Wow. And like, uninstall reinstall doesn't fix this?

But Alistair. Alistaiiiiirrrrr

I haven't uninstalled the game, but I've done repair a few times for other issues. Hasn't helped. It's bizarre because it only happens with Varric. It would almost make more sense if it was random.

Emma update:
Not much done today. Was going to go to Sundermount to find Zevran, but the game decided that I needed to do Merrill's quest instead and plopped her in my party as required. Well, fine. Found Zev first however; declined to flirt since there's really only one elf for Emma, even if he doesn't know it. Popped in to say hi to the Nexus Golem and sell it a bunch of junk. Then headed up top of Sundermount to find a demon. Or not, as it turned out, since it wasn't sealed in its creepy statue anymore. What's that, Keeper? You thought it would be a good idea to let it possess you? Brilliant! So, dead Keeper but no dead clan this time. On the way back down the mountain, Emma and team dropped by to tell Nuncio he was a duncio and, with Zevran's help, there's now also a bunch of dead Crows.

Next stop: The Wounded Coast

Aww. I was going to live precariously through your Zevran fling but Emma's heart stopped her.

Clint recruited Leliana in Lothering. After walking by a cage the group heard the prisoner say strange words.

That guy had to be a lunatic.

Clint didn't want to catch something and ignored him completely.

Then they met a dwarf and his son and saved them from Darkspawn. After some small talk the dwarf and his son went their way.

Later in camp they met them again and decided to stay close to Clint & Co.

Also a man named Levy Dryden appeared in the camp and asked for help.

Next stop: Warden's Keep

Ha! I thought I had posted this in this thread, but I posted it in the how the heck do you walk to the front gate of Skyhold thread.

Apologies to everyone here who saw this there first:

That reminds me, I've been meaning to ask. Is this where Dagna sleeps in the Undercroft? I guess she misses the Stone being all around her, but why the prison grate on top? You might have to click on the images to get the full size versions to see what I'm talking about. Second image is spycam vis Flycam.

Spoiler

Maybe if Samson became Dagna's science project after judging him, he'd end up in there? It's possible.

Like what Phoray said, Dagna sleepovers at Sera's, so it all turned to love for them in the end  ;)

Ran into an ambush on the way back to Redcliff. Nothing we couldn't handle. Seems someone from Liliana's past is after her. Got a lead on their whereabouts. Look into that when we can.

After reaching Redcliff, we find Irving and a handful of mages setup for the ritual for Conner. I am going into the fade myself. The other mages are still reeling from their ordeal in the tower and I don't trust Jowan or Morigan for this. It is likely a demon of desire behind this possession. Not a creature to be taken lightly. With the proper leverage, I may be able to get a little more out of this than just the boys freedom... If not, I will destroy this parasite. WELL.... hmm... "destroy" is maybe too strong a word. You can't really kill a spirit, demon or not, just reduce it to a wondering wisp, but I digress. Now, into the fade...

...the ritual was a success. In more ways than one. Conner is free and I have learned a few new tricks and gotten a power boost. Who says demons are useless. The Arl on the other hand is not doing so well. Without the demon to keep him alive, his vitals have begun falling again. Even Irving is at a lose for how to help him. In an act of desperation, which is becoming a rather common occurrence, I have agreed to go out in search of a mythical urn. I've never been the religious sort, but... If Eamon dies, I don't know of anyone else who would be capable of uniting the human lands. So let's hope the Chantrys stories aren't completely full of crap.

Side note.... caught Sten in the castle kitchens raiding the place of cookies and tiny cakes. Just what I need. Looking for something that probably doesn't exist with Qunari on a sugar high in tow. Oy...My head is already starting to hurt.

Out of the all the companions, Sera sure ended up with the poshiest posh sleep cubicle of them all. Wouldn't figure her for a girly girl, but there it is. :P

I think Viv was the intended for poshiest quarters, but they blew it. It's awful drafty up there, and the owls and bats gotta be a nuisance. Not to mention Gatsi hammering away at mosaic tiles.

Well, Valkyria Chronicles is really making me miss Inquisition!

Not that it's a bad game, far from it. It just takes a big mental adjustment. I sit down thinking I'm going to rip through a couple dozen episodes, but it turns out that a single battle takes me hours to complete. And that's by design, more-or-less. I'm sure I'm slower than average, as usual, but even a reasonably competent player would need at least an hour to complete a battle.

The story is pretty good, though. Every time I think I've got everything figured out, they throw in a twist. It's still kind of corny and the characters have a lot of tired stereotypes, but nothing's perfect.

Adaar took Iron Bull dragon hunting, he loved that. Kadeth impressed the Dalish and gained another elf in the Inquisition, Ayla Married Cullen and wanted a reception in the garden but, the Qunari ruined that idea. I suppose they are content to rest for the night now - hate irritated Inkies LOL.

Clint entered the Warden's Keep, there are undead everywhere.

Seems the Wardens used bloodmagic to bind demons.

Clint's so glad he isn't a mage....

Also he found a weird mirror surrounded by blood.

She knows how to use her contacts better than Viv does. I mean, she sends 3-4 mission's to the war table alone, and isn't that a book of "this is what I want" next to her room?

I think she is up there because she wants to lord over the entire main hall of skyhold like some kind of Empress on high.

The poshiest quarters and upscale balcony view belongs to the Inquisitor ;)

And eavesdrop on people's conversations down below too. I find it weird that if you don't recruit Vivienne, you can't put your own furniture at the spot she occupies. It remains empty.

Made our way to Denirum, Several people to track down. Leliana's stalker is here somewhere, there is a scholar who supposedly know the location of the sacred Urn, and Alistair wants to look for a "sister". Sister... yeah right. Why can't he just say he has a baby momma hiding here. He's a boob, but a useful one....

... Stalker was the first to get addressed. Can't be wondering around town checking every alleyway for mercs. Turned out to be a former lover over our resident bard. She was obnoxiously Orliasian. There was a bit of a back and forth, then the arrows and lightning bolts started flying. Wasn't much of a fight, but Leliana seems to have been hit hard by all this. Sent her with Wynne to the Gnawed Noble Tavern to get us some rooms for the night while we handle the rest of our business in town and hope not to attract too much attention....

.... Found Alistair's sister. Not what I expected. A money grubbing hag. He was very excited too. Not sure what he was expecting, but her only concern was how much money she could get out of him. He's been pretty quiet. I'm not really sure what to say him. Dealing with emotions is not my strong suit. I need to throw a fireball at something...

...and to top everything off, the scholar isn't  here. Found some goon squatting in his house pretending to be an "assistant". Got a lead at least. We'll head out in the morning... assuming this city is done handing out emotional gut punches. Many manful tears today.

If Viv isn't recruited she sneaks into Skyhold and mind-blasts all the furniture put in her spot off the balcony. The workers are so superstitious that after one or two blasts they absolutely refuse going near her spot. Then she just stands there, cackling quietly, waiting for her time to strike.

---

As in what I done did today (and yesterday): Herded Lavone, Chayim, Ramona and Baldur into the Deep Roads portion of Trespasser. I wish the cutscene dialog could be spread out a little bit more, or at least activated after the first mission. So much talking.

They all had varying levels of fun while getting to the Deep roads. But tomorrow they will all suffer, when the slow, frustrating and agonizing process of traveling through the Deep Roads begins.

Ugh

But I also have a question about the final boss of Trespasser.

Another slow night for Emma. I never paid much thought, but Act 3 is really short. All I have left are Best Served Cold and The Last Straw, plus the two DLC. So, now I am playing Legacy and just got past the first seal. Brought Carver, Varric, and Aveline since I have no romance option and I'd never brought her before. Aveline is impatient to get back to Kirkwall, says the place might fall apart without her if anything "big" happens. But of course, nothing big will happen without Hawke there.

I hate Best Served Cold, so I put it off as long as possible since I can only handle so much stupid at once. The only good thing about it is finding the Blade of Mercy for Fenris. Unless you rival him, and then he doesn't want it. <_<

So, my plan is:

Finish Legacy

Best Served Cold

Awiergan(?) scrolls 2 + 3 on Sundermount

MotA

The Last Straw

Then on to DAI once I get my world state updated. Let's see...what year is it? 9:36? 9:37? Has Rainier been outed yet or is he still in the Orlesian Army? My future quizzy is bored out of her head at the Ostwick Circle. "Why can't anything exciting ever happen here?"

Problems always seem to fix themselves when you ask about them :D. It seems to have been the damage output, since Varric the beast actually managed to fill his bar up once. Usually there isn't even a point in the bar, so I'm going to keep believing that Varric rigged the game and only he and Quizzy get to end the game with a fancy bang.

But thanks for the answer :D

---

The Deep Roads were finished with a minimum amount of tears. Although both Ramona and Baldur needed to turn off Walk Softly, since their guard damage simply wasn't enough to beat the fights between the crashes. Ugh.

Baldur went ahead and finished the game, deciding to save the bald homeless elf from himself and keeping his cushy position in a peace keeping organization. And being his girlfriends honor guard did also offer one or two perks as well.

One down, three to go.

Had a good nights rest at the Gnawed Noble Tavern. A hearty, if over priced, dinner. Been a while since I slept in a bed. Morrigan came creeping into my room in the wee hours of the morning. She gets more frisky by the day it seems. On the way out of Denirum, walked past a knight that was at Ostagar. He believed the wardens to be the cause of the Kings death. Wouldn't listen to anything I had to say about the matter. Insisted on a dual to the death. Was a pretty short fight. A mace can't help you when swinging at an arcane shield. And A metal suit won't protect you from someone throwing lightning bolts. I let him swing at me for a while, but... places to go and a magic Urn to find.

...Got to lake Calenhad looking for the Redcliff knights, but it became clear what happened to them shortly after arriving. More cultists waiting to ambush anyone asking about the Urn of Sacred Ashes. Took them out and headed for this "Haven". Bound to be more of these lunatics...

...Yep, more loons. Creepiest town I've ever been in. Found the scholar at least. He's a little worse for wear, but Wynne patched him up enough to move. He lead us to the temple where the Urn was said to be. Had to fight our way through dozens of these madmen only to find the upper reaches crawling with dragons. The mother of which was indeed a damned high dragon. This creature is what the cultists worshiped as a resurrected Andraste. Despite asking Sten not to draw the attention of the big scary monster, he rushes head long in screaming "Face me dragon!" I knew I shouldn't have let him eat all those damned cookies. We survive with several tooth marks and burns, but the Dragon had Sten's axe buried in it's head. Got several scales out of the climb. There was this smith in Denirum that claimed he could make some powerful armor with these.

Found a ghostly guardian and some annoying tests waiting inside the inner sanctum. We got the ashes and headed out. I can sense a mystical aura coming off the ashes. I've sensed similar auras off of Apprentices in the tower who had... mishaps with their studies. Was Andraste a mage? That part didn't make it into the chant... Oh well, back to Redcliff.

My Warden's, both kinda atheist, ended up becoming distinctly more flexible to the idea of Andraste and the Maker after witnessing the ashes function as promised.

But then again, Bioware is good at getting me. My first time as Inquisititor. I went from "I don't know?" To "I must be the chosen one!" And then... got my memories back in the Fade and totally felt the fool.

My internet was out for a few days for reasons beyond my control, and I couldn't play DA:I (needed to repair the files for some reason), so I dusted off DAO and did some stuff to compare to DA:I. Specifically, I replayed the mage origin with my female mage character and revisited Cullen. Then I took up romancing Alistair and I realised that as romances go, I prefer Commander Cullen to Warden Alistair.

Sorry, Alistair. Another ex-Templar has my heart now.... ;) :D

Then I rolled up a city elf female (which I had never played through before) and started romancing Zevran because, why not.

So that's what I've been doing in Thedas. Romancing people and taking notes comparing them. I am a minx, I know. ;)

Gwenyn has been busy in the Deep Roads. The Sha-Brytol gave them some trouble but were eventually vanquished, as was the Titan, Guardian, rock...thing? They left the Deep Roads and Valta behind with more questions than answers. Even Solas was unusually silent on the matter.

Perhaps he was still smarting from being judged by the Nug King
