93 hrs into the game @ lvl 17........
Leiliana identified the Venatori agent and had him assassinated. It was a long drawn out operation, but well worth it.
I finally got Cullen's men to build the bridge across the canyon so I could find out from where the darkspawn were coming. Cassandra, Dorian, Solas and I embarked on our journey. We discovered a door to a place that we cannot enter in the canyon. Apparently there's a key somewhere that we haven't found. But then we climbed out of the canyon and onto the bridge and crossed over. There was a Tevinter prison being excavated, and they were using enslaved giants to excavate it. That couldn't possibly turn out well. And they'd broken through rock and opened a passage from where the darkspawn were coming. Blackwall probably would have liked to have been here, but he wasn't. Then we killed the giant who had killed a number of his masters and had their loot on him, not that he was intelligent enough to know what to do with it. Poor sod should have just got out of our way.
Then we ran into some Venatori. Dorian was happy to kill them. He's always happy to kill them. We incapacitated their leader and I sent him back to Skyhold for judgement.
Then we found the remaining shards in the Western approach and returned to Skyhold.
The Tevinter Magister was working for Corypheus, but not really. He was smuggling materials back to Tevinter instead of giving it to Corypheus. I thought that was pretty ballsy of him. He threw himself at my mercy. A smuggler.... Well perhaps he could smuggle stuff out of Tevinter for us. I turned him over to Leiliana and she made him an agent, and as usual there was the usual disagreements among my followers. The idealists disagreed, and the pragmatists agreed.
I did find a nice suit of armor in the prison along with a schematic for a masterwork dagger grip. So it was off to the undercroft. I had Dagna make me a new grip for my dagger. It feels very nice and I think I'll be a lot more precise with my strikes now, and when I do hit I'll be able to do a lot more damage. It feels that way anyway. (+9% Critical Chance, + 8% Critical Damage).
Then we went back to the Exalted Plains to take care of some loose ends for Cassandra, and I noticed that there was a dragon in the vicinity. What a great thing to try out my new dagger and test my armor! Anyway, Cassandra was happy we eliminated her enemy. Killing enemies for friends is something I'll do, especially one who reads Sword & Shield.
Then it was off to the dragon. This one breathes lightning. And the area is full of water. Don't stand in the water. This dragon was the toughest dragon we'd faced yet. Well, not as tough as the Fereldan Frostback, but I think that one was so tough because we didn't know what we were doing. Now that we do, things are going a lot easier. It also helps to have druffaloed up our armor. And like before, I know enough to stay away from the front. Solas attacks from a great distance. Vivienne attacks right up in the fray. What is wrong with that woman? That dragon did not like me cutting its hind leg. It tried to kick me several times, but I jumped out of the way. Then it would take off and fly around breathing electric bombs on the group, but I just kept running around so it missed. And when it landed, I went into stealth and went behind it and cut away. Then it went down.
I think I may have enough dragon parts for a new set of armor. Although I think I might need one more. It even dropped a fade touched dragon scale!
After killing the dragon we burned the western rampart.
With our inventories full, we had to return to Skyhold.
Josie informed me that she had a serious problem with assassins after her. She had been trying to restore her status to nobility, but as assassins killed the couriers and destroyed the paperwork. We met with the "noble" who had scheduled the meeting in Orlais. The noble turned out to be one of the assassins. I was going to kill him, but thought to hear him out. I could kill him anytime. There was a solution. A drawn out solution. We went back to Skyhold, and I spoke with Josie, and she wanted to try the long drawn out solution of getting the other family elevated to gentry status so that they would call off the assassins. Leiliana had another idea - a bit risky, but she thought she could have the original documents destroyed and that would end the contract. No documents, no contract. I'm sure that there would be copies somewhere else. No guild would operate without a copy of a contract. This would not be as simple as Leiliana figured. I went with Josie's plan, and it was almost a disaster since our courier got caught up in the apostate - Templar conflict and had to wait for a rescue by Inquisition forces. Josie, I hope you appreciate this.
Now if I could only figure out how to get into those doors of Toth and that other one. Even with the additional training provided by Leiliana, I cannot seem to get past the lock.
