Ugh, my last 3 runs of Trespasser were harlequins infinity, Inky 0. At least I got them all once for the schematic.

I find the easiest way to catch the Harlequins is to save at the entrance of the "alley" between the crafting building and the wall next to it. Keep reloading until you see the Harley either appearing (with her back to you) at the other side of the alley...

Screenshot_Win32_0272_Final.jpg

... or hear her appear down the path to the right (one building down) where you can easily nab her as well. As soon as you grab her, save yourself at the alley entrance again and reload until she appears near you again. You'll be done in no time. :)

I dug up an old save from my original run through Trespasser just to do Harlequin tag -- which I didn't even know was a thing until I read about it here. After watching a bunch of how-to videos, figured I pokemon in 10 minutes flat, no sweat.

An hour later, ready to toss my keyboard out a window, I finally caught one. I did exactly the same thing I had done the previous thousand times, but for some reason it decided to taunt me by working one time.

I think this is just another variation of the RNG hating me.

Yeah, no. Did all that, did precisely the same approach (walk on grass, then run the last few steps, and do so within time limit of appearance). Worked once.

Interesting... I don't know if this might help, but I never walk, I always run straight at them. And I don't think I've ever missed one with the set-up-by-the-alley approach... But I am using a PC, maybe the sensitivity is different on the consoles?

I know the feeling. The game where I got all 5, I did the save/reload in the corner behind where Dorian sits (hiding in the bushes, basically) and it took maybe an hour for them to respawn enough times in that location. A couple of times it almost auto-grabbed since it spawned so close to where I was standing - I didn't even have to do anything. I tried the same strategy in my Sam game, and the stupid thing NEVER respawned there in about 20 reloads. I gave up.

This was as close as I got:

I played a Bioware Game, just not DA (I've been the feeling I've done everything that I wanted to do in game so yeah, burnt out.)

* KOTOR - the First - Made by Bioware - made character Revan 2 - Female Jedi

* Hates how confusing it is

* Now apperatices DAO even more, as its not confusing and its forthwroght in telling you what to do.

* Revan's fake name is Angela Core. Too lazy to think of a proper name...

A couple of things I've noticed in the past - if you're camping too close to their spawn point, chances are they won't spawn there at all. And that particular location is really tough as her back is nearly to the wall and has a great field of vision from there.

Another one of the easier locations is near the main gate where she spawns near a planter. If you hang around the other side of the planter (nearest the gate), it's easy to jump over the planter when she appears and nab her there...

I encountered the Great Bears in the Hinterlands to get the mastercraft thing. I encountered 3 of them at once. After a couple of minutes, I was wondering what was taking so long to kill them. So I went into Tactical camera mode. Turns out the bears health is at 45000. On the ps3, it was around 1500 I believe. I do have the trial for killing the great bears turned on. So that might be the difference.

I'm on PC too. Running on a hard surface seems to alert them, at least for me. Also bumping into anything on the way there.

I hadn't tried jumping on top of one. RNG seems to like to spawn them near the baths for me, so I'll try that.

My best save point has been near Blackwall (see how-to in the wiki). There are 3 spawn points within hearing distance of that spot, including one on the other side of the wall in the main courtyard.

But the alley near the crafting stations was what I tried first. If they are facing away, should be a slam dunk, right? I gave up after 5 straight failures and moved to the Blackwall spot. I kept bumping into the lumber there and that seemed to alert them.

I wonder if race/class matters? Maybe Qunari are super loud running and elves are super quiet? I'm using a human mage. I stripped off all armor, in case that made a difference, and wore default PJs.

I find that the easiest way to get one is when they spawn by the waterfall feature near Vivienne. You can just drop down onto them from the bridge above. Also they sometimes spawn at the foot of the stairwell that leads down from where Dorian and the Orlesian Ambassador originally are. You can drop down on them there, too. Another place is the corner below the raised platform on the right of the main entrance. You can drop down on them from the place that is kind of the mirror image of where Josephine is. You can also drop down on them when they stand at the corners of the baths, but that seems to be more hit-and-miss.

I didn't even know you could interact with them :D I'll have to try that

I restarted my Adaar... I hate myself sometimes :P I just wanted a character to hate Solas and I read somewhere that you can tell him to ****** off in Trespasser if you never talk to him about himself. Of course I read that after Adaar had already talked to Solas. So now I'm playing a Solas-hating Adaar. I hope I finally get to punch him. Then i'tll be worth it.

Greed let one of his agents, a dalish mage named Cillian, analyze some glyphs he found. The inscription lead them to the Lost Temple of Dirthamen.

Pretty dark place. Did the elves never hear of windows?

After battling through some undead, to get some undead(?) body parts....

tumblr_o4mgkqFK6a1rr7n8lo1_1280.png

...Greed put the body parts on some pedestals and summoned the ghost of a elven priest.

tumblr_o4mgkqFK6a1rr7n8lo2_1280.png

I actually took this pic, cause I thought Viv was stealing Greed's guard. turns out it was her amulet, Andraste's Sacrifice, that gave her guard.  <_<

Back in Skyhold, Greed searched for Cassandra, cause he wanted to ask her about her brother.

He found her in the war room, planing troup maneuvers.

Finally! Got all the Harlequins. Only took 30 minutes.

Jumping down in the bath area: 2 for 2 attempts.

Running up on them from other spawnpoints:  2 for 5 attempts.

I think what I was doing wrong in the previous runnup attempts was not being squarely behind them. If you are off by a little at an angle, they get away.

The problem I have is they nearly always spawn facing my direction. By this point in the game, I don't feel like wasting time doing a circuit around the palace grounds just in case I might catch one.

I have done the Harlequins once. Once. I have caught one or two, in subsequent play throughs, but it was just a case of "right there", and hitting the button at the "right time". Zero for Cayte. Derp.

BTW, is it a common thing for Sera's pranks at the Winter Palace, not to trigger? I have played through Trespasser a total of four and a quarter, times. Now I expected NOT to get the scene with my Freya Lavellan - Sera and her didn't entirely see "eye to eye". However, my other four play throughs all had a "friended" Sera. All did her PQ, plus pranks, and got the cookie scene. Yet of those four, only two of them triggered the Pranks/Red Jenny scene with Sera at the Winter Palace (Bronte Lavellan and Abel Trevelyan shown in my previous post).

The two that didn't trigger, I DID go back to an earlier save, and switched up doing a few things (figured it wouldn't hurt to try), but still no-go. BTW, my Cayte Trev was one of the PC's that should have had access to that content. Not thrilled that this has happened twice now. <_<

In four Trespasser playthroughs I've had two Inquisitors who romanced Sera and two who were friends. Pranks and wedding/Jenny invitation (delete as applicable) triggered every time.

So I wonder what prevented the events from triggering, in those two play throughs? Hmmmm. If anyone else has had this problem, it would be interesting to compare a few things regarding said play throughs. I don't mind "gaming" a bug, to make a work around. But need more info to try different things.

My next PT that will be doing Trespasser (after I finish Abel), will be my Cassmancing Samhal Lavellan. He already had the pranks and cookies with Sera. All seems well. Hoping it triggers correctly. My Ari Lavellan (good god, me and elves! ), is well...let's just call her "serious". Not on Sera's Christmas card list, I would guess. Ahem.

Next the team were called to the Arbor Wilds. Calpernia was freed to go back to Tevinter. Not a popular decision, but Tobias believed that she deserved a second chance. Morrigan drank from the well. Not such a difficult decision for him.

No idea on this. The only times I didn't get pranks/Jenny invite were when I didn't get the cookie scene in the main game. Maybe approval dropped afterwards to too low a level? Although, considering I always disagree with her about what happened in Arbor Wilds and get a ton of disapproval as a result, that doesn't seem likely either.

So far, I have always gotten the cookie scene, after the Arbor Wilds. So even if I have taken a small hit on approval during the convo following that main quest, I seem to make up for it in other ways (most likely Judgements, I would guess), or I never dipped low enough to stop the cookie scene from triggering....?? Regardless, cookie scene still came after Arbor Mist...errr...Wilds. (always think of that cheap wine, every time I see/hear that name  )

Bah! I dunno...if it goes goofy with Samhal's PT in Trespasser, I will try a bunch of different things to see if I can get it to trigger. the other two, I only reloaded once (for each PT), the start of Trespasser to try talking to companions in different orders. Seeing if that made a difference. I didn't try more than the one time each, though. I just don't like not knowing why/what/where/how??
