My jerk Inquisitor, Alessandra II, finished Trespasser. However, this run is karma. To summarize the first half, aside from grudgingly meeting both Arl Teagan and Duke Cyril, Aless didn't bother catching up with the rest of the inner circle. Not that anyone wanted to talk to her anyway. Then during the Exalted Council, she walked out without a word to deal with the Qunari threat.

 

The second half got interesting...

With the battle escalating, Aless, Rainier, Dorian and frenemy Vivienne dealt with the Qunari in the Davaraad. They also slayed both Atashi and Qun loyal Iron Bull.

 

 

The Vidissala revealed the truth to the tyrant Inquisitor that Solas aka. Fen'Harel was behind the whole scheme and manipulated the Inquisition to a tee. Vivienne laughed. "How utterly surprising," she remarked while throwing a glance at Aless, who was fuming.

 

 

 

 

After an intense chase and battle against the remaining Qunari, Aless confronted Solas.

 

"I suspect you have Questions," Solas greeted calmly.

 

"Solas, have I ever wanted to hear any of your windblown explanations? EVER??" Alessandra sneered.

 

Turning away, Solas pitched his plans to end the world in less than thirty seconds and added that the anchor was getting worse.

 

 

 

As if on cue, the anchor goes into its final stage of killing the lady Inquisitor.

 

 

Solas gazed at the fallen tyrant, letting her suffer a little longer before viciously yanking her hand and removing what was left of the mark. "Your death will be unnecessary. Live well while time remains," he finished leaving Alessandra on her knees.

 

 

 

As if things didn't get any worse. Returning to the Exalted Council, Aless had no choice but to disband the Inquisition. She won't let the Chantry tell her what to do. After all she's been through, she still acts like a b!tch to everyone...

 

 

Lastly, some of the epilogue slides were different. For example, Iron Bull's fate was no surprise, but Cullen succumbed to his lyrium madness. That happens when he's still taking lyrium during the main game.

 

 

 

And that's a wrap! It was interesting to play a jerk Inquisitor for a change, because aside from the decisions made in the main story, how one treats others has its consequences too. For example, in the Davaraad, when the anchor goes out of control, no one in Aless' party said anything. Another was after Iron Bull was killed, Dorian made a sarcastic comment, but the Inquisitor didn't get any dialogue option. Food for thought.

 

 

I forgot to mention a before and after. In the main story, Alessandra II had different hair and skin tone. But for Trespasser, I wanted to show she's older and cut her hair. Let's just say she aged like bad cheese...

I have a new Inquisitor,well Herald as she is at the moment, Aderyn Trevelyan (Aderyn means bird in Welsh). She's a mage, hopefully Rift spec, nightmare difficulty with some trials. I've completed a nightmare playthrough before, pre nug, and it's so much easier now. I have 5 playthroughs worth of stuff, but I'm trying to keep most tier 3 gear until level 16+.

 

I'm enjoying playing a mage again, such a breath of fresh air after playing a warrior for the past few months, although I enjoyed it in the end, I had to respec so many times. Aderyn is having fun with upgraded Fire Mine + Winter's Grasp - stay there while I blow you up, thanks  .

 

She's level 7 right now, after recruiting companions, hiring agents and flirting with a certain bearded warden...

I know we've only just met...but  . This was her original hair, but she's since had a restyle as the male hairline/sideburns started to irk me. 

 

 

 

 

This is a bit more saucy if you're English (pants = delicate underthings  ), but Varric still speaks the truth.

 

I think she's recruited as many agents as she can at this point and has Deft Hands already (forget Belle though, again, sorry Belle), although if I'd been more sensible I should have picked up extra potions instead at this stage. She's not doing too badly though and has only been spanked by high level rifts so far.

 

Today she went to Redcliffe to meet with Fiona, taking Vivienne for support, even if she does find her a little intimidating at the moment.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to do. Super-annoying since I've been able to get to it before.  On the plus side, at least my Red Hart is working again. A few PTs ago it kept causing the game to crash and I had to pick a different mount.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to do. Super-annoying since I've been able to get to it before.  On the plus side, at least my Red Hart is working again. A few PTs ago it kept causing the game to crash and I had to pick a different mount.

Most mounts crash my game now. I had to go through a bunch before I found a horse that didn't crash. Not sure if it is a mod or the Spoils of Qunari DLC, since I loaded both up at the same time. Everything was fine before I loaded that DLC up. I did a run with all mods disabled and the DLC mount still crashed the Hinterlands. It's ugly anyway, so no great loss.

And all this time I've been avoiding Cass's personal quest in my current run. Nice work. I've been trying to get into the OOB from Caer Oswin forever. So many tantalizing vistas! How did you do it?

Prior to this, I had been using the dismount-through-invisible walls trick to get OOB. Of course, there's a number of areas (like this) where you can't bring a mount... which makes it a whole lot tougher.

 

But recently I found a (PC) trainer that allows you to jump huge distances which will easily get you over the invisible walls. So with that enabled, you can get OOB anywhere.

Before meeting up with Hawke and Stroud, Freya went to Val Royeaux to follow Leliana's lead about Calpernia. Freya found a body and a shattered crystal.

Then she and her companions continued their way to the Western Approach. Freya is currently missing only one Alpha Quillback Spine to learn the Way of the Artificer. She will get back to that soon. For now, it was time to meet Hawke and Warden Stroud again at an ancient Ritual Tower.

At the tower, Grey Wardens had been tricked into binding themselves to demons by a goon of Corypheus, Livius Erimond. He got away, and Freya and her companions had to fight the left behind twisted Wardens. Such a shame.

Oh yeah, that one time when I had switched to Nightmare earlier to try out fighting against some minor enemies to see how I manage... then forgetting to turn it back to Casual Bull lasted almost throughout the fight. I was already wondering why the hell they were dropping like flies on Casual.

 

Back at Skyhold, Freya talked about her findings with Leliana, and they went to see Dagna to help with the Crystal.

Freya flirted with Solas, who had not been very talkative lately (I think it's the lowest approval I had with him so far ), but now he was very worked up about the Wardens. Later on she went back to the tavern as usual when she wanted to relax from a busy day, but Iron Bull was nowhere to be seen. She wondered where he was. Maybe he was shagging one of the girls here he frequently talked about. She talked a bit to Krem though and learned more about him and his past.

Since there would be no drinking tonight, Freya returned to her quarters to work a bit. She was surprised to see Iron Bull sitting on her bed when she entered, claiming he had caught her hints. Freya hadn't expected him to actually show any interest, as he never said anything or flirted back, but here he was. He tried to warn her that she didn't know what she was getting into, but Freya cheekily said she would definitely be ready for it. Iron Bull towered over her and offered her one last chance to back out. Freya didn't.

The next day, Freya felt she needed to talk to Bull about what had happened and asked him in her quarters. She was a bit embarrassed confessing that she had enjoyed what Bull had done with her. And she asked him to do it again...

B-but... Inquisitor!

 

 

Next Freya will clear the Western Approach as much as possible before heading to Adamant Fortress. I think it's the first time I've done that quest before Wicked Eyes.

Sam is all done in Western Approach.  

 

After returning to Skyhold, he decided to let Dorian know about a letter his father had sent, then took him to meet a "retainer" in Redcliffe. The retainer turned about to be dear old dad and the meeting didn't exactly go well. Still, Sam was glad he was honest with Dorian rather than tricking him into going as Mother Giselle had suggested. With that taken care of, it was time to head to the Exalted Plains. No way he can march an army to Adamant Fortress with the Dales such a mess. Besides, sorting things out there might inspire someone to invite him to the peace talks in Halamshiral. Josie, for all her charm, hasn't been successful yet.

 

Note: I have enough power to do either/both, but I'm pretending I don't. Really woulda been nice for clearing the ramparts to actually mean something ie save Gaspard's soldiers first, he invites you; save Celene's instead and the invite comes from her. Oh well.

The Inquisitor alongside Varric, Cassandra and Blackwall are still in the Deep Roads where they encountered a darkspawn nest. The first attempt began smoothly as Edric used the 'mark of rift' on the first group of shrieks. The Hurlock and Genlock Alphas were easy enough to defeat as well. So far so good... however, the ogres were more of a challenge because of the respawning genlocks and emissary. Therefore, Edric used his initiative and lured the emissary away from the ogres. Once this emissary was lured near the entrance, Edric rushed back to the ogres. This technique worked and the two ogres were defeated. The Alpha Emissary was next and his HP/barrier strength was unbelievable! The whole team were focused on attacking and hardly made a debt in it's health. The Inquisitor and Edric have custom made armour where guard is generated on hit so they normally can handle enemy attacks. But not this time, the emissary wiped out the whole party .

 

The reload was right at the beginning of the darkspawn nest

The second attempt at this darkspawn battle was a case of deja vu. Edric and co were defeated at the exact same point.

 

Edric returned to the surface and returned to the Hinterlands alongside Cassandra, Vivienne and Varric. They returned to this area to stop a rampaging dragon which may cause problems for Redcliffe if left unchecked. Edric is lv 17 so the High Dragon was lv 17 as well. The battle went without a hitch and the dragon was defeated. I got the 'trial of the empress' achievement  and I will keep the trial on to keep it challenging.

 

Returned to the Hissing Wastes to see if Edric can keep up his High Dragon killing ways. He tried to kill the sleeping dragon twice but failed . So the lesson today is: 'let sleeping dragons lie'.

 

Edric returned to the Deep Roads for a third attempt at the darkspawn nest...

That was the loot that took me forever to jump up to. Totally not worth it but better than the 2 onyx you get from the oob loot bag in Redcliffe.
