Aw crap. I have my male Adaar who is romancing Dorian, but I also wanted a character who could punch Solas, but Adaar is friends with him. So I made a female Adaar, to romance Iron Bull, and she was supposed to hate Solas but just now she was with Solas and Iron Bull in Crestwood and Solas told Bull that he isn't really Tal-Vashoth and that he has the Inquisitor, and him. How can I hate Solas after that :(

He is oddly charming for a racist, genocidal maniac.

I had an Adaar who almost came to blows with Solas.  She was a mage to boot.  And beautiful for an Qunari.  So hard to get them to look feminine with the sliders and the lack of hair.  Anyhow.  I made her a Rift Mage and I realized I hate Rift Mage in DAI. So I abandoned her game.  :(  But I'm sure she would have decked Solas.  And it would have been glorious! #sorrynotsorry.

It's been months and the DR/US decision as well as Alistair's fate still are the greatest obstacle in recreating my world state.

When your choices are based on what you simply enjoy, the process is much quicker. But when you do it based on what is morally right and what would be better story wise, you have a hundred variables to consider.

Random aside... my 68 year old mother.. she loves survival horror like silent hill and she also loves fallout.  Like, she being the retired broad she is, spends her time playing fallout 4.  She also likes tomb raider and uncharted.  She's hilarious.  She'll bake you muffins, then kill you with a chainsaw.  It's all my fault she plays video games you know.  Back in the PS 1 days, I was still living with my parents and my mother started playing Spyro the Dragon and it was all downhill from there.  I can't complain too much.  My mom is always giving me money to buy games she thinks I might like.  LOL!

:D  She sounds like a great grandma. None in my family games the way I do, the most the boys will play is DOTA, the girls on their mobiles. <_<  Or if they did, I never seen them but most of the times I'll hear them talk about it. They go a little green when I showed them UT '99, GW2 or ME3 MP, they're not used to that kind of camera angle; they like their gameworld flat and 2D  . I'd call them wazzies.  :P  I did catch one of them playing Total War Rome but he didn't seem that keen in tactical play and didn't touch it again.

I didn't recruit Sera and Viv in this PT. I think Dagna will have no one to fall in love with.

I just pick a character and enter the decisions I made playing as that character into The Keep. Problem solved.

I'm feeling a little lazy, so I'll just copy my post from the badass pictures thread and let the screenshots talk for themselves  (tho I added some not so badass pics, cause they're pretty but didn't fit into the other thread)

Spending too much time taking screenshots for Where This At game. But in doing so, have discovered a bunch of stuff I've never seen before! It's just amazing to me that after so many PTs, there is still ground (legit, not OOB) that my IQ has never trod on, still vistas never viewed, easter eggs not discovered.

Here's just one. I can't use it for the game since it's technically OOB, but still had never seen before. View of Crestwood in daylight, as viewed from the rift "crater" in the middle of the lake. The crater island itself is what I had never seen before.

I don't like scary things though, which is why there is no way in hell I'll be playing Bloodborne, despite my brother's constant harassment to do so.  Plus, ain't nobody got time to play something that is so ridiculously hard.  At the end of the day I want to enjoy it not be angry at my console and hate life.

Amen!

I mean, I get the appeal. Some people are motivated by having "git gud!" screamed at them by everyone and everything: the game, friends, youtube, etc. I get that after dying and reloading and running through the same gauntlet of mooks a hundred times until you finally beat a mid-tier boss, that you get a feeling of accomplishment for doing that, but like you said, who has time for such self-inflicted punishment? Listening to Vivienne whine about her shoes is enough punishment for me.

FWIW, Bloodborne doesn't appear to have a lot of jump-scare type stuff, relative to Dead Space or Fatal Frame. It's still horror, but not heart attack inducing scary horror.

But there is something to be afraid about: Dark Souls and Bloodborne have been extremely influential. There have been a bunch of me-too indie games, like Salt and Sanctuary, that try to capture the same design goals of hard-on-purpose, no dumbing-down, MP that encourages griefing and trolling, etc. Just as Skyrim influenced all RPG's since it came out, I'm afraid Dark Souls and Bloodborne are going to influence DA4 and MEA.

My Human Rogue Inquisitor bought Deraboam's Unpurchaseable Golden Nug. He's going to have to learn how to be an actual merchant now.

Tom Clancy Division Dark Zone also has the worst griefing I've ever seen. It's easy to rob players of their loot, lower level and average equipped players get mowed down, innocent players  were lured and turned into rogues and they get jumped. The devs response was to inflict heavy punishment and makes DK, a PvP area, not suitable for PvP. They contradicted themselves by putting in poor game PvP features and then made it worse instead of correcting the flaws.

DS and Bloodborne gameplay is very boring, endless grinding and farming. Combat wise, nothing to scream at, it's not as good as the varied and fluid styles I've seen in other PRGs; Dragon's Dogma. I hope they don't use those (DA and Bloodborne) in DA4.

Played Harlequin Tag for much longer than I care to admit. I nearly had the 5th one and then some stupid Orlesian bumped the Harlequin out of his way, causing him/her to face me instead and poof into smoke. If there was ever a time I wanted to whip my Spirit Blade out on somebody, it was that guy. He so deserved it. It took like another 45 minutes to get the final one after that.

I always make sure to click on him a few times after buying that nug to hear how miserable he is. Oh, poor Orlesian

Over in the Combat forum, Rift Mage keeps getting dumped on as "broken", which is not true. To prove it, I went back to an old save in Trespasser, the Darvaarad run, and ran it as a solo Rift Mage, on Nightmare with all Trials enabled except Rub Dirt On It and Travelling Light. This was with my level capped canon Inquisitor. I stopped shortly after releasing the dragon.

Welllllll ... I did prove that it wasn't broken, but it was waaaaaaaaay harder than I expected it to be. If it weren't for the Ring of Doubt glitching some of the enemy AI, I never would have made it. Just too many elemental resistances on promoted enemies. Quite a few had two resistances, like Cold Resistance and Fire Resistance. That's death for a solo mage. A lot of battles were just running around in stealth until whatever one ability I had that actually did damage would be available again, use it, then run around in stealth some more. Pretty tedious.

I applaud and commend you for a valiant experiment. I still love RM, even with it's "flaws" in Trespasser. I have yet to make a mage that could realistically choose Necro, so the only time I play Necro is controlling Dorian or (occasionally) in MP. KE is fun enough, but even with the changes to SB, I still find myself spamming it. RM feels more balanced as a spec, especially if you are playing in a team. And since I prefer team play over solo, I usually take RM, when I am a mage. I even do it when Solas is planned as a fairly constant teammate.

Though, I got to say, what can be hella-fun (well, to me ;) ), is playing a DW rogue, and running with all three companion mages. Now THAT is mayhem! B)

I just rerolled my Inquisitor who was a Rift Mage (and I didn't have any saves from before getting his specialization) because it was way too hard for my liking. I do like Rift Mages, but only on normal difficulty, not on hard :P
