Giants must have keen sense of smell. Inq was all settled to watch a slug out between giant and red lyrium smugglers, a very good distance away, but the blurball ignored those guys and headed for the Inq. Annoyed, she headed further away until the giant lost interest. With the giant no longer in the smugglers' vicinity, she went back and flatten their butts, thereby gathering the last clue for Cullen without any fuss.

Went to Emprise dul Lion. Out of curiosity, Inq examined a pot over a cook fire. It was full of stew but she supposed it would be cold and still but to her surprise, it was boiling and bubbling away.

I had something weird happen. I took my Babyface Qunari to the Fade for Here Lies the Abyss and during the boss fight with the nightmare demon, I had him to 75% health and the cutscene for after the fight already triggered.

Anyway, Baby Adaar also captured the Keep in Western Approach and found the missing Seekers with Cassandra.

I've noticed boss fights end abruptly quite a few times, with sizeable chunks of health remaining. Not sure about 75% but easily 20%. The Nightmare is one. Also the Envy Demon and Corypheus himself.

"Livius, what have I told you you about attempting a forward roll in the middle of your monologue? It's never going to work out well. You end up flat on your back every time, then you just have to stagger off and hope your lackeys can deal with your mess!"

If anything the nightmare demon knew it was beat and so gave up. :P

I like when the infected giants fly into the air and crash land dead on arrival. Unless the loot gets bugged....then it's not so funny.

In three playthroughs, I've never managed to deplete the Red Lyrium dragon's health completely. I'd actually started assuming that was a feature.

I beat Dragon Age: Origins for the first time on PC.

Killing Arl Rendon Howe never stops being satisfying on a Human Noble. The fight with Ser Cauthrien however quickly wiped away my feels due to the frustration I faced in fighting her. My party kept dying after Wynne went down, and after 8 loses against her I ended up having to pull her and her adds into a small room to pick them all off one by one.

To secure Anora's vote in the Landsmeet I promised to help her win the crown if she married Alistair. I decided to finish the Blackstone Irregular sidequests in the meantime and by killing Taoren I allow the Irregulars to remain as they where under Raonar. I then killed then Tevinter Slaver for proof I'll never use against Loghain, yippy.

I won the Landsmeet with the help of Anora, Arl Wulff, Bann Sighard, Bann Alfstanna, and the father of the boy you rescue in Trial of the Crows.  After Loghian was executed by Alistair, Anora predictably broke off her marriage to Alistair. Her role in defeating her father accomplished, I made the Hardened Alistair King and sole ruler.

I performed the Dark Ritual and was treated to another new cut-scene with the Morrigan Restoration Mod. Eventually My Human Noble slew the Archdemon and the game ended with him becoming Chancellor.

After literal months of agonizing, I've made up my mind on (most) of DAO's choices in this new beginning for my canon storyline.

That is, to do the DR and go through the eluvian with Morrigan.

I do have my issues with the morality in it, but the following games will include Hawke's death and Solavellan. Three games in a row with nobody getting a happy ending is too much for me.

The other day I saw a Hyena jump after a Fennec in the Western Approach. it missed hilariously and fell into the canyon where the water and the cave are. I saw a big health number, like 35000, floating up so I thought it was dead. As I headed down the ladders into the canyon, it leapt at my Inquisitor and one-shotted her! It was promoted and still had over 12000 health left! :D

He does. Even the Quizquizition guy has a creepy voice... I'm not happy Khim is stalking Sera in Ishira's run. Shiny would be like, "Hey! What are you doing in my girlfriend's room?!" Bastard...

I've noticed that in Xoana's game he seems to be stalking Elan Ve'mal. Every time Xoana goes to pick herbs he's standing there right next to poor Elan not saying anything... Maybe he has a thing for elves...

Suledin Keep

The first giant and its keepers were easy. Taken by surprise when the Inq threw the Rift that trapped them, they stood no chance. Now there was this second giant. Unlike the first giant, red templar archers and guard were scattered over a wide area. After a hurried conference, it was decided to take them from the storage room behind them. This they did via a side corridor that wound round the danger zone and ended at the broken storage room.

When all was ready, one of the archers was chain-grappled and pulled in. His shout alerted his companions and the giant. All of which stomped and ran in. As soon as they were near, the Inq launched into a whirlwind, Varric threw elemental mines and poison, Cass knocked down the guards and Dorian held in them in a lightning cage, spirit bombing at will.

The archers and a guard went down quickly. The giant less so. Cass concentrated on the giant while the Inq went after the remaining guard. The guard was stubborn but could not hold out against the Inq. She turned to see the giant angrily lashing out at Dorian. It was its last for Dorian lashed out with fire. With a groan, it collapsed against one of the pillars. Brushing at his coat fussily, Dorian said, "I do hope that's the last of them. They are rather whiffy you know."

Cass : Dorian...

Dorian : Now, now, you don't have to thank me for taking the brunt of it.

Varric : You might want to rephrase that, Sparkler.

Dorian : Why? What's .....

WHUMP!!!!  (guess what happened) :D

On to Suledin Keep they went. Varric decided to do some exploring on his own. Unfortunately, he was accidentally trapped beneath the Keep.

Spoiler

When Cass went to look for him, she tripped and fell into the same cavern. In this same manner, both Dorian and the Inq found themselves in the same predicament. They were all none too pleased with Varric. With a disgruntled snort at the dwarf, Cass made sure to stand a distance from him once they made it back to the surface.

Found a couple new things in the Arbor Wilds in my search for more stormheart.  The first was this guy praying.  I never found him before, and getting 150 influence by completing the prayer was welcome.

Near where Leliana is, behind a wooden barricade I don't remember seeing before, was a camp with a few red templars and sentinels, as well as this loot chest.  I wonder what it sells for.

I'm taking a break from Maya's run for a while. Needed a change of scenery, apart from the OOB areas. ;)

I stumbled across "Life is Strange" and gave it a try. I'm surprised that I'm liking it -- I haven't played a point-and-click adventure since Day of the Tentacle.

It has a tragic flaw, unfortunately: the dialogue is cringeworthy, and 90% of the game content is conveyed as dialogue. The VA delivery is excellent (one of the main characters is voiced by Ashly Burch), but the writing tries so hard to sound like how "real" high school seniors in Oregon would talk that it becomes self-parody. Not sure if it is a translation issue (developers are in France) or just lack of an editor with some self control.

But the story, mood, puzzles and choices-with-consequences more than make up for that flaw. Several times I've had to pause the game and really think about which choice makes the most sense for Max, the character. There are some tough choices, and the consequences are logical and natural.

The overall vibe is very soothing and mellow. I'm liking that too. I'm only on Episode 2, but so far I've been able to make non-violent choices. Might be able to do a non-violent run, we'll see. That would be a change!

*snip*

I picture he and Elan Ve'mal are an item when I see him hanging out with her in the garden a lot during previous runs. But when it came to Sera recently, I'm like, "Are you kidding me?!"

A lot of folk in the Sera thread were really enjoying that last year. I did mean to give it a go...

Back on topic, another dialogue variation that was new to me due to playing the game in a weird order:

I discovered the reason why people hate Dalish elves: Halla. I spent twenty minutes running after that stupid golden Halla who refused to go back to the Dalish camp. At least Druffalo Bill in the Hinterlands sort of follows you, but this Halla is so annoying.

Haha, I -just- did that quest. And this time, she actually cooperated quite nicely. Just one beeline veering to the left was necessary.

He scoots in like the rabbit in that story about a girl named Alice and exclaims, "I'm late! I'm late! I'm late for a very important da- ...er, milestone."

Greetings one and all, old friends and new. I am here to mark the occasion of this beautiful thread surpassing my wildest expectations and reaching five hundred pages and beyond.

I love that many of you are still playing the DA games and still enjoying talking about them. For my part, I confess that I had taken a break from the DA 'verse some time ago to try my hand at other things -- Fallout 4, Far Cry Primal, and The Division, to name a few. Even a ME trilogy run.

Rest assured, I have paid the price for my straying from the path. My good friend, my entertainer, my PC, has transcended mortal existence and been re-incarnated as a doorstop.

Financially speaking, it is not viable nor is it a priority, to resurrect the old beast, and so I am gameless for the time being, and posting from my phone.

Congratulations to everyone who has posted here, from the beginning until now, on making this thread what it is and, from the bottom of my heart, a sincere thank you for sharing!

Wait, are you talking about at the end? The lyrium dragon is taken down to half health by Morrigan or Mythal's dragon, then Inqui and squad do the rest until the cutscene triggers. There's usually a little bit of health left on the bar, from what I recall, maybe something like "___" this much.

I've noticed that in Xoana's game he seems to be stalking Elan Ve'mal. Every time Xoana goes to pick herbs he's standing there right next to poor Elan not saying anything... Maybe he has a thing for elves...

That elf (Elan) is totally psycho (at least according to her war table request) so Khim is probably planning how to not tick her off. I sure wish there was a way to kick her out and bring back Adan.

:o Life is Strange takes place in Oregon?! Now I'm definitely gonna have to get it next time Steam puts it on sale.
