Work was meh on Tuesday...Idiot was dragging someones broken down car. Thankfully the police resolved the situation. Bloody moron. If the person continued to drag the persons car I would of for sure called the cops myself.
Sure, but who would be the lucky guy! *sighs* I have 4 characters sitting at around this spot in the game, approx lvl 3, waiting to be played, 2 of which are these guys. Dante (purple eyes guy) and Saegar (mustache-guy). Saegar was meant to look a bit like Aragorn (Viggo) from the lord of the rings but it didn't quite go to plan, instead I'm told he looks like an actor I've never heard of lol.
Saddest thing is I may have killed Cory-pory on 14 characters but I've only 'unlocked' 3 romance times for DAI, I still have Cassandra, Dorian, Sera, Josephine and Solas to experience... I don't choose the spoilers option in the DA Keep as I need more "achievements" for this game to get so that's what I let myself see the hidden tiles as. There's not that many left actually. Mostly romance and companion tiles.

I like the way your two guys look. I especially like your bottom guy because of the handlebar mustashe.
I marked this post for reply and, by the time I got through all the newer posts, forgot what I wanted to say. So, I'll wing it. One thing that comes to mind: make sure you have extra health potions and extra potion slot perks before doing IYHSB. It will make things easier. Bees and Pitch Grenades are your friends, as is Static Cage. Also, terrors cheat (even at level 4) so you have to cheat right back.
Yeah, Solas' robe on fire had Tanith snickering in the background. Sadly, after a few banters, the mage-quisition has fallen silent. I might have to bring in new blood just to get people to talk.
Terrors/Lesser/Greater and Envy are unfair on any difficulty. If you deal with three or four and if they cluster all around you and bend their backs three times in a Do-Rei-Mi-So fashion your ****ed. They will keep you laying down on the ground and you and your party will not be able to get back up. The only thing I can reccomend is using knockdown type attacks, freezing, or attacks that would cancel their attacks like fire attacks.
I honestly haven't had that conversation yet with Solas. However I hate leaving banters unfinished myself. I still wonder who would win that chess game of Solas VS Iron Bull. I cannot finish it now because I got the JOH DLC after beating Chasimess where Iron Bull and Solas were my most taken allies.
Kyrrah is my canon Inquisitor, solely because I have a bit of a girl-pixel-crush on her lol. I think she's gorgeous, it's better playing a character you really like right? hehe. She's actually a remake of one of my first inquisitors, Kirrah, who I really liked but wanted to change a few things (this was before BE was released) so Kyrrah was created, and I never regretted it!
Cullen's always been my main romance because it's so easy, no approval ratings needed etc, Josephine's probably the same being an adviser too but I've enver played a lady-lady romance before and pretty much only play female characters so... wasn't sure how comfortable I'd be with a Josephine romance, I will try Sera's eventually.
I only look at the keep for new world states of DAo/DA2 or to see how many more tiles (achieves!) I have hidden still
Saegar is meant to be my oldest Inquisitor (well Herald for now) so far (early-40's), so suits Cassandra that way I guess. He is my 2-hander warrior, preferring greatswords that look awkward to swing but fancy! If you're gonna kill some evil peeps, do it in style!
Well if I were to do a Fan fic or whatever my cannon inquisitors would be the Vollsans being Amolla Vollsa

and her brother Draven Vollsa

My cannon Hawke would still be Kattie Aubreck.

Who would still live on (sacrifice Stroud) because in my epilouge she would be searching for her long lost twin sister Kaetlissa Aubreck...

because despite Katties personal feelings for her long lost sister and as the story suggests she mysteriously vanishes after shortly becoming queen. However like how I did their playthroughs Amolla would cover the templar side of things while Draven will cover the mage side of things. Amolla would wind up with Sera and Draven would wind up with both Cassandra and Dorian. I liked how I played them as well were Amolla was a dead serious god complex air headed warrior woman while Draven is a openly bisexual aloof warrior who hardly takes things seriously unless people like Corypheus rub him the wrong way then he'll go into rage mode (REAVER) and cut them down like a dog.
I'll be honest... way back in DA:O, after Cullen gave his "you have to kill all the mages" speech at the Circle Tower on Lake Calenhad, and he refused to see reason... I know, I know, he had good reason to be suspicious ... I've had a hard time liking the guy. His character took major strides forward in DA2, but it still wouldn't have been enough for me to really like him, until he joined in on "the dawn will come." Then I thought, "yeah okay he's alright." But not enough to romance, heh.
But I know how you feel. I haven't done any of the male/male romances in these games either, but I hear good things about the Dorian romance, so I'm gonna try it out. I do like to get as much out of these games as i can, anyway.
Yep, I'll stand by my pick of Saegar then for sure. i dunno if you like to roll out two warriors in your party when you go questing, but playing a 2H warrior is a blast no matter who you romance
I felt the same way about Cullen myself and in certain ways I still do because the last time I played DA 2 he even says "mages deserve to be treated like the dogs that they are" or something to that effect. However after playing Moonphase Demoir

Maybe he has a good reason to hate mages. When a mage like Moonphase turns on her own kind (killed Wynne, killed everyone in tower, got into blood magic, made deal with desire demon to take Conner's soul) and deals other dastardly deeds like killing prisoners for no reason, siding with werewolves to kill elves, breaking up relationships, cheating on loved ones (seeing whores more than Liliana), and defiling ancient remains maybe he has a good reason to hate mages. However not all mages are bad as Moonphase and Fenris's master. Hooking up Vyre Dite felt meaningful because Cullen realizes that it's not always a group of people who are bad but just one or two that are bad. The mage that instigated the whole tower incident was a bad person. Cullen acted out of anger because of that guy. Besides a desire demon does point out if you play a female mage that Cullen did sexually fantisize about your female mage so clearly he doesn't hate all mages.
That's right.
If playing as a warrior, use you grappling hook to pull the thing in your face and knock it down and start slicing and dicing.
Grappling chain+upgrade is very helpful indeed. with the "GET OVER HERE!!!" and kickdown this helps you and your group pwn anyone in a jiffy. This is useful against Terrors/Greater/Lesser and Envy.
About Cullen - I usually played female mages in DAo, and got the whole "you're bad too because mage" speech in the circle tower. I liked him in DA2 though, playing a sarcastic Hawke mage was fun and the comments back to him sort of fit in some cases so in the end my sarcastic Hawke made me like his character.
On party make up, pfft I take whoever the heck I feel like at any given time, even when playing nightmare mode. Sure some make fights a tad more difficult but that's never bothered me. The last thing I think of is "oh I have 3 mages and a rogue as my questing group".. until I come to a wall that needs to be bashed in, then it's "so no warrior, which spell might break this one"
However I'm not the best person to come to for Nightmare mode tips. I don't even use tac-cam unless I'm trying to take combat screenshots. Only thing I can say is keep gear and weapons for everyone the best you can get/make (while looking stylish as well, personal preference in single player games). And make sure to concentrate when in a fight, most of my nightmare deaths are from not keeping an eye on what's going on in the battlefield. the rest are from Hafter's Woods... Jaws of Hakkon, however, is a different story. It's harder *is not looking forward to this on Kyrrah* I even had to make new armour for it lol.
Saegar will be my first 2-hander I properly play. I had a little dwarf at one stage, ages ago though. I have reaver or champion left to unlock the hidden tiles of in the keep. One of those has to fit a 2-hander right? lol
I haven't tried CHAMPION yet for DAI and may in time. I have tried it in DAO (and DA2?) and wasn't a big fan of it because all it is is a improved defense set which allows you to survive crazy fights but if that person is the final guy last standing VS a slew of darkspawn and the arch demon you don't have a ability that acts as a ace in the hole However I am not saying Reaver is better though. It's more riskyer. Imagine it like this, if you have your reaver character down to 1 HP you can deal 9,999 damage to anything and anyone. This is very darn useful in NIGHTMARE DIFFICULTY if you want to fight the dragons. Sure ou would be eating healing potions and regeneration potions but dealing 3,000-5,000 with half your health gone to me is a big plus. It is a tricky class to play but to me champion has not killer attack in it's pool compared to reaver.
Well, this was supposed to be part 3 of the mage-quisition in the Western Approach but we'll get to that. Since both Blackwall and Cassandra had business in the area, they got to come out and play for a while.
First, though, a trip through Coracavus and a not-so-pleasant surprise on the other end.
One giant down, but more were in the area. Seriously, are the Venatori breeding them or what?!
Terrors cheat even when not playing on NM
Found a loot pot I hadn't seen before and had to finagle my way to it. White Avvar Elk to the rescue!
Taking over Echoback Fort. Servis don't look so good.

Plus, floaty Blackwall!
Knocking off a rogue mage for Cassandra
Finally, the astarium cave has a pretty cool-looking sarcoghagus. Would love to know what the inscription translates to.
To be continued.....
Good pictures. I hate terrors equally as the next guy. Lol.
