I finished playing Trespasser this evening. My thoughts on it.

So, I played as my Knight Enchanter Alessandra, who's my longest serving Inquisitor and one of my faves.

 

The opening scenes at the winter palace where you catch up with everyone were well done. My faves were Josie, Vivienne, Sera, Dorian and of course Alessandra's love Cullen. Unfortunately, I chose that they not get married at this time, because in this Inquisitor's story, she's dedicated to her work and worries more about the events taking place in this DLC. But Cullen understands and still stays with her. He also adopted the mabari he rescued

 

The battles against the Qunari provided a good challenge for Alessandra and her party. For the first half, I rolled with Cassandra, Varric and Dorian. In the second half until the end, I switched Varric with Vivienne. She looked cool in her Divine armour, but I replaced it with crafted battlemage gear. Better that she's well equipped than just looking good. The fights against the sarebaes bosses were also challenging, especially the last one. 

 

Qun Iron Bull... That S.O.B. turned against my lady Inquisitor, but she easily killed him in cold blood. I wasn't surprised by this, because if the Chargers died in the main story, he'll obviously fight you.

 

As for the Inquisitor's anchor, holy cow! The discharge offensive ability where you unleash so much damage was awesome! Very effective against flanking mobs. However, I really felt for Alessandra when the anchor was affecting her so much. Just hearing and seeing her suffer was hard to watch. After her arm was amputated, it sucked she lost that awesome power, but she's still a powerful mage. Plus the idea of Dagna whipping up a cool looking prosthetic... Story writing on that!

 

As for Solas aka. bastard dread wolf, in a way saw this exchange as Xavier/Magneto, because he and my Inquisitor were friends now turned enemies after all that's happened. I chose the Inquisition to formally disband, but it leaves Alessandra and her few select allies including Cullen to secretly pursue Solas. I had it as a personal vendetta where on their next encounter, she'll kill him. That cutscene after the tapestry end was badass and the music was fitting  In a way, it reminded me of the Dark Knight just watching it. I just wish Alessandra wore the midnight tower uniform for that scene instead of the red one... ugh...

 

Overall, I enjoyed playing this DLC. I took a lot of pics and video of Alessandra. It was hard to end her run, but she lives on in the stories I'm writing. 

 

Next, I have Alessandra's twin sister, DW Assassin Natalia gearing up for this DLC. No doubt she'll destroy her enemies with the dream team Cassandra, Vivienne and Dorian! She also romanced Cullen. I hear wedding bells happening in this one!

Just got "The Dancer's Axe" schematic. Majestic. It may be t2, but it's just wonderful. I think I may use it from now on.

Who needs higher stats   

 

For anyone wondering. It's now a reward for completing "Judgment: Movran's Arrived!" war table mission. I don't know if you can get it for completing the one with Abernache.

It's not even look (tho it looks really cool), but skill it has. You use whirlwind as basic attack!

Time to obsessively check those every day.  It seems that most of the new schematics in the main game drop through war table missions and I pretty much did all the ones available in Haven before the DLC came out. Hopefully I didn't miss out on any super pretty ones.

Yeah. I'm actually glad I have two almost untouched characters waiting in Haven, one planned for those friggin trials and Phrona's pt still going. There really seem to be a lot of awesome stuff dropping.

 

And Sigils drop in vanilla game as well (got one yesterday from war table mission).

Yeah. I'm actually glad I have two almost untouched characters waiting in Haven, one planned for those friggin trials and Phrona's pt still going. There really seem to be a lot of awesome stuff dropping.

 

And Sigils drop in vanilla game as well (got one yesterday from war table mission).

 

Thankfully I have another character planned to finally romance Sera and to play as a warrior for the first time in Inquisition after experiencing the joy of being a Reaver in MP.  I'm just very "Gotta catch them all!" with these things. Getting those trial achievements will be... A trial.

Warrior... at the beginning I couldn't get used to it, but it's so fun to play it! Mages and rogues are fun as well, but as you probably know this, every class brings different kind of fun

And one more thing I need to add. I'm in love with most of new skill upgrades. Some of them are just marvelous. Horn of Valor giving guard on hit for nearby allies?

That Ring of Pain upgrade actually made me use points in Reaver spec on Bull. Normally I avoid it, but with that skill following him. Not bad, not bad at all. Though my personal favourite, that made my decision about replaying my canon Rift Mage lady final, was upgrade to PotA. It finally deals damage!

I'm on the train to London for a long weekend break with my wife. As I predicted, I didn't finish Trespasser, but I really enjoyed what I've seen so far. I'm especially pleased that everything I have been saying about Sera needing time in an environment where she feels wanted, appreciated, and in Tressa's case loved seems to have been correct. I'm very happy for her.

Schematic. You get it from "Stop War Between Nevarra and Tevinter" war table mission. I was lucky to have save where that mission was waiting to be completed.

I've chosen the templars in the majority of my playthroughs

 

I try to choose the templars, but I can't because I can't stand not having Dorian about as early as possible.  I did it once.  And it hurt me.  LOL.

Today my speedrun inquisitor (an elf) decided to drink from the Well and then proceeded to get her heart broken by Solas. Good times!

Same! I've thought about it, just can't bring myself to ally with the mages. And it makes more sense to me as warrior-class characters will always be my aesthetic. Maybe someday...

That's the only downside about choosing the templars. I like Dorian, but I prefer siding with the templars even when playing as a mage.

Not a spoiler per se, but important for people with mage Inquisitors:

 

Do not use the Lyrium Staff, or a crafted version of that staff in Trespasser.

 

There is one scene, where the staff's head will obscure most of of the screen and all you'll see, will be the back of the head of your inquisitor and the staff's head.

I feel the urge to start a new DAI PT (even tho I still have to send Bruce still through Trespasser  but idk, I don't want him to lose his hand  ) but my WS for my Solasmance isn't ready yet   Means I should go back to DAO and finish my current PT, so I can play DA2.

Yes but having Dorian turn up at the gates for In Your Heart Shall Burn is awesome! I much prefer him to Cole in that scenario.
