The first dragon, for Bull's love. (The stylish courtsip is very important.)
And one-two drink to the dragon
Well today I fixed most of Redcliff's problems. Stopped the undead, killed the demon and both Connor and Isolde are still alive. In all honesty I think there should have been some negative consequence if you leave for the tower to go fetch Irving while Connor is still possessed. Maybe Teagan should have died or something. It is too easy to get the optimal outcome for this quest. Anyway Duran is off to go get an urn that will might save the Arl.
Also an observation, both Redcliffe and Haven are in both DAO and DAI. Now I know the games were released 5 years apart and DAI uses a different engine and they can put in more details etc.. into the environment but why do both Redcliffe and Haven have not only completely different architecture but different geography as well? DAI redcliffe isn't laid out anything like DAO Redcliffe, the buildings look nothing alike and even the chantry is in a completely different location. Haven is even more unrecognizable.
On a side note, Uncharted 4 is keeping me very occupied. I admit I'm getting burned out with DAI. I'll still finish Nymisa's run, but after that, I'm setting it down.
Yeah, I don't play the game but I watch streaming. I can tell it's good. On a side note, it's pretty annoying to watch someone go round and round in circles, not knowing where to go. More so when that circle is pretty tiny. The most obvious answer is if you're told you can't go against the flow, then you go with the flow. That was what I thought so I typed in chat to suggest it as a possible path out after ten minutes of fruitless merry-go-round.
The moderator cut me off immediately, citing no tips. I
my head off. It's one thing to stream gameplay and it's another thing to bore the audience watching you futilely go round and round. A prudent streamer knows when it's time to quit. When to stop wasting people's time. People drop in to get an idea of how the gameplay is for a game and discuss. Suggestions should be welcomed when streamers find themselves well and truly stuck in the game.
I stopped watching that person's stream since it's obviously a waste of my time. I'm sticking to those streamers who interact with their audience (friendly, likes to joke), open to opinions / suggestions and answer questions about the game they're playing. I know for a fact, the good ones get good returns when the audience appreciate the effort the streamers put in. How? Because while watching a stream earlier, someone donated more than US$1000 to that streamer.
So, after totally clearing the Hinterlands to the exclusion of near all else, Mara had finally decided that if it were up to her, they would not ignore crazy time magic antics and Tevinter alliances. Mara went to go discuss this with the Advisors. Cassandra didn't disagree, Lelliana was all for it but Cullen?
Won't allow it, huh?! Talk about resentment overload, Mara definitely made a face. Only taken down a peg by the fact that he then stated he won't order Mara to do anything one way or the other. Thanks for remembering she is a person, Cullen.
Mara brought Varric and Sera along for such major business. Rogue Club all the way! (Odd being my own tank, Sera and Varric being archers, but we managed.) Mara held her own pretty well with Alexius.
Alexius didn't like that so he pulled out an amulet, and one crazy spiral later, Dorian tells Mara they're in the future. Wow, Mara hadn't been this confused since she'd woke up after the Conclave to have been accused of being a mass murderer. Nothing to do but push forward, and they eventually found Varric and Sera. They were not doing so well. Things had gotten really bad in the future.
Varric was surprisingly or unsurprisngly upbeat. Still, he seemed so strongly glad to see her. Mara's heart hurt; she even regretted teasing Sera as soon as she'd done it. Future Sera was different; future Sera had been more than hurt, she'd seen darkness turn to oblivion. They even saw Leliana, a few tubs of beauty cream short; she was definitely not upbeat. With the goal to reach Alexius near at hand, the five of them battled through this dark future. (I liked the angle I got on this, all out weapons pulled too.)
When they reached Alexius, Mara found him uninterested in battle. Leliana erm...fixed that...
All laid waste, Dorian was confident he could get us right back to the past? present? Just one hour was needed. But then there was a roar outside. Sera looked at Varric; something passed between them. It was certainly an expression Mara had never thought she'd see, let alone on Sera's scoffing countenance. Resolute acceptance? Mara was confused, everything was going so fast. The two nodded at each other before turning to go face "The Elder One". It seemed obvious they would die, and Mara was darned if she was going to leave them to this fate but they told her to stay. To stop it, to stop all of it from happening. What could she do? She promised them. She promised them she'd try.
Nevertheless, a short time later, Mara beheld the nightmare of her friends bodies being thrown through a door and Leliana being captured before...Another spiral later, Mara was in front of Alexius again and told him he'd lost. He quickly surrendered.
Events continued on their speedy route at Queen Anora marched in and ordered the mages and their shady dealings to exit the premises. Mara had almost forgotten about them to be honest. The nightmare was still burned on her retinas. Mara was all over the place emotionally, none of it was good stuff. What she did know was Fiona's leadership had led to a lot of bad choices, obviously, and when it came time to voice what she would do with them, she conscripted them to remove Fiona from power over her charges.
Upon returning the Haven, all of the Advisors seemed upset with her choice, especially Leliana. Cassandra backed her up. Glad her trust in the woman was holding up. Mara couldn't be mad at Leliana after what she'd just seen, but she gave her reasoning all the same.
Cullen called for the discussion to move to the War Room. Cullen turned to her with a smile and asked her to Join them. That smile was...nice. Add that feeling to the rest of the pile, Mara.
---
All in all, Mara is doing a lot of growing up in a very short amount of time. She's dragging her feet on closing the Breach although she should feel super motivated to get the act over with. She's feeling really overwhelmed right now. She's had to make decisions she didn't feel she was licenced to make, feels like an entire future hangs on her decisions... Don't they understand she's a happily selfish noble girl of 20? She may do a thorough sweep of the Storm Coast before following through closing the breach with help from the mages just to walk some sense into her feelings.

Now this is very troubling. I can't open DAI, either from the taskbar or the program menu. I click, the game starts to open, then the window disappears and task manager says no programs are running. Origin won't open either. AVG just updated, but I can't see why that would have any effect. I don't even know where to start to fix this. Uh, oh.
Edit: I just googled the problem and it looks like others have had the same issue with AVG. It's great to know I'm not alone, but not helpful because I don't know how to manipulate AVG to allow the game. Ack. OK, I can temporarily disable AVG and once the game is running, it stays running. I just have to remember to check that AVG is on before I go online. I can't see how this could possibly go wrong :/
Nymisa, Dorian, Bull and Sera killed the three high dragons in Emprise du Lion and Visominer in the Storm Coast. It was fun making the Hiervinal ice dragon explode when she died. Walking bomb is the best
Right now, the fearsome foursome are running around the Hissing Wastes uncovering Dwarven treasures, fighting Venatori and more of those blasted Red Templars. They also slaughtered a bunch of wyverns, lurkers and August rams for the Inquisition camp's BBQ buffet. No one will ever go hungry in this lonely desert.
On a side note, Uncharted 4 is keeping me very occupied. I admit I'm getting burned out with DAI. I'll still finish Nymisa's run, but after that, I'm setting it down.
You and my mother. She has already won Uncharted 4 and is on her second PT.
That must be a sight! There are some fights where Nathan Drake has to escape a Shoreline merc's grapple by kneeing him in the groin and then rifle butting him in the face. I just can't imagine my mom being "behind the wheel" on something like that. You and my mother. She has already won Uncharted 4 and is on her second PT.
This is why I could never be a streamer -- unless it's for comedic or ironic purposes. I don't get lost much, but I do waste time poking around in every nook and cranny looking for treasures. Not a completionist, but I figure that if the game strongly indicates going forward, but there is interesting stuff behind you, that's where the treasure is. I'm right more than I'm wrong. It's one thing to stream gameplay and it's another thing to bore the audience watching you futilely go round and round.

Also, I die a lot in fights. And during jumps. And slides. And rope swings. I think my restart from checkpoint stat is in the triple digits now. And I'm just starting Chapter 12.
Same, I mean I do use OBS to record stuff (Boss/Dragon fights, cut scenes etc) but I could never stream. I like to play in my own pace and if someone's watching (live) I feel so rushed. ![]()
I tried to twitch some Mutiplayer runs, but no one wanted to watch, so I droppped that idea.
(DAI Multiplayer would be one of the few things I would stream, you can't really get lost and people want to finish the runs fast)
oh, I just wanted to mention this as I totally cleared the Hinterlands in a short amount of time.
There are so many letters from dead people to other dead people. Also, I found a letter on a dead person in a cave that said "deliver me to my family." So, there I was expecting to walk up to an NPC. No. I hand delivered a death letter to someone's mailbox. Possibly the only mail box I've seen in the entire game, although I admit I haven't exactly been looking for them. Seriously?

Yeah, I like streamers, who engage with their audience. It gets people interested and want to play these games. The thing is you want to keep your audience interested and show the good stuff, but if you're running around in circles without a plan, that kills the engagement.
You and my mother. She has already won Uncharted 4 and is on her second PT.
Your mom is awesome. Props to her on playing a second run
Does she play other games aside from Uncharted?
I'm thinking of buying the Uncharted collection to replay the previous games on PS4.

Hmm.. I don't think it's no different from seeing Sera kicking Lord Tinkerbell (Harmond) in the groin. My mom happened to see that cutscene one time and just went, "Meh" and shrugged it off.
Hi, Ayla Lavellan here. I hijacked my earthling's account because every earthling in this house got in that loud rumbling contraption they call a car and went to get some funky thing called a hamburger. I wanted to talk to Cullen some more about himself, well us really but, my earthling won't let me do that until they ALL get back from having hamburgers. So instead I'll torment anyone who will read this until I can talk to Cullen and ask him what we should do about the Temple Of Dumat and Sampson's armor. I'm not sure I trust Dagna not to cheerfully blow up Skyhold trying to destroy red lyrium infused armor and, I know Cullen doesn't trust her.
Oh, I hear that loud rumbling thing, I guess my earthling is back so, I'd best post this and hid back in my cubbyhole in the SSD before I get caught.

I think it depends on the streamer's style? I watched someone play Doom, the entire game. Yes, I watched him play the entire game over two days. He wasn't doing a speed run, he was taking the trouble to look for secrets because the devs made it a upgrade requirement. And he did get stuck in places or stuck trying to get to secrets. But I wasn't bored or fed up because he was engaging the viewers, he was funny in his reactions and comments. He would ask the viewers for help; ok, help me out here, did I miss something? Can someone give me some tips / suggestions? He responded to questions; how's the game? Do you think this game feature works, etc? What do you think of game ABC?
The viewers feel they are participating with their input, moving the gameplay along. The banter and jokes flow. He was playing on nightmare difficulty and it was really fun to watch him. He's a very good FPS shooter. Reminds me of my old UT days but I'm a retired warrior now. ![]()
The other streamer whose appointed moderator cut me off? I'm surprised he has that number of audience but I put it down to his stream being English, the others were foreign due to time zones and many people are interested in Uncharted 4. He did answer some questions on other things but he's not as jovial as the streamers I follow / subscribed to. I'll call him a plodder.
After I dropped him, I went to see if anyone has cut a Unchartered 4 movie and someone has. Better the story than watch him play.

So today my dwarven warden went to Haven, slaughtered a crazy dragon cult, got a pouch of Andraste's ashes, returned to Redcliffe castle where the ashes woke up Eamon, Eamon gave me a nifty shield which I will probably equip on Alistair. Right now I am at Soldier's peak having an armor crisis. Was equipped with the blood dragon armor, which powered me through the entire Redcliffe arc where I had very little trouble but I just don't like how it looks. Now it looks better on dwarves than on other races but it still suffers in the looks department. Now I have a set of dwarven heavy chaimail armor which looks pretty good and got me through the earlier parts of the game, and thanks to the nifty magic storage box I have at soldier's peak I can level the armor to better tiers as I advance through the game. Now it doesn't have anything special statswise but it looks good damnit. I will ultimately end up using the Legion of the Dead armor but it will be a while before I can get my hands on that and I need something in the meantime.

Emma met this guy too. I always sell him all my junk since he's such an as$.
...
Haven't left the city yet....too busy running around Kirkwall at night getting ambushed. Emma is such a kind-hearted do-gooder it's hilarious. I think I've taken a single purple option so far (when talking to Anders about rescuing Karl) and it's killing me. I figure as time goes by and things in Kirkwall spin more and more out of control, purple will become a more common response.
Gosh, Fenris looks good. My first playthrough, I was Anders all the way and Fenris and I didn't get along, although I never managed the rival lock. 2nd playthrough, I went for him but then my Hawke was miffed when he left and rebounded to Anders. Fenris was locked as friend, and not always seeing him so angry really grew a soft spot for him in my little gamer heart. But I've already picked out my third playthrough as an angry male rogue Hawke that can actually land the execution blow on Anders (something I've not even let myself see on youtube.) Fenris and I are making it happen come 4th playthrough though. Are you going for him with Emma?

I know this feeling. I made the choice to have better looking armor with lower stats, because the best armor for my rogue inquisitor made her look completely ridiculous.

Me and my friend had the same problem. I can run you through the process of adding DAI to AVG's exceptions just like I did with her.

I haven't been doing anything in the DA 'verse recently because I found that I just needed a break from it. I'm sure I'll get back to Xoana's playthrough soon. I left her in the middle of storming Adamant...
I decided to have a go at Jade Empire, seeing as how Origin gave it to me for free and all. I must say that I'm rather enjoying it. I wasn't expecting to bump into this guy, though!

Thanks! I've been disabling AVG for 10 minutes right before I play because once the game is running it runs fine when AVG comes back up, but your way means one less step before I play.

My mother loves to kill things. The fact that she is a gamer is completely my fault - I had a PS1 that I kept in the living room and she went from watching to hogging my system. I had to remove it from the living room because I never got to use it! She started so innocently with Spyro the Dragon. She's worked her way up to tomb raiding, murder and general meyhem. She really has a thing for survival horror. She loves Silent Hill. Even owns the movie. She also is a huge Fallout fan. I think she likes the one in DC best, but don't quote me on that.
