Finally, finally, got the last two banters of the chess game (there are 6 total). It took going from the Wastes to the Oasis to the Western Approach to Emprise to farm silverite and lastly back to the Deep Roads before the last one triggered. Sheesh! Now Aravas just has to talk to everyone at Skyhold and she can go kill the bad guy. ![]()

One of the creepier sounds in Frostback occurs when looking for the lost scout. Just stop and listen when you starting finding the burnt remains. I will be taking Aravas there after Cory is no longer a problem.

One thing about the banter about Cory. I still hear the bet between Dorian and Varric, but he's already dead! Hello, fellas, wale up.
What's more ridiculous is that I finally hear the end segment of the bet. I want to swipe at them both. ![]()
Met Ameridan. One inquisitor to another, I salute thee. After that went to beat up Hakkon. He's an annoying dragon, I don't much like chasing him from one platform to another. The little ones he summoned are hilarious though. I stayed beneath the overhang of the platform he's standing on and whirl at the little guys. They flew up and disappeared.
I recorded a complete fight, then another because I was puzzled by the jibe about elfroot. Huh? ![]()
P.S. I know some people complained of empty spaces, insufficient ambiance in cities which are valid. But I feel the wilderness is excellently done, there can't be a whole lot of vigorous activity out there. What would you see in a semi-desert? People dancing? No, it's just sand, scruffy plants, wind, sky, a great emptiness that one sees with the naked eye but if one is quiet and patient, one can feel the tiny lives that move unseen. And if the inquisitor and party were RL people on such missions, that's exactly how it's going to be. Journeys will take days, there will be stretches where they are the only bipeds. They will have to ford natural obstacles if there is no road, etc.
In a forest, it's the air, the sounds, life that permeates the surroundings. I know, it's a game and there are certain expectations because it's a game (the quests move me here to there and therefore I expect logical interesting attention grabbing activities pertaining to every one of those quests, big or small. The areas I move through are very cool but hey let's keep the quests pumping) But I keep coming back to DAI because I don't think of it as just a game. The devs created the varied areas so well it's a close reflection of the real thing. That's only one aspect of why I keep coming back though. Anyway, that's how I feel about it.

Does anyone have the Trespasser eluvian bug? The first time through the eluvian, the game just get stuck on loading. I know selection of companions is supposed to come up but it doesn't. It just hangs there. Doing a repair got over the hurdle but it's irritating having to keep doing it when it hangs during the transition.
P.S. Nvm, I found the solution.

Cory is no more. Inspired Leliana was named Divine. After the party, Aravas spent some quality time with Cullen.
Now she's back at it, wandering the Frostback Basin looking for trying to avoid spiders. Haven't run into any Hakkonites yet but found some pretty veil quartz.
With both Even Ground and Take It Slow on all game, she just reached level 24 after setting up the second camp.

In DA II, I mostly think of the qunari as a formidable race that followed a very strict set of rules and abide by it. in DAI, I positively disliked them and even more when I hear what Viddasala had to say. Peace? What peace? It's enforced enslavement, under the Qun where you are forever locked in a role they dictate you must be and cannot ever deviate from without losing some of your mind when you try. I was pleased to see Solas killed her and all the rest of her forces. I have no strong opinion about DA races but in this case, the qunari is one I detested.
I do not see Solas as an enemy. Knowing some of his history and his character, I cannot put him in that category. I chose to try redemption.
In the end, I kept the Inquisition despite an earlier decision to disband. A smaller peacekeeping force under Devine Victoria. As Cass pointed out, the org will be riddled with spies from the Qunari and Solas, but I feel it makes no difference if the group are returned to common status. Neither the Qunari nor Solas could leave them untracked, especially the Inquisitor. And Solas definitely know they would not let things lie. Keeping a small mobile army to call on is better than trying with a weaker force when need arises. Leliana pointed out Solas knew how the group worked. True but it's a weakness and also a strength, the other thinks he knows the Inq and may underestimate her, she just have to do something he would never think of, something he didn't think she would do.
Who's the next enemy on the horizon? I feel it's the Qunari since they begun fresh attacks against Tewinter and Solas. Tewinter may lose the battle since the qunari have learned quite a bit about eluvians and how to strengthen their own mages. How it would play out, I've no idea but I do know, since the Inquisitor wants to redeem Solas, they would have to meet again. The chances of this happening in the next game depends on whether the devs would choose to discard what happened in Trespasser, the choice of redemption. I'd prefer the Inquisitor play an equal active role next to whoever the new protagonist is. Both chars working together to defend Thedas against what is to come.
At the end, I'm sorry when the party left. I felt the loss but everything has to move forward. Is DAI a good game? It has its flaws but yes, it is a great game to me. One that involves and touches me emotionally. I have faith in the DA dev team and look forward to see what they would do. But in truth, were the Inq to die to convince Solas (he regards her as friend, what would he do if she dies for him?) that he is wrong, then so be it. Herald of change she is, then let the last act of hers be one that will save and change Thedas completely (and pls don't be RGB of ME, I will utterly drop Bioware's products).
P.S. I'd like Teagan to toddle off and die of something so he doesn't appear to fart his spleen in the next part of the story.
Next up, playing the only male warrior inquisitor I made, just for Cass.
I don't have any games to look forward to currently, there's only Tomb Raider PC version next year.

I found something in Trespasser while re-rolling my canon Inquisitor, Natalia. After replaying she and Cullen's wedding scene, I went into the inventory to find her armour unequipped. When I equipped Natalia's armour, she's wearing it in the winter palace instead of her black formal outfit.
It was cool watching some of the inner circle scenes with Natalia wearing her armour, but it switched back to her black formals after Vivienne's spa scene. If I don't play the spa scene, Natalia can also wear her armour during the first scenes of the exalted council meeting. Better late than never to find this out.

I have the spa scene for the first time in the recent PT.
When I first played Trespasser, Viv was the Devine
, I was shocked at that (it was a PT with results I've forgotten), wasn't expecting it, I don't like Viv. I went to speak to her in the recent PT since she's not Devine, thinking she would say something about the mage college. When she said spa, I thought she meant soaking in hot pools but ended up seeing the two of them with cheese on their eyes.
Ugh!!!

Explored more of the Frostback Basin. Met the friendly Avvars, killed a lot of the unfriendly Avvars, and borrowed a boat to talk to a spirit. Cole liked that last part. Love upgraded Aegis of the Rift. So much fun watching all those projectiles turn their damage on the ones shooting them.
Killed the level 30 despair demons and the frost giant, and farmed a bit of veil quartz.
Next up: On Ameridan's Trail - waiting for Kenric and Harding at Razikale's Reach.

After 10 hours in The Hinterlands, I moved on to the Storm Coast. Still can't believe I spent so long in the Hinterlands in my 928385732873th playthrough :') I always take Blackwall to the Stormcoast but now I switched Solas/Dorian for Cassandra in the hopes she might teach him something about how to use armor. I don't know what I did wrong but Blackwall gets killed instantly with every enemy while Cassandra is an armored death-machine, and both of them have the same armor skills.

The only time I went out of bounds was to try to get to those mosiac pieces that were stuck.
Several of us (posters) tried innovative ways, using steeds to fling ourselves over the barriers and what nots.
Their putting back those missing pieces put an end to our (well, mine) "outer space" adventuring. ![]()

I actually haven't gone out of bounds at all (intentionally) in my current game, not even for that stupid bag of fluff in Redcliffe. I kinda forgot about it when I was there. ![]()
Finished JoH and saved the world from yet another god bent on destroying everything (finally remembered which dialogue option to pick to get that line.
). I tried to use Firestorm for the first time ever and basically threw meteors at the snow instead of at Hakkon.
I don't think a single one hit him (her?) so I I'll stick to Mark of the Rift for focus power until I get the hang of it better.
I didn't feel like starting Trespasser just yet, so I took Sera, Bull, and Blackwall to hunt the last two dragons: Gamordan Stormrider and Vinsomer. Even though they matched my level (26) they didn't seem to be as difficult to kill as I remember. Maybe 'cause I'm playing on Normal this time? That's the only reason I can think of.
Killing Hakkon put me at level 26, so we'll see how close I get to the max with Trespasser. Even though I've been getting only half experience all game, it really doesn't feel like I've leveled all that slowly. More like how it should have been all along. Although, having Even Ground on as well means I'm getting experience with just about every enemy. Without that one active too, it would definitely be harder to reach the max.

What bag of fluff?
I decided to play the female Inq again (fresh start) and also made another guy. I kinda want to romance Cass all over again.
Actually experience it again since I played the poor first male Inq was quite some time ago. A year ago maybe.
I'm switching companions around this time; I usually stick with one set. I once did bring Cole but he made a poor rogue. Sera, hardly ever though I'm tempted to bring her to the haunted mansion. This time I'm bringing Blackwall, another comp I hardly bring along, for opening zones and minor quests. I also decided to not recruit Viv this time. It's not going to make much diff, I usually do the book and heart quests and then don't talk any more to her since she makes me want to bob her face with something every time she said something sanctimonious. ![]()

I've been remiss in updating my adventures with Adam. We went to Val Royeaux. Spoke to some Chantry broads and some obnoxious Templars.

We ran into a ninja who was just chillin against a wall..

We recruited Sera but completely ignored the messenger standing in the Summer Bazaar. Adam has things to do that don't involve social niceties. THERE IS A MOTHAFRAGGIN HOLE IN THE SKY, Y'ALL!.
Adam closed the breach... But still felt things were not 100% cool..

They weren't. Oops.
There were some bears doing my work for me. Killed that rogue Templar Cass was looking for right off.

We took Caer Bronch in Crestwood. Then we took care of an infestation. Suck it, Snowball!

Bull also killed his first dragon in Crestwood and was very very excited. VERY excited.

Went to the mercenary fort in Hinterlands. Just before the bridge, watched a bear attacked a trio of mobs. I chain-pulled one of the archers and put him out of his misery. The bear killed the other two. Unfortunately, I have to kill the bear.
Then I tried to bite off more than I can chew.
I went at level 8 to try a clear a level 12 Rift. Cleared the first wave and died at the second wave. Too hot!

Oh I hate that. I know how you feel. It happens quite a few times, all that work and one or two miserly items to show for it.
That's a bigger opening of the map than I've done. I've only gone right to where I can see Redclife Castle clearly but didn't try further because the horse was moving weirdly. I was thinking also of holes in the unfinished map. ![]()
Went to the shard zone as it's quite a low level area. I'm wondering about the story behind this poor guy. Was he a miner? Was it punishment? If so, what did he do? Or was it some cruel bandits that did this to him? Or perhaps he was a bandit and the miners did it.

Was looking at some screenies...
This is how I feel, listening to Viddasala... ![]()

You guys! My in-laws are coming to town so I have to spend my evenings cleaning my condo instead of gaming. Ugh. So last night, I decided to be an adult and fold all my clothes and put them away instead of being the lazy slug who just leaves them in the clothes basket to collect wrinkles. My husband is all "you don't need to clean the house" about things but there is "this is how we live - a level of dirty we are comfortable living with" and "guest clean". The house needs to be guest clean. I'd also take the house to guest clean for my parents as well. They can't realize that their fully adult children are one step above animals.
Anyhow, carry on with your gaming. I'll live vicariously through your adventures.
