I'm just saying that Laidlaw's description could be applied to JoH and it wouldn't technically be incorrect...I know all this
Maybe I base what I post here on my own playing experience, and maybe I don't have all the facts regarding Descent yet... but if the lowest level the monsters reach in JoH is 20 or 21, and I have usually reached Skyhold somewhere around level 12, then I'm not gonna go to the Frostback Basin until I'm ready to go there. Where's the fun in that, right?
I haven't heard yet whether there is a minimum level cap for the monsters in Descent, but to me this ...
... would suggest a level cap is not the case...so if I get to Skyhold at level 12 and want to go to the deep roads first, I shouldn't worry that I'm not gonna have fun.
What Did You Do Today (in the DA 'verse) ? .... oops ;)

A little story . . .

Alistair snuck a look at Ellis, concerned by the vulnerability in her slumped shoulders and bent head. First the Guardian of the Temple and then the gauntlet recalled Ellis’ hidden, dulled grief and made it shiny and new and sharp. Her first words came almost as if talking to herself.
“My first pony was named Apple because she was red and round and low to the ground. For my eighth birthday mamma and papa bought me a new pony. I named him Gull. He was dappled grey and sleek and a lot higher off the ground than Apple.
Papa promised to take me out riding the next day. I wasn’t to go off on my own because Gull was new to me. He was bigger and stronger and faster and Papa wanted me to be careful. I badly wanted to go that day, but there was no time. It was my birthday and there was the celebration feast and gift giving and speeches. I bore with it as well as a eight year old could, knowing that Gull was waiting in the stables for our first ride on the next day.
The next morning I was up, dressed and at my parent’s door. Oh, Alistair. I was so excited. But, Papa wasn’t there. He had been called out by the guard captain to see to reports of bandits on the roads. My poor mother bore the brunt of that tantrum.”
“Really Sorcha," Alistair drawled. “You and tantrums? Maker forbid.” He received an elbow in the ribs (bruised ribs). “Ow.”
“Serves you right you brute.” Her head came to rest on his shoulder. “I suppose you can guess what happened next?”
“Let me see.” dramatic pause. “Stubborn, hot-headed – I’d say you went off on your own.”
“I did. And that’s about all I remember. When I woke up back in my own bed, I thought it was the same day. Papa was asleep in a chair by my bed and when I woke him, he looked at me as if struck by lightning. He cried Alistair. My papa held me so very tight and sobbed. Of course that started me crying as well.
It seems I had ridden straight into an ambush by the same bandits my father was looking for. They tried to grab Gull’s bridle, he took fright, threw me and in bolting broke his leg. My father and his men were close and able to dispatch the gang and get me to the castle. For the two days and three nights I was sleeping, he never left my side.”
Alistair held her while the tears finally came and still after they were spent.

Hey congrats
Nothing to it, right? The video turned out really well, and I love all those mods too, particularly for Leliana and Sten. And the story too! Poor Sorcha
did she have Leliana's Song going through her mind when she told that story?
Song comes after. Lolly was there at the temple and saw what was going on. She not dumb our Lolly. But the whole point of that song I guess is comfort following grief. Matches up pretty good. Thanks BW ![]()

While I may have a slight advantage of having played the DLC before you, I think it's possible you'll have more available time to play it... unless we judge it by the time stamp on the savegame file at the end. There could be other ways to pick a winner too. I'm open to suggestions here.
You might be right about the time to play.
Here's a thought. Instead of who completes it the fastest, it will be decided by who advances the most levels. I mean if I start at level 13 plus 8700 and you start at level 13 plus 9498. This means that everything in the dlc has to be done so that each of us gain the most experience points possible. Basically it means we can't miss a thing. So in theory its possible it would end in a tie. To get the most out of the dlc it would be best to start at the lowest possible level.
How about the loser acknowledges the winner in their signature for... thirty days? sixty?
That seems fair.
Here's another thought. What if we include others for the challenge? Everyone starts at the same level, the same class and companions. Now if we decide instead of how fast the dlc is completed to how many levels the player moves up, then it won't matter what companions the player uses.
The reward would be for the losers to give a like to the winner for thirty days to all his/her posts on this thread.

So, I won the Quizquition. I had no idea this was a thing. Usually I found him once or twice. Usually missed a question and rolled my eyes. But yesterday I found him in my vault twice (and behind my barn once) and answered three questions correctly. I was looking forward to going all Scrooge McDuck in the vault too. Oh well.

Did you know when you get three questions correct, you get a prize?
I continue to find things I've not seen in this game. Like this in Crestwood. What even is this? It's right by your second camp...

Did some companion quests. Blackwall goes to jail. Rafe sprung him. But made him join the wardens. Made Cole a real boy. Rescued Solas's spirit friend.

When you lit the torch it goes off after a moment. So you need to light first torch 4 times, second 2 and third 3 times. If you do it properly, after you lit third torch for the 3rd time, all 4 torches in pavilion will light up.
Thanks to Rascoth's help, I went and completed this Lion's Pavilion quest. The end loot was odd. Not sure what it gained me. Oh well, it was fun!
Well, my third game is finished.
And on to game four!
Here's my new Qunari based on Maleficent. (Sorry about the stupid computer squiggles. I do not have the means to take a photo from the XBox or TV. I used my phone's camera.)

She's very different than my first Qunari on my first game. Maleficent is more pragmatic and get-down-to-business than Aryelia was. She's less inclined to care what you think of her.

Isn't it exciting?
I really want to take 2H Templar Dofni but wiould like to get through JoH first. I'm thinking of SnS Reaver Cirwen (my NM run gal) too, but I dunno if I'll be able to get her to Skyhold before next week. More realistic to get Dofni through JoH. Hmm...
Yeah, it is. It would be cool to have the Inquisitor gain another new ability using the anchor. For example, JoH had Aegis of the Rift.

I know, right? I just recently discovered, after I dunno, a bazillion visits to the Herald's Rest tavern, that there is a door on the Cole level that leads to the ramparts! Honestly, I thought the game was trolling me or something. How could I have missed that?I continue to find things I've not seen in this game. Like this in Crestwood. What even is this? I love finding those little visual easter eggs in the maps. I took a bunch of screenies when I found it. Hard to find in night mode, but much easier in day mode. The Cheese Shield/Wedge of Destiny is above that spot too, IIRC.

Well Skyhold randomly has trees growing inside despite clearly being way above the tree line. I reckon it has its own magical climate. This grove is obviously an extension of that magic. ![]()
