I started this project around January 29th or January 30th.

I've finished capturing the entire game - I screen-captured all the way to the finale and credits.

I rough-edited about 60% so far and should be able to finish the rest of the rough editing tomorrow and final editing on February 5th.

I'm...kind of shocked. I feel like I've spent two weeks on stringing together Dragon Age 2, but it looks like it's only taken me about 5-6 days. Then I will have a complete Dragon Age 2 movie!!

Inquisition will probably take longer though  :(  :(  :(  And I really want to include Origins but I don't think I want to do the whole Origins game since it doesn't lend itself as well to cinematics. I just want to include the beautiful Grey Wardens expository intro, a few key lore scenes, introduce super critical people like King Alistair (and all the awesome *regal* scenes in castles and such dealing with politics).... since my mom comes from a Christian background I have to be careful and kind of cut out the more sinister things like topless Desire Demons and outright gruesome blood magic scenes.

Like in Dragon Age 2, I completely cut out 100% of the Orsino blood magic boss fight since that was waayy too effed up to show to my mom. But thankfully, the finale still turned out great without it! It wasn't even that necessary.

Nope. You just have to find Lord Trifles 3 times and answer his questions correctly.

I just looked up that character. I have to remember that the next time I play DAI.

Thomas has been roaming the Hissing Wastes, dealing with the remaining rifts and Venatori threat. He has been spending some Deep Roads spoils on armor and weapon schematics, bought the Overlord Helm schematic from a dog - Solas would have loved it, he's fond of a silly hat, what a pity he has disappeared . Dorian received a gift of the Earnest Reprisal staff, the first time Thomas has actually bought, rather than crafted or found a weapon. (I always thought this weapon was something you could only get on PC with cheat engine, not sure why, duh).

Spoiler

The disappearance of Solas has disturbed Thomas greatly. He's been spending time in Solas's room, looking at his beautiful mural, trying to understand.

Spoiler

Yeah, I'm procrastinating before starting Trespasser.

The place I find Lord Trifles Minutiae most frequently is the gap between the stables and the outer wall, but I've found him in all of the above places except for the glitched one because I've never managed to reach that place myself. I've also found him on the roof over the kitchens. You have to climb past the ruined section of wall to reach it.

What I do with Lord Trifles Minutiae is:

1) Find him.

2) Answer his question.

3) Save and reload.

4) Answer his question... again.

5) Repeat till you're done.

I know, I know. Kinda cheating. But I have no patience to look for him

I've also found him on the roof over the kitchens.

This is where I find him most of the time.

Slew the dragon in the Hinterlands!

Wait, why did I kill this dragon? Um... just going to go with "secure the area" general rationale. Iron Bull seems excited.

There are a couple of "story movies" for DAO on Youtube. This might save you the trouble. Don't worry about the japanese subs, the dialogue is in english.

Maya was too busy doing chores at Skyhold -- tending the garden, crafting new gear, talking to everyone, playing pranks, building an infirmary, making out with Blackwall (ahem!) -- to do much Inquisiting. She kept Cullen, Josie and Leliana busy at the war table, but otherwise took a break from adventuring herself.

Speaking of pranks, I got one of those rare Cullen glitches. I guess he didn't mind having his desk made all wonky, he was standing right there while Sera did it!

When you close rifts in the Basin, veil quartz is part of the loot left behind. If you don't take everything, then when you leave the area and come back, the other stuff regenerates. If you are talking about the 3 nodes of veil quartz that are available, you can only interact with those if you have veilfire with you. Those don't regenerate, however. One is in the swamp, around to the right from the torch next to the prison; one is in a giant tree stump in the middle of the map, that you have to jump down to from the path above it; and one is above the lair of the fade-touched lurker....getting to it involves a lot of jumping (and reloading, in my case).

Nope. You just have to find Lord Trifles 3 times and answer his questions correctly.

Thanks, I didn't have veilfire at the time.  Next time I'll look for one of the oddly placed torches.  I think the one I found was in the middle of the map, and it was probably falling down...

As for Lord Trifles, I've found him most by the stables.  I usually find him when I'm doing Scattered in Skyhold, but I'll have to try the roof by the kitchens if he doesn't turn up any of the other places I've seen him.

Is that boon of the spoon weapon from a dlc?

Boon of the spoon - no it is vanilla content.  I've found that a-hole next to the barn Blackwall lives in, in my safe after I've taken enough Josie perks, on top of the mage/templar tower, in the bar in the corner just chilling near where Sutherland is.. I've only ever gotten the boon of the spoon once though.  Most of the time when I go looking for that jerk I cannot find him.  I realize I'm all late about this conversation though.

Anyhoo, carry on.

I noticed that for some reason I don't have the Battlemaster Mail Arms schematic, so I've been farming Valeska's Watch. So tedious...

Isabela: Do you anymore special spells? I did like that ice slide spell

me:  I do. A few spells I have won't require you or anyone else to do anything.

Isabela: You're taking the fun out of things.

me: Don't be such a whiner. In fact here comes a bunch of baddies. Watch this.

I cast my spell. The baddies start screaming before they realize they're going to die.

Isabela: hahahahaha. Ok. What do you call that?

me: I call it ice bowling. I create a giant ball of ice and send it towards the bad guys.

Isabela: But I like using my daggers. Not standing around doing nothing. When are you going to have a fire spell?

me: I'm still working on a few fire spells. They're a little harder than cold spells. We need to get going. I  have to deliver this amulet to the dalish

I turn around and again both Varric and Carver stand with their mouths wide open. I can guess at what they're thinking.

Varric: Did you know your sister can cast spells like that?

Carver: Oh yes. Though that's a new one. She's always working on new spells.

Varric: When we get back to the Hanged Man, I want to know more. Drinks on me

Carver: Sounds good

So this is the dalish camp? Not sure if they're stunned by how hot looking I am or that a human has entered their camp. The keeper tells me she will send her first to do the ritual. Her first? That could be anything. First child. First apple pie. The list is endless.

This is the first. An elf named Merrill. She's very nervous. Hmmm. Something doesn't feel right. Look at that. The undead want to play. Ok. I cast weapons fire to Isabela, Varric and Carver. Burn baby burn. hahahaha. I love the smell of fresh roasted undead in the morning. Ahh.

What's this? She used blood magic to open that barrier? Silly little elf. I don't care for that crap. Lets get this over with.

After fighting all the undead, the amulet is placed on the altar. I'll be damned. Its Flemeth. I do sense the power she has. In fact she is very powerful. I guess I didn't sense it the first time because I was filled with anger after seeing my sister killed. She says a few things and leaves.

Back at the alienage, Merrill is at a lost about how many people their are. She can handle it.  Ok. Whats next?

Varric reminds me that we need to go to the Blooming Rose to inquire about Keran and Wilnood. Swell. Lets go.

Isabela and I exchange looks. Everything just went quiet. This is new. Every single person has their mouth open in a stunned look. Again. Its because I'm a hot looking woman. I bet I could make more coin in one day then all them make in one year put together. Do you see what I see? Is that my Uncle Gamlen?. That explains where my grandfathers fortune went to. Pathetic. After everyone puts their tongues back in their mouths, I learn a female named Idunna was last seen with those templars.

This is Idunna. Not bad. What?

me: That's not going to work on me you little piece of crap

Idunna: Oh crap. Who are you?

me: Don't worry about that at the moment. Tell me where to find Keran and Wilmood

Idunna: I...I...I.. They can be found at a sanctuary in darktown.

me: You know I hate blood magic. You have to die.

In the sanctuary, we fight more demons. This time I include Varric and Carver on the ice slide spell. I'm spoiling everyone using that spell. Still, I like that spell. Here comes some sorry looking blood mages. I use an ice spell that freezes them. Carver uses his big hammer to smash them to pieces. Keran is ok

We head back to the Hanged Man for a couple of drinks.

I finished my 7 years old Cousland warrior (ofc, i prefer mages...). Poor Aedan, waited patiently for this moment.

And: I got Loghain for sacrificed in Fade instead Hawke or Stroud. This situation will be much more satisfying ;)

So I am bound for the Winter Palace tonight. The is a plot to kill the Empress. Cullen seems certain that altering the city guards will not stop the event. It amazes me that "the great game" can make people drop a hundred IQ points for appearances sake. "I must not look afraid as the blade digs into my spine." I really do hate politics. Josephine worked her magic and got us an invitation by a slug of a man who is currently wagging a war to try and take over the country via military coup. I can't help but feel I am walking into a vipers nest. Bringing Sera along. If things become too mind numbing I might be able to get her to run naked across the dance floor... I better not say that out loud. She might actually do it.

Later...

I really hate politicians...How Josie can stand dealing with these people everyday is beyond me. I just want to throw fireballs in their faces. *sigh* Why did I leave the Circle?... Oh... right... *groan*

Yesterday I did IYHSB. It wasn't toooo bad since I'd crafted some OP weapons before going to Therinfal. I had to re-do a few of the rescues since I took too long a couple of times and people died. I also had to do the fight at the trebuchet twice. Those bleeping promoted Spellbinders with their bleeping OP fire arrays kept doing me in.

Sam still has more of Skyhold to explore, and he's got a meeting with some acquaintance of Varric's. He tried to convince Josephine to tour the grounds with him but she thought he just wanted a steward to show him around. Le sigh.

Maya, Carta Arcanist, could procrastinate no longer. The nagging from Varric and Leliana had reached fever pitch. "When are you going to the Western Approach to meet Hawke?!?" Nag, nag!

The thing is, despite the Alpha Quillback fiasco, she quite liked the Western Approach. The Still Ruins were particularly attractive to someone with deft hands, and she never tired of plundering that location over and over and over, and over, and over again. Except for the staff with all the blood magic on it. Dorian was right, best to leave that loot alone.

No, the problem wasn't the where, it was the who. Things were going well with Blackwall and she didn't want to fennec that up with whatever lay behind the mystery of the disappearing Wardens.

She briefly considered leaving Blackwall to hold down the fort while Cass took his place, but she knew Blackwall wouldn't stand for it. Not when Wardens were involved. He got so choked up every time she found one of the odds and ends they'd left behind. No way he'd miss out at seeing them in the flesh.

So, off to the Western Approach she went and met up with Hawke and Allistair. What she found at the ruins was terrible. Wardens bamboozled, hoodwinked, bilked, hornswoggled and fleeced to their very souls. By a Tevinter geek named Erimond. Without a doubt, fighting ensued. When it was over, Allistair suddenly remembered that he'd left the stove on at Adamant Fortress and needed to get back right quick. Hawke offered to join him

Hawke. Kind of standoffish, that one. Never around when you needed her. Some help the Champion of Kirkwall was, lying flat on her back for most of the battle with the ensorcelled Wardens. Even Dorian was miffed. He spent most of the post-battle debriefing giving Hawke the ol' Tevinter stink eye.

28rd0xx.png

If it ever came down to some kind of decision about whether to keep Hawke around or get rid of her, Maya knew exactly what she would do. Exactly. Varric could lump it.

(For the morbidly curious, gorey details of Walk Softly vs. evil Warden mages in the Spoiler tag):

Uhhh....you aren't making me want to keep playing with horror stories like that! I'm gonna have to start bringing 2 mages instead of 2 warriors everywhere, it sounds like.

By contrast, Sam had a very easy day today. More exploring Skyhold and talking with folks. A couple of judgments....he sent Movran to Tevinter and (since I don't have the history perk yet) gave ex-Knight-Captain Denam over to the Templars for them to judge. A death sentence seems more than likely. He then traveled back to the Fallow Mire, Redcliffe, and the farms to open all the perk-required locks and finally recruit Dennet for the Inquisition.

Back at Skyhold, Sam caught Cullen and Leliana at a game of chess. (I purposely avoided talking to Dorian to make sure I got this scene, but I think I like Cullen/Dorian better. And yay, now I can talk to Dorian!)

Still hopeless on the romance front BUT I have triggered Josie's personal quest so something should start happening soon. Sam's next big decision is going to be what specialization to take. I was thinking assassin but I can get Hidden Blades from crafting so that's not necessary. Now I'm thinking of trying out artificer if I can get the stuff I need but that means going to Western Approach sooner rather than later, unless I can buy the quills instead. Hmmm....will have to think on it some more.

I actually wanted to record everything from the Rift fight till Florianne’s exposing in one go, but my mom had to bother me halfway through it, so have it in two parts.

I found out Lightworks is crap so I downloaded Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Lightworks corrupts audio unless you split the video from the audio first before importing. Too much work!

Also Adobe Premiere Pro is just $20 a month if my free trial expires, which is not too bad.

I'm kind of excited because I've never learned video editing before. I feel like my passion to convey these games to someone else is spurring me to learn something new.

today I learned the differences between mono, stero, and 5.1 sound in audio tracks. I played the beginning of Inquisition without music and then I chose another track from Inquisition I liked better and spliced it with the beginning at a certain point and made a new beginning to Inquisition. And I'm going to be watching beginner Adobe Premier tutorials.

You can get Hidden Blades from crafting, but you can't get Mark of Death that way. After getting over 150K in an upgraded MoD, I'm not going to pass that one up any time soon.

I'm not telling you how you should play! Maker knows, I've run my share of fun builds that aren't even a little bit practical, let alone something that's workable under a customized playing style. But it is something to think about.

In my first DAO run, I regretted not triggering Morrigan's romance as soon as possible because that meant missing out on the relationship's evolution from physical to emotional.

And now that I'm replaying the character to fix all mistakes, I did what I had thought was right only to regret it again. Getting the sex scene only after becoming close to Morrigan and doing the grimoire quest seems like the better pace.

Also, that "you can probe me anytime" line you have to say in order to trigger the romance early on is horrible. *shudders*

Yeah, I know. :) I'm trying to balance practical for a DW rogue with what I have/haven't done before with a focus power I might actually use with what loot can I get asap? I've played both assassin and tempest already, so that leaves artificer as the one to try. However, the focus ability for artificer is stupid for a DWer. I never use the assassin focus ability, so that seems a waste, and TC only works about 1/3 of the time I try to use it. Items for assassin and tempest are easier to get and won't require me to go to a zone out of the normal order I want to do things. Needless to say, I have no idea which way to go.
