Update on Stennis, 2H Tal-vashoth, crafting handicapped, Nightmare speedrunner.

Finished Templars in a bit over an hour with Blackwall, Vivienne and Solas. Nothing too noteworthy happened, just another traipse through dreamland.

I don't know why, but this screenshot makes me laugh. I guess it is the absurd difference in height. Anyone got a caption that would fit?



The boss battle at the end would have been a disaster, if it weren't for bee grenades, upgraded as much as possible pre-Skyhold. They did all the work, while everyone just tried to stay out of the demon's way and not get one-shotted by an ambush attack.

I'll probably stick with Blackwall/Vivienne/Solas through the Haven Raid, then once specializations are available, swap out Blackwall for Cole.

This just came up on my big random Spotify playlist. Coupled with the origins stuff that people are posting, it's making me fancy doing another playthrough. Think I'll stick with Inquisition for now, though...

The Battle of the Fallow River.  

 

Well that was fun.  Started off today all full of vigor to get the job done and everything else, but then I got a bit...trapped.  I was trying to get to the last o the beacons in the mire and you know, use them, but I ran across a river instead, figuring it would get me there.  It did not.  And I was trapped by the water, with corpses rising out...and then my battle drew one bog fisher...that battle drew another...and on and on it went...I believe I killed five of the suckers.  Then stepped in the water like three additional times.  Which did lead to a lot of experience, but it was a nice, long, rolling fire fight...which was a bit of a stressor.  lol.  

 

But yeah.  Then it was to get the two beacons...yikes .  And then onto the final boss of the area.  It was funny.  I used the same tactic I used with Kara, I drew the Avarr out of hiding, but the rest of the Avarr did not play ball.  

 

Then anyways off t Haven.  And then did all the pre In Your Heart Shall Burn stuff.

Yeah, with Merrill's eluvian, I have had her smash it, I just haven't got around to playing that world state in DAI yet.  I know it's good for her to let something that hurts her go, but, eh, it's a personal thing about making hard decisions for other people and how slippery the slope gets for me.  Plus, I'm still playing around with different decisions in the one I'm in.  I should try something else for a while.  I've been meaning to do the one where Alistair is a grey warden.  Maybe I'll combine the two.

I've played a few world states with whole and smashed Eluvian. I like to mix them.  My first game was with Alistair as Grey Warden. I saw you need to choose between him and Hawke... NOPE! Game deleted. New world state and Quizzy created 

Tho I think I grew up to play world state with him as Warden. I think I'll be able to handle this decision... I think...

 

O___o! What is Mistress Poulin doing in my Garden?!  She's supposed to help the people from Sahrnia, not going for a walk in Skyhold! *kicks her out*

In most of my playthroughs she's working for Inquisition, so it wouldn't be surprising if she was there

Thanks.  I was actually thinking of having him go by Sam since the full name is quite a mouth...er, handful to type. But Tal works too.

Sam work's too, and I only want a nickname because,as you say, it's a handful to type the full name hehe. I'm not the best typist out there as it is. 

 

Yeah, they probably just reused her default model for a random NPC. (there are so many twins walking around in Thedas) Tho the elf in the courtyard is probably just one of the Elf Sentinels which decided to acompany you after WPHW asked Cillian if he could teach him.

So much awesome colour. I love it haha... I think Vivienne looks amazing, and I know what her new outfit is gonna be in my game. I never tried out the dragon armor on anyone though. Maybe I'll try and do JoH before the endgame sometime.

On Ameridan's Trail

 

After Bruce left the northmost camp and found a cave with Tevinter architecture in it.

After they left the cave, they found an acient ruin, which was guarded by Hakkonites, but they were soon dealt with. It didn't take long and Professor Kenric and Scout Harding arrived at the ruin and they started to investigate the ruins.

There they found a shrine, or better two shrines. One for the Maker and one for Ghilan'nain.

They found some suspicous runes and when Bruce activated the two switches next to them, a statue outside started to glow.

The group the started to activate all trail markers until the last one destroyed the icy wall infront of the Fortress it was protecting.

Bruce then talked to Thane Svarah Sun-Hair about what they wanted to do next.

The Inquisition and the Avvar then attacked the Gate of the Fortress together and Bruce soon stood infront of the door.

Inside, they made their way to the place where the Dragon was bound and there had to fight Gurd Harofsen, who had been transformed into a Revenant.

Talking to the Last Inquisitor

 

Bruce and Co were surprised to see that Ameridan somehow still was alive. And not just that, he also was a mage. An elf mage to be correct.

They then informed him about what had happened in those 800 years he had been frozen in time and he told them, that he wasn't able to hold the Dragon any longer. With a last wish for luck he bid them farewell and perished in front of their eyes.

With Ameridan's death broke the spell he had placed on Hakkon and himself and the Dragon was free again.

That meant they had to fight the Dragon, but first Bruce, Cassandra, Cole and Solas went to gather the memories of Ameridan.

I only ever finished JoH once (so far), and that was with my Lavellan knight-enchanter. I agree that the dragon armor looks not-so-good on an elf heh. Which is kinda why i didn't want to keep using it. Think maybe Ameridan uses a human model, like Sera does?

After the fight, Scout Harding came to the battlefield and talked to Bruce about Ameridan and the responsibility of being the Inquisitor.

Finally free of the mortal vessel he had been bound to, Hakkon Winterbreath's ghost flew up into the night sky.

Bruce then finaly looted the Dragon's skull and took a last look of the moon, before he headed back to Stone-Bear Hold.

As they talked to Thane Sun-Hair, she asked Bruce for a favor. He should pass judgment over Storvacker, for having been captured by the Hakkonites and not fighting back. Bruce then did the only thing he found appropriate and recuited her for the Inquisition.

She seems to like Cullen.

Back in Skyhold went Bruce to Sera to relax a little with some Skyhold Cookies.

After he had talked to most of the other companions (which all didn't have anything new to say) Bruce went to Blackwall, who finally had finished his Rocking Griffon. (I didn't know their friendship were that high, the cutscene totally catched me flat-footed. O.o)
