Going for Trial of Temperance and Trial of the Tower on my human mage. Cassasndra is really good at using the WrathPurge combo. I've seen her wipepout clumps of Red Templars by herself using it. It helps that she's using a Chromatic Greatsword with Explode on Kill, but the A.I. playinh her this competently is thankful.

That was the loot that took me forever to jump up to. Totally not worth it but better than the 2 onyx you get from the oob loot bag in Redcliffe.

Oh wow, didn't recognize it from that angle, and with no mount visible. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you set both Wrath and Purge preferred? I only set Wrath preferred, but that doesn't seem to work so good.

Sam spent most of the day in the Exalted Plains.

He did all the favors for the Dalish except bear hides and is a point or two short of earning their trust since he never ran into the hunter. Went back to where he's normally located but the place was empty, so he either got eaten by undead or moved on.

All the ramparts south of the river were cleared of undead and the bodies burned.

He took out one of the Freemen leaders, some wacko mage named Gordion who was apparently working for Corypheus. What exactly does Cory offer people to make them want to be his lackeys? He's a &*%^#$ darkspawn! Sam just doesn't get it, and is kinda glad about that.

He also explored the Dead Hand elfy ruin. Everyone stayed put just like they were supposed to, for a change. The only screw up was operator error .

On companion issues:

He helped Solas find his spirit friend. Stupid mages are stupid, but he convinced Solas to spare them. Solas eventually came back to Skyhold.

He helped Cass find out what happened to the Seekers. Oh look, another wacko, this time the real Lord Seeker Lucius. Sam wasn't sure which version was crazier: the real one or the Envy imposter. In any case, both are dead now and Cass has a lot of thinking to do.

He met up with Bull and some of the Chargers for drinks. Listened to their stories and to them singing a silly merc song. :P Apparently the qunari have taken notice and have proposed an alliance with the Inquistion. is pretty much Sam's reaction, but he'll see what they have to say, at least.

Next up: I'll probably do Bull's mission and then clear the Citadelle before heading to the ball. Ugh, 3 not-fun things in a row is a bad plan. Oohooh....I just remembered, I have the 1 halla per door mod installed so maybe the ball will be a bit more fun this time around. :D

Emma Trevelyan is cleaning up maps and dragons. I'm just making sure I've done everything in all the areas before proceeding with the Arbor wilds. I'll save Frostback Basin for when I'm finished with Corypheus though. And then I'll do Descent and Trespasser and I'll have a 100% completed game :D

Fran Hawke

- completed some personal quests

- killed a lot of thugs

- hired an elf to clean my house

- met a prince, but for now I will call him Sebastian.

When I did the Legacy dlc, I got Hawke key. It was the first time I got the bow. Very nice. Still using it

Since I bought the all-class item packs, I rarely use any other armor or weapons now. I love the ones that level up with you. DAI could have used some stuff like that, or even just random loot drops that match your level.

I too have the item packs. That bow, Hawke's key, at the time, had better stats then the bow I was currently using

I do like the weapons leveling up as the character levels up. The armor looks nice. Those packs save a lot of coin for me to purchase other stuff.

Since DAI doesn't have that, maybe it will return for the next DA game.

Killed dragon on Exalted Plains and painted my armour and helm gold. Take that, poor people!
Activating challenge that makes every enemy at least on your lever was a good decision.

Sorry for the flood of pictures...

Today, Freya and her companions headed to Adamant Fortress to deal with the situation there. Cullen and the Inquisition forces did their best in the fight, and Freya soon reached Livius Erimond, as well as Warden-Commander Clarel, who were in the middle of a ritual. With horror she saw the sacrifice for it was that girl from Crestwood. The girl she had encouraged to join the Wardens...

Erimond wanted to bind Clarel to a powerful demon, and Freya tried to reach out to the Wardens as a last resort. She tried to help them, and some indeed saw reason, didn't like what was going on here.

Spoiler

Even the Warden-Commander grew suspicious and when Erimond summoned the huge dragon that Freya already saw in Haven - a dragon that looked like an Archdemon - Clarel ordered her fellow Wardens to help the Inquisition and pursued Erimond. Freya and her companions caught up with her soon enough. She failed to kill Erimond, but sacrificed herself in an attempt to take down the dragon with her. The spell's force collapsed the path underneath the companions, and they fell...

Spoiler

Freya and her companions, as well as Hawke and Stroud had landed in the fade. Physically. Cole was terrified, Iron Bull was not exactly happy to be here, Solas was fascinated. But even he didn't know how to get out of this nightmare. All they could do was move on. Not soon in, they met Justinia... or...something that only looked like her? Whatever she was, she helped. Freya regained some of her memories from what had happened at the Conclave.

Spoiler

They followed Justinia, trying to ignore the taunting voice of the demon, of the nightmare, that was around here somewhere. With the last pieces of her memory, Freya learned that it was the Divine that had saved her. Sacrificed herself so Freya could live. The companions continued their way and Freya learned more of Bull's fears. And then... they faced the nightmare. The fight was over soon, but not without leaving Stroud behind. Freya felt terrible for having to do so.

Spoiler

They successfully returned from the fade and found themselves back at Adamant Fortress, and Freya asked the Wardens to join the Inquisition.

Spoiler

Back at Skyhold Leliana and Freya talked a bit about Justinia, then she stumbled over Varric in the hall and checked on him. He was glad that Hawke made it out in one piece.

Spoiler

For today, a few judgements were scheduled. Life can be hard as the Inquisitor... But she had still time to go see Bull. She already saw Cassandra hitting him from far away, handing Freya the stick for her to continue. Bull said he needed to deal with his fear of demons this way. Freya hit him and cheekily teased him a bit.

Spoiler

Duty almost called, but not before she asked Bull for a little bit more of his time, telling him to meet her behind the tavern in a quiet corner. When he arrived, Bull gave her a playful slap on the tushy before Freya stole a long overdue kiss from her lover.

It works! I was able to open all the halla doors. :D That was the highlight for me. The highlight for Sam was dancing with Josephine. Also, hearing Yvette's wild ideas about what the two of them might be planning.

For Maya's visit to the Winter Palance, I got some great screenies and even better absolute dumb luck crazy good couldn't-repeat-in-a-thousand-years combat videos. I want to edit two of the combat videos together, so that will take some time. I also have to sort through all the screenies, so I'll post those later. For now, here are just a few shots while I was messing around with Flycam.

Janet Trevelyan is now at Skyhold and I got some nice face time with Cory and his dragon.

Spoiler

I also snapped one very simple screen for a desktop.  I would have preferred it if I hadn't missed the bird that flew past a minute before, but oh, well.

Spoiler

Janet will be romancing Iron Bull and there's a chance finances may support getting dlc next month.  I read the Trespasser spoilers and wonder whether I should get that first or Descent.  Any input?

I read there's no level recommendation for Descent, other than to be at Skyhold.  That's not too helpful, since the same can be said for JoH, and I never start that until after I do the Hissing Wastes.  Is there a point, story-wise, where it makes more sense to do it, such as after Red Templars on the Coast and/or is there a big increase in difficulty like for JoH (I'm a terrible player)?

This is OT but trust Bioware to remove the OT forum which is a dumb move. But anyways, I'm not sure how far I am to completion for ROTR but I'm guessing, maybe halfway? One thing for sure. I like the old TR but I'm in love    :D  with the new Lara Croft   They crafted her sensibly (anatomy, etc) and one can see the fledging girl growing into what she would become in the story. I can watch her hair flow like silk for the longest time. :P  Bioware, seriously, you need to do something with those plastic and lazy stuff you keep handing out.

Spoiler

I'm for Dragon Dogma Dark Rising next after ROTR. I heard it's akin to Skyrim, story is good and there're romance options too. :P  Companions / pawns are created by player and can be exchanged.

The difficulty increases the deeper into Descent you go. Technically, Descent scales to your level, but I wouldn't want to do the second half below XP level 17 or so. I wouldn't do the second half until after JoH, or at least until the part of it where you get the Aegis of the Rift ability. BTW, minimum recommended level for JoH is 20.

Story-wise is anyone's guess. Nothing you do in Descent influences anything up top, AFAIK.

For esthetics, you could start Descent after Varric and Bianca take you into Valammar. After doing that quest, try Descent and open the first camp. There are only two battles between the start of Descent and the first camp, and they are pretty representative of what you'll face later, only bigger mobs and badder bosses. You can try it on for size and see how difficult it seems. If opening up the first camp is an ordeal, you can leave and come back later.

Descent can be done whenever in the story, I personally haven't played it below Level 20.
