Julia Trevelyan is on a mission to stop being a squishy mage. She's the leader of this Inquisition thing, and leaders need to lead from the front. She can't do that if she's always getting squished. So, her new goal is to follow the path of the Knight Enchanter. All she needs is a few wisp essences and some lazurite. Ok, seems easy enough. We found some wisps in Fallow Mire so time to head back there for more. Alright, first major tussle and we got 2 more wisps, which gives us the 3 we need. Now, what about the lazurite? Hissing Wastes? Nah, that's too far, but maybe the scouts already there can find some and send it back to Skyhold. What? They just sent weeds? Well, I guess they'll be useful....later.  In the meantime, the Exalted Plains is also known for the metal, and that's much closer. Plus there's a bunch of hullaballoo going on we need to straighten out, so off we go. Set up a couple of camps, closed a rift, found a bunch of soldiers holed up in a fort hiding from the undead outside. Oh, look! Bloodstone. And obsidian! Come on, just a bit further. There's another monument to the destruction of the Dalish elves. Is that my lazurite? Nope, just an empty cave. Where is my lazurite???? I haven't found a single piece yet but I have more than enough bloodstone to make the necromancer talisman. <_< Maybe there's some on the other side of that passage that our crews just opened up......??

Read this page, love seeing what other people are up to. And.... I finally finished my first PT!!

I might not post very often but I enjoy reading about your Quizzys out there. Have fun everyone!

Always nice to see you drop by, and congrats on finishing your first game :)

Harold's had a busy day as the first Inquisitor since.. uhh, since the olden times  Turns out leaving the Oasis and going back did work out for the best, and the infamously roaming wedding ring owner was back to infamously roaming around the Oasis. Professional tip from a veteran (of one and a half PT's) inquisitor: Do not leave your game unattended while talking to this woman, or pause it first if you do. I did the former but not the latter.

By the Maker, in the five minutes I was away from the game, wedding-ring-roamer left the conversation (how rude!) and got all the way across the oasis. :pinched: ... and I couldn't see how she did it. There was, like, no path. And we ran into the giant that scout Harding warned us might be around. Yay. It all worked out in the end and we went back to Skyhold... where three slightly shifty, slightly odd characters were waiting to show Harold how to be a better rogue. He only had to pick one.

Harold decided he wanted to be a Tempest, but had forgotten he'd sent Sera packing a while back, and not only did she take Skeeter with her when she left, she took her Tempest user's manual with her. So, after a brief stop in Val Royeaux to buy a new book the gang went to the Storm Coast to kill some demons and take their essence containment apparatuseseseses.

Dorian didn't like the Coast much, and wanted to go back to Skyhold right away. He pretty much bickered with Cassandra and Blackwall the whole time we were out there. Didn't stop him from helping us kill many many many many bears though, or close a few darkspawn holes, or kill the demons and get what they needed. So now Harold is a Tempest rogue, and he made it to level 13 while doing all that. Woo. To celebrate, he crafted himself some new masterwork dragon armor and bought a new bow off Bonny Sims. All in all it's been a good day for Harold. Think we'll go to Crestwood next.

Julia finally got her metal.....never send a spy to do a soldier's work. She knew she was sweet on Cullen for a reason. First resource gathering mission he sent his troops on in the Hissing Wastes and they brought back 6 pcs (tons? crates?) of lazurite, just enough for Julia to craft her spirit blade hilt. Now she just needs a bit more experience and she can start Knight-enchanting for real. No more squishy mage, here we come! :D

We closed the rift in the lake at Crestwood.

Cassandra wanted help tracking down Seeker Captain whatshisface, so I said we'd do that.

Then Cullen took me on a little getaway to a place he liked to go somewhere in Ferelden. It was nice to get away from the freezing cold for a change. Which reminds me, why doesn't someone fix the roof over Cullen's bed? The poor man must be freezing to death. Come sleep with me Cullen. Keep me warm.

Then we went to Emprise de Lion again, but this time the bridge was fixed. Cassandra, Dorian, Solas and I crossed the bridge. We closed a couple of rifts, and we saw two dragons.

Not being one to shy away from a dragon fight, we picked the fight. It was the big one. And this was one hell of a fight. Solas died at one point, but Dorian brought him back to life. It looked like we were going to go down for the count, but she went down. This wasn't like the last dragon we fought in Crestwood. This was a real dragon.

I decided to leave the other dragon alone, because they are becoming an endangered species. If I wipe them out, there won't be any more dragons, and that would not be fun for anyone.

But... the loot  B) ... I found those Emprise de Lion dragons to be the toughest and grindiest fights of all the dragon fights... well, except for the Fereldan Frostback. She was my first dragon fight, I was woefully unprepared for it, heh. Worth it, though.

Artificer Archer in action. Though you need some luck because usually the game is getting bugged after leap shotting while in the focus ability.

Almost went for artificer. it was a tough choice.... in the end, I just decided I liked the Tempest guy better, heh. He seemed kinda crazy, and I liked his voice. Plus, I forgot to ask the artificer guy a question when I first talked to him, and he jumped down my throat for bothering him again before completing my tasks, so...yeah. No training from you, buddy. I'm the Inquisitor don'tcha know.  :D

EDIT: Forgot to mention. Regarding the artificer in action...

30 seconds to kill the Highland Ravager?

No.

Wait.

Make that 19 seconds.

Uhh...

I was impressed with my knight-enchanter taking on dragons without taking hardly any damage. Makes me realize the K-E's prowess lies in outlasting opponents. The artificer doesn't have to worry about that because the enemies are dead before they can do enough damage to kill him.

I say again, "  "

Today, Harold and his rotating company of sidekicks went to the charming village of Crestwood, with it's perpetual thunderstorm and constant rain and, oh yeah, a crop newly risen undead courtesy of everyone who died in the blight ten years ago. They -- they being Harold, Cassandra, Bull and Solas -- arrived at camp and got their initial report from the ever resourceful scout Harding, who has somehow figured out a way to get from the tavern at Skyhold to wherever we're going next, set up a camp, and be ready with a report on the goings on in the area before Harold gets there. Bio, remember that Leliana's Song DLC you made for Origins? How about making Varric's little joke a reality and giving us a Harding in Hightown DLC? If you did that I would just say, shut up and take my money, I promise.

Uhh, where was I? Oh yeah. Crestwood. Because Solas was with them -- I wasn't metagaming at all  -- they were able to recruit Jana as an agent for the Inquisition after Solas convinced her not to pursue a career as a grey warden. Blackwall wasn't even there and he disapproved, but I don't care. Given what he gets up to later on in the story, he shouldn't be disapproving of anything as far as I'm concerned. Side note: Blackwall romance PT is gonna be difficult. It's really a statement on how well I think the characters are written that the whole Blackwall thing still bugs me, heh.

Then Harold got everyone to the village, after wandering the rain-soaked countryside for awhile harvesting elfroot and killing demons and assassins, and they met with the mayor, who told them that darkspawn flooded the old village during the blight. Hmm... something just a little off about that. I mean, Harold was in the Free Marches during the blight, hunting in the forests around the family estate by day and having tawdry affairs with various noble daughters by night *headcanon alert! :D* and n ot really paying attention to what was going on elsewhwere in Thedas, but even he knew the darkspawn didn't do that kinda thing when they were blighting. Oh well, they would get to the bottom of things.

I had to laugh at one point: Solas could see that Harold was getting ready to strangle Bull for continuously flirting with his girlfriend, so he asked Bull whether qun'ari could wear shirts, and did such a good job of feigning interest and keeping Bull talking about that, that Harold resolved to do Solas a solid someday, like maybe he'd want to get revenge on some Kirkwall mages for enslaving one of his spirit friends and Harold could just look the other way, or maybe he'd just buy him a beer when they got back to Skyhold. I dunno, something. Still not metagaming

So they set up another camp, where we swapped out Bull and Solas for Varric and Vivienne. Wanted Varric for a little bit, because they were gonna meet up with Hawke and Stroud, and I thought Varric would be pleased to see his buddy again. But he never said a word. Not one. Not to Hawke, not to Stroud, not to anyone else, not even to tease Cassandra about her reading habits. That was disappointing. So once the whole Hawke thing was over, Harold sent Varric packing back to Skyhold and told Blackwall to strap his armor on instead. He and Vivienne really don't like each other at all. Has anyone else noticed that?

So the gang has just opened the floodgates on the damn and drained the lake and are on their way to close a big right, and that's where I'm at. Soon everything in Crestwood will be done, except for the dragon, and I can get back to Skyhold and upgrade the courtyard, and I may respec abilities for some of the crew now that they've all specialized.

Cullen and I are lovers (swoon).

Friends: Cassandra, Dorian, Solas, Josie

Near friends: Leiliana

Neutral: Blackwell, Iron Bull, Sera

Alas, Cole hates me. Vivienne wants to tear out my throat. I do not know how I managed to alienate two on such opposite poles.

Cronyism tells me to install Cassandra as Divine, so she has my official backing.

So today I wanted to get a present for Sera, 'cause she's funny and silly and weird and crazy and that just puts a big smile on my face. ( Among other things. ) Also she sort of kinda technically got me a present first. Ok so more like a present for everyone else who got to beat up a hat filled with apples with Corypheus's face on it. But that's cool though, it was kinda fun to watch, plus it really was an ugly hat and all. Not like it would have ever worked out anyway, cause you know, the horns tend to get in the way of most hats, but hey it's the thought that counts.

But I digress, point is I was having a hard time coming up with a good present for Sera. She's not the sort that really needs stuff, and the stuff she really does need she just takes anyway.

Part of why I love her actually, you know she's not in it just cause I'm the girl in charge, she doesn't want or need anything from me other then a good time.

But yeah, anyway, so trying to come up with a gift. I ended up asking around all my friends for suggestions. No luck there.

And I gotta say, I was actually a bit annoyed by how oblivious they were. I'm not talking about not having any ideas for me, can't hardly blame them for that. But for crying out loud, the majority of them acted like they had no idea me and Sera were a thing. I may not have made an official announcement about it but it was pretty freaking obvious. I mean we were literally doing it on the roof of the tavern the day before; that's hardly what I'd call "subtle".

I just expected them to be a bit more observant, Maker knows the rumor mill certainly picks up on absolutely everything else. But here I am just asking for some gift ideas and you're looking at me like the thought of me and the elf in bed is some radical notion. Is it because of my height? The horns? What the hell?

*sigh* Anyway, most everyone were at least happy for me, which is nice. Solas clearly didn't approve, which is a bit hypocritical when you think about it. He might not be Dalish, but he certainly has their entitled sense of self righteousness. Ah well, no one's perfect. He's still a good guy, though, and at least he's kind and respectful in his own way. Not like Vivienne, who's a total ******. Ironic that she was the only one who had any sort of a decent gift idea. Well, check that, there was nothing "decent" about her idea, still better then nothing.

Funny thing though, in the end it didn't matter, Sera was just happy that I was willing to flat out tell everyone we were lovers. Again, should have been obvious - literally banging on the roof here - but whatever, still worked out in my favor, big time.

Laid siege to Helm's Deep, er, I mean, Adamant Fortress today. Also switched from an Archer build into a dual dagger one and got the Assassin specialization.

Crafted two really nice daggers: One with 15% faster movement speed when in stealth, and the other with +Guard on hit.

Even enchanted them with a Fire and Frost rune.

And, of course I named the daggers Murder Knife I & II.

Took a few screenies along the way:

I walk around Haven. I talk with Varric. Nice guy. He talks about what happened in Kirkwall and what Hawke and associates are doing. He has a nice crossbow.

I talk with Solas. He seems to be doing ok.

I meet Cullen, Leliana, whom I met indirectly, and Josephine. They are advisors for the Inquisition.

I look over I see Cassandra practicing her skills.

Cassandra: Are you still scared like you were before closing the breach?

me: Yes. I hope I don't cry like a baby anymore.. I overreacted.

Cassandra: Yes you did. And if no one has told you yet, you wet yourself as you passed out from closing the breach.

me: How embarassing. That would also explain why I'm wearing different armor.

Cassandra: Would it be safe to say you have no fighting skills?

me: Aside from being able to cast spells, my father taught me how to use a sword, though it was just fighting against him

Cassandra: Why did you cry for your mother?

me: Well...she.. was always there when something went wrong even when I was at the circle she would come by and give me a hug.

Cassandra: Did something happen that required her to give you a hug.

me: Yes. A fellow mage wanted to touch me and I lashed out in a very bad way. I lost control and destroyed the second floor of the building. I don't like being touched. My father told me if someone tried, to use what I could not to let that happen. My fellow mages and instructors were scared of me after that. They didn't understand. My mother came by and gave me a hug. My father told me I did good.

Cassandra: Wow. That explains the stories I heard from others about what happened. I will do what I can not to have people bother you. How about showing me your skill with a sword?

me: I don't know. I'm sure I would make a fool of myself

Cassandra: Here just think about someone attacking your family.

me: ARGHHHH, HAH  (stab, stab, cut, cut, slice, slice) ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Cassandra: Oh crap. That's enough. I believe I found your motivation. When facing the enemy think about them harming your family. I have a feeling that over time you will become a very fearsome warrior, both with a sword and with magic.

me: I just don't want anything to happen to my family. Thanks for talking Cassandra. I feel better.

Cassandra: No problem. We can talk later.

I finally decided to finish my second playthrough and I realised that I have chosen the exact same options as my first playthrough :pinched: (I just like my original choices too much!!!). Here are some stats; played for 83 hours, lv 24, 9834 gold and 234 power.

Spoilery decisions as follows:

Spoiler

Anyway I was back at Skyhold and apparently after saving the world, my companions have all gone a bit shy as they don't know what to talk about. So I thought "I need to get out of here and do some exploring". I went back to the Hinterlands with Vivienne, Blackwall, Iron Bull and I was hoping that the party members would spring back to life. Then, I got a Blackwall/Vivienne banter and thought "well at least they're back to insulting one another" :). After searching for some mosaic pieces (and failed), I've decided to leave this Inquisitor for awhile.

My next playthrough will be on Nightmare and I will not reduce the difficulty under any circumstances. I want that achievement and the Envy Demon isn't going to stop me this time!!! So it looks as if I will be doing the Templar route again for a third time (I will eventually get to a mage playthrough one day).

I played yester-night. Up to this point I avoided information on Kieran, and my first play had Morrigan without a child. So I met/saw him for the first time. Initial reaction was "oh no." Usually I cannot stand children in my games. However, I actually ended up finding him pretty endearing. Then I grilled Morrigan on everything of and related to the HoF since she was my canon romance. om nom nom. Had Leliana make contact with him at the War Table as well.

Wanted to push ahead to What Pride Had Wrought, but had only 10/40 Power, so I went farming for more in the Hinterlands. What crap. Well I finished with 33, so I should be able to get what I need and tonight and get the quest underway.

Cullen and Julia are officially a thing now....all the barracks are talking about us, even Dorian chimed in when I went to see him about the letter his father sent. He's quickly turning into my new BFF, so when I took him to meet "the retainer" who turned out to be dear ol'l dad, we left asap once Dorian told me what his father had tried to do. Took him out to kill some Venatori afterwards....that was much more fun. Looking forward to that romance, actually, assuming I ever move past Cullen.  We are still working our way through all the encampments in Exalted Plains. I'm sure there are plenty more pits that need to be burned, and all of them likely guarded by undead. What the heck are these Freemen thinking? How is this a good alternative to civil war?! Might take a quick trip to Crestwood to meet up with Hawke if we need a break. Oh wait, that place is crawling with undead too. Well, s***.
