I finished reading Masked Empire. Ugh... I don't know if forcing a 3 way truce is good either. Might as well have the Inquisitor take over Orlais! Wishful thinking...
I just figure the three of them really deserve each other. It's too bad quizzy doesn't know what we know about all the crap that's gone on. Leliana is sometimes a really bad spymaster.

So here we are. Doing all the aftermath of Haven. It was kind of fun though. I ran into the cutscene with Cassandra and the book of doom. Also unlocked the Specialization missions. But have not actually done them yet. Recruited Dagna. And then off to the Western Approach where I went to the Tevinter monument tower before I needed to in the main game. First time in three play throughs...I think.

Three very important things happened to Dofni Cadash today, down in the deep roads. Let me say firstly, that none of them would have happened without Rascoth's help. So thank you, Rascoth.
Spoiler
First, Rascoth reminded me of something she'd told me once before, that I'd forgotten, and then gave me a map so that I could find the last Dwarven Mug to complete my collection. That makes all collections in Descent complete. Yay.
I would have missed the second thing completely if Rascoth hadn't asked me if I'd found it yet. That would have been a tragedy because I would have missed the greatest thing to happen to Dragon Age since taking Zevran and hardened Leliana to the Pearl to meet Isabela ... *ahem* that is, er, Jaws of Hakkon's bear puns
I'm talking, of course, about the Nug King.
Spoiler
"Only Those Who Believe May Cross"
Spoiler
Are those... nugs?
Spoiler
And then Dofni remembered something Varric said...
Spoiler
And she remembered that room in the Thaig and the words of Paragon Ebryan:
All praise the Nug King. Sate his appetite with cheese. Older is better.
Sidenote: Just realized. It's a haiku.
And so she placed the cheese on the throne, but something wasn't right...
Spoiler
So that's how it is...
Spoiler
But of course, it could only get better...
Spoiler
Varric's expression here told Dofni that story he was thinking of when this all began was maybe personal, like ancient Tethras family history...?
Spoiler
The Nug King hopped on his throne and then... something amazing.
Spoiler
Dofni thought of every nug she'd ever encountered before this moment.
Spoiler
A hot debate among Nug admirers is whether the King in Paragon Ebryan's songs was royalty of some kind or merely an especially magnificent speciment of the breed. Every year, scholars, bards, and rodent enthusiasts bring offerings of cheese to the deep roads, hoping for a glimpse of the Nug King, who remains elusive.
Best.
Bioware please, give us that throne for Skyhold.
Oh yeah, and then this happened...
Spoiler
Full credit to Blackwall and his Walking Fortress skill which kept him alive to chip away at the stone, lone after everyone else had fallen. Long after. Thank you to everyone who claimed this was an easy fight for your proper motivation.
Dorian sums up my feelings about it the best
Spoiler
And then, it was kinda funny because I'd been back to the camp several times and everyone behaved as though they hadn't seen Dofni in months. Also, as if anyone needed a reminder, scout Harding =
Spoiler
So that is my Descent adventure. Totally worth it.

I love the badass walk through the door before that moment with Harding at the end. I just wish that it had been Cass on the right not Varric when Tressa did it. I suspect it's down to the order in which I picked them on the selection screen. I'm half-tempted to reload and experiment...

So last night Hawke and co did their deep roads expidition. Took Carver down there. He is such a whiner. Poor thing got the taint, though. So the only option for him was to go through the joining. From an inquisition standpoint it makes more sense to me to make your sibling a warden. Because otherwise it doesn't really make sense for Hawke to be friendly with Stroud when she just sees him in passing at the end of act II (or is it act III??). At least with a sibling as a warden you can see see Hawke in theory taking time to visit Carver and getting to know his commander, Stroud in her off time. Otherwise it just seems weird. So there is that.
And officially I start my new job today. Got the offer yesterday afternoon after I posted. It'll be nice to go back into the world of working people again.

I liked Pharamond! I was so mad on what happened to him!
The other thing was I didn't expect Leliana to meet Cole. It's no wonder she took interest in him when he appeared at Haven's war table if the Inquisitor sided with the Templars.
Oh right, Belinda! She's involved in war table missions with Cullen and in MP. Knight Captain Rylen is also a good templar.
Spoiler
Leliana getting angry at Celene... No surprise she suggested to the Inquisitor to let Celene die during the winter palace quest!
Spoiler
Me too! I wanted to slap Adrian (or worse) for what she did.
Yeah, that caught me off guard too. Leli's everywhere
Yes. Oh, I agree, Rylen is a good guy too.
Spoiler
Celene kept calling Justinia by her given name Dorothea, Leliana was practically fuming.
I just bought all the books ... should have them in a week or so.
Good, good
It seems Gilli is really convincing. Look at us. Waiting for our books
And others that picked theirs unfinished ones.
Good job, Gilli
Indeed. It's all Gilli's fault influence. She must be a Jedi.
I vote for this to be new Gilli's avatar
Agreed! And she has to start reversing all the words in her sentences.... "In Inquisition today, to the Frostback Basin Quizzy went. Tested, her resolve was."
No Jedi I am...god I can't write like this, it confuses me too much
If I'd change my avatar to a green skinned one, there would be only one chara I would use.

It was the end of Act 2.
Tho I agree Warden Carver makes more sense, I prefer him as a Templar. I always headcanon (yeah, I replace logic with poor headcanoning) that my Hawke meet Stroud later either thanks to Varric (who seems to know everyone) or Anders (when Stround came to visit him and tried to bring him back to Grey Wardens).
Congratulations!

Leliana usually doesn't reveal on what she really knows. It's up to the Inquisitor to figure things out.
I wasn't going to say "I support Leliana", but since Leliana's election points are bugged. When she's meant to lose points, she gains them, and so, it wouldn't make much of a difference. I am confident that Cassandra will be the divine in this playthrough, and not Leliana. Although, there is the common bug where the wrong person is chosen, but then the grand clerics are idiots. Whenever the chantry lady approaches the Inquisitor and Josephine after finishing one of the Act 2 missions, that's when I start to say "things are going to hell." I just "hate" that part so much!!! Also, I hate the fact that Leliana does not acknowledge her relationship with the Warden once she starts thinking about who will be divine. It's out of her character.

I know, right? Celene was testing Leliana's patience. I finished reading Masked Empire last night. Don't worry, I won't spoil it, but the story's interesting.

Everything from that moment on is out of Leliana's character.

You mean from the middle of Act 2 or when she asks the Inquisitor if he/she will support her? I'd like to her to end up with Warden Aeducan again, and it would be selfish of Leliana to not consider him before desiring the Sunburst Throne. The Warden is on his quest to search for answers on how to battle the Calling. He's doing this for her as much as for himself. The way Bioware handled the situation was poor along with other things. I'd like a Warden DLC soon, because I don't think Bioware should handle the whole "Warden looking for answers on how to battle the Calling" off-screen.

That right there was perhaps one of their worse faux paux's in Inquisition. Really. Because it was a convinient way to explain the Warden's abscence but it opened up a whole slew of possibilities and this kind of reasoning. I do not think the issue should be handled on screen, at least not by the Warden, but I think it should be handled eventually.

I'd like the Warden to at least be part of that, even if it it's similar to how they used Hawke.
One thing that is sorta annoying is how no one seems to care about the red lyrium. Why isn't Varric screaming in my ear every day: "Cory may be gone, but there's still lotsa red s*** all over." Someone has to do something about that, unless Bioware's just going to retcon it to oblivion.
