The whole scene is fantastic. Cassie's behaviour throughout is just adorable -- initially kind of a speechless "Oh Maker, make him stop" and, "Oh Maker, let this moment never end" in equal measure. And he just keeps reading, getting more and more into it. And then she says (something like), "you had to choose that poem?" And he gives her the book and she starts reading a different one and he recites the last couple lines, at which point she turns around and they kiss and ...things progress.

The thing is I really wonder whether Varric's Sword & Shield is really her own sole source of "Romance reference" or does she reads from other sources as well? Because Varric's reference is either Hawke/DA2 LI, either Aveline/Donnic. And neither of these couples are really the best romantic referebce... I mean come on, Aveline's "It's... a nice day!" phrase when first "dating" Donnic is hilarious.

 

And to say it like this, since Cullen uses this very same line when starting the romance, maybe he read Varric's sword & shield too...

It was more kinda like she couldn't believe he had done all that, but she was loving it, kinda lighthearted and playful teasing. It was really well done.

Loaded my nightmare playthrough (so it is technically my 3rd playthrough as I am more or less at the start). I am level 4 in the middle of the Hinterlands with basic equipment and I have to earn 4 power to get to Val Royeaux. I already have 1 for creating swords for the inquisition.

 

I thought I will try my luck going east as there is a camp nearby and this will give me 1 power easy. I saw the bandits in the distance and I thought "yeah I think we can take them". I must be really bad at nightmare mode because I used all 8 potions in a mini-skirmish with 4 bandits . After a struggle, I managed to kill the 4 bandits and wandered further down the path and there were more so I didn't chance it and returned to the party camp (to restock potions). Then I remembered I could get an easy power point by doing requisitions but the officer wanted dwarven puzzle boxes . I changed tactics by closing a nearby rift which got me to two power and luckily another party camp was not too far away which gave me another power point.

 

I then began to explore the Hinterlands (and by exploring, I mean fleeing/evading Templars and mages). Then I finally closed another rift for the final power requirement. I went back to Skyhold to craft some equipment. It is better equipment than I had but it still isn't anything to brag about. I spoke with some of my companions at Skyhold and then went to Val Royeaux.

I believe you are right, but AWR sounds so much like Jo Wyatt I felt like I was playing Hawke again (which was really confusing when they were talking to each other!). I used the other voice this time and like it much better for femQuizzie.

Bull asked for a favor today. To take down some Venatori and their cargo.....he says it will bring forth an alliance with the Qunari. Of course I did not even ask I just said "awwww Bull you had me at ' hey boss' without needing to sweeten the pot"

An old friend of his was involved....he implied a threat to Dorian....I was polite to him because Bull is my friend but when he suggested we sacrifice the chargers? Hell no. I told him to fornicate himself with a poleaxe.

Kerm is a nice dude.....if it was not for his voice that reminds me of a certain commander who tries too hard to sound grrrrrrr-badass....I did not want to lose him either







Vivienne and I finely dined on wyvern liver with some fava beans and a lovely antivan chianti......while discussing my support for her as Divine of course. Like I would not support my über BFF...

Ugh, more undead, more rain, more marshes. Can't we ever go someplace nice? Julia and crew are in Crestwood, looking for a fade rift underneath a lake. The fort is ours and the lake is drained but finding the rift will have to wait till tomorrow. Once that is done, then maybe we can get on with what we really came here to do, which is meet up with Hawke and a Warden called Loghain. That name sure sounds familiar....it's not the same ex-Ferelden-regent-and-father-of-the-queen Loghain, is it? I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Afterwards we might have to take a side trip to find the local dragon....seems it's been bothering the locals recently.

 Yesterday night I got the Power needed for and started the quest What Pride Had Wrought but got stuck in a dialogue with Morrigan that I could not exit out of. So I just shut it off and went to bed, tired anyway.

 

Tonight I went back to it and rushed forward to see the end of the whole Morrigan/Kieran(/Flemthal) arc.

 

And thus my Inquisitor, Ashkaari Adaar, a self-designated seeker of knowledge/truth and aspiring next Qunari prophet...

 

... drank from the Well of Sorrows and is now a slave of an elven goddess. LOLOLOLOLOL!

I don't think I will ever be able to pick the Qun over the Chargers. I love those guys. Might be different if Bull's contact was Tallis or (dare I dream it?) Sten, but Gatt is just some random dude. Who cares what he wants? Harold had beers with the Chargers all afternoon that day. He heard their stories and he learned their song. Bull is his friend, even if he shamelessly flirts with Cassandra when we're out on quests Two things about that. Cassandra doesn't look at Bull the way she looks at Harold, and Vivienne keeps Bull in line just fine. Thank you, darling.

Leliana now has some agents destroying a contract in the House of Repose for Josephine, and Cullen is giving the troops a bit of a rest and has them gathering resources out in Crestwood instead, while Jospehine has her people out doing the same. In the meantime, Bull still looks like he needs to recover from drinking Chasind Sack Mead with the boys all night, so Harold left him back in Skyhold, and invited Varric and Vivienne to join Cassandra and him out in the Western Approach. Varric is with us because he's heard there might be some red lyrium deposits out here somewhere, and Vivienne has joined us because she's looking for something to read, and Cassandra is here because she is Cassandra. No other reason necessary. Err... although she does have some unfinished business out here somewhere, too.

Once we find Varric's red lyrium we'll swap him out for Blackwall for when we go in search of Hawke and Stroud and the Wardens... or, hmmm, maybe we should keep Varric around for that too. But that would mean sending Cassandra back to Skyhold. *sigh* What's an inquistor/loverboy to do? Anyway, Blackwall does have some Grey Warden-y things to locate out here, so he stays, at least until we find them.

So it's Ho hum* rifts. Ho hum shards. Ho hum Lazurite and Paragon's Luster for the requisitions officer. Ho hum hyenas and Ho Hu- wait... is that a dungeon?
