Quick question before I go to sort my screenshots. Do you need to flirt with Bull on every possible occasion to start his romance?
Yes! You also get to kill a dragon to give him a gift later.

Hmm, I'm not sure, actually, since I think I picked all the flirt options as they came up when I romanced him. However, now that I think about it, Marcus didn't flirt with him at all, but there was a flirt option available during the post-dragon kill drink fest that I didn't have with previous pc's who were already locked in with another romance. So, maybe you don't need to pick them every time? That wasn't very helpful, was it?

Oh.... bummer
I screwed up. I don't like those two flirt options that come up in Haven, so I didn't pick them ![]()
I still have to kill my first dragon.
Yeah I crafted my 2H warrior a sword with hidden blades on it as well. Nothing can stand in her way. I made her a templar which wasn't the best idea. I don't think I even use any active templar skills, just passives. Meh.
If Alistair is king, he doesn't even make an appearance in Inquisition, right? not that I don't want to see himbut I was disappointed in his Inquisition evolution as a warden. Does he behave differently if the HoF survives the battle of Denerim?
Templar is not bad. I like using spell purge (for fade rifts) and wrath of Heaven along with the passives.
King Alistair makes a cameo appearance if you side with the Mages in Redcliffe. I didn't notice him acting different as a Warden.

Alistair appears if he's king only if you side with the mages. He strolls into Redcliffe after Inqui has taken care of things and kicks the mages out.
Not sure about "differently" but he was very eager to get back to the HoF's side in my game where he was a Warden. I imagine if she was dead, yeah, he'd be pretty bitter about life at that point. ![]()

Aha. In my one PT where Alistair was king in the world state, I sided with the templars. I remember being disappointed that all I got was a letter after hearing that he was supposed to make an appearance.Alistair appears if he's king only if you side with the mages. I decided I was sick of these stupid fetch quests and went back to playing Pillars of Eternity.
I'm having more fun now.
I guess I just found her to be a 'wrath of heaven' all on her own
... but okay admittedly I did get some use out of spell purge, and I'll definitely want that if I take her through JoH. Those rifts are crazy.
Yeah, exactly. I took Cass, Viv and Dorian into JoH when I played as my DW Assassin (Natalia). Two mages doing dispel and Cass with spell purge are effective on those challenging fade rifts.
The only abilities I didn't like on Templar were blessed blades and rally (focus).

The one time I've completed JoH, I had my mage casting dspel on the rifts, but I had the worst luck; I always seemed to dispel the wisps or the shades. Never the Pride or Despair Demons, oh no. ![]()
Lovely inquisitors
I think Mirinia is my favourite... but I must ask why don't you like to roll two warriors out on quests? Just curious. Two warriors is typically default for me, unless I'm running a badass DW assassin like Kubrie or the magequisition is in town
Thank you very muchly! Miri is my favourite too.
And I don't mind taking two warriors, I do mind taking three. If she romanced Blackwall, for example, then I would feel bad leaving him behind when going on quest with Cassandra or Iron Bull. So I decided to "split her": the 2h warrior will be "the meanie" and the elf will romance Blackwall.
But then we'd have to choose between Hawke and Beth/Carver in the Fade
![]()
I think in that case we wouldn't get an option to choose and Hawke would kick the younger sibling out of the Fade personally...

I remember when I had Alistair warden (who wasn't HoF LI) and alive HoF. He spoke quite... harshly? Hesitantly? I don't know how to say it. He wasn't sure what to think about HoF. He felt that his friend took a dark path. That was a shocker after playing game with similar setup (with only difference that Alistair was HoFs LI).

I agree. There would be no choice. Older Hawke would surely not let another sibling die while he/she is there.

I wonder, could Alistair have been referring to HoF's actions during the Witch Hunt DLC, or perhaps Awakening? I think he's reffering to Dark Ritual. If he's your LI he pretty much doesn't think much about it, because it means protecting you both. But when he's not... He starts to wonder what else HoF could do. At least that's what I think.
Both Witch Hunt and Awakening were the same in both world states, that's why I think it's connected to DR.

Oh okay... maybe he's just secretly jealous of the time the HoF got to spend with Morrigan and he didn't.
... I know, I know. They don't like each other.

Okay so Alistair thinks his friend took the dark path when he was the one who slept with Morrigan? That guy... I tellya. it sure looked like they really had to twist his arm to make that dark ritual happen, too.

Come on now. Get tough. Don't use dispel. Fight them face-to-face. That's the gentleman's way. Hahaha. And make sure you're on nightmare mode. Don't want it to be too easy. Hahahaha

after that first game with my mage I haven't dispelled the rifts very often, and never in my two rogue PTs... and, uhhh, I'm working my way up to doing a nightmare run ![]()

Everyone in this thread will be supporting you when you start that nightmare playthrough. You can do it. Overcome your fear. Its your destiny.
Remember long ago when that kid took your french fry? You were very mad. Get that same anger and do the nightmare playthrough and don't let that kid win again. That anger will be your fuel for kicking the baddies back to where they came from. But most of all, do it for your Inquisitor. Show Thedas that the Inquisitor can't be bullied and can handle anything no matter how tough.
Ok. Now get out there and do it.
In Your Heart Shall Burn with Phrona. Part 1.
As I suspected, this quest (with some following companion talks) took me... Let me check... 5 hours
That's a lot, but I was on great Red Lyrium Dragon hunt, so it's not suprising. I took my standard party for this quest - Cassandra, Varric and Vivienne. Cassandra because I like to see her in her gear during cutscenes (yeah, I know, amazing reason), Vivienne for approval and Varric for approval plus that small scene after you fire trebuchet ![]()
The time had come to close the Breach. Templars aided Herold, as they promised. And the Breach was finally sealed.
Whole Haven was celebrating, but Phrona felt it wasn't the end. Cassandra agreed. And soon their fears came to life.
Mysterious man named Dorian appeared to warn Inquisition about danger. Fashionably late.
When I'm siding with templars I never meet with Felix at the Chantry, so I never have a chance to meet Dorian before IYHSB.
Derp picture. 1 out of 2 (which I dared to share). Title: Where Cullen and Dorian compete who can make larger eyes and Phrona doesn't know what is going on anymore.
Venatori, Tevinter cult, was behind siege of Haven. Phrona wasn't going to sit and wait for miracle.
Suddenly Venatori Spellbinder decided to put his book on Phrona's head.
Derp picture. 2 out of 2 (which I dared to share). Title: Where suspicious Phrona is suspicious and Varric is quite unaware.
Then unbelievable happened. Or more precisely, dragon happened.
Dragon decided that the Chantry was nice place to rest.
I never noticed this in my previous playthroughs.
Enemy forces were still approaching.
But that just meant more enemies to punch.
After proposing quite bold plan to bury Haven, Cullen got major disapproval from Dorian.
It turned out Chancellor Roderic knew a way for Inqusition forces to retreat. But someone had to gather all attention. Phrona volunteered without a second thought.
To be continued in part 2.
In Your Heart Shall Burn with Phrona. Part 2.
Picking up a story from part 1. The one to blame for me posting this in two posts is Spork. I asked 'should I reduce my screenshots even more or post in two parts'? The answer was 'post in two parts'... Sorry Spork, someone has to be the scapegoat ![]()
Phrona picked up the most effective way of getting all attention.
When the party reached the trebuchet it turned out it was guarded by Venatori. Well, more punching.
Suddenly Fiona appeared among Venatori. That wasn't good sign... for her.
That must have hurt! Phrona finally got her back at Fiona for angering her in Redcliff.
When the trebuchet was ready the dragon appeared again.
After attacking Phrona dragon let the boss deal with Herold.
But even dragon's boss broke golden rune. Never anger this qunari. He was going to pay for that.
After burying Haven and miraculously surviving, Phrona had to reach rest of the Inquisition forces. When she finally saw bonfires, her legs gave in.
Mother Giselle tried really hard to convince Phrona that the Maker smiled on her. She wasn't so sure, even after all those singing.
Solas had a solution for their problems and thus their road began.
The first time Phrona saw Skyhold, she fell in love with it.
I love every Inquisitors reaction upon reaching Skyhold.
To lighten the mood even more, Solas tried to look like a cat.
Soon unbelievable burden was given to Phrona. Symbol of power, but also symbol of all expectations
Phrona accepted it, officially becoming Inquisitor.
That was a moment when her story truly began...
I got a lot of addictional screenshots. Among them I got those really cool screenshots of Phrona
And I would like to introduce this random rogue/aggresive Hawke I created for this world state. Sebastian romance... Varric rival... Tempar supporter... Anders killer ![]()
It'd almost be enough to get me seriously considering finally starting that DA:O I've been putting off for awhile... with mods
Mwahahaha - my job here is done!
Well, nooo not really ![]()
The one time I've completed JoH, I had my mage casting dspel on the rifts, but I had the worst luck; I always seemed to dispel the wisps or the shades. Never the Pride or Despair Demons, oh no.
I cast dispel and spell purge on the green bubbly stuff before the wave of demons appear. Doing it after they come doesn't work.
Come on now. Get tough. Don't use dispel. Fight them face-to-face. That's the gentleman's way. Hahaha. And make sure you're on nightmare mode. Don't want it to be too easy. Hahahaha
In my evil play through, I fight enemies head on. Everything must die haha....

My last inquisitor romanced Bull. I flirted with him at every occasion. But it also helped to get his approval up by hunting Vints. Seemed to trigger quicker that way.
