Today I chatted with Sera and she said my Inquisitor is adorable. One of these days I'll stop making new characters and actually finish a playthrough, but today is not that day.
What Did You Do Today (in the DA 'verse) ? .... oops ;)

I'm now entertaining the mindgames Dorian is playing on Varric by trying to get him to bet on whether or not I'll be successful in stopping Corypheus.

Yeah, that rift by the river... Brutal until you're powerful enough to deal with it. And bears too. Freakin' Hinterlands nemeses.Another day in the Hinterlands, and my journey comes that much closer to an end. I swept through the top areas, which involved the following:

Finally made it out to the Western Approach. Was hoping to get through the whole Adamant quest today but there is just so much to do there. Bandits and hyenas and mines and spiders. Dragon kills and dragon researchers, and more bandits killing the researchers. Not to mention the sulphur pits that need to be conquered before we can actually get where we need to go. Oh, and fade rifts and demons and camps to set up. I did meet with Hawke and Loghain and we chased poor wittle blood mage Erimond away crying. If I could, I'd post the screenshot I took of Julia giving him her, "Don't mess with me," look but just telling you all about it will have to do.
While the soldiers were building the sulphur pit removers, Julia made a quick trip to Val Royeaux to finalize Josephine's deal so the polite assassins will leave her be. One of these days I will have to try Leliana's approach and see if it is any less tedious.

I just finished that bit with Josephine before going back to the Hinterlands. In both of my games, I took Leliana up on her offer to help things along, so I'm looking forward to trying it your way next game, heh.

A couple of snapshots from a very long night that turned out well.
Can you ask for more?
Yes, Josephine...

You do?...

Given that you are in one piece, body and dignity, I forgive you.

Finally home again

The Abyssal High Dragon is no more. Frederic was a little bit disappointed that we didn't take notes on its circling patterns before it landed to fight us, but he agreed to become an agent of the Inquisition just the same. What can I say, she was magnificent to behold and I just stood there like a fool watching her, totally swept up in the awesome music playing in the background... and, well, I may have dropped my pencil in the bait *cough*
My only regret is I didn't invite Bull to join us, and I really should have. We got drunk the night before, toasting the death of the Fereldan Frostback until the wee hours of the morning. It's only a minor regret because of the hangover I suffered through all day. I felt like punishing the big, horned, b*****d for that, heh, so he stayed home. I'm blaming the hangover for the fight taking a little bit longer this time too, though in reality it was only because the Abyssal High dragon put up guard a couple times on us, so we had to whittle that down.
But it was a better fight because we only used two health potions this time. Harold fell down a cliff on the way to set the bait used one for a hangover cure before the fight started
and Vivienne got hit full-blast with a fireball just as her barrier ran out. Bad luck, that. Totally pretended not to hear Blackwall chuckling. Otherwise it was a fairly simple fight. Before we left Skyhold, Harold crafted himself a new bow, using the fade-touched obsidian we found near Frosty's lair. Now he's as unstoppable as my knight-enchanter was. ![]()
So the Western Approach is complete. Found all the shards, all the regions, all the landmarks... even found all twelve pieces of the Archdemon Mosaic this time! Woo! Now I have to take Dorian to Redcliffe and resolve his personal quest, then off to the Storm Coast to deal with some red templar stuff. Dunno if I'm ready for Vinsomer yet, but... maybe. Could also go to Crestwood and take care of the Northern Hunter. Hmm...

I was so surprised that I immediately hit "Leave him alone!" before I actually gave much thought about the other options, lol. I saved shortly before the interactive banter, so I reloaded and am sort of vaguely hoping it comes up again at some point so that I can see all the permutations.

Finally done with the Hissing Wastes again (leaving Sleepy the Dragon where she is for now - at least until it's time for my future dragon-slaughtering rampage to begin). I popped over to the Emerald Graves for a change of scenery instead and got some interactive banter...which involves Cassandra being a bit peeved with my LI Blackwall post-Revelations.

How is the Blackwall romance? I'm thinking about my next PT, and with the way I'm rotating my Inquisitors to try them all out, my next one will be a female warrior, either dwarf or qun'ari... so that eliminates Dorian, Cullen and Solas as a LI. I kinda want to save Josephine for a bit, but that's not etched in stone, so that leaves Iron Bull or Blackwall. Given that Blackwall's revelation still bugs me from my first PT, I'm kinda interested in that romance, to see if it erases those bad feelings.

It's a good one.
It's also as far as I know the only relationship that you can actually end--if you choose to do so--in a meaningful sort of way instead of just approaching your LI and says "Hey we're done ok thx bye", hahaha.
In fact, I did just that last night. My Well-**** Trevelyan (hahaha) above romanced him and by the time his personal quest ended, during the judging in Skyhold.... she broke up with him. Can't really reconcile the fact that he slept with her before his revelation and in my head, my current Inquisitor just wouldn't stand for that.

I'm obviously quite firmly in the camp of believing in him despite what he did. It's on the dark/angsty side, but it's also romantic, and there's the redemptive aspect to the relationship depending on how things go. And he does, hands-down, have the sexiest romance tarot card ever. If I were on my computer atm, I might conceivably be ogling it right about now.
EDIT: Right - if sleeping with him prior to the Revelations quest is an issue, then you can take the tavern option (hanging out with friends) and still continue the romance when it gets to that point.

@spork: I'm a believer in redemption for the majortiy of people in the game, and I believed that Blackwall was genuinely remorseful about his past actions. Also, I can't resist his "man with his heart laid bare" line during the judgment, heh. What he did was bad to be sure, so I guess it all hinges on whether or not you believe he's changed and has done sufficient penance with his good actions to date, and if that's enough for you.

Have to say that even though my first Inquisitor felt like she'd been punched in the gut by the big reveal -- she romanced Sera so that wasn't an issue -- she still agreed to let him become a warden after Corypheus was dealt with. She just didn't want to talk to him anymore, heh. No matter how I feel about the guy for lying like he did, I'll still always like him for the "save the f**king world if pressed" line. Soon as I heard that I had an almost irresistible urge to play Origins again.

Okay, I just took care of my college stuff, and as celebration for me surviving those long lines, I played with my brother. Kind of. And it's not really my experience, but... I forgot to tell my brother about the romancing aspect thing, and he accidentally triggered a kiss scene with Dorian. He started freaking out. When I asked him about it, he said he's not freaking out because it's same-sex or anything, he's freaking out because the kiss is "awkward" and had "too much mustaches". Not to mention that they were actually making out in front of Mother Giselle.
In the end he just told me it was "a lot better than Zevran's romance in Origins, where they kind of just headed straight to bed and started screwing each other."
(I told him who the romanceables were, and said that he's going for Josephine. Because he "likes Antivans, like Zevran". I don't know what to honestly think.)
Gameplay-wise, he's in level 15 as a human dual-wield rogue, and has already finished the Orlesian ball after repeating said mission three times because he hated all the approval gathering and the halla-stocking and I don't think he understood the decisions he made, and actually had the mission set back just to get on with actually winning the last battle, and he spent four days grinding his ideal party just to do so. Yes, he had the box do community service. He's now in the Grey Warden arc, but I'm not really rushing him to finish it, because as much as he is itching to see Loghain for real (me too, I'm curious as to how he looks like), I doubt he'd want to see the end of the arc. ;;
And he'd gone dragon-killing too, and I gave him some tips with party-building and crafting and all that, but no, he prefers to fight a dragon with himself, Iron Bull, Cassandra and Solas, just because they "look cool killing dragons".
I did play a bit today as my new inquisitor Arden Trevelyan, a male human mage, but dang I didn't do well on creating him cause he looks like a generic white guy. I'm still in the Hinterlands and I'm doing questing at the best I could but I just... can't... play further with him as my Inquisitor. I don't know why. Even though I'm hyped for romancing Cassandra and/or Dorian I don't know why I can't force myself to play. In the end I just closed some rifts and switched back to my Dalish inquisitor, picked an old save before the final quest and just started murdering those weird gurns/quillbacks/???? in the Hissing Wastes. There's that infected giant thing that the red templars in Emprise du Lion keep spitting at me and it takes ages for me to kill one, so I'm grinding. ;; Harder than a dragon so far.
The only good thing that probably happened today was me telling my brother how (badly) my romance with Solas went. Then, he switched control to Solas, and he was screaming "YOU EGG, YOU MADE MY SISTER SAD" as he made the poor guy fade-step to the nearest ravine he could find.

Bohlin has been to the temple of Mythal, drank of the well, tamed a dragon, and is currently spending time gathering resources to craft the best arms and armor for himself and his companions.

Some would argue the system can't handle it, but this is a very watered down version of the game.
In any case, I hear that one way to prevent it from happening again is to stop moving whenever the game is saving.
Still, I'm afraid of the possibility.

I never played on Console, but on PC we get that automatic synchronization with Origin which allow us to recover the save files. Do you have similar option? You might lose one hour or two of gameplay but it's always better than re-making all characters...
