You have to meet him. It's so hilarious I even made dedicated save!

 

I think it's The Descent loot. I've sold it in different shops and still got nice gold.

I tried selling with loot I get from JoH, and those axes are worth 18K, but at normal selling price, only 3K. Even crafted materials that cost like 2-3 Gold are worth 6-10 Gold.

A Unique item or weapon is around 10,000 range should you sell it. I'd recommend farming those goo in JoH for the Unique Weapons and then selling them in the Legion of the Dead camp. Those axes at their highest value is around 18,000 each. Very easy money farming. I would recommend only the shop in this DLC, because you get so much gold from selling things. If you were to sell like the Master Stamina Amulet at the shop in the DLC, you'd get about 10,000 Gold, but at normal selling price, it'd be 2,600.

Yeah, it's super cheesy. I hope BioWare never changes it, but then I think they won't since Gold is way too scarce in the game.

Just the amounts you get for the loot you pick up in the DLC is staggering, without even thinking of farming stuff from elsewhere. I wonder if it's on purpose or if they will patch it out...

I mean, I teamed up with Dorian, Varric and Cassandra- and I think we kinda died in turns, I think first was Varric, then Dorian, then Cassandra, then my quizzie- my quizzie was like in the middle of reviving Dorian when Cassandra and Varric downed the last boss. xD

actually found mobs fights harder than boss fight. I used the exact same team and except for Dorian going down once (as he did thru all DLC), no one went down. And yeah, it sucks that the level cap wasn't raised. All this experience... wasted.

he's not behind the door. Did you get the cheese from that strange room with dwarven bed? That's offering for him. There's area of Forgotten Caverns (upper center-right part of the map) that you can access from Bastion of the Pure (from upper left part of the map). There's stone that says "only those who believe may pass". That means you're on the right path

Ah, I see. I didn't find the room with the cheese yet. Have to go back and find it, but I'm getting my DW Assassin, Natalia ready to venture into the Deep Roads. She and her team of Cassandra, Dorian and Vivienne will be prepared for the craziness   

 

Maybe the next DLC that's post game related will raise the level cap.

I actually bought those before you told me about merchant. I was just selling to him, because I didn't feel like fast-travelling between maps   When everyone except for Viv and Dorian got all purples, I just sold everything I got (I prefer to keep barrier rings on them). 

Then I checked my gold.

And decided to take Viv shopping

I liked open parts of Deep Roads. The ones with cliffs. Then Cass with her Shield Bash was my best friend. "Fight? Nah, say hello to abyss." *Shield Bash*

With assassin you'll finish everyone before they know it  I'm planning to take Blakwall, Sera and Cole during my next pt. Completely different team than the one I had now.

 

I hope so. I would hate to play all future DLCs without a way to level up.

Hi Guys!

 

Since I was not working the last couple of days I finished the JoH.  Couple  of thoughts.  Why do the Avvar wear what looks to be furs and leathers like they are cold when they are clearly down in the sub-tropical area in/near the Arbor Wilds?  I mean I know they are up a hill and might get a lake breeze (knowing all too well how a lake breeze can cool you off living here in Chicago).. but still.   Why are the Hakkonites stupid hard on nightmare but easy as heck on Hard?  The rifts aren't bad on either difficulty.  I must be killing them wrong with Caitlyn?  She only has tier 1 focus.  Whereas I go to tier 3 with other chars.  Maybe that's it. 

 

So I busted out my most recent inquisitor Rafael and took him down there.  Even though Caitlyn is canon Rafe's overall PT was much more completionist.  And I spent more time on hers.  For Caitlyn my group was Cass, Dorian and Sera.  For Rafe, the team is Bull, Dorian and Vivienne.  I like when you talk to Scout Harding  - if you have Bull in the party she mentions mayhem and then bull is all like "MAAAAYHEM".  Hilars.

 

Poor sap.  Nothing like an arrow to the face.

Yes! The cliffs! I've sent a few enemies flying into the abyss. Either shield bash or charging bull from Cassandra    

 

Assassin and Tempest can take down enemies at lightning speed. I'll have my team equipped with hmm... hidden blades, chain lightning, explosion masterworks and cleansing runes on their weapons. Vivienne has resurgence. Lifeward amulets will be good just in case potions run out.

We actually discussed this a few pages back. For me the problem is the other way around. The Frostback Basin is right on the southern edge of the map, supposedly up in the mountains, and Thedas is in the southern hemisphere of its planet so more southerly=colder. This is why Dorian is always complaining about the cold. It's warmer up north where he's from. The Avvar match the lore. It's the forest and the parrots in the level design that don't.

Revival deal nice damage against Undead, so it can come handy against some enemies.

Sorry, I'm going to repeat that to everyone, because I was shocked when I've learned that.

 

Varric with Hidden Blades on armor and Throwing Blades skill was the best! I wonder what Cole can do with Throwning Blades. I never found space in his skills slot for that

I'm okay with Thedas getting warm again in the south.  That does not bother me in the least.  Just because our planet has an equator where things get warmer as you converge to that  center point doesn't mean that other worlds don't have warmth on the poles or whatnot.  So I'm able to suspend my disbelief enough for that. 

 

Really, if you are going to name an area "Frostback Basin" I expect it to be cold.  Just like the damn Fereldan Frostback.. All yellow and tropical looking instead of blue and cold.  What kind of decent dragon gets named Frostback then breathes fire?  You fail at dragon 101.

 

And I suck.  I generally read back about 5 or so pages. but y'all post.. a lot.  LOL.

Don't forget that the Avvar all have Icelandic sounding names and use ice magic. Hakkon is an Ice Dragon. Everything about the place screams "Cold!" except the flora and fauna...
