Aww, poor Harold! Maybe he can bribe Cass into coming back for a while?
Send Storvackr off to the Chantry with a little note on it reading: "I can't bear to be apart."
Cassandra's Disgusted Noise can be heard throughout Thedas.

I like it! Will have to wait and see how he deals with Storvackr first, I guess

Ha ha ha! *cough cough* I'm not laughing at you Spork, I swear.

Uh huh. Sure sure. S'okay, I can take it. :P

Sometimes I'm afraid that one day you'll forget your head.

That, at least, is still attached.

I thought beginning some romances, like with Blackwall or Solas, preclude ever starting one of the others, but if you don't start flirting with Solas pretty early on, you don't get the opportunity to romance him? I could be wrong.

Harold approves :P

EDIT: Just my own brief update on how challenging -- in unexpected ways -- writing about Harold's adventures is proving to be. Because I forgot to turn off Bandicam (much-improved alternative to FRAPS) when I stepped away from the computer for a few minutes, I just took a thousand (and forty) screenshots of the in-game main menu. :pinched:

Trying so hard not to laugh.  You have no idea how many times I've got up to get a cup of coffee and gotten sidetracked, only to return hours later and find the initial menu on the screen.  No flycam or FRAPS for me - I just don't have that kind of patience when it comes to editing.  As far as disk space, not even close to having enough.

@PapaCharlie - good luck on your heartbreaker playthrough.  I think you can flirt with anyone you want pre-skyhold, but once you've settled into your new quarters, things get more serious.  Blackwall is one that soft locks you in if you flirt on the battlements, and with Solas, I think you are somewhat committed if you don't cut it off at the first trip back to Haven.   I thought Blackwall's romance was a lot like Al's, because with both, I knew that if I wanted to romance someone else that playthrough, I'd better not even get started flirting with either of them.  Way too easy to go down the rabbit hole.

Before long, that night's inhabitants of the Herald's Rest got back to doing what they were doing, and the minstrel began another song; a catchy light-hearted tune about a woman named Sera. Some people laughed and clapped along, but most everybody just got back to drinking. He listened for awhile, content to soak it all in and let his mind drift, still barely believing that he was even sitting there in the first place. A low rumble from the table brought him back to the present. The big qun'ari was chuckling at something Varric had said. "What did I miss?" He said, grinning big.

Iron Bull looked coolly down at him through slitted eyes, appraising him for a moment. He felt as though the big man knew everything there ever was to know about him in that moment. He swallowed and kept a pleasant smile on his face. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Varric watching the two of them with his own knowing smile. He'd seen this before, that smile said. The dwarf held up three fingers in the direction of the bar, signaling for more drinks.

Iron Bull finally placed both hands flat on the table, leaned in close so that their faces were just inches apart, and said somewhat menacingly, "What exactly are you doing here?"

"Uh, well," He coughed. "I came here ostensibly to be a part of the Inquisition. I figured I couldn't just show up, you know? That I had to bring something to the table, so to speak."

Varric snorted. Bull glanced briefly over but otherwise never moved. "Sure," he smiled. "I get it. We're established now. We're big-time. We don't take just anybody anymore. So... what do you bring to the table?"

Even Varric leaned in, curiosity too much to deny, as he reached into his pack and pulled out a seemingly normal looking eating utensil. A perfectly ordinary looking spoon, with three evenly-spaced notches cut out of the end. With a flourish, he held it up in front of the big qun'ari and with his most mellifluous voice, said, "Gentlemen, I give you... the spork!"

Varric raised his eyebrows, clearly waiting for more, but he said nothing else. A moment passed. "That's it?" He asked. "A spoon?"

"Not just a spoon, sir! A spoon and a fork together in one utensil!"

Bull leaned back and then, quicker than the eye could follow, snatched the spork ouf of his hand. He looked it over, turning it this way and that, miming eating motions. He exchanged another glance with Varric, who was still sitting there, mouth slightly open, eyebrows raised, speechless for once. Bull held up the spork and called out to the corner he'd emerged from earlier. "What d'you think, Dalish? Use this for magic?"

A beatiful blonde elf, vallaslin shining slightly in the torchlight, poked her head up and peered at them a moment before disappearing back into the crowd with an exasperated, "How should I know?"

Those she was sitting with roared laughter. Varric and Bull roared laughter. People all around them roared laughter. The bartender cracked a smile. The mintrel's voice almost cracked on a note. Almost. Our hero could only turn red and try to shrink out of sight. Just then the barmaid arrived with their ales. Bull pulled her onto his lap and held up the spork for her inspection. "What do you think of this?"

She just rolled her eyes at him and danced away to serve someone else as the two men roared laughter again. Varric was wiping tears from his eyes when he regained control of himself and looked at his new friend for a moment. Then he sighed. "Look, kid. It's just a spoon. A spoon," he added, palm up to stop the inevitable retort. "Okay, here's how it is-"

"Weren't you telling the story about how I saved Harold's life? Get on with that instead, why don't you?" Bull grinned toothily. "We'll sort this fool out tomorrow."

Varric never needed to be told twice to continue a story. "You saved his life, huh? All right. Where was I?"

"Fr-frostback Basin," the young man stammered, happy the subject had changed. "The rift?"

"Right. The rift. You had to understand, this was the first time Harold had been on a proper adventure since the Seeker left him. Left us. He was a little rusty."

Bull snorted. "A little."

------------

The adventure begins with Harold and the crew back in camp after closing that rift. I had to take Harold back to the Black Emporium and fix that overbite. Can't really tell how well it worked yet, because I haven't gotten any good screenies of him saying anything. :P While in camp, they paid one last visit to professor Kenric.

Professor Kenric offered some more insight into Ameriden, and how they might go about tracking down some clues. An island, an Avvar village and some Tevinter belt buckles. Wait, what?

------------

Varric sat back and laced his fingers behind his head. "After that, the boys limped their way back to camp to rest up and restock on potions, before returning to the adventure."

Bull looked a little dubious as he signaled for more ale. "Are you sure that's how it happened? I don't remember it that way."

A tall man with a long black beard and hair, dressed impeccably in shining grey warden armor, stepped up to the table and slapped Bull on the back. "You don't rmember it because you'd been stomped flat. I heard the whole thing from over by the door, and that's exactly how it happened. I've still got the scars to prove it."

Bull stood up and embraced the man, lifting him, armor and all, off his feet. "Good to see you, Thom!" He bellowed, ignoring the man's struggles to free himself.

The young spork enthusiast's jaw hit the table. "Is that...???"

Varric leaned in and smiled, "you know, kid, if you're going to be one of us, you're really gonna have to stop doing that," before turning to the others and yelling something about finishing a story.

------------

Tune in next time and journey with Harold travelling to an Avvar village on the trail of the Ameridan, the first Inquisitor :)

Okay, I need someone to talk me out of this ...

I'm thinking of doing a "Heartbreaker Challenge" playthrough. In a single playthrough, do every possible romance, up to the point of the final blue broken-hearted break-up option. I'd have to play as a female Lavellan for maximal coverage -- I'd only miss out on Dorian. Even so, I'm not 100% sure this is even possible, given how polarizing approval/disapproval tends to be.

I had planned to do a Qunari NM run next, never played a Qunari before, was really looking forward to it, but this idea is tempting me ...

Hey, it's OK. It's just your nature. You can't help yourself  :P

LOL.  When she saw a seagull out the window, a teenaged girl behind me on a bus in Rome, NY, squealed, "Oh, look, a turkey!"     All I could think of was that I would not be having Thanksgiving dinner at her house.  Those things are pretty much rats with wings - they thrive everywhere.

A quick update on Demetria. She travelled to the Western Approach with her team to fulfill Frederic's tasks in luring the Abyssal High Dragon. Before she went to fight the dragon, she also sealed a few rifts especially the one in the Still Ruins. Captured Griffon Wing Keep and eliminated the Venatori, darkspawn and random bandits milling about the area.

Our lady Inquisitor also had to track down Servis. The crazy part of this manhunt was while heading to the coracavus' entrance, Demetria and Cole were the only ones fighting a darkspawn alpha. Bull and Cassandra were M.I.A. therefore, this S.O.B. kept chasing Demetria around! Cole did his best to keep the brute distracted while our heroine threw everything she got including the kitchen sink. It was a tedious fight to the death, but the tenacious Demetria and Cole were victorious!

Cassandra and Bull decided to appear AFTER that fight! Apparently, they were busy fighting off stray hyenas at the bottom of the cliff... <_< 'Fired... So f***ing fired!' Demetria glowered in her many unpleasant thoughts. (Well, Deme can't really fire them, because they're permanent members of the Inquisition and Bull is her boyfriend. She could come up with alternate punishments  ;) )

Later, Servis was captured and brought to justice. The slimy Tevinter Mage tried to bargain for his freedom, but Demetria stuffed him in a box, gift wrapped with a bow and mailed him back to Corypheus.

Afterwards, Demetria returned to the Approach, dealt with the Abyssal High Dragon and reported back to Frederic. While it was a shame Frederic didn't get a chance to see the dragon in person, he offered his services and expertise to the Inquisition. The lady Inquisitor accepted his offer and hired him as an agent of the Inquisition.

That's it for now. Up next.. Dragon dances, wandering through desert nights and a face off against the Red Templars in Emprise du Lion.

I remember seeing this trailer WAAAAAY back. I didn't who anyone was, but then I was interested in it again, and so, I decided to find it. And WOW! Leliana looks awesome! I don't know which Leliana I prefer now...

Wow, I don't remember ever seeing that trailer! Shows how far the technology has come, since trailers are now pretty routinely done with the in-game engine, which this clearly wasn't. Still some nice work though and cool to see different interpretations of Morrigan, Leliana and Sten.

On this Episode of Dragon Age Inquisition...fun times recruiting and missing being a Rogue.

So recruited the Iron Bull and well...forgot to take video of it.  Oh thee well.  And it seems I solved the squishiness problem for him...at least for the moment.  He is being, very unsquishy right now.  Had a lot of max guard a lot.  Also finding armor for Sera continues to be difficult, she is still running around the Hinterlands in her small clothes.  At least she had a bow now.  Took control of her for a while to keep her out of trouble...then decided to drop it off.

Talked to Viv for a while, was trying to push her buttons, but all I got was a single 'Slightly Dissaproves' from her.  :/

But otherwise doing a LOT of Quests in the Hinterlands.  One thing I do like about DA I is the pure ability to just consume a lot of quests in a very short number of time.  Its good.

Nailing down Ben's role play for his second playthrough more, what quests he will and will not do.  Getting more into the character, and more into the world.  Figuring out what I will do before In Hushed Whispers and how, etc.

Like all giant fights, in my experience anyway, the first thing he did was drop a rock on us. Then he just kinda stomped around and hit us for awhile. At first I didn't even realize he had that massive shockwave attack. That's why I thought he was cheating when Dorian died, heh. I knew Dorian was too far away for a melee attack.
