That's the name of that damn Achievement! (the get to Skyhold at lvl 5 or lower) And yes...that is exactly my plan now. Might even do it this week, since I don't think I will bother to continue with that PT, once I get that cheevo. I have seen you and a few others, comment on some of the best ways to accomplish the Trial of the Fool, but you are anyone else, want to chime in on a good plan of action to complete this? (Gonna be damn hard not to click on stuff...it's like a pavlov dog response, when it comes to clicking codex related stuff. )

I actually did those two achievements + Trial of the Lovers (the one with Fair-Weather Friends trial) in one pt. Then just trashed that pt

Not clicking on codex entries (I know your pain, but some things require sacrifices *great wisdom of achievement collector*), gaining power to progress through requisitions (save&reload in case of bad requisition), not doing side quests (recruiting also counts as side quest). Rogue with stealth should help you avoid unnecessary exp. Good gear also helps, even if it's made just with t1 materials. Someone else might come up with something more.

As always, running back and forth between multiple play throughs. So last night, I decided to go after one of the achievements with Petra Trevelyan (I always forget the damn names! :pinched: ) - the one where you turn on the trial for no supply caches, during In Hushed Whispers. Got through the quest, and went to check on the achievement. Doh! It didn't trigger.

I went through that quest 3 times and still no trophy. I went back to a previous save before reaching Redcliffe. I turned on the trial, did the quest and got the trophy. So before reaching Redcliffe, turn on the trial.

Before the trials existed, I got to Skyhold at level 6. That was during my speedrun.

The trial isn't that hard. I played as an archer. Used stealth to avoid any fights. Setup all the camps in the Hinterlands. Closed a few rifts and acquired a few agents. I ended up at Skyhold just as I reached level 5.

So not too long ago I took a reservation for a tour for someone whose last name was Weisshaupt.  I had to stop myself from giggling like the nerd I am.  To be fair, it was spelled differently.

Oh...and a couple of pics of Petra from last nights attempt at getting that stupid achievement.

Being super cereal about my companions accompanying Petra on a visit to Redcliffe Castle.

And Dorian and Petra being surprised by the King and Queen of Fereldan. Sure, Fiona. You and your masses can come and shack up with us Inquisition outcasts. *pulls a raspberry at Anora and Alistair* (j/k...she's too diplo for that ;) )

I just did the trials of the lovers and the fool together with Xoana. Actually was able to rescue the playthrough perfectly well afterwards, and as I've been showing, I've seen a few dialogue variations that I might not otherwise have seen.

I'd agree about good weapons and armour. I did quite a bit of loot farming and Iron collecting at Haven, combined with trips to the Black Emporium to get enough T1 materials to craft T3/T4 schematics for my team. That made it not too tough, even on nightmare.

Don't recruit Bull and Blackwall before Skyhold (I got away with Sera and Viv). Get power by fulfilling requisitions. Save before speaking to the requisitions officer and reload until you get one that doesn't involve having to kill mooks. Also don't pay too much attention to what people said in the threads made just after Trespasser came out. Some people seem to have thought you had to get to Skyhold before level 5 and were advocating some excessive stuff, when actually it's at level 5 or lower, so before you hit level 6. I managed it pretty easily.

I should say that I did Champions of the Just and didn't go anywhere near Haven, so YMMV if you're doing Trial of he Magician too.

You can swap Dorian's outfit in Redcliffe castle? I didn't know...

I remember I changed his staff when he and Inky time travelled to future Redcliffe during a previous run, but not his armour.

Finished taking care of the demon problem on the exhalted plains and saved Celine's troops on the other side of the river, so now both armies had their demon problem taken care of.  Headed back to Skyhold and played some Wicked Grace and then did some pranks with Sera.  Will probably shutdown some Red Templars on the storm coast next or head to the Emerald Graves.  Havn't decided yet but both have red templar stuff.

It's been a while since I did IHW but I try to remember to take some good gear for Dorian to change into once we're booted into the future. Actually, I think the last time I did that quest was for the Trespasser achievement (no supply caches), so I definitely needed the good gear. :P

Nice character design. All the human females I see look like the default head with different hair, but Petra definitely stands out. Kind of reminds me of Cate Blanchett.

Just like @Melbella said, you can come prepared, so to speak. ;)

I usually make a staff and armor for him, before I start IHW. And again, like Melbella, I was trying for the no supply cache achievement, so I wanted to make sure he had something better (since you can't pre-equip him with Regen potions and/or healing mists).

Progressed some more in the Frostback Basin :)

Freya did some arena fighting and helped out around Stone-Bear hold. In return, she could get to a mysterious island...

Spoiler

Freya also learned some funny bits about Scout Harding. She then returned to the Professor to tell him what she learned on the island, which ultimately led them to some ancient ruins connected to the old Inquisitor.

Spoiler

Before following Ameridan's trail, Freya took care of some other things in the basin, like looking for one of the Inquisition's Scouts...

Spoiler

Freya then activated several of the trail markers which eventually took down the giant wall of ice that previously prevented them from entering an ancient Tevinter fortress. Together with their new Avvar allies they were ready for the assault.

Spoiler

On a side note, I really liked the sidequest with Grandin and Jace. So sad :( Oh, and I did not kill the Nox Morta. I couldn't do it ^_^

I also made some more scenery screenshots, but I still have to look over them and pick the ones I like most, so those will follow maybe later today or tomorrow.

The Douche-quisitor rides again.

We went to the shrine of the Dumat, and I'm pretty much a dum-dum because this is my 5th playthrough and this is my second time being there. Last playthrough I managed to weaken Samson's armor by going there, this time I killed Calpernia's Tevinter Magister. I had no idea what I was doing my first 3 playthroughs, apparently.

Leiliana was pretty angry that I killed the Magister. Hey, I'm the Douche-quisitor. Don't question me. So I took her to her shrine-thingy and she killed a Chantry sister there with no regrets. She's going to make one magnificent, murderous Divine.

I crafted some awesome armor for me, Vivienne and Cassandra, and upgraded all of my weapons before heading to the emerald graves. I closed all the rifts there and settled all the camps, which finally brought me up to 40 power to head to the Arbor Wilds. I fought my way through to the temple of mythal, I even fought those scary red templars with red skulls on them that meant certain death. In all 4 of my previous playthroughs, I just ran through like a chicken and never fought them. Now I realize that's where the Sentinel Shadows start attacking you.

I brought Solas with me so he could disapprove some more, I can't wait.

It got pretty late, so I quit after I got into the temple. But I fully plan on running after Calpernia and not doing the rituals so I can kill all the Sentinels. :D

The facial features and hair were a dead giveaway that it's modded.  :D  People who made mods are definitely very creative and talented. :)

Despite the limitations of the DAI CC, it is still an improvement over the previous DA games though. I got my tan narrow-face boyish plain unvarnished inquisitor.    I think it's one of the best one I've seen so far in all the games I've played. EVE Online doesn't count since I never played it; I only fiddled with the CC which is quite good.

Spoiler

I was trying to create a gothic April Ryan (from another game, I couldn't find a mole for her beauty mark. There's only tattoos, scars. I forgot about adjusting the ears too  ). Can't say I was successful.

On DAI, Inq went to Adamant, left Loghain behind in the Fade and returned safely with Hawke. Much to her friends' dismay, especially Solas, she gave the wardens another chance. He was practically sputtering with outrage when she had a word with him. Varric's Bianca turned up and the Inq had to help her clean up her mess. The dwarf's ungrateful parting words were totally out of place though the Inq could see she had great affection (illegal) for Varric.

That said, the unpleasant business of passing judgement on miscreants was tiring. Cullen had a great idea for relaxing, killing two birds with one stone, by also securing his claim on the Inquisitor. :P

I make him the best Tier 3 armor and staff with blade and grip that I can.  It's not much but anything is better than what he starts with.

I forgot to mention that I'm still trying to schmooze Iron Bull. I even went to the Hinterlands and rode the horse around the courses, and nothing.

He just doesn't want to give me the quest so I can kill his Charges, I just know it!!!!

Let's see what did I do, well started a new game to get the Inquisitor achievement. Mage/Knight Enchanter my favorite combo. Completely all the quests at Haven, went to the Hinterlands and talked to Mother Giselle, closed all the rifts around the Crossroads and took out the mages and the templars. Almost ready to go to Val Royeaux.

After dragging myself away from goose cam  Daria made the acquaintance of a friendly talking oak tree. Who spoke in rhymes. He was hoping someone would help him find his lost acorn (why would he have only one???) and Daria said she would since he (it?) would then help her get past the mystical barrier in the forest keeping her away from the werewolf hidey hole.

Turns out a crazy mage hermit had stolen it...not sure why. He also had a funny way of talking, but eventually Daria was able to trade for the acorn, as well as a couple other useful items (yay for another codex entry!) She returned the acorn to the oak tree and finally was able to get into the heart of the forest. Only to be once again accosted by Swiftrunner and his buddies. She and her team were beating them handily when out of nowhere came a white wolf with strange branch-like growths on its body. Hmmm. The white wolf pinned her to the ground, allowing the werewolves to escape back to their hideout, and then it followed after them. After recovering from having the wind knocked out of her, she wondered why the wolf didn't attack further. Something else must be going on.....

Since I chose to complete almost 90% of the zones before Adamant, I'm now somewhat out of sync with the old patterns in which I complete previous PTs. :D  I've to remember to hold off from triggering the Arbor Wilds until everyone has nothing to say. I must have used the secret service too often because I don't have the option to use diplomacy to release Blackwall. Right now, I think it's all mostly cutscenes and war table so it's a matter of waiting on the WT.

So I jumped to ME1. I actually began to replay ME2 but have no imports and was dismayed that I couldn't adjust some other details. The interactive replay only offered the major choices. I also forgot how to use the Gibb Editor  :P  so I'm not going to try that. I thought why not just replay ME1? It'll drag in some parts (that crabby lizard rubber ball Mako) but I thought replaying might be fun.

The graphics are dated but seems sharper / detailed (probably an illusion but I'll take it :P) , likely because I'm using a high end graphic card. I forgot all about the hacking and that medigel for everything.   I also forgot about the combat cover. You know what? I think it's better than the ME3 combat cover system. I can crouch with a key. Once you have a weapon in your hand, you auto cover once you're behind something. It's not the one key for everything in ME3 where you get glued when you don't want to.

And oh yeah, the CC is terrible.

Got Dorian's quest done and fought the dragon in the Western Approach so I'm pretty much done there too. I'll start Here Lies the Abyss later and try to have that done by tomorrow. Also sealed the romance in with Cassandra so...yay! Also I love playing the Fallow Mire with every playthrough of this game. I feel like it has a good atmosphere and as someone who loves rainy weather that also helps too. I only wish there was just a little more to it, like maybe a dragon fight or something.
