Stroud makes sense only if Bethany/Carver is Grey Warden. But except for that? They met once, for a brief moment. And since in most of my world states Carver is templar, I feel strange when Hawke talks about her 'friend'.

What Ashaantha said

I always wondered about Stroud.  He shows up briefly if the sibling is brought into the Deep Roads, and Anders knows him.  Varric knows him too, and he says it's through his association with Hawke.  In my state, Bethany became a Circle mage, so Hawke wouldn't have met Stroud either, except for 3 or 4 lines exchanged during the Qunari uprising.  I guess we'll have to assume that Stroud and Hawke eventually got better acquainted after the red lyrium business or because of Cory.  I think there was probably DLC or something planned that he featured in, but it got scrapped.

He's a good-looking man with an epic mustache and he seems very honorable.  I usually do feed him to The Nightmare, but he's someone I would have liked to know the story of more.

I'm off to see if we can actually get somewhere today.  This week has been hectic.  For someone without a job, I spend more time having to be somewhere at a specific time than anyone I know.  Monday was helping a friend buy a car so he'd have wheels for work and finally getting my car inspected so I stop having to talk my way out of tickets.  Tuesday was hanging out at the courthouse with another friend, waiting for the wheels of justice to grind infinitely small.  Wednesday was helping my daughter buy a new mattress.  She's got a new friend she's serious about <3 I'm very happy for her.  She really deserves someone who's going to make her happy.  Thursday was the "we're out of food" grocery run.  Yesterday, I forgot to check my gas guage and wound up wasting 2 hours cuz I was out of gas (oops.)  I'm ready to lay in provisions and spend the entire weekend vegetating.  Wish me luck!

Yeah, most likely he was helping Hawke with red lyrium or Cory. There's also possibility he came to Hawke after Anders (finally) went nuts. They knew each other, so maybe Stround was looking for some answers. Or Varric. Yep, Varric is definitely the type to introduce different people to Hawke. Still, it's a pity we don't really know how they go to become friends.

Oh yes, his mustache definitely rivals even Dorian's.

It seems you're really busy, but I wish you the best! Good luck!  ;)

Yes, it is. Tho it sometimes spoils the mood  :D

Me and Spork finished our personal challenge yesterday. I suspect community will not reach 80k nugs looted. That's way too much for daimp small player base.

You can get that last region without fighting her. You just need to go from above. There's even codex entry on small table.

Good luck on collecting those customizations. My thrones bugged (again) and I'm stuck with two thrones missing and I'm going nuts every time I open quest log, but I can't really do a thing about it  <_<

Sooo...

I had two characters in progress:

1) Mirinia Trevelyan - rogue, sniper, templars are allies, Cullen romance... the 'main' playthrough, plan is to collect/finish everything possible

Spoiler

2) Nettle Adaar - mage, conscripted mages, flirts with Iron Bull... an unusual perspective as a Qunari...

Spoiler

And I decided to make a 'baddie' inquisitor, someone selfish, arrogant... and created a blue-eyed blondie 2h warrior Lavellan... But then I wondered if there was any non-warrior (because taking two warriors is not ideal) guy she could romance... hm... Solas? uh, I'll pass...

So the result is:

Meet Jehanna "Meanie" Cadash (2h warrior) and Mayene "Snow White" Lavellan (DW rogue):

And now I have dilemma which one to play...

If reaver wasn't such an absolute beast in MP -- admittedly a good sword helps :P -- I probably never would have played a reaver in SP, but I've been inspired to try it. SnS instead of 2H will be a bit different though.

I really really liked the Inquisition version of Loghain. Best warden choice out of the three in my opinion (sorry gottaloveme :P

True on having a good 2H sword. Aless is currently wielding a crafted great sword of the dragon with a hidden blades masterwork. Works so well during fights. I look forward to having her use the Sulevin blade.

Sword and shield warrior is the only class I haven't yet played. Playing a Reaver that way would be a little different, yes.

I liked Loghain in my current run with Aless. He fits in well with the story.

I also liked Alistair as a Warden, but choosing between he and Hawke in the fade was  Better to keep him as King of Ferelden, personally.

Hi guys!

I have nothing to add, but I decided to come in to say hi because I like you guys.

Well, okay.  I have a baby PT that I am playing in between a playthrough of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (Like I said, the pull of Italy.  And I know Italy is the Florida of Europe with all the weird stuff that happens there but games like that are historical tourism for those of us who are never going to make it out of the country).  Male DW Rogue named Rafael.  Rafe for short.   I'm trying to play him pragmatically.  But I suck at being a ruthless pragmatist.  I am not that girl.  We'll see.  I might have to meta-game too much to do that.  And I don't like to meta-game.

Aslo, that floating Fenris head is the stuff of nightmares.  In DAI there is one pair of rogue legs that on Cole, always make him appear to have no legs.  Like, as if you are seeing the back of his legs through the front - they are invisible.  I'll take a screenshot of THAT weirdness next time I come across it.  It's one of the tighter fitting legs for him.  The puffy pants all show up fine on my PS4.  I don't like the puffy pants on him.  Not one bit.

Finally got new armor crafted and got some miniquests done.  Inq's gear was starting to get badly underpowered, so she finally has new armor.  I used snowfleur, pyrophite, gorgut, and one of the FT ring velvets, probably for stamina.  I like the rust and veridian combination.

It adds replay value. If every playthrough I did was taking my time enjoying the scenery I would get bored and stop playing. Its nice to change it up every now and then. At least half of all my ME playthroughs are less than 10 hours and half of those are less than 6 hours.

This, plus, it's a challenge. Easy is boring.

And don't worry, I'm going to keep a save early enough on in the speedrun that I can go back and do the Dorian romance at a reasonable pace.

Yep, Stroud is basically a nobody... I mmean, no impact as far as I'm concverned. i get where he and Hawke could be buddies, but other than that? meh. Alistair just seemed really bitter, like he just didn't have any fun at all over the last eleven years. Loghain is like, "I've seen it all, I've done it all, it can't get any worse for me. I'm ready for what comes next." and he's a perfect candidate to leave in the Fade.

7.  Remap Pause to something easier to reach.  E works, but then move right has to be remapped for both views.

Ctrl.  Trying to pause during tactical combat, in particular, is muscle spasm inducing if it's not remapped.  Isn't your spacebar jump, or did you remap that?

I don't know about the warden sibling.  This way, you can decide whether Stroud or Hawke remains to direct the wardens.  If it was a Hawke sibling, it would be either Hawke or Hawke.  Too confusing that way.

Yes, I use G for jump. There are few things I don't have mapped at all since I don't use them. Space bar is pause in the previous DA games, so for me it only makes sense for it to be the same in DAI. Why BW insists on changing them, I have no idea.

Quick question before I go to sort my screenshots. Do you need to flirt with Bull on every possible occasion to start his romance?

Hmm, I'm not sure, actually, since I think I picked all the flirt options as they came up when I romanced him. However, now that I think about it, Marcus didn't flirt with him at all, but there was a flirt option available during the post-dragon kill drink fest that I didn't have with previous pc's who were already locked in with another romance. So, maybe you don't need to pick them every time? That wasn't very helpful, was it? :)

This is why I want to mod ME - Origins was sooooo easy. I will remember what you said about it all being worth it when it comes together (not so patient sigh)

I still mean it too even though ME is far more difficult to mod than DA. But even then it's just a matter of learning how the tools work and having good vanilla backups... *ahem*

I looked up Stroud in the DA Wiki, and there's not a whole lot about him before Inquisition, other than he's tasked with recruiting new wardens, and spent most of his time in the Free Marches. Since DA2 takes place over a decade, and Stroud and Hawke could have known each other for a good number of those years, I guess we could headcanon a good relationship between them... if he's encountered on the deep roads expedition. Pity we have to bring Anders along to make that happen. <_< ... One thing I read, that I'd forgotten about, is that if Stroud saves Bethany/Carver, he tells Anders that this makes them even... so at some point he helped Anderrs in the past. Can Anders be asked about this? Crap now I'll have to get on that DA2 PT...

She's got a new friend she's serious about. I'm very happy for her.

 Well, personally speaking, I think Blackwall's plaidweave outfit is awesome. :P I've been thinking about a plaidweave magequisition for Meghan, but at the moment in her game, that stuff is a bit scarce.

Do it

:P ... you know, I look at the screenies you and gottaloveme and others have posted of a modded DA, and you're all far more ambitious with them than I ever was. I'm afraid that my game wouldn't look so very different from the vanilla game.

Sooo...

I also liked Alistair as a Warden, but choosing between he and Hawke in the fade was. Better to keep him as King of Ferelden, personally.

Yeah I crafted my 2H warrior a sword with hidden blades on it as well. Nothing can stand in her way. I made her a templar which wasn't the best idea. I don't think I even use any active templar skills, just passives. Meh.

If Alistair is king, he doesn't even make an appearance in Inquisition, right? not that I don't want to see him  but I was disappointed in his Inquisition evolution as a warden. Does he behave differently if the HoF survives the battle of Denerim?

It would have been nice to have Hawke's Warden "friend" be the sibling if they joined the Wardens. Otherwise, have it be like it is now.

But then we'd have to choose between Hawke and Beth/Carver in the Fade
