Congratulations to everyone who has posted here, from the beginning until now, on making this thread what it is and, from the bottom of my heart, a sincere thank you for sharing!

Right back at you! So glad to hear from you. Sorry about your PC doorstopping, though.

Now that I've got my taxes dealt with (yay!), I'm finally able to devote some time to my writing again. As such, I've been working away on the eighteenth chapter of The Grey Path, my Origins novelization. Bit of a slower chapter this time around, with a focus on some Game of Thrones-style scheming on the part of the villains, though Leliana and the Warden will have some nice moments between them as well. Might post a snippet here once I have something substantial to show.

 Even a ME trilogy run.

What? You didn't post your playthrough in the thread? Shame, shame, shame. Ah what the heck. Another one for the road. Shame.

For me I got a ps4 and the game of the year edition for DAI. I've even posted screenshots.

A lot of folk in the Sera thread were really enjoying that last year. I did mean to give it a go...

Back on topic, another dialogue variation that was new to me due to playing the game in a weird order:

Spoiler

I get that version of the talk whenever I avoid the Fallout Mire until I get to Skyhold and close the Sea Rift in Crest wood.

Went to Forbbiden Oasis. While looking through the oruculum, I saw this interesting scene for the first time. Venatori set upon by hyenas. Much as I entertained the hope that they would all go tumbling off, it didn't happen. They're not scripted to fall. You can chain-grappled and kicked, something would happen to make the mob go flying over a ridge or a rampart but in no way would they ever fall off a cliff.  Sad.

Spoiler

I cherished fond memories of punching and pushing mobs off in the Star Wars Dark Forces and Jedi Knight games. I was highly intrigued and entertained when I realised I could punch imperial officers and troopers off ledges (after all, the game did start with the protag unrealistically punching a rancor and then grenading it to death) and watched them fall all the way down to the bottom of  a interesting map with a lot of depth, old as the graphics were. In JK, I pushed them off ledges, into rivers and hear them drown. :P

Back to FO. I've seen this boarded hole before in a post but have forgotten about it until I took it into my head to find the edges of the map. Came across it and thought the planks can be smashed. Found an interesting greatsword or was it broadsword. Of little use though, Inq and party too high level. Cass popped a comment : Are you all right? Uh, why not? I used the ladder to climb down and it's not that deep.

And for the first time, that wandering miner who wanted to get her wedding ring was spawned outside the map. I can't get to her.

Blatantly off topic post below...

I've been away from the DA universe! I've been replaying AC Unity.  Arno is still the prettiest assassin with the nicest clothes, despite the shortcomings of the game (I will say I didn't hate it, not like I hated AC III  I actually like the Nostradamus puzzles and stuff).  How is everyone?  Good, I hope.  :)

Happy Friday.  Happy Passover if you celebrate that!

I deleted a few Inquisitors from both the game and keep, who I don't love anymore. Having too many customized characters can get a little crowded. I didn't get rid of any favourites or those not finished their runs yet, don't worry.

Also, I created an elven male DW Rogue. Rikki Lavellan, future Assassin, following in Natalia's footsteps. He's currently at Haven and getting set to venture into the Hinterlands. He already gained Cassandra's initial trust, but is also smitten by a certain Lady Ambassador.

I only have 6, so no crowds for me yet. Not sure why the Keep thinks I have 13 and that my current IQ is my Adaar instead of my Cadash.

Love this post! Yep- fond memories of pick a stormie up, he starts screaming and hollering, toss him off a platform. Then later, wasn't that upgradeable to toss a bunch of them off? This was my favorite of Roller Coaster Tycoon. Build water parks wherein, peeps would get launched over massive spaces, through fire and such, screaming their little peeps hearts out. Now THAT is fun!

He scoots in like the rabbit in that story about a girl named Alice and exclaims, "I'm late! I'm late! I'm late for a very important da- ...er, milestone."

Greetings one and all, old friends and new. I am here to mark the occasion of this beautiful thread surpassing my wildest expectations and reaching five hundred pages and beyond.

I love that many of you are still playing the DA games and still enjoying talking about them. For my part, I confess that I had taken a break from the DA 'verse some time ago to try my hand at other things -- Fallout 4, Far Cry Primal, and The Division, to name a few. Even a ME trilogy run.

Rest assured, I have paid the price for my straying from the path. My good friend, my entertainer, my PC, has transcended mortal existence and been re-incarnated as a doorstop.

Financially speaking, it is not viable nor is it a priority, to resurrect the old beast, and so I am gameless for the time being, and posting from my phone.

Congratulations to everyone who has posted here, from the beginning until now, on making this thread what it is and, from the bottom of my heart, a sincere thank you for sharing!

Thank you for posting this! Its given me a place to share this first past through DAI, although Ive played the other two several times. I look forward to my posts. Great idea! What is ME?

Once she just started talking to me even though she was nowhere to be seen. I don't know if she was stuck in the wall or underground, but I got her quest so that was OK...

Well, after two days of juggling work with the Wicked Eyes & Wicked Hearts quest, I have to say- that was one of the best gaming experiences Ive ever had. This game, in spite of the bugs, just keeps getting better and better. I enjoyed so much the various devices they use to prolong that long "operation". I would call these types of events more of a "tale" or a one off "adventure". I loved the pomp and pretense, all the cultural twists and turns. My romance angle is with Josephine, this is my first play through with DAI, so how that begins to blossom in the midst of all that was rather lovely. So A++ on that adventure.

Spoiler

Good times, Fellow Inquisitors! It was weird seeing Morrigan again, I was all about her, my main romance, in the previous game, yes? I forget.

I had 16, so now it's down to 7. Most were Mages, because I loved playing as a Mage. Nymisa, my Necromancer, is the last Mage I'll play as. Rogue is more my jam now, especially DW.

Babyface Adaar is catching up with companions. Did some pranks with Sera, made Cole a spirit, made out with Dorian and got rid of assassins who were going to kill Josephine. Next up is Iron Bull's quest and then off to kill dragon number 3: the one in Western Approach. If I remember to bring ice staves instead of the fire ones my mages are carrying now...

Also, is The Decent doable on level 17?

The ps4 is fine. Might be buying another one shortly.

Instead of me scrolling back through that thread, you could always post that playthrough of yours. Better late than never.

Yes. :D There is a force upgrade for that.

DAI should not have invisible walls when it comes to high places. Having invisible walls makes players less cautious. :P  It also takes away the fear and fun factor. Walking, running, jumping near the edge, there's no fear of falling.  Imagine at Deep Descent*. Slamming down with the greatsword, shooting arrows  or casting a spell against a group near the edge over an abyss. BOOM! They fly up, over and down. Aaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!   Too bad the only deep water is at Storm Coast. They could really give us a ship battle when it comes to Iron Bulls's quest.

It shouldn't be a dreadnaught. Why use a hammer?  Why use an ungainly slow vessel against a fast ship? Why not get a small ship like a frigate with the maneuverability as the smuggler ship? The Inq have mages, let them cast a spell or something to hide the ship. Waylay the smuggler ship near the SC, board it with the Chargers and have a fight. Capture or kill. Toss the smugglers off their ship, hear them drown. Hello? More innovation in companion quest in future please not a lazy dumb illogical hammer in a badly planned quest.

Come on Bioware, stop being a nanny. An old game like Star Wars Dark Forces outdid you in this fun aspect and it's an old old game.

* You can jump off or fall off depending on situations in Deep Descent, otherwise there're always invisible walls. Jumping off to get a wheel or falling off because whirlwind swept Inq and mobs near the edge. I fell in one instance, not the damn mob. I was extremely annoyed because no matter what I do when I returned to the fray, that mob refused to fall even though it's stuck at the edge. When fighting those odd dwarves on the bridge, they will never go over although I was trying very hard to make it happen.

In this playthrough, I didn't talk to Dorian at all. After I defeated Cory, I made a save and talked with him. His dialogue was exactly the same as after arriving at Skyhold. I went back to the save and reloaded to start the trespasser dlc. There's Dorian as the ambasssador. Apparently he and my Inquisitor are friends. How did that happen? I don't remember the guy. When the gameplay started, I could select him as a companion. Why? I don't know who this guy is and I sure as heck never invited him to be part of the Inquisition. The same thing happens if you refuse to let him join.

At the end, with all together, I waited til he left to take a screenshot. This is what it should be. He should not be part of it. I wonder if BioWare overlooked that detail. Nothing against the character. Its just I never knew the guy and I sure as heck wouldn't remember him after 2 years.
Spoiler

I played the dlc with only Cassandra and Varric, and my Inquisitor as a warrior. Some parts I wanted to have a mage to dispel the barriers some of the baddies had. But I adapted and overcame.

After two days of dithering, Daria flipped a coin finally decided to go to Redcliffe first. Upon arriving, Alistair mentioned that he just happened to be the dead king's illegitimate half-brother. Sigh. And Daria was actually starting to like him.

Got the village ready for battle but since I had no healer on the team, there were a few casualties, including the mayor. Bummer....I like him. Lloyd somehow survived though.

Made it into the castle by using Teagan's secret decoder ring, only to find the arl's young son possessed by a demon. Double sigh. Daria thought it was too risky trying to get the Circle to help, especially if the rumors about demons there were even partly true. So, she agreed to let Jowan send Morrigan into the Fade using Isolde's life force. Al disapproved -10. Ugh. Morrigan was able to free Connor and he seemed to be no worse for wear afterwards.

I took a few screenshots but haven't gone through them yet. Daria flirted quite a bit with Teagan, possibly my first and only Warden to do so. I figure I need to get in as much face time as possible in the game where I like him to make up for his annoying self in Trespasser. :P

Also, why can't I ask Morrigan if she's willing to do the Fade thing? She gets all bent out of shape when you volunteer her, but the game doesn't let you ask her first. <_<

Staves? Who needs staves? All you need is Sera and Cole (replace with Tempest/Assassin Inquisitor according to preference). Level three Thousand Cuts plus Mark of Death for insurance. No dragon shall stand. ;)
