Fresh from our travels on the Storm Coast, with Vivienne firmly in control of the not-so-unwilling-as-one-might-think Iron Bull, and with some new gear crafted in Haven, Harold led his inquisition buddies back into the Hinterlands to finally meet up with Master Dennet to see about some horses for the troops. Bio... Bio, Bio, Bio *sigh*  We get on a horse, and run Seanna's little timed race to get used to controlling a mounted inquisitor. It's all good. I get it, I really do, but do we really have to do three races to complete the "quest"? They're no fun with keyboard+mouse, and so one race would suffice.

I promise, this is my first and last gripe about keyboard+mouse controls. Look. See? Fingers aren't crossed or anything!

Uh, anyway.... we then went around and solved all master Dennet's problems, only I can't recruit him just yet because Cullen was busy pimping out the troops for gold and couldn't get those watchtowers up as quickly as we all might've liked. He's on it now, though, and in about 20 minutes it'll be done. So in the meantime, I solved the last Hinterlands astrarium and went cave exploring. Picked up a decent dagger, which is inching me closer to respec'ing Harold to DW... but maybe not. He's become a deadly shot with a bow.... We also took the coward's way out behaved like a proper rogue should and stealthed Druffy the Druffalo past that rift by the river. I tried to get him to attack the demons but that damned beast didn't even want to step across a mud puddle, let alone attack anything.

Now we're on our way to Redcliffe to see what's going on up there. I want to hit the shops in the village, and pick up whatever quests are there to be picked up, before going back to the woods to find the claws off three great bears. Level 9 should be no trouble for that, right guys? Guys?

Also we have to go to Valammar, but I'm considering leaving that until we get to Skyhold. Haven't been to the Fallow Mire yet, either. I don't want to go there until I get the Deft Hands perk, so I can get at that grey warden loot for Blackwall and do everything else there all in one shot. Fallow Mire, though awesomely atmospheric, with lots of cool stuff and good fights, is kinda depressing with all the rain and the dead people and the dark of night thing it's got going on. So I wanna just go there once.

I read somewhere that there's a quick way to pick up the Deft Hands perk, and I did it with my very first ill-fated rogue, but I forgot. Anyone got any hints?

Fastest way is to recruit spy agents. I am aware of few.

1st Anais - At the southern castle in Hinterlands where there is a Rift inside that Anais asks you to close to prove that you are the Herald. After you are done, you can ask her to listen for secrets instead helping the refuges.

2nd Ritts - it's around the 1st, the woman that was making out with an elf on the hill who got attacked by templars. You need Varric to convince her, though.

3rd The Smuggler Tanner in Redcliffe, you need to bring Cass with you to convince her.

4th In Crestwood, there is a woman who is saved by the grey wardens in the house in the beginning (left from the 2 grey wardens on the road), which can be convinced in joining you if you have the perk opened in the spy tree for extra conversations.

Or be a dwarf, or have Underworld Knowledge perk

Really? Thought only Solas could convince her.

Ah, thanks very much. :) ... I'm just about three-quarters of the way there. Recruited Anais, and Ritts, and Harold and co are not too far from meeting Tanner in Redcliffe -- they are standing just outside the village as I type this. Haven't been to Crestwood yet, though, and so there's gotta be a quicker way, because that first rogue I made for this game was only about level five, and hadn't even gotten too far into the Hinterlands before I accidentally ( ) erased all her save games... and, while I could be wrong -- it's been known to happen --  I could swear I had the perk by then.

Damn, accidents...rip 1st thread 2014-2014. But i don't think Deft Hands is that important early on. Locked doors contain nothing good except in Crestwood after you close the water stuff, there is an amulet of power for you.

What I didn't realize is that recruiting agents is the same as picking perks in the secrets tree, as far as needing 4 perks to get Deft Hands, so I've been doubling up  :pinched:  ... which, now that i think about it, is probably how that first rogue got the perk so fast: recruited Anais + Ritts, and picked 2 secrets perks. D'OH.

Lyell is wondering how it is that having drained the dam in Crestwood and uncovered Old Crestwood (inundated about 10 years? Yes?) Scraps of paper are not only still paper but legible (if barely). B)

He skived off judging Gregory the Mayor by sending him to Alistair. Cole got snubbed for being a spirit of compassion. We allowed a spirit to command us. WTF! :o

And can someone please, please tell me how to use Dagna? She is driving Herrit nuts with the pinkquisition and the flower motifs. She is who you go to for rune crafting I think? But does she have a workbench or something because I can't find it. Having said that it's probably right under Lyell's nose. If his mother has to come there and find it for him he's going to be in big trouble. :P

You craft runes on the weapons bench.

(crafting isn't done by yourself, technically. You just give the materials and then Dagna or that dude crafts it)

On the way towards the Gamorran Stormrider, Nang Fa, Vivienne, Cassandra and Dorian slew the last of the Venatori for Dorian, picked up the final book for Vivienne, took down one of the templars for Cassandra (or mage, w/e :P) and slew the Snowy Wyvern for Vivienne.

They had already seen the Dragon fly over. Focus was maxed out, so they headed in. Lightning Flask, immediately followed by Fire Flask and Thousand Cuts. It dropped to half HP. Another Thousand Cuts, dead Dragon.

30 seconds, nice :P

*update*

strolled about the Emerald Graves doing some quests there, killing Freemen or w/e they are to max focus again. Got an agent in the proces.

Time to hunt the Dragon in the Emerald Graves. Lets see how many Thousand Cuts she needs.

Also 2, it seems :P Couldn't get them off in succession though cause she flew away to shoot ice from the sky. This did allow me to recycle Lightning Flask + Fire Flask routine again, meaning I still have full focus. Hmm, maybe try Vinsomer again.

Sullastine and crew cleared up the Hissing Wastes. She's a bit annoyed though. Those stupid mosaics have been stubbornly unfinished everywhere she's gone, and she finally gets one within ONE piece of being done and she discovers that there is very likely a large dragon sleeping on top of the last piece. Iron Bull was all for trying to take down the Sandy Howler so they could break into Fairel's Tomb, but she decided to wait and work her way up to it. After all, they'd just gotten done fighting the Abyssal dragon up and down the Western Approach, and the only member of the team who had taken a dirt nap was Iron Bull. It seems the big qunari can talk a good game, but he sure has trouble delivering. Must be compensating. Sullastine is glad Cullen doesn't seem to need to prove himself so much.

Besides, the team has killed the Northern Hunter, the Frostback, the Abyssal, and the Stormrider. Surely Iron Bull can be content with them for the time being?

Anyhow, she thinks it's time to get back to the serious work of solving other people's problems for them. And after digging sand out of inconvenient places it just shouldn't go, it's also time for a pleasant change of scene, too. Off to the Emerald Graves! Surely someplace with a name that pleasant can't be full of nothing but sand, sun and nasty animals. At least there ought to be trees and grass and nasty animals ... right?

Went to the Hissing Wastes, entered a tomb and found a Masterwork Spiked Bow. That's what Nang Fa needed.

So we used the Dragon Bone, Dragon Webbing, Hardened Gurgut Scale and Essence of Perfection to craft a beastly bow. It appears there's also a market in the Hissing Wastes where Leather Armor is sold... thats where we're headed next. We only need to find the place...

*update*

Found it. Bought Sturdy Prowler Armor + all upgrades. Didn't have enough mats though... so more Dragons needed to die. Restocked on potions and went to Emprise du Lion.

Killed all three dragons in 2 Lightning Flask + Fire Flask + Thousand Cuts cycles each. Potions used: 1 heal potion on out of position Dorian, 3 Tears of the Dead. Status of Focus meter after 3 dragons: Full for entire party.

Most broken class in the game, by a mile.

Time to craft armor, kill the final dragon in the Hissing Wastes, then use all remaining materials to craft Cassandra a Templar armor. I might have farm some Obsidian first for a Fade Touched one though.... or maybe I'll use the Dragonbone for a staff for Dorian or something. We'll see :P

So, I just performed what was perhaps the greatest bank heist in the history of Thedas: By abusing Alexius' "Time Magic"™, the Inquisition's agents gathered ~45,000 gold for me in absolutely no time at all.

Heh he.. "No time"...

(Basically, I just cheated on the War Table mission "Gather Coin" by changing my system time, thus completing the operation instantly... And then I ran the operation again. Repeatedly.)

So now I face Corypheus. I tell everyone I will face him myself. This will be quick. My power is back to what it was before I ended up in this body.

I deal some damage and in comes the dragon.  I reveal my true form and burn the dragon with a touch. Now its your turn Corypheus.

Corypheus: Who are you?

me: you don't remember do you? It seems that red lyrium has effect your memory. Try really hard.

Coryphues: I...I.. No..No. This can't be. How were you able to get in this world.

me: It was your orb that brought me here. You will have to answer to my Lord and Master

Corypheus:  NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

me: Tell my master I will see him shortly.

Back at Skyhold

Josephine: Well done my lady.

me: Thank you. I'm leaving to go see how my family is doing. I will be back when I can

Josephine: Yes my Lady.

I leave this body to head back to my world. I look down at the body that is sound asleep. You served me very well Elizabeth Nancy Trevelyan. You have a nice family. You will be honored in my world for what you have done. I leave you a gift that will help in your many adventures that you will face in the future. Live well.

Back at my world

me: My Lord I must speak with you.

The Lord: Of course my dear. I was just about to hand punishmsnt to Corypheus

me: May I make a suggestion my Lord.

The Lord: By all means.

me: Before you past punishment, I like to request that we build a statue in honor of the mortal that helped me while I was away from this world.

The Lord: A most unusual request. Show me what this mortal looks like. Mmmm. Mortals are ugly. You sure you want a statue made in this, this thing's image.

me: Yes my Lord. Its a female, and according to the mortals and the mortals I encountered, she is considered very good looking.

The Lord: What? You my dear are the one who is good looking. Very well. Request granted.

me: I would like to add that Corypheus build the statue as a punishment with the souls of the dead making sure he builds it.

Corypheus: What? No.

The Lord: SHUTUP FOOL. Granted. I want to hear him scream the whole time while he's building the statue. Well done my dear.

me: Thank you my Lord.

The Lord: Desdemona? Would you walk with me to the Hall of Death and tell me about your time with the mortals?

me: Of course my Lord

back at Skyhold

Josephine: How is your family doing, my Lady?

Elizabeth Nancy Trevelyan: They're doing well.

Josephine: I like your new staff. Did you craft that yourself.

ENT: No I didn't. I took a nap and when I woke up, it was there. It seems someone crafted it for me without sticking around for me to say thanks.

Josephine: Anyways, I have lots of things that need your attention.

ENT: Didn't you say you enjoyed our dance at the Winter Palace?

Josephine: Yes I did my Lady

ENT: Would you join me in my quarters for a dance?

Josephine: I would like that, my Lady

Nang Fa, Cassandra, Vivienne and Dorian slew the final dragon. It fell, as the others had before her, in about a minute. We then set off for the store in the Hissing wastes and bought schematics for the Mages and a Templar armor for Cassandra (looks AMAZING... in my next run though I'll get the 'short list' perk and by superior armor versions of everything I bought now. And will done myself in Keeper Armor... but I digress)

Dragons killed today: 7.

Crafted a whole buncha stuff, among which a Superior Serpent Shield (or something for Cassandra), with Fade Touched Silverite. She ain't ever gonna die. (not that she did, but hey :P). Almost completely depleted the dragon materials, so it's time for the Arbor Wilds.

To sum up my latest playthrough of Elizabeth Nancy Trevelyan

class - mage

coin - 67 000 coin

Morrigan drank from the well

Hawke wanted to stay in the fade and do some more sightseeing

conscripted the mages

allied with the Wardens

Lelaina became Divine.

finished at level 23 on nightmare.

I find nightmare mode as easy as insanity mode for ME3. Maybe easier

I did not recruit anyone. Solas left at the end, so I only had Cassandra and Varric left. I was surprised about Varric since he gave me a number of greatly disapproves. I encourage Cassandra to become Divine, but somehow Leliana was made divine. I was trying to have one companion left since Bioware said that can be done.

I have done 5 playthroughs. My next playthrough will be as a male who romances Cassandra. For now I will finish my ME3 playthrough.

I was going to brag about being on a dragon crusade by killing 4 dragons in one day(on normal difficulty). But Psychevore has killed 7 (taking less than a minute each), so I feel kind of inadequate in comparison

I went to the Hinterlands and this is the first dragon where I finished a dragon fight in under 15 mins. This was because I was a couple of levels above the dragon and I didn't get incapacitated which is also a first in one of my dragon fights. Then I went to the Exalted plains and killed the dragon and the time was about the same of 15 mins. I took a break from killing dragons by doing the Imshael quest.

After this I thought I would try my luck with two of the three dragons in the Emprise du lion (I can't remember the name of the dragons I killed but it wasn't the Highland Ravager). These two dragons were a lot more tough because they seemed to use guard more frequently and the dragonlings were a nuisance. These two battles probably lasted about half an hour each. I think I prefer a long dragon fight because it gives you more of a sense of victory later. However, I haven't been blessed with a short dragon fight so I guess I can't comment . This brings my dragon total for this playthrough to 6/10 so I am ever closer to getting the achievement.

I was then a bit too cocky and I tried to beat the Ravager dragon and the Vinsomer dragon. I got slaughtered and I was using fade-touched silverite custom equipment.

I went back to Orlais and I had enough money to buy the 'mystery box'. I couldn't resist the temptation. Let's just say I think I was short-changed. I could have used all the money for new armour schematics and I had to choose the mystery. I also finally got my assassin spec at level 21.

I've been pacing myself on the dragons since I'm not level 20 yet. We've done four of the dragons with the toughest fight having been the Abyssal since she nerfed the fire half of our mage arsenal and popped guard so often, but even that was a war of attrition more than a near thing.

All this dragon hunting going on! I wanna play too, especially since i didn't get my achievement last game, thanks to the bug... but Harold's only level 10. He'll get curb-stomped.

So we wrapped things up in Redcliffe, sort of. Have to head back and see if Lord Woolsely made it home, and tell the elven widower we placed those flowers for him.

In the meantime we closed all the rifts in the Hinterlands, even the one by the river, so feeling pretty good about that. Harold's bear skin coat with the cold resistance bonus really did come in handy against the despair demons.

Am hoping that by the time I turn in those last couple quests I'll have enough influence for the Deft Hands perk, but I may have to go to Valammar after all.
