Some interesting things.  With The trials on where enemies level with you, you level up to 27 in the vanilla game doing it relatively completionist.  At least this is what has happened to Ameerah.  I generally play completionist and have found that I was at level 27 with 2 zones left (the Exalted Blahs and the Hissing Wastes).  I purposely left my least favorite place (the Plains) and my favorite place (the Hissing Wastes) for last.  Hissing Wastes are an incentive for finishing the Planes.

Here are some things I got!  A fancy 2H sword as a trials reward.  Gave it to Bull.

There really is a whole lot of nothing in the Western Approach

I got a schematic for this nifty shield as a trials reward.  Yeah I made it Stormheart mint.  Because that's how I roll.. Gives a guardian spirit free block ever 30 seconds.

There are Grey Wardens in my stronghold.  Never noticed that before...

Jeez.  The description for this say upgraded Earthshaking Strike shoots flames.  This looks like lava to me.  LAVA!

Imagine Ameerah's shock when she finds out Blackwall has been living the world's biggest lie.  LIES!!

I killed a bunch of  level 27 dragons.  Only the Sandy Howler is left.  A level 27 Sandy Howler.  FUN TIMES!!!

Ah, I stopped using mods, but this hair mod... I had to save it. Just in case. It's just too wonderful.

And my canon Quizzy loves this hairstyle.

Either way, beautiful elf!

-snip-

I like this greatsword! It has the same appearance as Knight-Enchanter Greatsword, which I just love! I hope I'll be able to get it on my 2h Templar.

The Knight's Second is wonderful shield. There's one more schematic available thru trials (that I know for sure), that gives the most beautiful blade IMO.

Spoiler

Hah, I wouldn't be able to resist dragons that long  I had hard time stopping myself from killing Fereldan Frostback before lvl16!

To be fair, I killed a couple of them at level 24.. And totally forgot about the Frostback achievement and killed her at... level 12.  D'oh!

I remade one of my Inquisitors, the one I'm always playing as a 2-handed Champion but this time around he'll be a DW rogue. And I'm having trouble getting into this because I honestly hate the DW rogue playstyle when you lack fun active and passive abilities.  I just want to get to Skyhold so I can get my spec and masterwork crafting.

I'm so used to playing DW rogues in multiplayer where you have the most fun builds after like, an hour of playtime. Uuuuugh! :P

For those who have the trials on I remember it saying in the game that the trials when on can cause your party members to react odd or differently or something like that. Is that a major issue? I want to turn on some of the trials, but this warning is making me a little hesitant.

I'm running with trials on since they appeared and I have yet to notice any strange behavior.

Hmm, well next time I'm playing I'll turn on a few because some of those rewards look really cool.

Yep, some are really awesome. Just remember you can save before picking up the reward and reload if you get something you don't like :)

I have so many crap sigils.  Sigil of Lyrium and sigil of Felandris.  Ugh.  But every once in awhile I get a gem. I am using the sigil of the Nug on Dorian for the health regeneration at the cost of attack.  Doesn't seem to be messing with his attack too badly.  I also have the 200% flanking damage one on Cole.

Not a trials reward, but I got an amulet as random loot drop that puts your mage into stealth when you go into combat and makes your first attack an automatic critical hit.  I of course opportunistically use energy barrage and have like 12 critical hits on one target.

From what I know this one is one of contest items and they're not random loot. They are in fixed locations.

I love this end scene, because it's parallel to the beginning of the main story. Watch out, Solas, she's coming for you!

DAI_Trespasser_Group_Revenge1_zpsv6qb6xs[/spoiler]

Yeah. For me, having just taken the Inquisition from Vivienne's grabbing hands, it seemed like the core team starting again, acting outside Chantry control and doing what was right instead of worrying about scheming politicians posing as people of faith.

Spoiler

I hated Vivienne as Divine. Cassandra calls her a tyrant and leaves the exalted council.

In this end scene, I'm thinking this is in a hidden remote area with similar setup to Haven's underground Chantry prison. It can't be Haven, because Solas obviously knows about the place.

Either the construction in this place is incredibly similar to Haven's, or that final scene really is set in Haven. I loaded up an early save and ran around the dungeon area to compare things, and it seems to match up precisely with the dungeon in the final scene.

Screenshot from super-early save in Haven:

ScreenshotWin32_0120_Final.png

You will notice that:

  1. The same chair is below the same torch in both pictures.
  2. The same pot is visible on the left side of the photo (it's next to the chair in both images). And seriously, the pot has the same square mouth in both pics.
  3. There is rubble scattered around in the same place around the chair and the pot.
  4. There's that wooden post off to the right that, as far as I can tell, is the same one in both shots.
  5. You can even see the bedroll in the cell in the exact same place.

The only two differences are:

  1. The team's war table.
  2. The cell door and bars that used to be there off on the left side (visible in my screenshot) seem to be gone (unless it's a lighting thing - but it doesn't seem like a lighting thing).

I would bet my favorite nug Schmooples on it being Haven. That, or the Seekers/Chantry/whoever built that place were under orders to put all their pots, chairs, and bedrolls in the exact same places in every building that they ever built. If that scene didn't take place in Haven, boy, I will be very surprised.

If it really is Haven (as I suspect it is), then there's a certain symbolism in going back to the roots of the current Inquisition - back before things got messed up by bureaucracy and political interference, etc.

Which settings you changed to get not-blurry picture? I'm kinda curious.
And too lazy to play with them myself.

Me too! It seems quite an odd thing to happen.

I changed from medium to high:

Tessellation
Texture
Post-process quality
Post-process antialiasing

Not sure which did the trick but one of the moderators on the tech support forum thought it was either one or both of the last two. Apparently other people have had the same issue so hopefully the fix works for them as well.

I get the symbolism of going back to one's roots, but what I'm going for is having the Inquisitor and her core team return to Haven to plan a war against Solas is a disadvantage. Solas knows the Inquisitor regards Haven as a place that's familiar and will always remain in her heart. It would be too easy for he and his agents to find her there and kill her.

That said, if the Inquisitor and her team are going after this guy, they have to remain hidden and their new base of operations is a secret.

I doubt Bioware would be that silly to have them stay in Haven again. They just reuse the Haven assets for a secret underground meeting or something like that. If there ever comes a DA4 then it will be something very different.
