I'm also a proud member of the 'no-mods' club, and the 'too many playthroughs going at once' club. 'no make-up' club is fitting too!
Thankyou, she's going to be fun to play.
*fidgets and glances at her collection of 835 screenshots for Kyrrah alone*
The forums are an awesome place for my obsession with picture tales
Yeah... I left 'no-mods' club some time ago. Great enviroment, amazing memebers and a lot of beautiful memories... but my willpower wasn't strong enough
I expect beautiful and loooooooo... *time passes* ...ooooong picture tale!
Anything that combines "Solas" and "romance" is a nightmare!
Haha, am I seeing things or someone's not fan of Solas? I'm surely not But I really want to have romanced Quizzy in case of DLC with that idiot. Fortunately it's not going to be completionist pt.

Awesome sketch!
Once Kyrrah's playthrough is fully completed I'll do up some sort of picture tale.. I won't use all 835 pics though! it will likely come in many parts since I haven't fully finished her playthrough just yet. Have to keep myself occupied with sharing little tidbits as I go haha.
I'm also someone who isn't a big fan of Solas...

I did eventually manage to locate the front door of the keep. The trick was simple. Keep looking up at it and circle it until you find a door.
I could not find the stairway to nowhere.
@Gillie-chan or anyone else who knows where it is, would you be a sweetie and save me hours of google-time and post directions, under a spoiler or something. Thank you. I've really gotten to know the keep pretty well at this point, and I'm not going to find it without help.
I did eventually remember that the reason I can never find the front door is that I always forget that the big part of a castle is in the back, behind all those courtyards and gardens (where the troops can decimate attackers.) But, if I go this way, there's still a frost rune.
Spoiler
I whiled away the time taking in the sights (and trying to find landmarks.)
I was in the Emprise, so I was looking for desire demon statues. Looking at them, I also noticed that they are interspersed with Tevinter soldiers who are being clutched by humanoid arms and surrounded in something serpentine and scaly. With the demons being decorations along roadways, do you think they serve a cautionary message? The connection there is that gibbets were placed at crossroads and bones buried in bridge foundations. Roads have always had a symbolic significance. Are the demons and victims there as a warning of what happens if you leave the road? They're very tall bridges, so common sense would make leaving it inadvisable, but some people do need to be warned. Good a reason as any, I guess.
I have other pictures for this one, by Judicael's Crossing, but Bull's warning was pretty fitting, so I left it.
Spoiler
This one's taken by Drakon's Rise camp, looking toward the first camp at Sarnia.
Spoiler
And, a bit of extrapolation. The two dog statues guarding the bridge. Per Fenris, mabari were bred in Tevinter. Dogs were guard animals too. These are sight hounds, not war dogs, but they're still dogs.
Finally, this was on the way back, at the Elfsblood River. Nope, not scales, definitely tentacles. Wonder what the Vints had against octopi? Oh, tropical, they hurt fishing and trade.
Spoiler
Found the front door. The big, red, glowing, dramatic entrance should have given it away. I'll remember to check for it next time.
Spoiler
You don't say, Michel? We're glowing like this for our health, literally.
Spoiler
I always dread the 2 infected giants. I think those fights take more out of you than Imshael. I tried softening everyone up and confusing them first this time, and the fights were really too easy.
Spoiler
Naturally, I did try to veer off-course and do the second-to-last fight before the middle. I always read the last page first.
Spoiler
Thank you, whoever mentioned that Imshael was one of the Forgotten Ones. That makes this line make sense.
Spoiler
Not only did I get that chest in the rafters for the second time ever, I found Josie's standard.
Spoiler
It's a bell and tokens. Communication and exchange. Makes sense. BTW, the pole for her standard is visible in the war room, the camera just doesn't catch it in the frame. Maybe in a cutscene.
For the first time, I actually managed to leave that keep the same way I got in.
Spoiler
I did manage to fall in a hole. You know how you try to get out by switching party members? They're joiners.
You know I'm with Cullen, right Blackwall?
Spoiler
I found this note after I claimed the keep.
Spoiler
When I was a phone nurse, I could never figure out why the kid who wouldn't eat vegetables would drink bleach. This is why.
Spoiler
I also figured out why the dwarves in the Emprise are mutating. They're children of the stone, and it's been corrupted. They are going to be the first to suffer, just like with the blight. That's not good.
On to happier things, I bought out all the schematics I wanted, and have enough cash left over to go buy some really nice armor or the Wrath of Lovias schematic. One of the chests on the walls of the keep had a ton of great bear hide, and Leliana's off getting more. I'd better go check on Bonny and get those roads open.

You actually access the stairway from the Quarry. Start from the Tower Camp. Enter the Quarry. You need to cross the bridge from your first picture and follow that path. You get to this place:
Spoiler
Follow that path to the very end. Now you're here.
Spoiler
See that strange wall? It's your entrance.
Spoiler
Then just follow this path...

...and you're in.
Spoiler
Now just go all the way down the stairs!

I love that Merrill is from the same clan as Warden Mahariel.
I love that Inquisitor Cadash is related, however distantly, to everyone’s favorite bird-hating golem, Shale.
I love that the Hawke family is related to Warden Amell.
I don’t love that Warden Surana was taken so early that they can’t remember who their family was… but I do love the potential that gives fanfiction writers to invent their own fascinating backgrounds.
I love that Warden Brosca is related to the prince of Orzammar (and that they get a statue in a special spot in Orzammar).
I love that the Trevelyan family is related to House Pavus.
I love that the Cousland’s ancestors were involved in Flemeth’s story… and also werewolves.
I love that Clan Lavellan was savvy enough to send a spy to the Conclave, and then bold enough to demand the Inquisitor be returned to them unharmed.
I love that Warden Tabris’s mom passed down a knife that has been in their family since the Exalted Marches called the Fang of Fen'Harel (!!!!)
I love the letter Adaar gets from the Valo-Kas Mercenaries that has a P.P.S. that says “If you are dead, disregard this message.”
I love that House Aeducan was begun by a dwarf who led the dwarven armies against the darkspawn during the First Blight, holy ****!
I love that Serault is the last destination of Divine Justinia before the Conclave, and that the poor Marquis of Serault gets kidnapped and needs to be rescued by the Inquisition!
Basically, I love that the Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor (and even the Marquis of Serault) all have a place and history and a gods-be-damned stake in this world, regardless of where they come from.

@Magdalena here you go (you were almost there when you got the Veilfire Torch ) (snip)
(Mind blown!) I've been in the little Veilfire dead-end a dozen times and never found that, and not for lack of trying. I didn't know anything was actually there, but had a hunch, based on the layout of the map, but after a lot of jumping around and searching, I found nothing. And here I thought I had conquered all of EdL, including all the out-of-bounds (OOB) areas!
Love this thread. I learn something new every day.
And ... paying it back, here's a neat little tableau I found in the OOB near Valeska's Watch. Somebody went through a lot of trouble doing the level design for something you can't legally get to!

Hi guys and gals. So, quick off-topic update into the life of Spork. It's a holiday weekend here and that means family visiting.
Holiday weekend? What holiday would that be? No, wait, don't tell me, Wikipedia is the Infinite Book of Knowledge and will have the answer ...
Colorado Statehood Day?
Irish August Bank Holiday? (I guess they have one every month?)
Icelandic Frídagur verslunarmanna?
Zambian Farmer's Day?
Samoan Labor Day?
Swiss National Day, commemorates Switzerland becoming a single unit in 1291? (I suppose if the history of your country goes back to the Dark Ages, you get a lot of holidays!)
Tonganese Official Birthday and Coronation Day of the King of Tonga?
Neopagan Wheel of the Year, Lughnasadh or Lammas?
Canadian Civic Holiday?
No, I got it, it has to be this!
International Beer Day!

Thanks for the help. I did wonder why that dead end was set up the way it was, other than stuff gets knocked over and they needed someplace to put the torch. I can't wait to see what that wreath looks like on Elissa. I might need to make a trip to BE for a makeup update. Something more of a wood nymph type elf.
I decided to buy the dagger schematic instead, and was stupid enough to assume it was the kind with a grip slot. Oops. I'll craft a dagger just for templars, maybe, but that's good money down the drain. The dagger looks cool, and does a lot of damage, but I like the versatility of having grips you can interchange rather than swapping daggers. More chance to see what the various masterworks do, I guess. It was only money. I'll make more.
Magdalena's got inventory of her own to manage. The life forms in the sink are well on the way to developing simple tools. See you later.

OOB areas... I always try to get as far as I can And there's black spots cleaning...
Nice finding! I need to check it out next time I wander (aimlessly) around Emprise.

You are absolutely right, PapaCharlie!
Hmmmm......It's almost apple season. Maybe cider.

Time to celebrate!

I'm sure Elissa will look lovely
Fortunately for me my favourite dagger schematic is loot, so I don't need to buy it. Later on it's almost impossible to be broke. Well... I sometimes manage that, but that's rare.
I decided to get Sacha and Rowan to Haven. While Sacha (archer on casual EDIT: normal, I forgot I'm playing on normal) was a piece of cake... Rowan (2h on nightmare) was another matter. More precisely Pride Demon was another matter.
Spoiler
Mwa...

Shut up!
...HA!
But I managed. I had to.
After getting to Haven with both girls I went to BE to get their sliders. Rowan got a few tweaks because she looked kinda strange in some cutscenes. I hope I fixed those problems.
Also I decided to play Sacha in turns with Phrona So my screenshot posts will be mixed.

Alessandra met with Cassandra in the armoury to discuss Cullen's lyrium withdrawal. While they both know of Cullen's decision not to take lyrium since he joined the Inquisition, his frequent headaches were starting to affect his duties. Cassandra didn't think a replacement for Cullen wasn't necessary, therefore, she suggested to Alessandra to talk to Cullen.
An unnecessary distraction. I won't allow the Commander to show any weakness while he's in charge of my army...
Arriving in Cullen's office, the Inquisitor stepped back as an incoming philter case crashed against the wall. "Maker's breath! I didn't hear you enter!" Cullen gasped then hung his head in shame, "Forgive me..."
Alessandra maintained her calm demeanour as she cautiously approached the Commander. "Cullen, talk to me. Tell me what's on your mind."
Cullen paced back and forth while he recalled painful memories from his time in Kirkwall. Nightmares plagued him each night as he tried to resist the tempting blue chains snaking around him like a lover's embrace. But the more he resisted, the more tempting it became and he was losing the battle.
Spoiler
"I've failed the Chantry once... I won't fail the Inquisition!" he cried punching the bookcase.
"No. You won't," Alessandra responds softly stepping in front of him. "There is no failure..."
Spoiler
That said, Alessandra made her decision. (She looks so sinister in this pic)
Cullen gazed into the Inquisitor's ruby eyes and sighed in defeat. He slowly turned to the remaining blue flasks on his desk.
Spoiler
"It is for the best. You have a duty to fulfill," Alessandra said turning to leave.
"As you command, Inquisitor," Cullen responded automatically. The lyrium chains wrapped around him tightly.
Spoiler
He will never break free of them again...
To be continued...
This was hard to watch when I played this quest, but it was for the sake of Alessandra's story. She's not in a relationship with anyone. In my dark world state, both the Warden and Hawke had no romances either.

Just another post on Alessandra II, she's currently at level 18. I was playing her Reaver prowess on the battlefield yesterday and took a few screen caps.
Showing off Dragon Rage

And Devour
Spoiler
I also crafted new black/red armour and greatsword for her (I'll get a clear pic of her later). She has a high heal on kill rate on both armour and weapon, accessories included which makes her unkillable no matter how much damage is taken. Again, I added a hidden blades masterwork on her greatsword. Alessandra's main team that accompanies her everywhere are Blackwall, Sera and Dorian.

That would be me (tho I celebrated by playing DAIMP ) And sadly we don't have that many holydays, which aren't also celebrated somewhere else =/ an exception might be the Sechseläuten.
Argh! Imgur is doing its, "I will only actually upload half the photos you select even though I look like I'm uploading each and every one" bit again. It was working fine just an hour ago. Anyone know if it has a daily limit on what you can upload? It can't be that low though....I only have 75 total today.

I was going to ask this before... Which difficulties are you normally playing?

Hmnmn... I know that it sometimes doesn't want to upload bigger batch, but I don't think I've ever hit a limit.
And I think Spork uploaded far more pictures while telling the tale of mp dragon slaying.

Yeah, I've had it freeze up before and have to start the upload over again. But with this, I can't even reliably do one at a time since half the time it won't have uploaded just the one picture.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to go take some more screenshots.
I need to head back to the Dalish camp and see if my approval quest buggered out or not. I think it messed up with the "find the dead brother" quest since both finding him and the talisman show completed, but when I talk to the sister, she acts like he hasn't been found yet.

I hope it didn't bug!
@ Rascoth I really like your sketch! And your style, great work!
Thank you!
I mostly play Threatening and Peri (mostly she says, with only 20 Peri runs ) tho I use Routine to level up my Lvl 1s till they're on Lvl 7-8.
Tho I can say, I did more Threatening runs, then Routine.
Apropos MP, I got a Shield of the Emperor in a treasure room chest in Threatening today
Oh, perilous. I have yet to try it, but with 3 total promotions I'm far from it
Nice! Shield of the Emperor seems like a really good shield! I still cry over Magehunter I salvaged when I was a total mp noob...
