Finished my playthrough

After the credits, I went in the undercroft and synced with the golden nug. Activating it once I guess is enough. I loaded an earlier save and synced with the nug again. All whatever transferred to that save. Not bad. I will play the trespasser dlc later. After completing that, I will start my nightmare run. Still kicking myself for not starting on nightmare to begin with.

 

 

Nightmare is 100% easier with the golden nug. That's what finally got me to do my nightmare playthrough, albeit it was the noobiest playthrough ever.

Knight Enchanter elf, took 3 tanks with me everywhere. Blackwall, Cassandra, and Sera on Daggers. Fully upgraded regeneration potion and jar of bees and used them constantly. Farmed the plants for them in between all the big missions. Made Morrigan drink from the well so I didn't have to fight a dragon. Chose the mages so I didn't have to fight the envy demon with no supply caches.

 

Nice playthrough, Mike.

 

 

Frankly NIGHTMARE is challenging but very do-able. i really didn't need a golden nug for anything for my three NIGHTMARE playthroughs.

Started my nightmare run. Here's Heather Trevelyan. She will do what she can to close the breach. This playthrough will be similiar to the one I just finished except I won't be taking as long since I got most of the trophies in the previous playthrough.

I played Quantum Break instead of DAI today. 

 

You have to admit, that's pretty douchey.

 

I still thought about my future plans for my douchey Qunari Herald of Andraste. I might just tell Sera to hit the road since I'm a powerful Rogue and I only needed her jar of bees.

Started playing Dragon Age Origins on PC again after last night. I picked male Human Noble and discovered that Elenor was a Warrior class. All these years and I never knew. Thanks to Skip Ostagar I made it to Lothering extremely fast.

I was going through my pics and this one of my lady Inquisitor after saving an elven servant, the room is all sparkly with the window open. Did BioWare take inspiration from anime?

I just finished recruiting Sera and Viviienne on my nightmare run.

 

Before I left Haven to go to the Hinterlands, I synced with goldie. It worked. I crafted a level 20 staff with level 1 materials. I even crafted a level 19 club for Cassanadra. Its fun watching her smash the baddies with such ease on nightmare. If it was me, I would've had the ability to sync all schematics for the same Inquisitor in the previous playthrough and not for a new character. I'm thinking of starting over, but I've played nightmare a number of times already without having goldie around,and I don't want to waste the time I've played up to this point.

Hmmm, that gives me an idea that could be fun. A Machismo Cheese run. Exploit the heck out of the GN as early as possible and play on Casual, no Trials. Mow down the mobs and bosses with over-leveled gear. Envy Demon? Two hits: I hit you, you hit the ground. Fiona? Have a little of my Chromatic Greatsword while Solas zaps you with Encore. Might be good for lulz.

A more challenging variation would be to wear no armor, PJs only. You can have a Tier 4 weapon, but if you take one hit, you're dead. Kind of like Dark Souls, lol.

Romanced (and married to an elf who told her she's OK with the revelations about the Creators) Sera's final Past and Now Things from Trespasser, captured at night during the fireworks bit. It's actually quite a bit bigger than the Cabinet from the main game, and so sweet. It would be heartbreaking if I didn't know the ending...

Natalia mark 2.0 finished collecting shards from the Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Emerald Graves, Emprise du Lion and Hissing Wastes. Just need to acquire more in Exalted Plains and it's off to the Forbidden Oasis.

 

Dorian and Bull are still taking things slow, but with progress. Bull teased Dorian about flexing in front of a mirror and how he handled his staff. Poor guy got embarrassed...

Did everything in Lothering, and went straight for the Broken Circle quest. Got Wynne and benched Morrigan for her. Skipped the Fade with  mod and killed Uldred. Sided with the mages and got the achievement for it.

I know there have been terabytes spilled over stuff in DAO that people wished were still in DAI (*cough* Mana Clash/Arcane Warrior/Dual Weapon *cough*), but I can't help but add this to the pile: I miss the way characters were added/benched from the party. Alistair would look so sad every time I benched him, and so pumped every time I added him back.

And while the tarot cards are nice, I don't like having to roll through everyone to get to who I want. I would prefer everyone be on the same screen and then I just click to add like in the previous 2 games. They could still have the tarot cards for that, but just have them in a grid instead of a rolodex.

Okay...so it has been a few years since my last DAO play through, but I could have sworn one of the things Zev can say when being "benched" is,

"Suit yourself."



Did I just head canon that line, or does it actually exist??

This is especially irritating for me since I realised that the order you pick them influences where they appear in cutscenes...

Is that so? I had no idea. I always put the warrior in slot 2, rogue/mage in slot 3, and mage in slot 4, lol.
