This is why I want to mod ME - Origins was sooooo easy. I will remember what you said about it all being worth it when it comes together (not so patient sigh)
I still mean it too even though ME is far more difficult to mod than DA. But even then it's just a matter of learning how the tools work and having good vanilla backups... *ahem*
I always wondered about Stroud. He shows up briefly if the sibling is brought into the Deep Roads, and Anders knows him. Varric knows him too, and he says it's through his association with Hawke. In my state, Bethany became a Circle mage, so Hawke wouldn't have met Stroud either, except for 3 or 4 lines exchanged during the Qunari uprising. I guess we'll have to assume that Stroud and Hawke eventually got better acquainted after the red lyrium business or because of Cory. I think there was probably DLC or something planned that he featured in, but it got scrapped.
He's a good-looking man with an epic mustache and he seems very honorable. I usually do feed him to The Nightmare, but he's someone I would have liked to know the story of more.
I looked up Stroud in the DA Wiki, and there's not a whole lot about him before Inquisition, other than he's tasked with recruiting new wardens, and spent most of his time in the Free Marches. Since DA2 takes place over a decade, and Stroud and Hawke could have known each other for a good number of those years, I guess we could headcanon a good relationship between them... if he's encountered on the deep roads expedition. Pity we have to bring Anders along to make that happen.

... One thing I read, that I'd forgotten about, is that if Stroud saves Bethany/Carver, he tells Anders that this makes them even... so at some point he helped Anderrs in the past. Can Anders be asked about this? Crap now I'll have to get on that DA2 PT...
I'm off to see if we can actually get somewhere today. This week has been hectic. For someone without a job, I spend more time having to be somewhere at a specific time than anyone I know. Monday was helping a friend buy a car so he'd have wheels for work and finally getting my car inspected so I stop having to talk my way out of tickets. Tuesday was hanging out at the courthouse with another friend, waiting for the wheels of justice to grind infinitely small. Wednesday was helping my daughter buy a new mattress. She's got a new friend she's serious about. I'm very happy for her. She really deserves someone who's going to make her happy. Thursday was the "we're out of food" grocery run. Yesterday, I forgot to check my gas guage and wound up wasting 2 hours cuz I was out of gas (oops.) I'm ready to lay in provisions and spend the entire weekend vegetating. Wish me luck!
Good luck! Hope this week isn't quite so hectic for you
Out of likes again. I'll catch up later today.
Finally got new armor crafted and got some miniquests done. Inq's gear was starting to get badly underpowered, so she finally has new armor. I used snowfleur, pyrophite, gorgut, and one of the FT ring velvets, probably for stamina. I like the rust and veridian combination.
Blackwall's kit was an offensive weapon itself, since I'd modeled it with a northern image in mind. That plaid reminds me so much of the tartan I call the loud MacLeod(sp? sounds like cloud). It doesn't look any better on Cassandra, but I don't use the two together often, so I can swap, if I remember, when it's her turn to wear the new clothes.
I like his new look much better.
Edit - The reason I was online was Origin tried to synch (I play offline) and it crashed my system. Again. For my own reference, here's a checklist for when I crash again...
All because I tried to quicksave and got this screen

Well, personally speaking, I think Blackwall's plaidweave outfit is awesome.

I've been thinking about a plaidweave magequisition for Meghan, but at the moment in her game, that stuff is a bit scarce.
Do it

... you know, I look at the screenies you and gottaloveme and others have posted of a modded DA, and you're all far more ambitious with them than I ever was. I'm afraid that my game wouldn't
look so very different from the vanilla game.
Sooo...
I had two characters in progress:
1) Mirinia Trevelyan - rogue, sniper, templars are allies, Cullen romance... the 'main' playthrough, plan is to collect/finish everything possible
2) Nettle Adaar - mage, conscripted mages, flirts with Iron Bull... an unusual perspective as a Qunari...
And I decided to make a 'baddie' inquisitor, someone selfish, arrogant... and created a blue-eyed blondie 2h warrior Lavellan... But then I wondered if there was any non-warrior (because taking two warriors is not ideal) guy she could romance... hm... Solas? uh, I'll pass...
So the result is:
Meet Jehanna "Meanie" Cadash (2h warrior) and Mayene "Snow White" Lavellan (DW rogue):
And now I have dilemma which one to play...
Lovely inquisitors

I think Mirinia is my favourite... but I must ask why don't you like to roll two warriors out on quests? Just curious. Two warriors is typically default for me, unless I'm running a badass DW assassin like Kubrie or the magequisition is in town
True on having a good 2H sword. Aless is currently wielding a crafted great sword of the dragon with a hidden blades masterwork. Works so well during fights. I look forward to having her use the Sulevin blade.
Sword and shield warrior is the only class I haven't yet played. Playing a Reaver that way would be a little different, yes.
I liked Loghain in my current run with Aless. He fits in well with the story.
I also liked Alistair as a Warden, but choosing between he and Hawke in the fade was. Better to keep him as King of Ferelden, personally.
Yeah I crafted my 2H warrior a sword with hidden blades on it as well. Nothing can stand in her way. I made her a templar which wasn't the best idea. I don't think I even use any active templar skills, just passives. Meh.
If Alistair is king, he doesn't even make an appearance in Inquisition, right? not that I don't want to see him

but I was disappointed in his Inquisition evolution as a warden. Does he behave differently if the HoF survives the battle of Denerim?
It would have been nice to have Hawke's Warden "friend" be the sibling if they joined the Wardens. Otherwise, have it be like it is now.
But then we'd have to choose between Hawke and Beth/Carver in the Fade
