They do have quite tight trousers, if that's what you mean? Can't say it really bothered me.

I ran a male elf DW. Since the hunter/prowler armors either have "skirts" or a long coat, I never noticed anything.

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. The effect isn't the same with the mage or warrior armors - they look fine, even if they don't have "skirts." Hmmm...maybe not noticing is a guy thing? I'll try to remember to take some modeling shots next time I'm at Skyhold and post them for commentary. Though for some of the armors, I'm tempted to post them in the bad screenshot thread instead of here.

Just curious....Sam is my first male rogue (the other 2 were both female). Anyone else who's played a male rogue religiously avoid some of the armor types due to being....eh....a little too revealing in certain places? It really limits my options. I ended up making him some Griffon Armor, which actually doesn't look too bad (it's way better than the mage version). I just wish it had slots for arm/leg upgrades.

It's funny, I can't remember which armor it was but I remember equipping it on my male rogue and a small section of his stomach was missing. It made me laugh because his body wasn't properly connected, I don't know if it's this way with every class but seeing that made me instantly change his armor. Some of the pants are...tight on the male rogues, I remember giving my guy the griffin armor for a while too lol.

As has become customary since the Golden Nug, Conwenna I spent way too long flitting between Haven and The Black Emporium, farming loot and crafting materials and buying what she I couldn't farm, in order to make top-drawer armour and weapons. (I still don't understand why there's no tinting table in Haven...)

That done, Conwenna went to the Hinterlands and met Harding and Mother Giselle:

Spoiler

After setting up a couple of camps and closing a couple of rifts, she headed to Val Royeaux, where she bumped into several important people, who ranged from hostile though dismissive to cautious. Not the most suffessful of trips...

Spoiler

...but she did meet a very interesting Elf. She doesn't know much about her other than she has "friends" among the little people who give her information. She is however "not knifey shiv-dark all hidden." In any case, Sera seems a refreshing change from all the self-important powerbrokers that Conwenna's been forced to put up with. I'm not sure she quite realises that she just met her future wife...

Spoiler

...but of course she then had to deal with another grandstanding powerbroker and player of the ridiculous Orlesian "game". Still, any mage who can gain that level of political power is probably worth having on your side, and all help is welcome right now...

Maggie - mage

I'm about to do my harrowing. Bring it on. I'm not afraid. hahahaha. Yes. This is my evil laugh. hahaha. You like it Gregoir? How about you First Enchanter? Lets get this over with. hahaha. This is the fade? Ha. Its more like a place where people go to vacation. hahaha. Where are the demons for me to fight. Who's this rodent? A guy posing as a mouse. How clever. I'm a mage posing as a mage. Get it? hahahaha. Take me to the demon. That's  a demon. Ok. An application of walking bomb will do the trick. hahaha. The demon went boom. hahaha. Wait a minute. The rodent is the real demon. That's right. Leave you wimp. You can't defeat me. hahaha

Why is Jowan waking me up? Never liked that guy. Get away from me. Lets go see the First Enchanter. I overhear others say that I was the quickest to complete a harrowing. Of course. I'm the best mage in the circle. hahaha. Plus having an evil laugh helps. hahahaha

The first gives me my new robes and wants me escort Duncan, a Grey Warden, back to his quarters. Escort? Mmmm. hahahaha. There you go Mr. Warden. Woah. Jowan? Are you spying on me? He wants to talk. Why would I want to talk with you? Fine. He's found a woman. Big deal. Is there a reason I should careJowan? He wants to leave with the girl named Lily. Lily? Aren't lilies a flower? hahahaha. Get it? hahahaha.

Hello Mr Templar Cullen. Would you like to go somewhere more private? What? How rude. He runs off like that. Maybe next time. hahahaha

Oh Mr Enchanter sir? The Jowan guy wants me to help him and his Lily leave the circle. Ok. I will help. hahahaha. So I need to get a fire rod. Why? I have hands of fire. hahahaha. Ok. Lay off the laugh for a few moments

Lets go in the basement and find Jowan's phlacterory. What's this? Fighting knights that were standing still a moment ago. Ok. I let the Lily and Jowan fight them while I stand back a smoke a cigeratte. hahahaha. Sorry. I couldn't help myself. I like hearing my evil laugh. hahaha. There's the vial. Jowan breaks it. Lets go

Hey Gregoir and First. Here's the criminal. Take him away. What? How dare you use blood magic. The idiot runs away. The Lily girl is still here. Take her to the gallows for wanting to be with an idiot.

Its Duncan Warden. I will go with him to use my magic on the darkspawn. hahaha. Wait till the world sees my true power. hahahaha

This is Ostagar. Here's King Cailan. The way he acts its more like King Dingaling. I'll walk around camp and get something to eat.

Sometimes I'm not sure what dialogue options I should choose because I don't know what they mean.

What exactly is the elven Warden trying to say with "I am elven, but more than that --- I am a person" when responding to Leliana's unintentional racism?

Freya and her companions pretty much cleaned up the Exalted Plains. They helped the people at the Citadelle du Corbeau and Freya finally met the Dalish clan. In doing them a few favours she could convince their Keeper to allow a young elf of their clan to join the Inquisition. After a good night's rest in a recent established camp in Ghilan'nain's Grove the group went on to fight a few wyvern and to explore the Dead Hand.

Spoiler

Freya and her companions returned to Skyhold to prepare for Halamshiral. She enjoyed a bit of free time with Bull, but she was also troubled by what happened with Cullen. Not taking lyrium anymore had some serious effects on him and he wanted Cassandra to look for a replacement for him. Freya went to talk to him, reassuring him he doesn't need the lyrium, and that he can do this.

Spoiler

In the mean time Varric also had finished the next chapter of Cassandra's favourite series, and she was over the moon. Freya was happy to see her that way, even more so since it contributed considerably to her own amusement to see Cassandra so excited.

Spoiler

Next up was Vivienne, as Freya had collected all the books she wanted. She also planned the next step in the Du Paraquette undertaking with Josephine. After everything was done Freya spent a nice evening in the Herald's Rest and drank with Bull. It wasn't long until she was so tired she fell asleep right at the bar. She couldn't even remember how she got back into her quarters when she woke up there the next morning.

After freshening up a bit she went to see Cullen again. He was better already and Freya was glad. He's a good man and she really likes him. He asked her how she is holding up in all this. Usually Freya is cheery and optimistic, but she had to admit she worried that she would fail. It was a big task and so much is dependant on her and the Inquisition. She won't give up though, and the next part is already in motion. The Winter Palace... Freya looked forward to seeing it. And she had just the best party combination in mind to guarantee a fun event.

Spoiler

Oooh, Freya and Cole got some armor crafted today :) First time I actually crafted something in this run, usually the things I found were much better than the schematics I had collected so far. I've read that the best Rogue schematic is in the Hissing Wastes, but I have to look more into it at some point. Might do that tomorrow.

I feel better now. My belly is full. Lets see about this ritual thing. Who's this guy? Ser Jory from Redcliffe. He notices I'm a woman and didn't think I would be a Grey Warden. Ok. Yeah. What a dirtbag. Here's another guy, Daveth. He notices I'm a woman. Wow. He states the obvious. Now I understand why that woman walked away from him. I will do the same. Too bad. Nice looking guy. And this must be Alistair. Again with the woman thing. Before I go any further, I need to take a look at myself. Mmmm. Yeah. I'm a woman. Hold up. I know what it is. Their afriad of my beauty and they would find it hard to believe that someone as gorgeous as myself would want to be a Warden. I can accept that. For now

We need to go into the wilds to get 3 vials of darkspawn blood. Yuck. Also find papers in some ruins. Got it. I lead. As it should be. hahahaha. Its good to hear my evil laugh. hahahaha

Here comes some wolves. You guys are doing it all wrong. Watch this. I freeze the wolve. Daveth. You fire your arrow at it killing the beast. See how easy that was. You guys are wasting too much energy. You know. Maybe you guys need to go back to camp while I do this myself. That got their attention. Of all the characters I end up with. Wimp. Wimpy and wimpiest.

At last. Darkspawn. Eat my walking bomb spell. hahahaha. Explosions every where. Instead of calling them darkspawn, I will call them litespawn. hahahaha. We deal with a lot more. I'm killing 3 to their one. I wonder if I can switch them out for 3 women. I bet the 4 of us would stop the darkspawn by the end of the day. hahahaha. Lets go. Enough laughing. hahahaha

Well, well. Who's this? A witch of the wild? I'm the witch of the circle. hahahahaha. Apparently her mother took the papers. Lets go see your mother. I feel the power in her. This is a woman not to be messed with. I won't. I like her though. So has an evil laugh as well. Cool. She hands the papers over. Lets get back to camp.

WHAT? We're to drink that blood. Gross. Yuck. Lets get this over. Oh no. Daveth died. What th.....Duncan Warden killed Jory. My turn. Yuck. Cough, cough. This isn't funny. My head hurts. I will rest for a moment before joining Duncan Warden

I'm still shocked Duncan Warden killed Jory. I need to put that behind me now. I'm a Grey Warden. There he is.

WHAT? I didn't come here to light a fire. I came here to unleash my magic on the darkspawn. What a joke. Lets go Alistair.

Now that's good news. Darkspawn are in the tower. hahahaha. Luck is on my side. Prepare for my rein of terror you ugly looking things. hahahaha. Unleahing walking bomb and drain life spells. hahahaha. There goes another one. What's wrong darkie? That spell too cold for you? hahahaha. This is how its meant to be. Me killing uglies while using my evil laugh. hahahaha

Its big ugly. Ok. This calls for the double walking bomb spell. Walking bomb away and virulent walking bomb. Adding drain life. Yes. hahaha. Told you. My spells are too powerful even for a big ugly like that. Ok. Light the fire. Did anyone bring a match?

What th.....Its getting dark

Hey. Its the witch of the wild girl. Her mother rescued me. She tells me everyone is dead. I want to talk with her mother.

There's a surprise. Mother wants her girl to come with me. Ok. I like her. She talks smack to Alistair. This will be fun. Ok. Lets get help to deal with the uglies.

There's the dog I helped and some uglies following the dog. Ok. How did it go? Oh yeah. Walking bomb spell, followed by the drain life spell and the one of cold spell. hahahaha

Bandits patrolling the road. Silly fools. Never mess with a mage. They were killed. Lets head into Lothering for supplies

Maggie - mage

...

PapaCharlie9 gains +1 Nostalgia.   This brought me back to my very first time playing any Dragon Age game, Origins. I played a female Circle Mage also. Human. She ended up being my canon HoF.

It was very, very, very difficult deciding how to end that game. I played through all possible endings and they all sucked. I didn't trust Morrigan any further than I could throw her, so no OGB making on my watch. I finally resigned myself to the only ending that really made sense for my character, the one she'd been telling me all along: heroic sacrifice.  :crying:

Getting OOB? Didn't I do a post on that...? The best way I've found is with a PC Trainer (LinGon) that has a... super-jump-kinda-sorta-fly-really-poorly ability. Instead of trying to break through invisible walls with a mount, with this you just jump over them.

The rain is a fickle mistress... some places it won't, some places it will.

I would, except then the utility slots are for str/con instead of dex/cun. For now I'm happy with the Griffon Armor though.

Was just taking it easy today. Stayed around Skyhold. Decided to remodel one of the empty towers. After bringing the Templars into the Inquisition, the mages have been a bit on edge. Understandably. So I remodeled the tower as a make shift mage tower. A place to escape the glares of the Templars. Seems to have eased some tensions. Or at least removed the sticks from a few butts.

Considering adding a practice ring in the courtyard. Give our non-mage people a place to blow off some steam and get in some more training. Still debating that one.

Lots of refugees here in Lothering. I head into the tavern for a drink. Who are these punks? What? The Grey Wardens killed the King. That's hard to believe. Somebody turn me in before I do it again. hahahaha. Who's this redhead trying to interfere? Sister? Get out my way. These dirtbags will be eating the floor. Engaging walking bomb spell. hahahaha. What do you want red? You want to join me? Ok. If you don't do anything worthwhile, I will have to kill you for wasting my time. hahaha

I walk around town helping folks. "I can do that for you". What? Who said that? Its the red girl. Hey. She can unlock chests. Nice. Ok. Red? Your now my second-in-command. hahaha. Morrigan just rolls her eyes. hahahaha. The dog like it.

Who is this? A q..qu..qun...qunari. It would've been easy to him. That's a hard word to say. He murdered children. Mmmm. I say we get 4 horses and have him drawn and quartered. Everyone else doesn't agree. Fine. If you guys want him, you let him out. I thought I was running this show. No evil laugh for that.

A couple of dwarfa are in trouble. I light the uglies on fire. Then add a walking bomb spell. Too easy. The dwarf, Bodahn, wants to join us, but when he learns I'm a Grey Warden, he decline. Ok. I would to. I'm a dangerous person. hahahaha. Yes. The laugh wa very appropriate

Lets make camp.

What a dream. I dreamed of what looked like a dragon. Alistair tells me over time I will be able to ignore them. Alright then. Lets go kill some uglies

That's a "black box". No, seriously, that's what they're called in the toolset. The level artists put them behind walls so that when your character is standing up against a wall, you can see through the wall and see your character.

You can't position the camera in a solid material, so they need to put something there that will be visible on one side and invisible on the other. If you were standing in the middle of the box, you wouldn't see it at all. I'm guessing that a dev was trying to position it up against a wall somewhere, clicked on it to drag it, but their monitor jumped and they dropped it. They were probably working with the camera zoomed all the way out, so when they went to go look for it to delete it or reposition it, they couldn't find it again, so they left it there.
