I'd read that one has to flirt with Blackwall right off the bat or the romance won't start. But I totally didn't, and just flirted with him back at Haven and the romance started just fine at Skyhold. It wasn't until he says that "Warden's save the world" line (a pic can' give justice to the way he gives that line!) that my Mara felt a spark of attraction, so no sense for her to flirt with him before that point.
Romancing him a second time has been a tad nostalgic for me, since my last game was a Solasmance. *raspberry*
If you recruit him after Haven you need to take that flirt, otherwise the lock in option at Skyhold wont appear.
If you recruit him before going to Skyhold, you have a few more flirtatious options and only one is needed to be able to lock in at Skyhold.

As for what I did, I visited the Tower of Ishal with a few characters, just to get them ready if the DAO itch starts again. My good friend Mr.Ogre was as always, glad to see me.
And some DA2 stuff. Just because.
Gwen has dealt with the Arbor Wilds. She performed the rituals and drank from the well. Not an easy decision, but she doesn't trust Morrigan and does trust Solas. He seemed to believe Morrigan's motives to be suspect as well. Gwen did not want the well, but braved it none the less. Anything to stop Corypheus.
Back at Skyhold, Samson is tried and delivered to Cullen, Solas is surprisingly cross with Gwen for drinking from the well and Cullen is thoughtful and worried for her safety ![]()
Next up, she's off to try and summon Mythal (what's that?), as you do...
I'm jealous that the standard font for the PS4 is a nice, bold, easily readable script. Nothing like the terrible capital style they saddled PC with. This one I'm using may be just a bit too large, so I might pick a different one.
Andreia got tired of gathering elfroot at Haven, so rounded up Cass, Varric, and Solas to head for the Hinterlands. After a bit of exploring, they finally managed to get going in the right direction to the Crossroads. They were in pretty bad shape by the time they got there....

.....all thanks to this guy:

It probably took me 10-15 minutes to take him down due to the regenerating uber-barrier (and neither Andreia nor Solas equipped with Dispel). He was the last apostate to kill but then, once he was gone, they still had more templars to get rid of. Let's just say there was a lot of reviving going on.
Backing up a ways, this scene always reminds me of LOTR.

Somewhat off topic but, anyone know why Imgur image links aren't properly generating anymore, or why the "copy" feature is disabled? The copy thing started a few days ago but the image links not working just started when I went to post these pictures.

I've come to realize during my third playthrough that gathering herbs in general is pretty useless. I think one needs maybe a total of 100 elfroot for all side quests? Unless there is more to this herb gathering...oh, maybe those grenades and special potions I've never used :/ I only gather metal/stone now.
Do you play on higher difficulties?
And I don't use Imgur, sorry

Trapped in the box. Anyway, this intrigues me. Does he speak to you differently if recruited after Skyhold? He calls you inquistion agent, for example, before Skyhold.

Yeah. If you recruit him after Skyhold he calls you Inquisitor and mentions the battle at Haven, even if he is slightly skeptical on the dragon being a proper Archdemon. Varric and Cassandra also have some different lines if you take them with you. At the battlements he has different lines where he wishes he could have been at Haven to help you defend it.
Sera's recruitment scene is also slightly different if you recruit her after getting to Skyhold. You learn who the "master" is and your questions for Sera change accordingly. Sadly her first dialog in Skyhold is the same as if you recruit her in Haven and don't talk to her until Skyhold. I suppose it is the shock over the whole Archdemon thing.
Also I'm pretty sure that if you don't talk to Cole to recruit him until after Here Lies the Abyss then the soldier he tries to kill is from the that quest instead of Haven.
So I've not read any of the posts in this thread because SPOILERS and I've not finished DA:I yet, but I'm not gonna let a little thing like that stop me from actively posting in it!

My Lavellan and me have finally arrived at Skyhold, but in doing so, I was reminded of the reasons why I invested in this series in the first place. The section from the appearance of Corypheus and the red templars to the arrival at Skyhold and the early drama that plays out there is just the best piece of epic drama. I did that section twice and both times I had goosebumps.
It's just brilliant in my opinion.
My early history with DA:I was a little fraught to say the least but I've really settled into it now and I am loving it - (a decent rig helps, mind!)
Anyway, we - (The Elf, Cassandra, Sera, and Varric) - are in Crestwood currently, sorting out undead, amongst other things. Although we have a nagging feeling in the back of our collective mind that we may have forgotten something back at base - something about... Cole...?
Ah well, it'll sort itself out I'm sure...
I was disappointed that when I chose to do Demands of the Qun before Sutherland and Co. Missing, that I would be transported back to Skyhold and lose Sutherland. Learn something new each time I play, I guess, but I'm still mad at myself.
Kelebek recruited Vivienne and returned to The Hinterlands to recruit Blackwall. He is not my favourite companion but this pt I've decided to use companions I've hardly travelled with in previous campaigns. So goodbye Cass hello Beardy.
The team travelled on up to Redcliffe and Varric murmured under his breath that Blackwall was just like Sebastian. Lucky for him he wasn't staying with the party for much longer then. They ran in to Connor on the docks who I swear I have never seen before in any other playthrough. He was a bit confused though, kept talking about some King Alistair? Queen Anora and Prince-consort Deacon Cousland sit on the throne and the giant tribute griffon statue in the middle of the village back this up. Connor is obviously in cuckoo-land so Kelebek and team leave him be.
Kelebek ultimately decides the mages are not worth the trouble when realising they have indentured themselves to Tevinter. A better idea is to make the Templars see sense then chase this Tevinter Magister out of Ferelden.
Also a first for me is this is the first time I think I have managed to not accidentally tag Lord Woosley so he would return home XD
Everyone was positively bored of the Hinterlands by this point so Kelebek took the team to scout out the Storm Coast and to recruit The Iron Bull. I switched out Varric for Sera because I think she gets on much better with Blackwall and I'm so glad I did. I managed to catch some banter where Sera asked Solas if he had ever pissed magic.
XD

Hey guys, I took down all of my DAI photos and deleted my Photobucket account. I'm looking into other sites to host my pics, so, if you're wondering where my pics went while reading my previous Inquisitor's adventures, it was my doing.
Since your pics are pro quality, I'd recommend getting a free blogsite and hosting them there. Then you'll have pretty much complete control over the content, though at the cost of being a bit of overkill for just photo albums.Hey guys, I took down all of my DAI photos and deleted my Photobucket account. ^^^ I use wordpress too. I haven't used it for a blog in a bit. Maybe one day I'll start up again.

Flick is good, though personally I'm too lazy and use imgur (I don't even have account there) ![]()
I use tumblr, this way I also can tag my Inquisitors and easily browse through them ![]()
I have a link in my signature if anyone wants to take a look
Grenades, Tonics and potion upgrades are what I use them for, and since I rely heavily on Grenades to survive until Skyhold (Nightmare for sure, but even on Normal), I pick flowers like crazy in the early game. I even open the Forbidden Oasis very early, solely for the purpose of getting Witherstalk and Dragonthorn early.
But you are right about the commons, not really worth the time after Skyhold, since you can buy all the important ones at Hinterlands and Crestwood markets.
The rares ones, like Dawn Lotus, I either make a point of picking -- I know the shortest path through the Fallow Mire to get Dawn Lotus, skirting around all the undead -- or grow in the Skyhold garden.
I made a list of all the herbs you need to upgrade all potions/grenades/tonics. If anyone needs it. ![]()

This is, quite possibly, one of the full on nerdiest things I've seen in ever. I also kind of love it.

Glad you like it. ![]()
Oh, you know, I just prefer to upgrade all potions at once. ![]()
Also what that list showed me, the Inky doesn't have a problem with Elfroot, they have a problem with Blood Lotus. You need nearly double as much Blood Lotus as you need Elfroot, just for the upgrades. ![]()
I'm not counting ingredients. ![]()
Nice job with that list! Even though it isn't for a tonic or upgrade you could add on the 10 Crystal Case for that tiny cave? If you felt like it of course!
Thanks
True, tho I also didn't count the Blood and Lotus, Spirit in the Lake etc quests.
Hmm, maybe I'll make a second list for Quest ingredients. ![]()
Ugh. Finishing up Samhal Lavellan's run in Trespasser. Decided to really deck out Dorian in lightning related spells and staff, so as to maximize the Superb Storm pact belt. Went into the Vir Dirthara, and the man wouldn't generate guard from staff to save his life....literally! Had to rez him multiple times. Finally started controlling him myself, and nope. No guard on hit. He didn't even get any guard from the upgraded ** War Horn Bull uses. ![]()
Anyone know if this is a known glitch/bug? I did also put two pieces of the Skin that Stalks on him (the amulet and ring). Not sure if that is a factor, or not. Since I am so near the end, I will probably just reset him with his previous setup and forgo to the belt. Too bad though; really like using that belt. ![]()
**EDIT
Sorry...meant Horn of Valor, not War Horn. ![]()

Yeah, my "normal" mode is Hard + Trials, with NM thrown in when I want a real challenge. I always upgrade all the potions, grenades, and tonics, so I pick almost everything I come across. I farm blood lotus like mad; I grow it in the (upgraded) Skyhold garden as soon as I can. All the grenades require blood lotus as an ingredient as well as for upgrading, so it is a definite must. Bees, Pitch, and Confusion are my favorites.
Not sure if everyone knows this but you can "swap" potions between party members. Just pick something else to equip the first person with, then select the replaced potion for your new party member. Whatever qty was removed will be available to the new person, so you don't need to make more.

I just had that conversation with Connor, but he got it right in my game. He mentioned Anora as queen.

That list is awesome! And you have very neat handwriting.
Yeah, Harding doesn't know what she's talking about. All my quizzies are master blood lotus farmers and don't really give a crap about elfroot. It might be different if we had to make health potions as well, but we get those for free.

Just a thought....are there any sigils that negate guard? If so, maybe you put one on Dorian? Also, don't those pact belts increase damage taken or something like that? Maybe the extra damage is negating any guard that is generated?
Game update:
Andreia took team Femquisition (Cass, Vivienne, Sera) out to the Oasis to check out the old elven temple. They collected all the shards in the area and, combined with what she'd already found in the Hinterlands, had enough to gain entry and open the first door of each element. She also closed a bunch of rifts and picked a ton of blood lotus.
After returning to Haven, she swapped out the ladies for the gents, and now she, Blackwall, Varric, and Solas are camped in the very wet Storm Coast, poking about under logs and rocks for any sign of the missing Wardens. She also got an invite to see the merc band, The Bull's Chargers, in action but with Inquisition soldiers missing, that will have to wait.
Something new: I saw the Storm Coast dragon flying around while still at the very first camp. I took a couple of screenshots, but haven't uploaded them yet. She's got a really loud roar! ![]()
Played a little DA2. Had forgotten how much I loathe the dog lords gang. If I were a mage, I'd probably possessed by a rage demon. But instead I'm possessed with: lets turn a one hour session into a novel demon. Which is horrible.
So here is Gurners session:
I truly hope there are no mabari enemies in the next DA game; I hate having to kill dogs. I also don't like killing wolves. They all make such a dreadful whine sound when they die.
