Hush you! *as coldi stuffs her face with chocolate covered raisins!*
Blasphemy!
Quick question to any/all willing to answer? Who has done WE&WH before Abyss, how often do you do it first (if you have more than two play throughs), and which (and why) do you prefer doing one first before the other?
I have reasons for asking this....
Well... I do that in most of my pts. First, because I want to do it asap. Second, because I prefer when Gaspard mentions my mage/templar decision in place of Wardens' one.

I've only done it that way one time, which was when I had a world state with Warden Alistair and Kieran and specifically wanted to see this exchange:
Otherwise, it just flows better for me talking to Hawke and following that quest line through first. It's easy to imagine that you're doing that while waiting for the date of the peace talks.

GET THOSE CHOCOLATE RAISINS OUTTA HERE!!!
I do WEWH first to gain back lost approval from some companions after the mage/templar choice and it's also one of my fave main story quests. Who wouldn't want to go to a fancy party? ![]()
Well this thread certainly took a turn... ![]()
And now I'm hungry dammit...
And everyone knows those chewy, fudgy cookies are the best!

I've played it both ways and while I don't really have a preference, doing WE&WH last means you get to throw in Florianne's face how you've unraveled all of Cory's plans... ![]()
"You did it!"

Thanks everyone, for answering the questions.
I have always done Adamant before WE&WH, but I wanted to switch things up for a change. I did, however, want go to Crestwood before the ball. Initially I was only going to go to Crestwood - since I knew back in Haven, that the village was plagued with zombies - and then straight on to WE&WH. Buuuut, I then realized I wanted to dip my toe into the Exalted Plains (Solas had no bearing on this in the slightest ), and then I forgot that I needed Alpha Quillback thingamabobbers for my Artificer Spec. So I went to the Western Approach. But now I am getting waay over leveled, like some others have mentioned. I don't know....it feels all messy now. LOL!
I will try doing WE&WH again, but I will do it when I don't care about my specialization, or I already have the ingredients I need for it. AND I will remember to turn on "Take it Slow", next time as well.

What the heck happened here, and where are my cookies, dammit! ![]()
So, I'm a bit late to this party but....my last couple of games I've done WEWH first, after clearing EP and the Freemen out of EG. I basically use the reasoning that marching an army through Orlais would be easier if I don't have to worry about the civil war disrupting things. Also, in my head it takes longer than one fast travel for Hawke/Warden to get the scoop on what's going on at Adamant and report back. Then the whole logistics of planning the assault, setting up Griffon Wing Keep as an FOB, well....it makes sense to me.
If I play again, I'll probably use Warden Alistair in an attempt to get the garden scene with Morrigan, so it will be WEWH first in that game too.
If you're worried about over-leveling, you can turn on Take It Slow at any point, and also Even Ground so enemies scale up to your level. I noticed in my last game, however, that with both Even Ground and Walk Softly on, only enemies that were by default at my level or higher seemed to get promoted with Walk Softly. Mooks, etc, leveled up by Even Ground were just normal, with no extra promotions. Does that match what other folks have found, or was it just my imagination?

She went and set up Direstone camp, and was greatly surprised by a couple great bears while looking for the tiniest cave.
Well, after fighting with Imgur yesterday and today to get Trespasser pics uploaded.....screenshots!
Cass isn't quite sure of the name of Nery's boyfriend ![]()

As for what your thinking is, regarding EP and EG, then WE&WH, THAT was exactly my original intention. Aaaaand then I went off the rails. Crestwood (and my stupid specialization) threw me for a loop. Bah....it's not the end of the world, obviously, and honestly, it just got me wondering what order other people tend to do those two main quests. And there reasoning.
I did Artificer last game (so much fun!
). My justification was since we were scouting the area anyway with Stroud, we may as well fight a few quillbacks (and hyenas, Venatori, phoenixes, varghasts, darkspawn, bandits, bound Wardens, oh, and a dragon) while we're at it. No reason to waste the trip. ![]()
