Yes, it's Carta Coat ![]()
Once again All Hail Golden Nug!
Does one have to start a game from scratch to do the trials?

If you're asking about achievements - there's one that requires that. Some of them have special requirements as well, but most of them can be done even on pt you're in a middle of.
If you're asking about trials as additional difficulty option - you can switch them on whenever you want.
I'm just asking in general because nowhere in my game do I see an option to even try them.
I'm enjoying Golden Nug and doing an early run of Jaws of Hakkon, started at level 14 now I'm level 16 with full tier/mats 3 equips, giant killed me thrice though

You need to load character and then go into options. There should be new section added named "Trials". When you create character, behind "Nightmare" difficulty, there should be "Custom" difficulty and that's where you can also switch them on for newly created character.
Though for this to be available you need to have Trespasser installed.
Ah. What a PITA. I already won Trespasser with one char. Plan on doing it again with my DW rogue. But I have my new rift mage Ameerah and I was all like.. "where are these magical trials everyone keeps speaking of?!" Heh.

Which one requires you to start a new game? Obviously you can't do the Take it Slow/Skyhold one if you are already at level 6 or above but you shouldn't need to turn it on at character creation if you are still in Haven and low level.
Replayed Trespasser for a second time and this moment struck me as one of the best of the dlc. Bann Teagan got served on this question. I answered the 3rd choice without hesitation.
Still playing Descent with KE Julia. Cleared out the Deep Roads levels and have opened all the doors I can for now. Next up is

Trial of the Lovers. You need to have Fair-weather friends switched on from the beginning.
I'm waiting to get trespasser to get those trials shame they didn't add them with the update and you have to purchase the dlc to get them.
I will star a nightmare playthrought with all the trials on. I will try to do all the game from A to Z in this insane no life mode lol
You're camping wrong, Fereldan

Still makes me giggle every time I see it.
Thanks for the info on the trials. I turned most of them on. But really so far the only things I've seen are an elite nug, an elite dragonling and some elite zombies shuffling around. I was expecting a hoard of bears in Fereldan, but that never materialized. Also got that nifty KE blade from the war table mission. Oh, and I killed the Fereldan Frostback. Sorry pretty yellow dragon. I need your hide. It's not personal.
I said I was planning on making Ameerah a rift mage but then I realized I didn't want to do all the work involved finding the Venatori tomes, and I already had most of the Wisps (and I was in the Fallow Mire anyhow) so I just went with my bread and butter and made her a KE. Because laziness and familiarity. And I can use that spirit blade sword/staff.

The most fun (at least in my opinion) is Walk Softly. Seriously, some enemies become crazily amazing. Last night I was cleaning Whichwood from apostates. There's that Mage boss with some Spellbinders there. Well, Mage and one of Spellbinders were affected by Walk Softly. Spellbinder decided to use Mind Blast every time I got close (and I was mostly with melees) while Mage decided to Dispel my barrier while using Fade Cloak when I was about to backstab him. That was marvelous.
Kinda reminds me how I was reloading Venatori for Dorian's quest, because I refused to go further into Exalted Plains that to Dalish Camp. So I had to get my two other tomes from Hinterlands Venatori ![]()

It's actually quite impressive that they managed to get a fire going there! ![]()

I have taken to getting up early (mostly because my cat wakes me up an hour before my alarm) and playing a bit before I meander off to work. Hopefully this evening I can see some of these new moves in action. And my new staff/sword. I crafted it but didn't get to use it!
I mostly didn't want to go to the Exalted Plains. I really really really hate the EP. Like, my hatred of it is irrational and I acknowledge it as irrational but it is still such a slog.

Maybe they used... wait for it.... magic?! ![]()

Kind of a hypocritical move to fix The Descent Merchant, but sell unique weapons and a schematic at such high prices in Trespasser.

Not really, when the merchant in The Descent was a mistake, and the Golden Nug means you only ever have to buy each schematic once now.
