Look what came in the mail~

Getting them was such an odyssey. I had ordered all of them online, but not all on the same site.

First I picked up The Calling at the nearest Exlibris store. (with that I didn't have to pay shipping fees)

Then The Last Flight came in the mail. Then The Masked Empire. Asunder came yesterday and The Stolen Throne today.

 

Just started reading The Stolen Throne. 

Yikes! I read most of those as ebooks, had no idea they were such thick books.

 

The Masked Empire was the one I liked best, but I wish I had read it before doing WEWH. That quest would have made so much more sense if I had.

Same problem here with the spider cave; also in a cave during my most recent trip to the Oasis. I think they do it on purpose.

Mods are nice, until the next patch.  I think mine are probably broken again since before the new DLC was showing up in Origin I did a game update and it downloaded a 200mb something or other.

It's worse than I thought....not only are my mods broken, but so is the game. I can't even get it to launch now. Doing another repair install to see if it fixes whatever the issue is. OMG.....I swear it is always ****** something.

Edit: Well, I got the game to run but I think I'm gonna cry.

The last save that will load is at 15hrs in.

I don't know what that 200mb update was for, but I deleted it and put back the last patch. I was then able to re-install my mods and load up my current save. Whew! I didn't want to have to go back 30 hrs game time....that would have been awful. Good news is I still have the Qunari armors and schematics in my special shipments, so the update wasn't necessary for them. No idea what it was for other than to break my game.

That's it....no more secret updates until I'm done with this PT.

Wow what a day I'm glad you were able to get your most recent save back. Having to go back to halfway through the PT would be pretty damn discouraging. I'd almost want to start over from the beginning. And hey, My lovely Lavellan could grant my wishes any time she wants

Is Spoils of the Qunari good? Spoils of the Avvar was quite disappointing, and I reckon this one will be too.

It's got some issues with the armor (skin tones, re-tinting), particularly on Qun'ari Inquisitors, which is kinda but you also get:

which is perfect for the Iron Bull romance PT.

which is kinda cool looking, even if the lighting in the main hall is terrible.

which is also kinda cool looking. You can see Kubrie sitting on the horse, and I can't re-tint that armor on her (or on a male Qun'ari I'm assuming). Also you can't really see because of the shade, but the skin colour of her face is much darker than the skin colour of the rest of her body, which is lame, so because of that you may want to wait and see if these issues are fixed. On the other hand...

All the ladies are showing off their awesome abs though.

Made it through another day.  Nothing exciting or noteworthy.  Just still here.

I haven't been here in ages... 

I'm in the middle of two playthroughs, one is an Inquisition playthrough with very direct female Lavellan who claims to be the Herald of Andraste just because it will be good for the Inquisition and another one is a DA2 playthough with an aggressive male Hakwe. I like him a lot. I felt my female purple Hawke was too naive and people kept taking advantage of her. At least my aggressive Hawke gets more money out of things. 

Others think he's kind of mean, too. He helps mages, but only if Fenris is in the party and Anders isn't. He'll say stuff that gets misinterpreted by his squad (for example: saying "Slaves are useful"... he meant people who were made slaves are not to be discarded, okay!!! He's just not good at expressing his feelings...), then does something nice when they're not looking. This means he's now a rival to Fenris and Anders.

This Male Hawke was able to start a romance with Fenris (for some reason I couldn't trigger it with my Female Hawke). It's amazing how much better I like Fenris now that I did the rivalry approach. 
 
However, Hawke left Fenris because when you tell him no once, he will take that for an answer. He's not here for people who hesitate, sorry. So now he ended up with Anders, who had been fawning over him (despite being angry at some things Hawke had said).

I don't know why Anders thought one night of love meant Hawke was inviting him to live at the estate, but it's okay, Anders, you can come. My Hawkes, no matter the gender, have a thing for Anders after all.

Oh, and I felt terrible for Karl this time, now after playing Inquisition, more than ever. Anders could maybe have cured him... Oh, my heart...

Welcome back among us ...kudos on the Anders romance. I could never do it. I just want to punch the guy in the nose when I see him now

Fired up the X1 and downloaded my Spoils of the Qunari pack. Seriously I love that throne and that bed! The armor is nice but it sucks that there isn't a medium armor version and that you can't tint it (the main colored one on Qunari). Now I wish I still had people to judge so I can get cutscene footage of the throne in all its glory.

It took me forever to get through and by the end I wanted to strangle everyone except that elf guy who died anyway.  Hated Briala, hated Celene, hated Gaspard, thought Michel was the biggest idiot ever. Briala in the game is a big-a$$ liar who conveniently forgets to mention that she is the reason the civil war has dragged on for so long. I hate having to give her credit for anything in order to get her and Celene back together. Not that I actually like that option but the result ends up, imo, better than just Celene by herself.

 

Ok, rant over.  

 

Mage-quisition has made it to Crestwood (after a long detour through the Exalted Plains trolling for Venatori tomes) and is about to drain the lake. Will try to post a few pictures tomorrow. Today has just been too rough in the computer issues dept.

To be precise - there seems to be trouble with both heavy and light armor on qunari. Heavy armor has obvious neck cut (DON'T PUT IT ON BULL!) and light armor doesn't match qunari skin color (there's also neck cut, but it's not so obvious). Also, qunari females can't retint both armors, while males can't reting heavy armor.

Great pics, Rascoth!  You're getting really good at the CC.  She looks seriously BA.  I'm so jelly.  I've got to wait on the Avaar and Qunari armors, and while the body paint doesn't thrill me (except if it works on Blackwall,) that Qunari armor looks very tempting.

 

Magdalena's RP day hasn't gone as planned.  Too much sitting around in the sun waiting to be told the other half's traffic ticket isn't ready to be sorted out yet.  He is the sweetest, most adorable man in the world, but he has no concept of time when it comes to doing things like getting the car inspected.  Now we get to sort that mess out (again.)  Back in a couple months.  It's just a fundraiser around here anyway.  They'll let you drive around with your windshield held in place with duct tape and, believe it or not, in this state, just about the only thing they actually fail anyone on is exhaust emissions.  It's so ironic, because the state is crisscrossed with interstates and trucks spewing all kinds of black smoke into the air and jake-braking going down hills into town.  The cops actually give cars tickets for it.  Probably because the truckers would pound them into the pavement if they tried anything.

 

Oh well, another afternoon shot in the butt.  I think I'm still looking for that cabin.

I like it. Way more than Avvar one. Heavy armor looks good on 2h warriors. Both me and Spork can confirm that. And light armor is just wow.

You had problems? I had no problems with getting my old mods work on patch 8 and new Mod Manager was released within a week (I believe it was actually 5 days). I'm so sorry to hear you had so much trouble

I never even bought the Avvar one. I got this and I think I will enjoy using the heavy Qunari Armour on my planned male Qunari to romance Dorian. It's not actually class specific and I think it might work well on a Knight Enchanter. I'm going to craft some for Bull, but I need some Fade Touched Silverite or Dawnstone to give the Guard boost or Walking Fortress chance...

 

I think the light armour looks great but I don't like that it has three separate utility slots, one each of metal, cloth and leather, meaning that whoever you give it to, it boosts stats that don't really need boosting. I made some for Sera to test it out but I don't think I'll actually use it. Coupled with the light armour rating it's just too many compromises to use on Nightmare...

I did it! After digging through 70 pages of 'Post pictures of your Inquisitor' I found Connie! No, not that one. Connie I posted before is Connie 2.0. Actually 2.2, but that's not a point. 

Connie Trevelyan, dual wielding rogue, assassin, former templar trainee. My only dual wielding Inquisitor... whose playthrough I haven't finished. Because I accidentally deleted her. How it happened:

I had another Inquisitor created with really similar name who was also rogue. I wanted to delete that one, but I deleted Connie. Then I quickly closed game and checked when was the last time I send my saves to cloud. I was far, far in her playthrough... Last save from Origin Cloud was from before meeting Mother Giselle. In rage I deleted those saves as well and created dwarf for my nightmare playthrough. I jumped from lowest to highest difficulty, but that's not about it. My dwarf was also rogue assassin, so when I finished her playthrough I decided to get Connie back. But rogue again? I decided to go with mage. Her look is completely different, but some of her personality traits are the same.

There's also another reason I didn't recreate her fully - I would never be able to do that, because with Connie 1.0 I won at lottery. Here's what I mean. 

At the beginning I roleplayed her as really cheerful person, who could smile no matter the hardships. And it showed. She smiled in almost every cutscene. Then, after IYHSB, I added a scar. I decided that after attack on Haven she started to realise how powerless she was and that smile will not help her. Getting wounded deepened that feeling. That's why she became assassin - to be the most effective weapon. She became more serious, rarely smiling. And you'll not believe what happened. She stopped smiling in cutscenes. Even when she was delivering supposedly humorous lines! It really felt amazing.

That's why I didn't recreate her fully. No matter what I think I could never get Connie 1.0 back... that's why I transformed her. But now that I got back pics I think I may try recreating her look... for science   And then maybe tweaking her a bit... for science

If you weren't playing on nightmare, I'd say heck with it.  Sera looks like she's ready for a day at the beach in that first outfit.  Are there schematics for the armors, or is it all premade?  You could always save up enough mats that boost secondary stats instead, like constitution instead of strength, for instance, but you know that, oops.  

 

Not sure if I'll pick that pack up, because no matter how good it looks, it's the stats every time....Rats.

Yeah even constitution is only so useful for a rogue, especially with that lower armour rating, and willpower? Meh... There are schematics of both the heavy and light armours at different levels. I take it that they unlock at different times as the game progresses, as with the Dragon stuff, but I'm far enough into Aidan's game that I got all of them. The top level Heavy Armour is on a par with other high-end schematics that you can't add arms and legs to, and it's proper DA2 Arishok looking Armour. It looks badass on Bull, and with the opportunity to boost melee, ranged and magic defense in one armour I think it will make good tank armour. I think I'll go fade-touched materials hunting and craft some for Bull tonight.

I'm huge fan of all freckled complexions in this game. Most of my Inquisitors have freckles. If freckles for qunari didn't look like yellow spots, Phrona would also be freckled

I read Masked Empire before doing Alessandra II's play through. The novel gave me some ideas on WEWH.

Thanks.  No, I had no issues with Patch 8, which is what I was using (with mods) before the extra update yesterday. I have no idea what it was, but since I apparently don't need it, it's staying uninstalled.

Bruce defeated the last few Templars and then decided to fight Kaltenzahn. But first he had to pose. 

 

 

The fight against Kaltenzahn went rather well until her babies showed up and Cassandra was suddenly alone.   Well, at least I got some great screenies.

This was the moment where I got overconfident that I would win anyway, which Kaltenzahn used to get back at me in freezing Bruce

 

 

and then proceeded in killing everyone (except Cassandra) with her Maelstrom. Cassandra then died heroically while trying to resurrect Bruce.

It's not that he looks bad in it... Just... That neck cut looks even more ridiculous on him than on qunari Inquisitor 

As I said I was hoping to craft him an armour with that schematic because it looks badass. I didn't notice the neck cut last night, but I didn't look very hard because I didn't have the fade-touched stuff I wanted. I'll look again this evening and see if it bothers me...

Well, I do have to get back to DAO first, to finish my elf/mage PT, but here what I have planned:

 

Kiri: Elf DD/Tempest Rogue - Solas (will disband the Templars)

Kitty: Elf Mage/KE? - Cullen (I want the dialog where he talks about how he would've thought about her 10 years ago when he still couldn't stand mages)

Clint: Elf Archer/Assassin - Dorian (big mouth, but no idea what he's doing)

Chiiki: Elf DD/Artificer - Sera (doesn't care for elfy stuff and only wears her Vallaslin because it looks cool   )

Minami: Human Mage/KE - Blackwall (pro chantry, pro circle, Viv is gonna love her)

still don't know who should romance Bull x"D

Sorry if this has already been suggested (still catching up with thread ). If you have JoH, then there is a cloth that gives Dexterity for the Utility. Avvar Cotton grants you Dex, and is the most common cloth drop in JoH (at least for me). I haven't bought the Spoilers of Qunari (waiting for fixes....if they come ), and so I don't know what values each of the slots have in the schematics. But being able to get both the cloth and leather slots dedicated to Rogue appropriate Utilities, could make this outfit quite Rogue friendly. Granted, not a big gain from the metal slot, but if you are looking for better Guard Damage Bonus (*shrug), you could add a Strength Utility, or just go for straight Constitution.

Anyway, just thought I would toss that out, if interested....and if no one already mentioned this.
