Thomas was called to The Deep Roads. My first time playing this DLC. Really...blue . It was good fun and looked stunning, I enjoy hordes of enemies - I could do this all day, as Dorian would say. Not as challenging as the Hakkonites (although Aegis of the Rift did come in very handy).

Spoiler warning for the pics below, if you haven't played The Descent:

I'm using a fake world state for Sam's game, one where as many people as possible are dead. This HoF was a terrible person who didn't help anyone and killed just about everyone who tried to help her. So, I got this convo with Leliana when talking to her for the first time in her tent in front of the Chantry. It was interesting to find that she and Sam had in common the fact they should both be dead, but somehow survived, thanks to the magic of the temple. Or so they think. And really, even after playing the game multiple times, we still don't really have an answer as to *how* the herald survived. Could be luck, could be fate, could be "divine" intervention, or even the real thing. We just don't know.

Currently heading for a dark alley to see what this Red Jenny business is all about, and then it will be off to something called a "salon." Is this like a party, only called something that makes no sense instead? Typical Orlesian. <_<

Good to see this thread still going strong.

Still don't know when I will get a ps4. I know the longer I wait, the more the price for the DAI Game of the Year price will drop. Its currently at $39.99

I might start a DAO or DA2 playthrough.

For those who don't know. If you have AWR voicing your femquisitor, its her birthday today. She turns 30

In this run, Alistair was broody and jealous of the male Hero of Ferelden slaying the archdemon and dying instead of him.

In that run; it was King Cousland who surived and had a mistress. I think Alistair talked more shite about my Warden then yours I suppose. Not that's it's a contest or anything.

When playing a Dalish elf, I always make sure to avoid choosing dialogue options that imply knowledge of how human society works or that sounds like something a human would say.

I've briefly interrupted my current DAO pt because I'm not sure how to deal with Dwynn in The Arl of Redcliffe. Tell me, are the Dalish familiar with the concept of "hiring" someone for their services?

I've been replaying Dragon Age 2. I keep going back and redoing acts because I can't decide on anything!! I got to Act 3 and discovered I hadn't maxed out my relationships and everyone was too lukewarm, so I went all the way back and started over. Then I got through the Deep Roads and forgot to take Anders, so Carver died and I was like FFUUUU, and I went back and redid the Deep Roads. Then I just discovered I finished Fenris' Act 2 companion quest but I was indecisive and didn't want to be too forward and missed my opportunity to romance him in act 2 -_- I believe I can still romance him in Act 3 but I don't want to be single that long lol ...I couldn't decide if I wanted Anders again. Argh. I've always been obsessed with Anders but his radical and extreme views on mages have been irritating me this time around.

While combing over the Western Approach, in search of mineral deposits, I happened upon a mysterious dig site. It was little more than a giant hole in the ground in the middle of no where. The ramp leading down had fallen in so I couldn't go in and check it out myself. I got the strangest feeling when I stood next to it. That it was important somehow. I had my team search the camp for anything to explain this site. Dorian found some papers left behind. It was apparently dug out by the Wardens. Supposedly this hole leads to one of the burial chambers containing an Old God. I can only assume this is where they were planning to march once they had completed their demon army... I'm not sure what I should do with this...

Blights start when an Old God is found and corrupted by Darkspawn... what would happen if this Old God woke up on it's own? No corruption... would there still be a Blight? Would something equally worse come about? Should I collapse the hole? Leave it alone?... For the moment I will have the site covertly watched... I'm curious, but... hmmm...

Maya, now a fledging Arcanist, decided that Crestwood was too gloomy and wet, so she did something about it. Her Carta lock picking skills came in handy more than once. She learned that retaking the Keep from the bandits was totally optional and can be saved for later. When she tried to tell the Mayor the good news, about the sunny skies and the secret path around the back of the Keep, the ingrate skipped town.

Oh, and Vivienne found something both creepy and cheesy in the crypt beneath the waves ... (I don't know how many times I missed this one!)

Spoiler

Back at Skyhold, Maya's relentless drive to overcome Shrinking Violetwall's reluctance to get to first base -- adorable for now, but her patience isn't without limits -- was interrupted by Sera wanting to take a field trip to Verchiel. Verchiel, near Crestwood, the place that Maya just came back from. Verchiel, where Maya forgot to take her armor along and nearly got pounded into the dirt by an Even Grounded brute. Sera was knocked out in the first second of combat. Sera was not in the best of moods after being revived. Which might have contributed to the whole wine-stomping incident with the noble. Josephine had to pay some steep brides to keep it quiet. He was an arse-biscuit, though. Quite.

Anywho, that whole incident lead to some accidental-done-a-purpose flirting with Sera. Maybe a little jealousy would get Blackwall off the dime. Things might have gone a bit too far with Sera, though. Maker forbid that Blackwall gets wind of it ...

Maya picked out this armor for Blackwall. Pretty bad-arse, all clean-shaven like, am I right?

Dwarven warrior playthrough (on nightmare with some trials on)
spoilers for Crestwood, Exalted Plains

What a coincidence! It's possible to complete Still Waters if you want to. You mentioned that you found the locked back door. If you can get that far, you can finish the quest. Just head to the dam and drain the lake. The Keep is optional.

It's also possible to glitch through doors, if Sera has Flask of Lightning. But my guess is that the rest of the Keep is glitched, since the trigger for releasing the new enemies is the same thing that didn't unlock the door.

Sam has been expanding his network, adding three new followers who want to help the Inquisition.

First, an odd elf named Sera. He's not quite sure what to make of her, but figures more arrows will come in handy.

Spoiler

Next was Vivienne, some higher-up in the human Circle of Magi, or maybe in the Orlesian court? Still, she was able to use her influence to help gain the services of an Enchanter Ellendra, so her joining up is already paying off.
Spoiler

After returning to Haven, Leliana mentioned that all the Wardens in both Ferelden and Orlais had disappeared. Coincidence? Possibly. But given the state of the world, more likely not so much. She'd received word of a Warden named Blackwall hanging out in the Hinterlands and wanted Sam to follow up her lead. Turns out he was in the area recruiting and wound up helping some locals fight off a group of bandits. Unfortunately, he didn't know anything about the missing Wardens or even that they were missing. Still, he volunteered to help. Sam learned the hard way to never turn away a good sword arm, so Blackwall was welcomed in as well.
Spoiler

My first bear encounter, on the way to get Blackwall. I don't ever remember seeing a bear in this area (only further down the gully where grandpa sleeps) but there he was, a level 8 monster attacking my poor level 5 party. Boo.
Spoiler

Last thing....a little promotion confusion. Would the end result be that electricity does normal damage? I didn't fight the bandits here....there were too many of them and we're still only level 5. :P

Wow, that is unusual. But I guess bear's get thirsty too. Or she thought Lord Woolsley was a tasty looking morsel and chased him all the way across the lake.

Hah, gotta love that Electricity damned if you do/damned if you don't!

I didn't realise that you can complete the Still Waters quest without going through the fort so I will definitely return to do this. :D

I will also try to capture the keep again because I've just found this Youtube video that may help me:

I remember when it happened to me for the first time! I was so set on saving Lord Woolsley... At least that bear made great sacrifice to show me true nature of this unusual ram.

DAI PT definitely frozen. Got a few games lined up. Currently on -

Rise of the Tomb Raider (PC version). Sequel is continuing the trend of the reboot. Splendid! I like the gritty, dirty, painful and frightening aspect of TR. It shows on Lara. It's more realistic. And Lara's hair. That hair. That wonderful hair that flies in the wind, the flicks of the wavering strands. Her automatic reaction to squeezing it dry when she climbs out of the water. VA and dialogue is top notch. I'm more in love with the world of TR. :P :D

Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain. Held for later.

Blues and Bullets. Did the first ep. Not happy with fixed camera angle and how I'm not given certain options during the first ten minutes. It's a logical response to a development and it should have been allowed. In any case, I chose whatever they put in. Gameplay is very simple, assembling clues a breeze. I'm not complaining since I'm more interested in the story and chars. My choices stayed on being calm and prudent, empathetic. I was totally surprised by the unexpected glimpse of the fate of certain chars and how my choices affected them during credit roll. I felt sorry for one but I feel he deserves it. It's terrible, it's harsh and cruel but perhaps I'm too critical of the fellow.  Considering the circumstances, it might be a merciful act. I'm wondering what's going to happen to the other. I think it's not good either. Waiting for episode two.

Project Aura. City building set in a survivalist future. Game is not complete but the devs are fixing, adding more features via the feedback they're getting, gauging depth of gameplay. It looks interesting. I figure by the time I play it, there'll be a lot more features.

The penny drops with Josephine that Eldrida is Serious about her:

Spoiler

Smiles and kisses...

Spoiler

A romantic time in the garden.

Spoiler

As an aside, of the three female LIs, and considering she's the one who loves poetry and flowers and all things traditionally romantic, poor old Cassandra drew the short straw with the kiss locations; Josie gets the lovely garden above, Sera gets a beautiful rooftop sunset, and Cass gets... A loft?

Ooh, spoilers for Sam re: Josie's romance. He's only tried flirting with her once and she was predictably clueless. She asked him what he thought of Haven and he said, well certain people (hint hint) have made the place enjoyable.

Josie: "Oh? You shall have to tell me who they are."

Sam: ::Sigh::

Not much else to report. Got the watchtowers marked and just waiting for the op to finish. Took out the apostates in Witchwood (2 attempts required) and found the astrarium loot (that I can't use yet <_<). Back in Haven now for another chat round and to make better armor for the newbies.

Bears are evil.

To elaborate: my now-level 6 party decided to take on the group of 7 bandits blocking the road to the merc fortress. There were 2 enforcers (elite), 3 archers (1 elite) and 2 mooks. So, we got bees, we got pitch grenades, we can go into stealth and get in a free shot here and there. We're ready. I've got Varric, Solas, and Blackwall with me. First, I make a scene to get the enforcers to come in close and hit 'em with a pitch grenade to slow 'em down and take more damage. So far, so good. Sam goes into stealth after one of the archers. We whittle away at 'em until there's only 2 of 7 left. So what happens? A bear. We're low on potions so I tell everyone to disengage to let the bear deal with the last of the bandits. It's just a normal bear, level 8 like all the rest have been BUT it must have had uber-berries for breakfast because it took Sam out about 500 times, Varric half as much, and Solas at the end when the battle was finally over. Meanwhile, Blackwall finishes the battle vs bandits + bear with full health and full guard. <_<

Yeah, when I'm crafting gear for Blackwall, if there are any metal utility slots, I go for strength, not constitution. His passives bump his constitution well enough, and his guard takes care of the rest. Guard is a function of health, I believe, so yeah, he needs constitution, but whatever. It seems to work.

Yes the end is star shaped. Yes it has a chance to cast Mind Blast on hit, but do you know the literary source for the name of Eldrida's latest staff?
