No worries here.  I did Champions 1 1/2 times, and, after meeting Calpernia, will not be doing that quest again.  I've met Lyskias in Redcliffe so many times, if it was all one inquisitor, she'd know every detail of the guy's life story.

It does make your Qunari plot idea much more amusing, considering what the Qunari do to mages.  No cushy Ben Hassrath job for them.  Both would make very unlikely spies, so they'd be perfect.

@Birefringement - your screens are phenomenal.  The transcription error with the Venatori guard's head is priceless.  You did blow my headless harlequin theory out of the water.  You can see harlequin's scalp and hairline inside the cowl, so it does render, I just haven't seen it.  Nice.  Captions are great!

Aw, thank you.

I never knew people had theories about the harlequins. "The truth is in there."  :)

I don't know why, but this screenshot makes me laugh. I guess it is the absurd difference in height. Anyone got a caption that would fit?

Don't ask me why. But this immediately came to my mind:

"You damn right it's limited. No cup holder, no back seat. Just a shiny d*** with two chairs in it. I guess we the balls just draggin' the f*** along."

Wow, that was definitely weird.  I was responding to a post about choosing your destiny, death as a nice, long, nap vs. hell (there are other options) and it didn't register at all.  Must have been TMI.  At any rate, I'm an adopted, Native American woman who was raised as white Presbyterian and lied to for 20 years about her heritage, kind of.  (Dad always knew, and pointed out my true heritage every chance he got,, but he wasn't allowed to be to convincing, or Mom wouldn't want me.  It was tough enough to get table room there already.)

The truth I was going to share was imparted by my 1st husband, who earned his angel wings at just age 22.  You choose your own fate.  If there's a hell, it's guilt and a sense of missed opportunity.  It's being ignorant on purpose because what you're seeing isn't what you've been taught.  It's not being willing to learn what's real because you're afraid.  Use your eyes.  Use your brain.  There's nothing wrong with what you're perceiving.  If there is, it might be the thing you're perceiving and not your sense of perception.  Always learn.  Always be willing to admit you're wrong.  Never take anything at face value, unless you choose to.  You're going to make mistakes and your intentions aren't always good.  If there's a problem, fix it and move on.  If someone won't forgive, it's their problem, not yours.  For someone who rejected everything the system tried to throw at him, he did pretty good.

We may never see a spirit of Hope, but that's because we can't see what's on top of us.

So you thought the other level 12 rift was because of the Druffalo? Check this out! Zero potions used!

No sorry I can't be so gloaty... The second wave spawned in such a way that Solas and Imtiyaz could dispel all the demons but one. I am pleased though. Judicious use of The Black Emporium and trips to The Hidden Oasis to gather Paragon's Luster mean my crew is very well kitted out for where they are...

Thank you

I've played a few world states with whole and smashed Eluvian. I like to mix them.  My first game was with Alistair as Grey Warden. I saw you need to choose between him and Hawke... NOPE! Game deleted. New world state and Quizzy created
Tho I think I grew up to play world state with him as Warden. I think I'll be able to handle this decision... I think...

In most of my playthroughs she's working for Inquisition, so it wouldn't be surprising if she was there

I'll try  ^_^ I don't promise anything

The only way I could do it was to have a Hawke that wasn't mine. I couldn't leave Alistair in the Fade since he was HoF's LI so I used a made up male Hawke that I never played. I head-canoned he had a thing for Aveline and that made him perpetually grumpy since she basically ignored him.

Similar thing for the new game I just started with Sam: fake world state where everyone who could be dead is dead, and pretty much everyone else's life sucks. I could never play it for real, but it will be neat to see how bad off the Warden and Hawke left things, and if Sam can fix it or just continues the disaster.

I guess I kinda got lucky in my first game. having no idea about what was waiting in the Fade, I thoght i'd set up the world state so Alistair would be Hawke's Warden buddy. He was king instead and Stroud was an easy choice. Of course, in Kubrie's game, Alistair was the the warden buddy and...well... I'll put this as diplomatically as I can: It was Hawke who reported back to Weisshaupt we all returned to Adamant Fortress. one of these times I'm gonna have to set up another Loghain world state and leave Hawke in the Fade for that.

EDIT: oops.

We may never see a spirit of Hope, but that's because we can't see what's on top of us.

How did I miss this last night? Thanks for sharing it. My grandfather's parents died when he was an infant. He was raised by foster parents and didn't even know his true surname until he was a teenager, so I've a little insight into what that must have been like for you, although in his case he was raised in the same community that his parents came from.

As an atheist myself, and as such I don't believe in heaven or hell as being anything other than inventions of the human mind anyway, so I definitely agree that in many respects life is what you make it.

I find a lot of truth in what you say. One should always try to think for one's self and be prepared to learn and be proven wrong.

I would add though, that as humans we love to make sense of things by fitting them into stories. Our memories in particular are quite unreliable and are basically just stories we tell ourselves connecting events that did happen to us with things we've been told and even that we have imagined. The distinction can blur quicker than you think.

Also even what we see, hear and sense in the moment is a construction of our brain, and there's so much sensory data flowing in that it takes shortcuts and uses algorithms to create an illusion of "reality" that's not actually 100% accurate. That's one way that magicians fool us - we see what our brain expects to happen while the magician quickly does something unexpected that we don't catch and... The card has vanished! So I'd say... Be aware that you can be mistaken/fooled and look for independent verifications of unexpected/weird things.

Basically what I'm saying is, don't be too reliant on your own perception, or at least always understand that you can be fooled and try to find ways to check that you haven't been. Be aware that your memories can become inaccurate very quickly, especially if they are of something weird that you were struggling to make sense of in the first place. That's why eye-witness testimony of crimes is becoming understood to be nowhere near as reliable or important as it was once thought to be.

Hmm... Maybe we're using the word "perception" slightly differently, here. In any case, thanks again for sharing.

So true.  Everything is full of weirdness, and yesterday was one of those days.  I had a weird one indeed, especially writing such things.

Electrical storm with drenching rains + 1 week high temperatures + chronic pain flareup + sleep loss + the computer's doing it again.  I'm a little out of sorts.

That glitch with hibernate happened again yesterday, where I had to unplug the computer to turn it off.  I'm thinking there's a bad power button.  That would interfere with what normally works to wake it, pressing the button briefly, and my keyboard and mouse seem to register later in the boot sequence than the power supply (odd, that.)  A $20 power button is a cheaper fix than a new case, especially the one I have because it's oversized for ease of working on and cooling.  Wouldn't it be nice if I was right for once?  Going into the preferences and turning off sleep and hibernate didn't make a difference.  Maybe I should also turn of power saver on the monitor.

At any rate, when everything was finally working, I took the guys around to wrap up the Western Approach and start making some serious progress in the Graves.  That was where things went sideways.

First, there were the relief supplies teams.  First, two teams showed up in the same place (neither one with loot to share,) then they chose right in front of "the surprise" with that uninvited picnic guest.  Why do people in Thedas make dates?

Spoiler

Then, something strange happened, the worst case of being teleported when shifting to tactical camera that I've ever seen.  We spotted the rift here

Spoiler

while Elissa was rock climbing looking for caves to explore.  I switched to tactical, and she moved several hundred meters, to where she was before she went climbing.  The team, however, appeared next to the rift ready to fight.  Quite a difference in location.  She had been standing on the point of rock where the small rupture is, but instead, the team is right in front of the rock, and she's back where she started, but there's this weird thing outlined in front of her.

Spoiler

Oh, and I could be fighting a great bear too.  It's just around the corner from where I'm standing now...

Spoiler

This is not going well.  I'll switch back to isometric, see where I really am, and pick a battle to fight.  Well, I found out what the box that was outlined was.  More weird.

Spoiler

On the plus side, Elissa was rejoined by the team and we got to fight the bear first.

Spoiler

I rightly judged that both the computer and I had had enough for one day, and backed out of the game.  The screen where you ultimately quit the game CTDed.  It looks like I just got out in time.  Hopefully that battle saved.  I got 9 great bear hide.

Talking of getting drops from killing bears, Imtiyaz killed six or seven bears last night, including the three large ones that drop the claws and received... three bear hide in total. Is it just me or has someone at BioWare turned down the amount of drops you get?

Q: How many Dwarves does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: All of them. One changes the lightbulb and the rest will worship him as Paragon.

How many Grey Wardens does it take to change a lightbulb?

One, but they will inevitably be electrocuted in the process.

How many Dalish does it take to change a lightbulb?

None. In Arlathan we could light a room by the power of will alone, and we shall regain that knowledge without recourse to your shemlen trickery.

Ah, okay. Uhm, this close?  (I know it's not the guide, but I don't have close up picture of her) Actually I only wanted to know it, because they all had to 100% the same faces (I moved tac-cam around for close ups and literally only saw "clones".

And Shale was voiced by a woman too :)

The only time (for now) where I left Hawke in the Fade, was in my first PT, when I had made a Keep import error and got the default WS. Literally my reaction was:

"You are NOT my Hawke! I don't want you!" >(

Aww xD ja, ja, deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache. (actually German is my second language, my first is Swiss-German. And yes, there's a difference. ;))

In German she doesn't sound "old", I think she got just one of the re-used NPC voices who walk around everywhere.
