There's hole in your reply. You did tell me how many you didn't use

War Cry. Guard per enemy: 20%. So with Shades and Pride Demon you could get 60% guard per use.

Heh, I told you how many survived the first cut. What I posted were second cut choices ;)  ...and thanks, good to know about the guard.

Even though the warrior can produce guard, I still get the fade touched item that gives guard when hit when I play warrior, that way it frees up using another power if I want instead of using war cry

Yup for sure. i can't ever see myself playing an Inquisitor now who doesn't use FT-Silverite (or Obsidian or i forget the other one). I even had it on my 2H warrior as soon as i could make some armor with it. War Cry is great for generating initial guard, but the FT materials make sure you can keep it :D

The time has come for me to use ReShade again. Yes, I'm leaving to screenshots hell, where every angle is possibly new great screenshot, where every step means game paused.

Our irreplaceable Spork made a request - Kaltenzahn fight. How could I refuse? Let me tell you. I don't remember having dragon fight as long as this one. But Spork's wish is my command. I present you with Kaltenzahn pictures - flight and fight!  :D

There are also FT materials that have chance to cast Unbowed. Also helpful if you have s&s warrior (which means you have addictional masterwork slot).

And FT items that give chance to activate Walking Fortress... Oh man. After playing Aine I prefer those over guard giving ones.

Yeah the Walking Fortress ones are great. It shouldn't be forgotten, though, that War Cry isn't just about gaining guard, it's about getting the enemies to focus on the warrior instead of the squishy mages and rogues, allowing them to get on with dealing their damage unmolested.

Unfortunately there is only one like I can give. Thank you very much for this. :D Epic screenshots. Sera as always, and in-flight from the dragon's eye view. You gave me a sneak-preview of those, and they're still epic! Also the bat signal one  I always have a difficult time getting a good one of a dragon in flight like that with her wings fully spread out. Also of note, the light saberspirit blade and the awesome staff. I gotta get me one of those for Meghan sometime.

Finally, irreplaceable? Gee, I, uhh...

True. Warrior should have War Cry or Challenge (or both) for gathering aggro.

But for no warrior characters I prefer Walking Fortress over guard generating masterwork. In that dragon fight I posted it tiggered after 2-3 hits since fading of the previous one.

You did it again, with another grat dragon pic. I guess maybe the last time I took any pics of dragon fights, I was still using FRAPS, which doesn't take a pic as often as bandicam... so that plus simply some bad luck. It's like always taking a picture with your thumb over the lens, or catching people not looking at the camera, heh.

Right... Let's try to tell you about Imtiyaz. I'm going to take inspiration from the mighty Spork and try to tell a story:

Weird recollections... Memories? A dream? Surely they can't be real, and they are so incomplete.

Imtiyaz remembered performing guard duty at a conference between the Mages and Templars; a chance for peace in a war that had torn the only land he'd known asunder. Was it his homeland truly? He wasn't sure. In any case, he hadn't been doing the type of mercenary work that he favoured, and the atmosphere had been tense, but it was in a good cause and all had appeared to be going smoothly. And then... What? Spiders? A strange glowing figure reaching out a hand. It couldn't be real and yet it was so vivid...

Spoiler

As he regained his senses he noticed a strange mark in his left hand. Glowing green, intermittently pulsating with strange and painful energy. What was happening to him? And now... Cassandra Pentaghast? The right hand of the Divine herself, bellowing in his ear, asking about some catastrophic explosion. A tear in the sky. Demons flooding into the world. And was that Sister Nightingale? The shadowy left hand of the Divine, talking Cassandra down from her anger? This was making less and less sense, and somehow he, a Tal-Vashoth mage, was the focal point of it all.

Spoiler

Though it made little sense, something was clearly terribly wrong. Two of Thedas's most influential people wouldn't be so distressed over nothing. The Divine was dead along with the elite of the chantry, mages and templars? All those people who had been around him at the conclave, and he was the sole survivor? It couldn't be true, and yet why would they be bothered about him other wise? Leliana left, and Cassandra led him outside to see... That was the breach?

Spoiler

The mark on Imtiyaz's hand pulsed with energy and he doubled up in pain. Cassandra seemed to think that it might be the key to sealing the hole in the sky. It didn't seem like anything that big could be sealed by one man, but he had little choice other than to follow her and at least try to help.

Spoiler

Ok... What do you think? A good start? More of this sort of thing? My screengrabs are mostly from the cinematic sections as I don't tend to take many in battle...

I like having FT material with Walking Fortress (on armor) plus Hidden Blades (on staff) for my Knight Enchanter. With her attack speed both of those tigger quite often.

Update on Stennis, the crafting-handicapped Nightmare 2H warrior.

Wellll, I don't think I'm going to achieve the less than 15 hours goal. I'm 8 hours in and still haven't started Templars. Not being able to craft gear is really slowing me down, paradoxically. You know, with crafting, I waste so much time mining metal and hunting leather, and then fiddling around at the forge, that I figured no crafting would be good for a speedrun.

But noooooo ...

(Long-winded whine about how much time I'm wasting ...)

Spoiler

So, anyway, enough complaining. Despite everything taking longer than I expected, I'm actually having a lot of fun. I decided on no gear crafting because I wanted more of a challenge, and I'm getting exactly what I bargained for. It's great to have long standing expectations turned on their heads. For example, when you loot a chest, dontcha hate getting common armor and weapon upgrades and even gold after a certain point, but love getting schematics? Well, I have exactly the opposite reaction.

Opens chest and rummages around.

Schematic for Superior Hunter Coat? Bah! (Tosses on the ground).

10 Everite? Useless!

1 Fade-Touched Ring Velvet (Hidden Blades x4)? I suppose I could sell that for 2 gold.

Disciple Staff Blade (Level 7)? Now you are talking! Come to Papa!

63 gold! YES!!!

Oh, and rift drops! I went on a rift closing spree trying to get some decent rings, but the RNG decided to troll me (again) and only dropped rings for skills nobody has. At least I can sell them, and I leveled up and got more practice doing battles where any hit is potentially fatal.

And that's the biggest change. My approach to combat has to be much more deliberate, much better planned. No running in and button mashing, that's a recipe for many reloads. Mobs have to be softened up first with grenades and ranged attacks. Knock back, stunning, freezing, shocking ... CC in general ... anything that slows down enemy damage output is critical. Evasion skills now get a prime spot in the 8 active slots.

If you are jaded and looking for a change, I recommend this handicap. All you need is a ton of patience.

It's all good!

OK... Let's go a little Further:

Imtiyaz trudged warily through Haven, following Cassandra. He didn't need her to point out that the people were eyeing him with distrust and suspicion. He could see it quite clearly and, given the circumstances, he couldn't blame them. They exited the village, climbing a mountain path and crossing a bridge, in the middle of which, Cassandra decided to free her Qunari captive from his bonds. She was beginning to see that, at least for the time being, he posed no direct threat.

Spoiler

They set off higher into the mountain, all the time approaching the vivid verdant scar in the heavens, when another violent surge of energy pulsed through Imtiyaz's hand, causing him to collapse onto the floor in a paroxysm of pain. If it hadn't been before, it was now very clear to the mage that something needed to be done, and fast. To make matters worse, glowing green meteors were raining down from the sky all around. Cassandra helped him to his feet, and they carried grimly on their way.
