Maya, sitting on a bale of Inquisition supplies and refletching some arrows, noticed one of Leliana's messengers (the non-feathered kind) dash into the chamber and head straight for Cassandra. Maya couldn't hear what was said, but Cass looked stunned by the news. Maya trotted over to find out what was going on.
"What's going on?" Maya asked.
"Lord Seeker Lucius! Leliana's spies have found a clue. We need to go to Caer Oswin, immediately."
"What? Now!?"
"It is imperative! We must find the Seekers if we are to defeat Corypheus."
Assuming they haven't joined him, Maya thought, but didn't say so as not to upset Cass.
"But, what about the earthquakes? What about Orzammar and the Legion? What about Valta and Renn? We can't just abandon them here, not to mention all the loo... er, all the looking around for clues and stuff."
Dorian and Vivienne stayed out of the shouting match that ensued a moment later. At one point Dorian observed, "I knew our Inquisitor grew up in the Carta, but I had no idea she had such a diverse repertoire of obscenities."
"Nor I Cassandra," Vivienne replied. "Oh dear, they are coming to blows. I suppose it is time to intercede."
Vivienne did her ice statue trick, the same one she used on the obnoxious noble when Maya first met the First Enchanter. Maya and Cass stood frozen while Dorian placated. "Now, now. There's no need for violence. Surely we can settle this calmly? I propose a compromise. Valta is still recovering from her wounds. She can recoup here at this camp while we take a quick jaunt to Caer Oswin. We will be back in two shakes of a fennec's tail."
Dorian leaned in and whispered into Maya's ear, "And I hear tell Caer Oswin has some very fine swag tucked away in all the nooks and crannies, with nary a lock nor guard in sight."
Vivienne released the spell. Maya, recovering quickly, said, "All right, all right! I suppose for the good of the Inquisition, we should visit Caer Oswin."
And so they did.
Dorian did not disappoint. There was a lot of loose loot lying around. Maya was mollified, even to the point of slapping Dorian on the fanny and giving him a huge wink, while Cass wasn't looking.
Fighting the red lyrium infected former-Seekers sum Promisers was child's play after the darkspawn of the Deep Roads. Maya and her crew mowed them down like so much hay before the scythe.
The confrontation with Lord Seeker Lucius was short and to the point. Cass was seething from the torture and infection of her protege; a volcano ready to erupt all up in Lucius's grill. Lucius spouted a bunch of nonsense about the Maker's Will and the truth behind the Seekers. He tossed a book to Cass. She seemed confused for a moment, but Maya wasn't playing. She put an arrow into Lucius's chest. Half a minute later and there wasn't anything left but a greasy stain on the ground.
Cassandra said, "I must study this book back at Skyhold."
Dorian and Cassandra braced for another verbal battle, but Maya, a bit weighed down by all her ill-gotten booty, agreed. "Let's make a quick stop back home."
------------
Back at Skyhold, Cassandra found some astonishing facts in the old book. The Rite of Tranquility was reversible? Seekers were Tranquils, only more OG? Creepy! But beside the point. Maya was ready to go back to the Deep Roads, but Varric had a little surprise waiting for everyone.
"Everyone, this is Bianca" ...
