My favourites are the first and the last. These are great. Makes me wonder which game I'm playing
.
Well, I missed the New Year's Day playing marathon recovering from NYE. Then missed yesterday recovering from NYD.
Where was I... oh yeah...
After judging Florianne's remains and sentencing them to community service, I met Morrigan's son, and spoke with him for a little bit. Morrigan is very protective of him. He seems like a nice boy. Morrigan is raising him well.
Cullen was having lyrium withdrawals and I supported him in kicking the lyrium habit. He was grateful.
I recommended Cassandra for the divine. We'll see if that has any weight.
And we cleared out the red templars from the Storm Coast, and the Elven Tomb in the Emerald Graves. I returned the historical document to the elves so that they could learn what really happened with the exalted marches. I don't know what the red templars were doing there or why they were interested in that.
Then we went to Crestwood. Apparently the wardens are looking for Stroud.
Oh, and I killed the dragon on the Storm Coast.
That's what I did. And now I have to turn on my 360 so I can go to the war room and schedule those 12 hr missions and go to bed.

Thanks! These shots were only possible with flycam.
It was actually kind of ridiculous how much I pushed myself to have as many fabulous shots as possible with just me and Cullen, because it's the only time my girl could have action shots with her LI. This required using tactical view and having the rest of my party run as far as possible from each enemy group. And as a knight-enchanter playing on normal, I was not concerned with wiping out, lol.
Gotta say, I found "In Hushed Whispers" a much more enjoyable quest than "Champions of the Just," but then all the times I played DA:O and DA2, I always sided with the mages over the templars, whenever the choice presented itself, so it kinda makes sense I'd like the mage storyline better, I guess. Not to say the the Templar storyline wasn't fun, because it was. I liked going through the Fade and meeting Cole there, but I hated the timed parts, and the confusing-to-navigate-through-tree-filled-courtyard bit.
I enjoyed seeing what might've happened, had Harold not been at the Temple of Sacred Ashes at all. Poor Leliana, the future was not kind to her at all
... but there were fun fights and Alexius himself was much easier to fight than the Envy demon. Later, back in Haven I had the chance to ask Dorian if he'd been to see Alexius -- who was "down in the cells" --yet. Dorian hadn't been to see him, and didn't seem inclined to. So I thought I'd send Harold down there to see what Alexius had to say, and he wasn't there. Hmm... is he supposed to be?
When it came down to crunch time, I conscripted the mages into the Inquisition. Cassandra was happy. Bull was happy. Vivienne was very happy. Solas hates me but I'm used to that. Kinda looking forward to the Solas romance PT later, just so I can see what happy Solas is like for a change, heh. Leliana is apparently fighting the urge to tear my throat out with her hands whenever I get within five feet of her. She'll get over it, I'm sure. I hope. I wish I could have taken a picture of future her, so that I could show it to her whenever she gets uppity about whether I'm doing the right thing.
I checked on the Wiki afterwards, and apparently Cole is supposed to be standing near "the merchant by the main gates of Haven" but I don't see him anywhere. Ah well, I'm considering not recruiting him at all this time. Kinda want to wait for another PT when I'm not a rogue, and I need to have one around when we go out on quests. Like next PT, I'm planning on a non-Sera-romancing-warrior, so I can spend more time out on quests with both Varric and Cole.
Anyway, that about wraps up Harold's adventures for today. Got a couple of things I can still do in the Hinterlands before we leave Haven for good. Can go to Valammar, and I have to get hold of some obsidian for those damn dwarven puzzle boxes. I know there is lots of obsidian near the dragon in the Hinterlands, but... dragon.
Most of my best gear is fire-damage-dealing right now, and Frosty definitely wasn't my favorite dragon fight the first time around. Might try and stealthily pick up some obsidian instead. Hmm... yeah, send Harold out from camp by himself, stealth in towards the dragon, snatch some obsidz, stealth out again. Wonder if I could get those last four shards the same way. ![]()
I'm taking a break from my second playthrough because I can't be bothered to do sidequests to get 20 power for the Warden mission. So I'm making human female mage. My first human and mage in DA:I. I'm excited. ![]()
On the Cole thing, you walk to where he's supposed to be and there should be a search icon that pops up with the label ":look for Cole." But you have to get close enough to the spot to make it appear. You won't actually see him.

Oh, just woke up and the caffeine hasn't sunk in yet. My bad!
I wouldn't know about Haven. I've never seen either Cole or Dorian in Skyhold because I pretty much always finish it off after I get that ball rolling.
Did I say Skyhold? I meant Haven. ![]()

Cleared some undead from the Exalted Plains (thank God for stealth, is all I'll say). When the time came for blowing the horn on the ramparts and bringing oblivious Orlesians back, my brother shouted "IS THAT REAPERS?!" I knew that sound seemed familiar!
I was then graced with this dialogue before trying - and failing - to defeat Vinsomer at level 15. I just want material for fancy armour. ![]()
Iron Bull: LET'S GO FIND THE DRAGON!
Vivienne: Perhaps we shouldn't announce our presence to the dragon, my dear?
Iron Bull: Yes, ma'am.
I just love Bull's meek 'just been told off my the Iron Lady' voice. She's got the big man right in her pocket!
Also today, Cadash wh*red herself out to an Orlesian noblewoman, so that some farmers could become important and Josephine wouldn't get stabbed in her sleep. There's nothing like a little dwarf puffing up her chest, sticking her hands on her hips and saying "lady, I'm going to give you the best night of your life." Good times!
Lots of personal quests have been done today. Sadly flirting with Dorian and Cassandra has come to an end. Bull is 1/10th more interested in flirting (and I'm pretty sure his approval is maxed), so soon there will be oddly proportioned canoodling. One day, I will sacrifice the Chargers for this alliance thing. But this is not that day. I like them, and sod the Qun. Besides, I'd be distraught if I couldn't see Krem stood on a chair like a weirdo for the next 40+ hours.
Cadash won a lot of approval from Solas (for the first time ever?) for making Cole more spirit-like. It's funny because both Lavellans were cool with spirits and liked Cole, but Solas disapproved because they sided with Varric. Cadash just wants the amulet to work properly so that Cole won't get mind-controlled to stab her in the kidneys, but Solas approves immensely. Silly elf. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how different Cole is later on. We're off to sabotage Calpernia next, so that'll be fun. I haven't even spoken to the lady directly yet, and I already find her more interesting than Samson. I feel like things are building up to her being a potential ally, but that's probably my imagination.
Heh, that was the first thing I did with Sullastine that Solas liked when I let Cole become a spirit. Sully just did it because she thought Cole ought to let go of the vengeance thing. What the man did was horrible, but he didn't do it to what Cole is (the spirit), and holding a grudge like that for that long just isn't healthy for anyone. Besides, killing someone in anger like that won't bring the original Cole back. There was the possibility of justice to be done, but it needed to be looked at from a more rational viewpoint after Cole had cooled off.
And, oops! Spirit Cole ...

Reapers. Awesome. And the dialogue, too. I just made that up in my other post, figuring it was a conversation Viv and Bull would likely have, heh. *makes note* Take Viv and Bull dragon hunting.

No worries, I've been known to post before caffeine too
... I do know the part you're talking about with Cole in Skyhold, I got that scene in my first PT.
Awesome, found this great site with what the Vallaslin tattoos mean. (at least.. what they mean to the Dalish. I don't know they are slave markings... yet)

Cool site, thanks for the link. I always just picked the tattoo markings that I liked best, never knowing what they meant. This will be good for my next elf PT.
Almost forgot. Today, while waiting for the caffeine to kick in, I sent Harold up into the NE corner of the Hinterlands all by himself to try and find some obsidian. He stealthed in past a couple dragonlings, itching to pincushion them and take their scales the whole time. Then he heard the thunderous beat of the Fereldan Frostback's wings. Ulp. Don't get greedy, Harold, stick to the plan.
Was enjoying being sneaky so much that I didn't realize my twenty-nine seconds were almost up when I found my first chunk of obsidian. Uhh, yeah. So I dug it out of the rocks (acquired obsidian x2 woohoo, three more to go) and headed further in. And re-appeared out of thin air. Well, sh*t.
Why, why, why does the stealth cooldown last almost as long as the stealth itself?
Several dragonlings are squealing gleefully as they run to attack. They're far away, but I can still hear 'em out there, approaching. I don't look back. Then I hear the thunderous beat of the Fereldan Frostback's wings again. Sh*t. Sh*t. Sh*t.
Then the even-louder-than-the-wingbeat-roar-of-a-fireball. What the sh*t? Dive-roll behind a rock. Lose eyebrows. Jacket smoldering. No problem.
Oooh... shiny obsidian off to the left. Sh*t. Should I try for it? Stealth cooldown over? Hell yes! (acquired obsidian x3) Yay. Mission accomplished. Sneaky Harold lives to fight another day.
Thought about doing the Ocularum thing, but had to go back to camp and change my armor first deliver the dwarven puzzle-boxes. So... then I went to Redcliffe to unlock those two locked doors I couldn't get at without the deft hands perk. Guess what I found in the first building...
Ten chunks of obsidian. ![]()

Future Leliana reminded me of Wish-verse Buffy. Glad I didn't have to see that this time, though she wasn't very happy with me deciding what to do with the Templars without consulting the advisors first. Nevermind that Cassandra was with me and didn't protest in the slightest.....

Usually I immediatly push them away, but this run I'm going to eat all the lore, use all investigate options and basically RP to the max.And yes, I'm still busy building the female Elf. I got hungry, had dinner.Hmm.. those tattoos seem a little different from the DA:I ones. But I went for the Mythal one.

Hmm, I'd forgotten how Leliana reacts to the templar decision. I guess she's just gonna hate you whatever you choose, and Cassie's always got your back.
I'm trying to figure out which my Dalish lady has but I haven't a clue.

Those are all from Origins. I think the Inquisition markings are a bit different. I couldn't see my little elf mage's markings either. Closest to hers would be Dirthamen: The Keeper of Secrets, I guess.
Haha Spork, did you just really use 'Reapers' the way I think you did?
heh, maybe? I was just commenting on BraveVesperia's brother's reaction to the sound the Horn makes.
Haha Spork, did you just really use 'Reapers' the way I think you did? :PSnap a picture. Though I think, not sure, there are some new ones compared to DA:O, not sure though.
