Why the silly thing couldn't turn around and follow us back out the way we came in... but oh no, it just had to head towards that rift on the river.  :pinched:

Druffy's actions that day caused me to lose any last lingering reservations I had about hunting them for their hides.

Had to focus one at the time, they are insanely strong on Nightmare at least.

Druffalo as a companion confirmed. Romancable only by male dwarves.

Cadash: What do I do if I have a special order?
Requisitions Officer: What sort of special order are we talking about, sir?
Cadash: *ahem* A... well a footstool.
R.O.: A footstool?

Today Harold left the Hinterlands and went to Val Royeaux. After Lucius' lackey punched the chantry cleric in the jaw, I was very tempted to pick the "saved me the trouble" dialogue, but I thought maybe Cassandra wouldn't like that too much, so I didn't. Sigh. Sera would have enjoyed that, too bad she can't be in the party for that conversation. Oh well.

Harold is back in Haven now, having invited Sera and Vivienne to join the quest, and shared out what precious little mage and rogue gear he's got among his new recruits. Picked up a few schematics at a shop in VR -- damn that place is pricey! -- but I don't have enough of any one kind of leather to craft the new armor I want. D'OH.

Had an interesting conversation with Solas about spirits and the fade. Solas is a touchy b*****d when it comes to his spirit friends. We were getting along pretty well until I told him that spirits were bound by their nature, and that he said so himself. He pretty much just sniffed superiorily (is that even a word?) and turned away. Elves.  <_<

Then I had a chat with Sera about the Friends of Red Jenny. I still like Sera, but it's kinda refreshing this time to talk to her without trying to romance her. She made mention of me chasing after the "Lord Seeker". I hope she just goofed on that because if Cassandra is a "Lord" Harold is in for a shock in the future. Anyway, since Harold is already an archer, I won't be taking Sera along on too many quests this time around.

Looks like Varric misses out again, too. Oh well. Although Varric was one of my favorites in DA2, I'm finding his self-description of "occasionally unwelcome tagalong" to be fitting more often than not in Inquisition. We'll see if that changes when I play a fighter, or a mage who's not romancing Sera. Then I can bring him out with me more often.

Then I had a talk with Cullen about templar life. Brought a question to my mind. At one point you can ask Cullen about whether templars ever talk to the mages they're guarding, or if they keep their distance. Cullen talks about it being easier for a templar to not get too attached to the potential abomination he may have to decapitate one day. Well... if you play a female mage in Origins, you get a chance to talk with Cullen in the beginning, and you can even flirt with him a bit. He gets flustered and it's kinda funny and blah blah blah. So, if you create a world state with a female mage HoF who did flirt with Cullen etc etc, does he make mention of her in Inquisition at any time?

Anyway, time for Harold to finish conversing with a few more people and get back out there. Skeeter wants to poke holes in the bad guys.

In Origins my mage Gytha used to love making Cullen run away from her - it was hilarious. Until Cmeesaz bought out a mod to romance him and then it was on. Only Alistair won out in the end. I think Cullen does mention her. He does in DA2.

Hmm... I'll have to try a world state setup for that when it comes time for the Cullen romance playthrough.

Today I started the Winter Palace mission with Iron Bull, Cassandra and Vivienne as party members. I love missions like this because of the politics, mystery and intrigue.

I started the mission and I got to the trophy room. There is a locked door in the trophy room and you need a rogue inquisitor to unlock it. So I unlocked the door and I was surprised at what I found. It was another copy of "Sword and Shields". It like deja vu, so this means either one of two things:

1) Varric is underplaying the popularity of the book or

2) Cassandra brought along her copy and she retires to the trophy room to read it away from the pomp and ceremony. I hope it's this one

Anyway, I got my influence high and went upstairs. I used the halla statues to unlock a door and Vivienne is witnessing another embarrassing situation (this is like the third situation in the span of two days) as there is a naked man on a bed. Back to the ballroom and I decided to fight the duchess in the Courtyard. Celene executed Gaspard and I threw the blame at Briala as well (Just to put a spanner in the works).

Back at Skyhold and Josephine wanted me to judge a box and I felt charitable so I sentenced community service. Then I went to the Exalted Plains and the troops still think that a civil war is going on. My party now consisted of Iron Bull, Vivienne and Varric. Then Varric wanted to know about the Iron Bull/Inquisitor relationship in front of Vivienne (embarrassed for a forth time). I don't know what Vivienne thinks of the inquisitor at the moment with all the romance talk. I have made all my party members wear Orlesian masks in the field so that I can defeat demons in style. Although Varric does look unusual in his.

Well I feel awkward wearing this uniform. At least I'm not the only one. So this is how mortals party. What a joke. In my world, I have souls of the dead chained from the ceiling with fire burning at their feet. Their screaming is music to my ears. If my master was here, he would die of laughter. No. Really. He would. I have to contain myself from laughing as well. Ok. The main purpose for this is to keep  Celene from being killed.

I will say this, these mortals are very ruthless. That women over there is thinking of a way to kill her husband to please her lover. That guy there, has ideas about killing the Empress to cause chaos. Woah. Didn't need to read his mind. The things he wants to do to that woman. Everyone wants sex or to kill someone.

Josephine explains to me what to look for and Lelaina mentions about eavesdropping for information that can be used against Gaspard, Celene and Briala. I walk around and gather a few things that can help. Just as I was to talk with Leliana, a woman by the name of Morrigan approaches me.  She tells me a few things that may help me and to be watchful. Ok. Her mind is thinking of her son. That's natural.

I gather Cassandra, Varric and Solas. We encounter Venetori.  We fight. My power has come a long ways since all this began. I'm able to mix in my own power with this body's power. I commend you Elizabeth Nancy Trevelyan. Not only are you agile, for a mortal, but your powers are strong, and with the Knight Enchanter power I got you, well lets just say you are a very tough person to stop.

Back to the ballroom. What is this. The duchess wants to dance? Come on. Lets get this over. So she is the one that will kill Celene. I can't tell anyone since they will think I'm crazy.

Now I get my chance to face her. She's very good with that bow of hers. Sorry mortal, but this body and my power, you're nothing but mincemeat.

Celene is happy that I helped her. Gaspard will be executed and Briala will be in a lot of trouble.

Morrigan tells me she will join the Inquisition to help against Corypheus. I almost forgot about him. Yeah. I will send him back to my world for my master to deal with him. I need to calm down. I don't want the mortals to see me with fire coming out of my eyes.

Hello Josephine. One thing I felt being in this body, it seems to react in a seductive way every time its close to Josephine. Yuck. Me and a mortal. Gross. When you get your body back Elizabeth, you can go after Josephine. For now, the two of us dance. She's a lot better than the duchess.

A couple of notes

After I came back from the Winter Palace, I went to talk with Varric and he gave me an earful. He was trying to compare my femquisitor to blondie. I'm looking forward to seeing how this will play out.

Spoiler

I've done all quests for Hissing Wastes, except kill the dragon. Did all quests for the exalted plains and all quests for the Emerald Graves. I've done as much as I can in the Western Apparoach without seeing Hawke or Alistair. They're still in Crestwood waiting for me. I have not been to the Storm Coast yet. I might go there shortly.

I haven't recruited Sera. Might see her later on.. With all that I've done, I'm at level 22.

Today I did some crafting to prepare my nightmare party consisting of Sera, Dorian, and Cassandra in this case, before venturing into a story mission. Said story mission was Here Lies the Abyss, and I loved doing it again, best part of the game in my opinion :)

Completed all the rituals in the Temple of Mythal (had to lower graphics settings so the stupid things wouldn't bug out and reset before I was even half done). Fought some more Templars, met some weird ancient elves who have been hiding for eons apparently, doing nothing of note except pouting about how the world sucks. Flashed the shiny that Dagna made and weakened Samson enough to render him unconscious. Let Morrigan drink from the Well, then hightailed it through the mirror before Cory could catch us. Take that, bad guy! Had the army lug Samson's sorry behind back to Skyhold where I turned him over to Cullen for questioning. Chased Kieran through the eluvian into the Fade and met....

Spoiler

Ran around the castle grounds talking with everyone one last time then....Solas broke up with me. Man, that sucks (even more-so since his 3rd quest is bugged into non-existence). I kept my tattoos though....I worked hard for those, and just because they meant X back yonder doesn't mean they do now. Gotta wonder about those Dalish keepers though....either they have no idea how to actually maintain lore, or they are the best liars in the DA universe.

Oh, and Leliana is still psycho.....

My Inquisitor, Rowena Trevelyan, did a few things today.

1.  First, she attended the party at the Winter Palace, trying her hand at the Game, and reunited Celene and Briala.

Spoiler

At the end of the party, she welcomed Morrigan to the Inquisition and had a nice dance with her Cully-Wully.

Spoiler

2. Back at Skyhold she did her rounds, talking to the inner circle.  A few noteworthy things:

-She supported Cassandra as the next Divine (and did the War Table mission), agreeing wholeheartedly with her goals for the Chantry.

-Met Morrigan's son, Kieran:

Spoiler

-She had one of the most depressing drinks ever with Blackwall:

Spoiler

-And stopped by to say "hi" to Cullen, and then had sex on his desk:

Spoiler

3.  Later, Morrigan took her through the Eluvian, and explained Corypheus's next step:

Spoiler

4.  Her next steps will be wrap up any companion quests she hasn't yet completed (Blackwall and Iron Bull I think are the only ones left), and explore a little before entering the Arbor Wilds.

Lyell is bereft of understanding. What is it with Emerald Graves and giants and great bears? Man can't move a toe without encountering one or the other and mostly both. At least the brontos don't bother him unless someone (Cassandra!) gets in a spin and hits one. Thank the Maker the camp is not far away.

Also found this in the big hole under Solas' room. Think it would come under the heading WTF?

Harold and co. haven't been very busy today. Harold's advisors are divided on whether to seek out the help of the templars or the mages, and the woman he'd been looking for his whole life was no help, although she seemed to like it when he told them all to stop bickering. Valuable insight, perhaps, but he will have to wait for a later day to explore that. Cassandra's not very talkative lately, and for that matter neither is anyone else. A sure sign that Harold better get off his ass and do something important. In the spirit of that, he decided to wander the Hinterlands some more.

Leaving Varric back in Haven and taking Vivienne in search of a magical Tome, their travels through the 'lands took them to a small lake. There, a grey warden had conscripted some locals -- who looked as though they'd never held a sword or shield in their lives before that day -- to fight the thieves who had stolen their valuables. The man's name is Blackwall, or so he claims  <_<, and while he didn't have any good ideas as to why the wardens have all but disappeared, he persuaded Harold to let him join the Inquisition on the strength of having a very impressive beard.

Solas said he would go back to Haven and report in on their wanderings -- Harold secretly believed he'd had enough of people for awhile and wanted to go fade-tripping -- so they let Blackwall guide them out away from the lake towards Master Dennitt's farm, where they set up a new camp nearby.

And that's where I'm at. I'm undecided where to go next: Continue on to Dennitt's farm and deal with all that stuff, head on up to Redcliffe and see what's going on with the mages, or leave the Hinterlands altogether and go check out the Storm Coast, maybe see if there are any one-eyed Qun'ari mercenary leaders who want to join the Inquisition too... Hmm.

Go to the rift in the river Herald Harold - go to the rift in the river. Get Druffy Harold Harold - you know you want to - take her to the rift in the river. Herald Herald Harold Ser - go to the rift in the river. (I am not Darth Vader  ).
