Whelp. I give up.

I have now redone the start of WE&WH's a handful of times. With mods, without mods, starting from different save points, and doing things in different order. Yet no matter what, every time my "me" Inquisitor uses the "Shall we dance" romance option with Solas, Male!Inquisitor's voice comes out of her/my mouth. (If curious, it is the British male VA.)

I'll chalk it up to a hoarse voice, caused by seasonal allergies. (since I am dealing with those myself, right now. *shrug*)

At least I can now - with confidence - go back to my lovely mods. "Better to look good, than to feel (sound) good!"

It should work if you just do it in the standard text box for the post. The code box is so you can show code without it actually working...

 

Another way would be to click the "Special  BBCode box" which is third from the left on the top row. There you'll get a drop down menu where you can select "Spoiler,"

 

Easiest though is to just do as I showed. spoiler surrounded by square brackets before the text/pics you want to hide, and /spoiler surrounded by square brackets afterwards.

Exactly the same bug just happened to me! I am using Sumalee as VA for Xoana, and have no mods installed.

Same. Sumalee and playing an elf. I have used Sumalee's voice on two other F!Elves, and I don't remember that ever happening. But ah well....I'll just take a giggle.

Yaaay, I finished the Descent! I thought it was a real good DLC, not as good as Trespasser, but fun, more than I had expected.

Except for maybe... the GEARS! The last 2 made me want to pull my hair out, and after another wasted hour of looking over the Heidrun Thaig again, I just said f*ck it and looked up where they were. Who would've thought you need to jump to your almost-death to get those super secret gears Also, I still miss 1 mug, but I couldn't be arsed right now. Might go back and look for it, might as well not and start JoH very soon

Same. Sumalee and playing an elf. I have used Sumalee's voice on two other F!Elves, and I don't remember that ever happening. But ah well....I'll just take a giggle.

It's the first time I've used her for an elf and the first time I've romanced Solas, so I have no direct precedent. I've never had anything similar happen before, though. I guess it's specific to that combination.

Many serial-Solasmancers lovingly refer to that as "face shrapnel". I have considered getting the "Eggs without Hats" mod (which simply removes the helm from Solas' Halamshiral uniform), but I have oddly gotten used to it. Go figure.

So I too finished out Halamshiral with my Me!Inquisitor, and I did what I believed would have been the best choice. Though, as most of us know in this thread, isn't exactly the "best" choice. I had them work together. But dem's da rulz. No meta in this run. Doing what I believe I would do, if actually in that position. Okay...I may have meta'd on occasion, in this play through, but I TRY not to make a habit of it.

I started a new DAO game. I've played the city elf origin multiple times but never made it past Ostagar with any of my characters so that's what I'm doing this time. Here is Daria Tabris:

She's a rogue, like her mother, and, while not quite the trouble-maker that Shianni is, doesn't back down from anyone. Needless to say, she wasn't all that excited to be getting hitched, especially to someone she'd never even met before.

To save her from certain execution, Duncan invoked the Right of Conscription to recruit her into the Grey Warden order.

They left for Ostagar in such a hurry, she forgot to change her clothes  (and apparently didn't bother to do so along the way either!)

Not long after arriving, she found her way to the other Warden in camp. Alistair is a bit of a doof but seems decent enough. For a human.

I'm letting Natalia mark 2.0 bask in the Frostback Basin sun for a bit while turning attention to my other Inquisitors.

So, Ishira convinced Minister Bellise to raise the Du Paraquettes to lordship. Therefore, the death contract was annulled on Josie. Then she found Jimmy's special ram and returned him to Redcliffe village. But back in Skyhold, when Ishira went to see Sera for smooches, guess who's in her room? Khim! That creeper is doing it in this run too! I think there should be a restraining order on this guy... Plus arrows, bees, wasps, hornets and bombs...

Help me remember folks....what is the best option for the family in the Alienage that is getting ready to leave? You can do nothing and they head for Ostager; you can give them 3 silvers to head for Highever; or you can give them 10 silvers to stay in Denerim. I did number 2, thinking that Ostager was a dead end and they might end up shipped to Tevinter if they stayed in Denerim. Is there any resolution to this or is their fate unknown?
 
Also, Daria told the two children running around the wonderful tale of Tathas, a roguish elf who stole back what evil humans stole from her, only to mysteriously disappear afterwards.
 
Back to Daria's adventure. After exploring the Korcari Wilds and killing all manner of darkspawn critters, she and the other recruits, escorted by Alistair, finally found the location of the Grey Warden cache. Except, the chest was empty.  A curious young woman had a few things to say about that. Alistair took an immediate dislike to her, and didn't trust her for a second. Daria was a bit more open-minded (and with over 30 cunning, got an extra line of dialogue available when speaking with Flemeth. )

Treaties in hand, they headed back to camp to begin the joining ritual.

Unfortunately, Daria was the only surviver. Afterwards, she was issued her very own set of Grey Warden armor, scout class, and given her first assignment: light the tower beacon so Loghain and his men know when to join the battle.

Whee!! I can now do spoilers! Now, what do I want to spoil? Hmmm I mean this whole thread is kinda a spoiler in and of itself. I guess spoilers are specifics? 

 

I wandered around to get my final rock stand to build me tower, ended up getting lost for a VERY long time in the Western something or other. Walked through a greenish cloud, that wasn't fun! Had to fight Darkspawn almost blind, The screen look reminded me of when MMO's try to simulate being hammered but green. But THEN, after running away from a dragon I wasn't ready to fight ... out over the horizon, this massive compound with spikes popping out.

 

It was a good ways off I was ready to log but DANG IT, curiously killed the Inquisitor. Well, pulled him, anyways. So off I went with my merry band of Cass, Var Man and Sir Blackwell (dudes voice should be in GOT somewhere). Came across an force field, dropped it and before you know it, Bobs Ya Uncle, and there I was popping up the water well. With my merry band. Of course Var Man started ribbing Cass, I told them both to shut up because HELLO, we just snuck into huge fort!

 

Stealth = VAR MAN BE QUIET! 

 

And then lots and lots of Ninja fighting, me mage the puller. Some rather nice loot off the boss mage. Had no clue

this was a keep battle! Like, I got to keep the fort. For my very own! What I LOVED was how much the fort changed once I hung me flag. I have to admit, that will be one of my fav gaming moments. Out in the middle of nowhere, ugly fort transformed into the long sweeping banners of the Inquisition, the lion's head being erected, a Capt being assigned to that keep- that whole chat, down to all the free food at the front gate. It was rather epic.

That's the Helm of Drasca isn't it? It's his hat? I think not. Unless there's a schematic of a hat with the same design. I put it on Cass though and she looks fine in it. Unless that helm clips in cutscenes.

 

Was running towards a Rift in EG but Inq was on a ledge. Knowing the party somestimes get stuck, I backtracked. Lo and behold, a templar behemoth had spawned in a place where it was empty before. Just as I was about to attack it, a great bear showed up so I decided to let them slug it out. But because I had target focus on the behemoth, it tried instead to whack the Inq, ignoring the great bear that was swiping, growling and jumping at it.

 

The Inq led them on a merry-go-round. The behemoth was like a pig on the scent of truffles and stubbornly chased the Inq. Growl, snap,snap. The bear was hardly making a dent. It finally became frustrated and vanished behind some rocks. Pity. The party set to and the behemoth didn't have a leg to stand on in 10 secs flat.

In terms of plot spoilers, in this sub-forum we generally only use spoiler tags close to release. Most people in this thread have played all the games multiple times over. Mostly this late after release we just use spoiler tags to hide large amounts of screenshots so the thread doesn't get too cluttered.

I've never taken the egg to Halamsharal (or anywhere, really).  And I always turn hats off.  Does this hat show up if you turn helmets off?  I always turn helmets off since they are by and large so darn ugly in this game.  If so, that's horrible.  Ugh!

The Douche-quisitor reigns. 

 

Over the weekend, I went to Halamshiral. I took Cassandra, Vivienne and Dorian with me. It was the fastest run-through of Wicked Eyes + Wicked Hearts that I have ever done. I've always picked up all the statuettes, listened to all of the scandalous secrets, everything. This time it was a man with a plan. Basically, "OUTTA THE WAY, GOTTA KILL CELENE AND DANCE WITH DORIAN AND THAT'S IT!"

 

Killing Celene was interesting! I've never fought Florienne before, but I did kill her before she could kill Celene in a different playthrough.

I also judge the box. End table for orphans!  

 

I put Gaspard in charge, now Blackwall, Solas, and Varric are all out for my blood. *inhales deeply* Ahhhhh, sweet, sweet, tears of those that hate the Douche-quisitor. 

 

Some sister showed up asking for someone in Skyhold to be Divine. I told her to beat it, but I fully plan on murderous Leiliana becoming Divine.

Yeah... It's a cutscene and helmets are always off in cutscenes, anyway. I have no clue why they decided he should be wearing that...

 

So finally I had Xoana meet Hawke. Street Hawke was my only male Hawke (I just don't like the VA) and was an attempt at a self-instert, so this is supposed to look like me. He still looks way "manlier" than I ever have, especially because my body shape is closer to that of an elf than to Hawke's super-biceps.

If Solas has to wear a hat to the party, I would've preferred him to wear cowl of the overseer. It doesn't have the face guard, but matches with the dress uniform too

That would have been a very good choice. Again, if they felt the need to bother.

I have used the Overlord Schematic to make my own versions of the Helm of Drasca, and it does clip on a couple of other companions. Mainly Blackwall and Varric, to a degree. On most females, it looks like their head is swimming in it. Stats are nice though. Style often takes precedence over practicality, when it comes to headwear. Primarily because I do generally leave the "Helmets On". So lots of Mage hoods, Helm of the Inquisitor for Cass, and the "cowboy hat" for Dorian and Varric. Cole, Viv and Blackwall, keep their starting helms. They don't seem quite right without them...well, to me. Occasionally I like using the Orlesian Masks, from WE&WH's, on both Sera and some of my female Inquisitors.
