Everything was finally in position to deal with the Jaws.  Mira couldn't wait to do the midnight raid on the hostile Avaar, but wait she must, so she checked out the temple ruins that were so similar to those in the Oasis.  Those treehouse camps look so cool from underneath.

EqMzqVg.png

Night finally fell, and it was time to plan the assault with Stone Bear Hold.  The thane's assessment was so apt.  It's more of a feud than a war.

Spoiler

I wanted to cheer when Storvacker showed up from nowhere.  Dorian is happy too.

Spoiler

After taking out the archers on the wall, there wasn't much left to do on the ground.

Spoiler

Time to warm up by the fire, then off to settle things with Gurd.

Spoiler

It was getting a little crowded, so Sera softened Gurd up with Thousand Cuts, then Mira dropped a rift on him.  Bees and fire were involved at some point, too, but that was probably earlier, since there wasn't much of a later.  Nice fight.

Has anyone ever gotten Alistair's rose after he's been hardened? Would be interested if it can be done, what the differences may be.

I'm sure it can be done, because that's how I usually do.  It's actually pretty ironic, because he usually has my warden meeting his family before we've even flirted (much.)  Strangely enough, I usually talk to him so much the rose scene usually comes after the 1st kiss.     Not supposed to happen that way, but does.

I romanced him once and don't remember getting a rose. Of course I never knew about a rose. I don't recall if he was hardened or not.

You see, I'm trying to play a moderately pragmatic character.

Always focused on the mission and never clouded by emotion, but not quite ice cold like Morrigan.

When I was about to finish Broken Circle and the Warden met Cullen, I thought I'd agree with him by saying "I hate to admit it, but you're right".

Nothing wrong with that, right? We're not talking about killing every mage in the tower, just Uldred and whoever might be aiding him or has become an abomination. But Wynne still snapped and wanted to fight the Warden as if he were gonna murder all innocent mages in existence.

Naturally, I didn't save the game after that.

I'll be forced to tamper with my roleplay because of this stupid hag. Yes, yes, I could just kill her and move on, but that doesn't seem right for the first run.

Irritating, isn't it? I used to use my first PT for roleplaying, but at least with Bioware games, it might be better to save that for the second PT. First PT you have to play "by the book", the way the writers intended the story to go, if you want to insure you don't close off any major cutscenes or quests.

Second PT can be no holds barred, break the narrative in as many ways as necessary to achieve your PT goals.

Okay, I need someone to talk me out of this ...

I'm thinking of doing a "Heartbreaker Challenge" playthrough. In a single playthrough, do every possible romance, up to the point of the final blue broken-hearted break-up option. I'd have to play as a female Lavellan for maximal coverage -- I'd only miss out on Dorian. Even so, I'm not 100% sure this is even possible, given how polarizing approval/disapproval tends to be.

I had planned to do a Qunari NM run next, never played a Qunari before, was really looking forward to it, but this idea is tempting me ...

Part of the fun of a second playthrough.  And you know the game better so you know what you can get away with and what you can't.  Maybe that is why I felt like I liked Kara more too.

I....actually am not sure now that I think about it, but I think I killed Wynne in my first DAO game. I took Morrigan with me to the Circle quest and the two got into a fight right away. I didn't even know about Leliana or Sten, and Shale wasn't installed. I had a very small party in that game. Luckily I played a human noble, so at least I had the dog. I also accidentally deleted that character's save files. <_<

Ooh, challenging Cass for the hearbreaker trophy, eh? No offense, but I don't think you can come close to catching her.

Tanith update: Try as she might to follow the excellent advice given here on ally recruiting, she didn't have much success. She did get a Qunari, just one (and his merc band) but the dragon flew off before she could even introduce herself. Then she thought maybe the giant might be interested but he apparently felt slighted that she was really there for the dragon and threw rocks at her in response. Stupid giant. He should throw rocks at the breach! If he found one big enough, it could plug the hole. Right? :?

Once he attempted to give me rose when I didn't plan to romance him. "Uhm, you're nice and stuff, but... hm... you should keep it." He was sad...

I thought beginning some romances, like with Blackwall or Solas, preclude ever starting one of the others, but if you don't start flirting with Solas pretty early on, you don't get the opportunity to romance him? I could be wrong.

Harold approves :P

EDIT: Just my own brief update on how challenging -- in unexpected ways -- writing about Harold's adventures is proving to be. Because I forgot to turn off Bandicam (much-improved alternative to FRAPS) when I stepped away from the computer for a few minutes, I just took a thousand (and forty) screenshots of the in-game main menu. :pinched:

You, ser, are exceptionally talented!  :D

Good luck with your writing, if it will be on the same (or better) level as what you already posted, I'm really looking forward to it. ;)

I was regretting not taking Morrigan with me, but niw I'm glad I didn't.

It would be impossible to save Wynne, then.

Trying to get mods reinstalled but I can't get them to merge properly. :pinched: Doing a repair game to see if it helps.

Were you able to install your mods? *curious*

How? I can't get her shut up and giving me 'advices'?

I refused to do her wyvern heart quest, and now she just says "What do you want?" in this irritated voice, and nothing else. :P  That's what she gets for moving all my furniture!

*snip adventures of sad Harold*

Aww, poor Harold! Maybe he can bribe Cass into coming back for a while?

Send Storvackr off to the Chantry with a little note on it reading: "I can't bear to be apart."

Cassandra's Disgusted Noise can be heard throughout Thedas.

When you let Hawke die and hug Varric for your own selfish reasons...

It's a sacrifice for the greater good! I'm planning on sacrificing Hawke at some point with a female qunari, so she'll get some... interestingly proportioned Varric hugs. For science!

Yes! Do it! You might need to check out a guide to get it all timed correctly though. I think you need to do Solas first. And Blackwall's flirts are bugged, so he can c*ck-block everyone else.

I tried a heartbreaker Hawke before. She slept with Jethann (Blooming Rose), kissed Tallis, flirted with Sebastian, canoodled Fenris (who left her, easy), then Isabela (for fun, easy), then Anders. God, that was not easy. Just excruciating.

Anders: "I love you, can I move in now?"

Hawke: "I'm sorry, you just weren't that good. You can leave now."

Anders:   :crying:

She was supposed to do the same to Merrill, but I just couldn't break that little cutie's heart (and get shanked by Isabela), so Hawke settled down to a committed relationship. Flirted with Zev a little, but nothing more. It was supposed to be a silly PT, but it's actually one of my faves.

Once he attempted to give me rose when I didn't plan to romance him. "Uhm, you're nice and stuff, but... hm... you should keep it." He was sad...

He did  that to me a lot! One minute we're joking around, becoming BFFs. Next minute he's giving me a rose. It doesn't help when I pick options like "Feeling a bit thorny, are we?" And his face is just like . Turning him down is like an extended puppy-kicking session! The worst was on a PT where I recruited Loghain, and Alistair was like "How could you do this when I love you?" in front of everyone at the Landsmeet. Jeez, Al. Take the hint!

Leliana was just as bad!

Stage 1: "Soooo, I fancy you." "Sorry Leliana, but I just want to be friends." "Ok."

Stage 2: "What's going on with you and Zevran? If you love him, then we should end this." "Err... sure... let's end 'this'."

Stage 3: "You're still seeing him, aren't you!? Don't lie! Make a choice!" "Zevran. I. Choose. Zevran." Leliana disapproves -100

Jeez, Lel, take the hint.

Hah, I saw it for the first time last week and now I wish both Morrigan and Leliana got that armor in game. I know there are mods for that, but I'm too lazy to search for them o 3o

And I really, really like Leliana's look here. Especially hair.

This photo of my Dagon Cadash is bothering me. Is it just me, or does he look like a real person in this picture?

Note: I enhanced some of the coloring with PhotoShop and up'd the clarity...

The hair is much more red in this trailer. She looks like a character you could play in those kind of open world games like that new PlayStation 4 exclusive: Horizon Zero Dawn. Waiting for the time when games will look this good and play at real-time... Of course, I'd expect games to reach like $100 by then.

I would say it's almost pinkish. But yeah, it'll be amazing to see games like this.

They look awesome! I don't really know how to mod DA:O. I have the mod tool and it's installed, but I have no idea how to do anything with it. Also, I read that Leliana's romance is filled with buggy dialogues.

Most DAO, as well as DA2 mods does not require mod tool. You just extract content of downloaded files to override folder.

I haven't tried Leliana's romance, so I can't really tell if it's true or not.
