So I was just looking for this:

And I found this, which I'd not seen before:

Both pretty damn cool in their own ways...

Love the first one, found it shortly after downloading the game for the first time.

Second one is great, never heard of it before. When I went to their channel to give them a like, I found this other DAI video,  Nightingale's Eyes:

You need to have something like 10 or 11 crystal grace plants when you do the jumping in Emerald Graves. What I've found is, that instead of having to jump a bunch of times, I can save before the first jump, jump a couple of times, then reload, and the spot to place the flowers is active. It's happened for me twice in two different games, both unintentional as it turned out. I messed up the jump spot (and Dorian was interfering as well) so I wanted to start over. I don't know if you need to secure the keep before you can get through the magic wall and go down the stairs. I haven't made it to Emprise in my current game to try it out.

Nope, securing the keep itself is not necessary. I'm still keeping some red templars there in case Sera needed something to gain focus on.

So, the new patch doesn't like my game. I loaded up Neralah (dwarf quizzy) to get her and crew outfitted for the Deep Roads. Went to Storm Coast to find the Mighty Offense Tonic recipe. Tried to go back to Skyhold....game crashed. Reloaded, tried again, crashed. Reloaded, went to Crestwood with no problem. Tried to go back to Skyhold, game crashed.

Any ideas??

console? if so I have no idea about tricks sorry... pc? if pc do you use mods? if so patches can break then so remove them and it -should- be fine. if not I'm guessing its only crashing when you try to load to Skyhold? have you tried turning graphics down to see if it helps?

Know what you mean about updates crashing the system.  I think this is the first time mine didn't crash repeatedly.

If the game crashes a lot for me, I try resetting the computer.  If that doesn't work, I turn it off and back on, and that usually helps a lot.  Worse comes to worse, do something else for a while and come back to it.  Leave the thing (your system, not the game) on and let it go through all it's processes.  You can't prevent updates, and you really can't prevent crashes, but you can slow it down to give your system time to catch up.  And try to remember to quicksave before you jump on the map, just in case.  Sometimes the autosave gets corrupted when the system's already overloaded.

It's really a system stretcher, and anything you can do to make the load on your processor less will make more space and give more startup time for the game to load properly and do its thing.  Data-rich info demands are the worst, such as graphically intense stuff (cutscenes and battles), and, in your case, area transitions.  The war room is probably going to give you problems too, and if you're on the verge of a main plot quest, that as well.  My guess is that as things start to fill up in memory, it takes longer to retrieve new data, and like every process, there's a time limit.  At the end, the computer displays whatever is ready, and sometimes it's not enough to support the system running.

It seems to have worked for me (this time....)

Descent looks so awesome.  I hope I get a chance to play it soon.  I was really only gone a couple days - I had no idea I'd miss such news.

How many of you that are getting the dlc will be playing on nightmare for the first playthrough? I would if I could

I actually was thinking about bumping my Knight Enchanter's diffuculty to nightmare. She's lvl27 and everyone has shiny new gear, so...

I'm still not sure, but maybe...

Really?!  What mods are you using that didn't get broken???

Except for no dirt build-up all of them are aesthetic mods.

Tho DAI Cinematic Tools broke  <_< The thing I want the most now, for The Descent...

Just a quick, friendly reminder. :)

Please use spoiler tags when posting about content from The Descent since some folks may not be playing it right away.

Everyone did a great job with JoH so let's keep it going!

That's what I'm planning. My screenshots are already quite big, so I put them into spoilers. Now I'll also put spoilery descriptions in them  ;)

What Ashaantha said. You can also try repairing your game. Maybe some files downloaded incorrectly?

Sadly, not me this time. I'll be playing on Hard though! I don't like making my first playthrough of stuff too difficult haha..

...

Says the person with the lvl 27 Inquisitor in the best gear that can be crafted for her.. I'm lazy ok!

I'm the same. first PT will be my first quizzy Tressa whose game is on Hard and I'm not changing it just for the sake of it . Subsequent playthroughs will be nightmare, though, starting with Aidan once I'm done with Tressa. If I like it, I think I may have to leave Imtiyaz for a while and get my dwarven warrior Solvi to the stage where she can attempt it, including getting the Legion of the Dead armour from the Hissing Wastes. She only just arrived at Skyhold. (Before I understood that the DLCs would be such high level I had begun a policy of getting Inquisitors to Skyhold and leaving them there until I saw what was available.)

I can't believe there are people who don't think veil quartz is pretty.

Sorry. To me it looks like a slightly murky version of a hi-vis jacket...  I don't expect the whole world to share my taste, though!

I found out why they call it Chateau Corbin and found my first off-limits escape route.  :D I was tracking a loot container with the HUD off and avoiding the obvious.

Spoiler

What? When did they hire M.C. Escher as a level designer? :D

Just a quick, friendly reminder. :)

Hmmm... while there is already new DLC, some slow people have yet to even start JoH... What's the best game-time to play it, in relation to What Pride Has Wrought and Doom Upon All the World? Before? After? In between?

I just played with Aidan before. With Tressa I reloaded a save in between, but that was because I wanted replay the final battle with Tressa's Dragon Webbing armour tinted so she didn't look like a Dutch football supporter... ;) I don't think it really matters, except that obviously if you do it post-ending you can't take Solas...

I played JoH two times and both were post-game. I'll do the same with both planned "The Descent" playthroughs.

Still, I don't know when is the best time to play those

I mainly play JoH post-game now, so i can still use my old fav Inquisitors, but I did make sure to try it Pre-ending as well to hear those slight dialogue changes.

Level wise (if you want to play it before you beat Corypheus) you should at least be on Lvl 19-20.

I mostly save JoH up as last area before Doom Upon All the World.

I have to try playing JoH pre-ending at least once. Maybe with Phrona... Hmnmn...

Since we got new multiplayer character I decided to see her gameplay. The real reason is I need to spend my time somehow while I wait for The Descent.

I pug. Threatening. I hope to promote Izzy, but odds are not in my favour. There's already rogue (Silent Sister) there. So I switch to Arcane Warrior. Games go smoothly. Players switch between games, but that is expected. I think it is 3rd or 4th game (dunno, I lost count), when I realise something is off. I shrug and keep playing. We finish our game with only one person without Immortal medal (another Arcane Warrior)... and then I realise we were playing perilous. My first perilous game went like that.

I rarely get to play daimp :( noone ever joins quick matches in my region, always alone, and if I want to play with a friend.. well.. all my friends are from overseas so I lag like crazy (however! the lag is getting better.. so long as said friend/s don't use ZITHER!) but still. Only being able to play with friends who don't mind the fact I can't play my best due to lag often really hurts how often i can play. (PC) I enjoy it, but it is frustrating finding a group in my region. My highest character is like.. lvl 6. Only been able to play 4 matches.

Yeah I should perhaps mention that because I'm a bit of a completionist Aidan was nearly at level 24 before starting JoH, despite not having even been to Mythal. He's done literally everything else including kill all the high dragons. I think that being at least level 20 is probably more important than where you are in the story...

I admit, I don't have the Sebastian DLC, I've only read about him. (wiki, forums) But I liked Aveline, so I sent her reinforcements. I plan to return to Kirkwall one day, I don't want to see it destroyed again.

Sebastian is the literal worst.  And he wears a belt buckle that implies he is clearly compensating for something he may lack.  I had his DLC for the Xbox, but chose not to buy it again for the PS3 when I rebought the game.  Mostly because I kind of hate him.  And honestly of all the characters I dislike, he is the one that makes me most angry.

I never get that mission since in my world state Hawke killed Anders, but I also never do the Starkhaven mission for Sebastian.  He can suck it.

So I did some exploration of the Frostback Basin.  Y'all didn't tell a girl about that ice giant.  He was a level 28. I was 26.  And to play this I busted out my canon mage Caitlyn.  A PT that I did on nightmare.  It was not pretty.  But he ended up dead.  My party was pretty beat up after that.  Said ice giant had some interesting stuff in its lair.

Who is this?  And neatly stacked gold bars?  Where did the giant get a pillow big enough for its head?  THESE ARE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS, PEOPLE!

Found another dead giant.  Caitlyn had nothing to do with this giant's corpse.

11884700_10153035323346088_5431206075543

Soo.. yeah.. do I scale this only to find sub-par loot or nothing at all?

11838652_10153035110721088_6475616897150

This is an impressive shrine.

Are we shooting the birds?  Shale would approve.  (Nice shot of Dorian in his heavy armor.  Mage besties for life!).

Aww,  that's a bummer. We have some problems when I play with Spork, but yours seem much worse  :(

Yeah, ZITHER! is known to cause troubles even to those with good connection.

Actually, I'm sure someone probably did mention the ice giant 50 pages ago when the DLC first came out.  I'm late to the party.  Ha ha.  Maybe I will find another $15 for the new DLC sooner.

In a game full of companion characters with extreme views, he was the one who annoyed me the most. Anders and Fenris had over-the-top attitudes, but I could at least see where they came from. With Sebastian, he's just the kind of intolerant arse that gives decent religious folk a bad name. A privileged idiot who threw his life away and then was "rescued" by faith? Ugh. I found it really tough to feel empathy for him. I was really worried that Cassandra would end up like him. Thank the maker she isn't...

Yeah... someone probably mentioned it... once...

I hope so. I'm hearing voices that it's at least as beautiful as JoH.

Why, Origin, why... I want to play!

Truth be told first playthrough with him was really annoying... but then I labeled him Drama Queen and since then I somehow can stand him. If not for the laughs I would probably avoid his DLC as much as I could.

There are still moments when I feel like stabbing him...

I mentioned having trouble getting it to die properly just a few pages back, actually. I kept depleting its health but it wouldn't fall down.

The Ice giant isn't too bad. Just stay away from the foot stomp. I have killed the thing with a low level Inquisitor

I like Sebastion. He's better than 'its my way or the highway' Anders.

I'm also waiting to see some screenshots or descriptions about the new dlc from folks.
