I watched the Descent DLC on twitch. I liked it. Maybe cause I also love dwarven lore  :P

Well, I'm not gonna play it for a while. Gonna wait and see how mods get updated for it. In the meantime I'll continue with Rys' journey. I was pleasantly surprised how well the DLC matches my ideas for her, and I only want to make a few tweaks. Also gave me a couple new ideas I can work into her story. Not sure how I'm going to go about everything and make it fit within DAO's story. It's a bit tricky trying to fit two storylines into one and somehow get them to cooperate.

I read this post that the individual was able to finish the dlc in 2 hours. It was his/her second playthrough

Can you put attachments on the new weapons(schematic weapons)in the The Descent DLC? I'm trying to investigate a lot of things before I buy it.

Descent is in my future, no doubt about it. I'm going to hold off starting it up until after I finish Stennis's NM PT. I know that it will be on me to avoid reading/watching spoilers, so if I seem a little absent, it's because I'm running away from my laptop covering my eyes and singing "Lalalalalalalalalala" REALLY LOUDLY. ;)

Can't wait!

Oh my! The thread went nuts since I went to bed last night! So many posts, so many likes (and to be liked since I ran out of them a page or so back).

Lol. My thoughts exactly. I made a quick post one day and as usual 2-3 pages of posts get made. Lol. Gotta love this thread. ^_^.

I didn't get too far last night and I can only speak for the staff and bow schematics that I found, but in their case no. They are tier 4 so they do have higher base damage than any previous schematics though. Also of interest to crafters is the fact that there is a free chest of 20-ish of each of the tier 4 dragon crafting materials from the vanilla game and a further 150 of each available to buy from a shop, both in the first camp.

DAI Cinematic tools updated. Should work with patch 9.

Haven't tested it myself yet, and don't know if it works with older patches.

http://www.bfcinematictools.com/dai/

I tested it yesterday, as soon as tklivory posted a link to it. And it works with patch 9.

I haven't got too far in The Descent yet, but I will say one thing: It has some pretty views:

I made similar screenshots  ;)

That's quick. I have played for 4 hours (on nightmare, with small breaks) and I think I'm still in a middle (at least I'm in a middle of maps).

It seems you get schematic for every possible character (there are even better schematics for Bianca). I have yet to find one-hand, but I'm sure it's there. It seems you can also loot items with exact same design as those schematics. Got staff and sword (that's why I'm pretty sure schematic is there). But no, no attachments. Still, you can make pretty badass staff (can speak only about staff since that's the only thing I crafted).

In my experience, it usually takes me at least four times the lowest times bandied about on these forums to complete a piece of BioWare content. I'm not interested in rushing through just to say that I "beat" it.

Anyway, Here are some grabs from the early cinematics. So far it does feel more Origins-Like in its execution. Unsurprisingly it's a big long dungeon with just a couple of small side-tracks to grab some loot. There have been a few cinematic set pieces already. It seems like there will be more than JoH even if the actual gameplay is shorter. I shall try to keep anything more spoilerific than a vague description inside the tags.

You were right about the hugely inflated value of the loot too. What's with that?

So far I've just finished the second level down.

With disappointments surrounding The Descent DLC, I think I we can all agree that Bioware/EA are pretty much wasting Inquisition's support. It would be a great disappointment if Inquisition's support was only one year.

Er... I'm not disappointed at all so far, and I've seen plenty of people who are enjoying/have enjoyed it. A load of people coming onto the forums and complaining is a given after BioWare release anything, so don't read too much into that, especially the day after release. I also enjoyed Jaws of Hakkon, so no, I can't agree.

Edit: It's also worth noting that as far as I understand it, this DLC is mostly from BioWare Austin, and whatever the core team in Edmonton are working on has yet to see the light of day, so don't jump to any conclusions as yet.

I personally am not disappointed. I'm loving it more and more as I go deeper.

I also really like JoH, contrary to many BSN posters.

I didn't read any spoilery parts but I have a technical question:

Did anyone have serious graphics slowdown after installing the DLC? I was at Skyhold and could barely move...it was like I re-installed my old video card and was back to slo-mo, except it was even worse. I had to change my display settings from Mantle back to DirectX and lowered the graphics from high to medium just to make it to Undercroft in less than 10 minutes.

No, nothing like that happened. At least not in my case.

None here. Other than that graphical settings screw-up that they made in December which they hotfixed within a day or so, I've not had a major performance issue with any updates yet. I guess I've just been lucky. I hope you can sort it out!

Happened in DLC, but not DLC-related.

We were fighting and Dorian went down (again). He had this ghost-like form... so I thoughtwhy not to try Revival! I mean... ghost Dorian reviving dead Dorian. Nothing happened so I went on. Then when ghost form's time ended, Dorian was revived.

Why no one told me dead Dorian can revive himself?

Also... DLC related landscape (in spoiler). Suddenly I feel like JoH's look was medicore.

*snip*

I don't think I've ever specced a mage with that ability, but that's pretty cool! :D

I've been looking forward to that landscape since we saw a glimpse in the trailer!

I never have Revival on Quizzy, but all other mages have it. Once, it saves pots if someone goes down and twice, as someone discovered just recently, it makes massive damage to Undead, including Revenants and Arcane Horrors (bless that person).

Eh... It's beautiful, just... beautiful.
