There is nothing wrong with maging it up.  This is sadly, why I've never really run with a dwarf.  I mean, I can play as a rogue or a warrior and occasionally play as a dagger rogue but by and large I play as a mage.  I guess I want the option to be a mage for all races.  I mean, it's one thing to be pocket sized, the least you can do is be able to zap someone with lightning for making short jokes....

The reason I'm playing a Mage is becuase Cass's former lover was a Mage. So I decided to make a Mage for her.

Mages are so fun to play in the DA series.  I keep saying I'm going to do one, then change my mind at the last minute and go rogue.  This one's an archer, and the last was a dual-wielder.  I think next time I'm going to go all sparkly again and run a mage.  Maybe I'll go totally mad and roll up a male and romance Cassandra again....  Well, back to finish off the Western Approach and then the (endless) Exalted Plains.

To be frank, James and his crew repeatedly got their a**** kicked by Imsheal for like the twentieth time on nightmare mode. Deciding to do a strategic retreat to resist saying screw Michel and taking the demons deal he opted to return to Skyhold and show Dorian the letter for the Redcliffe meeting.

This is one of those grass is always greener things because as an American I can think of a zillion places to go that are cooler than the US.  Though there are some pretty sweet places in this country.  But my immediate idea for a vacation is to get out of dodge and go traipse about the Italian countryside.  Or see if my CTA riding skills translate into London Underground skills. Or to go eat Thai food in Thailand and see how much spicier it really is...

Finished up Emprise by killing all the dragons, clearing out the red templars, and closing the rifts. Once again the rifts across the bridge scaled to my level, except this time they went down to level 20. Killed the Ravager with my level 20 party. Aravas and Dorian decided to take a dirt nap near the end of the fight but Varric stealthed his way over to reviving them. On the way he fell over Aravas since she was still in stealth from wearing the Ring of Doubt.

Located Samson's hideout way up north but haven't gone there yet.

Gave Cass a brand new book, hot off the press courtesy of Varric.

Finally marched to Adamant. Took care of the demons easily enough and now the party (Aravas, Dorian, Varric, Cass) is stuck in the Fade. I just remembered.....not taking Blackwall means he's going to pop up unannounced when we get back. That's really unsettling. Varric doesn't come out of nowhere to ask about Hawke if he's not in the party. Not sure why Blackwall is any different.

After leaving them there, I loaded up my first Dalish elf from DAO to replay where they discover the Eluvian. Never knew there were dialogue options with Tamlen you could get by clicking on him while exploring the place. :o  But, I gave it up after they both bit it against a couple of undead before ever finding the mirror and my last save was back at the entrance. <_< I didn't want to deal with the spiders again. I think the difficulty is still set to hard, which is probably why I was having issues. Poor little wimpy level 1 archer. :P

Okay so I suddenly have a crush on Solas so I had to start over with a completely new game, elven mage. Also I haven't done the Trespasser DLC nor Descent so I needed to get to that. Unfortunately I'm supposed to be taking my CPA exam in January and its taking forever getting through this play through since I work 9 to 5 as well. I decided to keep difficulty to normal and skip the shards. To make things worse I messed up and didn't complete Solas' personal quest before the Winter Palace and didn't get to dance with him :( :( so I went back to a prior save...and to my horror the prior save was an autosave a really long time ago, and I had to do the entire Western Approach again.

Aaaggghhhh

Just finished Western Approach and bullet-galloped through Exalted Plains straight to Solas' personal quest without stopping along the way so I can do the Winter Palace right.

Yeah, you do realize that I was born in America. Lived there for good chunk of my life. I just moved to NZ about 2 years ago. And I like traveling, too.

No, I'm a city slicker. But why are you envious? Their isn't any hobbits here, only a lot of sheep (there are more sheep then people living in NZ). I'm guessing your a LOTR fans?

Running around Hissing Wastes with Solas, Bull, and Varric in the vain hope of triggering the chess game. So far, no luck. :( Varric mentioned meeting the Arishok, and then the other Arishok, and Solas asked Varric about Hard in Hightown. They met the Chantry sister for the first time and freed a slave from the Venatori, and of course killed a bunch of mooks, demons, spiders, wyverns, and (accidentally) a couple of gurn.

notBlackwall is in the Skyhold dungeon awaiting judgment, and Bianca is hanging out in the creepy cave waiting for Varric and Aravas to show up. They might be a while. Cole is worried about being bound but Aravas hasn't retrieved the amulet-that-doesn't-just-work yet.

Why would I realize you were born in the US?  I make no assumptions about that!  I mean, I know that NOW...  Lots of people here are from far flung locations... :) Not just us  people stuck in the midwest.  LOL!

Well, I was a LOTR fan long before Peter Jackson made his movies, so not sure how that is relevant. If you'd have guessed I was a Xena:Warrior Princess fan, you'd be closer to the mark. :)

But really, do I a need any other reason than the fact that both of these places are in the same country?

Okay, technically you could find two similar pictures that are both in the US (Wyoming and Hawaii, respectively), but you'd have to travel thousands of miles to go from one to the other. NZ on its longest dimension is only 990 miles end to end.

Running around the Hinterlands, and complaining about elves. Some elven woman in Redcliffe didn't want to help the refugees at the Crossroads because humans keep calling elves 'knife-ear', and then I run into another elven woman in the Hinterlands, who calls ME 'flat-ear'.  What the hell. Anyway, on our way to check out what's going on in Redcliffe with the mages, and then trying to resist helping them :P Roleplaying a Templar is tough when you want to romance Dorian.
