Belinda didn't make very much progress, but I still have a lot to report.

I don't know why it keeps surprising me, but the game still comes up with content I've never heard or seen before, no matter how many hundreds of times I've plowed the same row. This time it was Giles in the Crossroads. I talk to him at least once in every PT, but he never has anything interesting to say. I was always puzzled by that, why have an Interact on an NPC that's got nothing?

Well, because I'm intentionally doing things out of sequence from how I normally do, I happened to talk to him before I recruited Blackwall this time. O. M. G. All this time I'd been missing out on all of that homespun, aww-shucks, down-to-earth goodness.

And ... he's a farmer. I never noticed that before, but it's obvious from the dialogue I'd been missing out on. His name is Giles. Farmer Giles. I see what you did there, Bioware. I see what you did there.    All that's missing is a reference to having ham for breakfast ...

Belinda (much to my chagrin), decided that the folks of the Hinterlands needed more help. Killing 10 rams can't be that bad, can it?

Long story short, two ... not one, but two ... promoted bears later, a bunch of random Outlaw mobs, a few full party wipes and reloads, and a bunch of running around collecting blood lotus while waiting for rams to spawn, well over an real time hour, Belinda finally got all the ram meat she needed.

Then she tried to clear out the apostates in the Witch Wood. Full party wipe. She tried again. Full party wipe. WTF? I'd done this with a level 5 party multiple times with no problem, why was my level 6 party getting fried, frozen, and fracked to death every time?

Oh, FFS, I forgot to bring grenades! AND ... because I was running a mod that overrides the Crossroads merchant with illegally smuggled materials, I was NOT able to buy the Antivan Fire Schematic. Arrggh! Why, mod maker, why did you remove the stuff that was already in the merchant's inventory?

So, I quit the game, disabled mod, re-merged, started game again, bought schematic, went to Haven to build the nades, discovered I'm one Dawn Lotus and one Witherstalk short of necessary upgrades, so I had to open the Fallow Mire sooner than I wanted, and I had to waste Power opening the Forbidden Oasis, just to get one stinking mat from each, back to Haven to make upgraded Bee and Antivan Fire nades, back to the Witch Wood to fight the apostates one more time, and one fire and one bee grenade later, victory!

Belinda was exhausted after all that, and she still had the apostate caches and East Road bandits to deal with.

No wonder I only ever get 9 agents ...

Really? My first playthrough is half game building my character and half me. I don't start second guessing until I have a real character that I'm trying to make the game represent accurately within the confines of the choices given. So I will reload multiple times to find the right dialogue choice, because I haven't tried them all. Do you start with fully formed character when you first play?

I know, it's a bad habit, I spend way, way too much time in a first playthrough squeezing every drop of content out of a game. Locked content, like the CoJ/IHW quest choice, drives me nuts. I don't think I played through both before deciding on one -- that would have been a bit much -- though I did do that with Fallout 4 between Railroad and Institute, since doing one does most of the other anyway.

No, I don't start with a fully formed character, how could I? My first character was all over the place, for the mages, against the Circle, for the Templars, against the Chantry, for the Chantry, blah blah! I think I started out saying I was the Herald and then later violently denying it! With no idea of where the narrative is going to take you, how can your first PT be a fully formed character? But do I learn that lesson? Hell, no.

(BTW, I write "I" for my character for concision in writing about him/her. I don't do self-insert. It's just easier to write "I exiled the Wardens" than "My character exiled the Wardens".)

It's like I'm afraid I'll never play a game again, which didn't ever happen before. Until recently. Now, other than Bioware games, I'm a one PT player for every new game, if even that much. I couldn't finish the Witcher 3, too frustrating.

The tale continues,

 

We reach the bone yard in good time. Mainly because I stopped listening to Finn's complaining. It didn't stop him from doing it anyway... Ariane has shown no interest in what the Eluvians are or what they do. I thought that Dalish lived for finding pieces of their "past glory", but if she is an example to go by, they may have forgotten their history for simple lack of interest in it.

 

As we enter the fields, there are sound of movement in the distance. A distance that is closing. I think I know why the ring has been so active. The place is crawling with dragons and cultists. Morrigan must have been dodging these things for days. It has to be the stress that's been jumping the link. I just hope we don't have to fight off a High Dragon. These three won't be able to survive that level of destruction...

 

... Fighting our way into the ruins has taken more time than I care to admit. We did not face a High Dragon, but the ancient elves left their own defenses. A beast Ariane called a Varterral. A monster straight out of a nightmare. A powerful beast, but I've faced far worse. Takes some doing. Mainly because I had to keep stopping to heal Fin and Ariane. Eventually I just marked them with a weakened life ward and let them fall. The ward was just strong enough to keep them from actually dying. I couldn't use my full power with them getting in the way... or seeing the Hero of Ferelden using Blood magic. The people need their legends in a good light after all. Can't have these two blabbing... Once it is just me and Ajax, I unleash my full fury upon the Varterral. It goes down pretty quickly then.

 

Once we step inside, I get a jolt from the ring. She's here... I can feel her. We have a few run ins with cultists and dragonlings on the way down. This place still gives me the creeps. When we reach the spot where I fought the Architect, I can't help but question if I did the right thing in killing him. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do, but... What if... Pointless. It's done. I throw a fireball at the already charred headless corpse.  Finn asked me why I did that. I shrugged and said "Just making sure."

 

When we get to the underground lake, I feel the power coming off the Eluvian. It's glowing. She did it! She actually did it. The portal is open... I leave Ariane and Finn to guard the door while I go have a chat with my wayward witch. She seems nervous at my approach. Thankfully that which is most precious is not in this pit. That is somewhere safe... and hidden. I had feared she had brought it to this damned pit with her... We talk, but she is vague to the point of saying nothing about her plans. The journey has taken me from one extreme to the other. I don't know where that portal leads or what Morrigan's ultimate ends are. I'm not certain about much right now, save one thing. I am not letting her walk away again. We will face whatever comes... together.

 

In our time apart, I have studied the art of shape shifting, delved deeper in to the Blood arts, and Thanks to my time with Velanna I am well versed in Dalish magics as well. My power has done nothing but grow seen we were last together. I think she can sense that. to some degree. At this point, I doubt there is much that she can do that I can't. Anywhere she goes, I will be able to follow. She figured out how to activate this portal. So can I. Running in not an option. I'm sure she could sense that as well. I had a good speech made up for a case for her to take me with her, but it wasn't needed. She didn't need any convincing. She would never show it, but through the ring I could feel what she was feeling. She was glad of my desire to go with her.

 

I will not describe what was on the other side. Not because I wish it to be kept a secret, but because it defies description. The Eluvian took us to a place outside the boundaries of our world. It was not Thedas. It was not the Fade. It was... the Beyond. I have no other words for it.  "Cross Roads" finally makes sense... Where we go from here... I cannot say. Morrigan will take me to that which is most precious soon... tomorrow... she and I have some lost time to make for tonight.

Highlights of the first season of Mara Trevelyan, the Tempest Rogue.

Childhood dream: To be a Spy Bard. At age 12, something happened that made her outright reject her nobility. Mara moved in with Aunt Lucille(a trevelyan family member listed on the Wikia page) for 8 years. Aunt Lucille was much older and wiser; she insisted on nobility "Game" like lessons in exchange for providing dagger training to young Mara. Played a year or two at "mercenary" between 18-20 years of age, but at the same time, had a roof over her head and an allowance, so she was doing it without need. Due to her "Nobles are awful" sentiment, Mara and Sera get along famously having fun being immature. Just like Sera, however, she self-doubted a lot and thought everyone was crazy pants for making her out to be this "big thing." Mara liked to drink, she had her taste for a casual romp in the hay, Magic veered between interesting and HELL NO in her head.

 

Mara was in denial about all the responsibility being laid at her feet. "In Hushed Whispers"; after seeing her new best friend Sera turn hero and sacrifice herself to buy Mara and Dorian time to return to the past, Mara had a strong wake up call. Via a few things; an awkward one night stand with Iron Bull, Blackwall balking at the idea of a relationship because she was the Inquisitor as "there were important things to do. like save the world from Corypheus now. And, some imagined on my part, Sera dialogue where even she said Mara needed to step up; it wasn't just Mara anymore. There was an us, an organization, there were friends who would support her, but only if she would stop being an idiot. Mara realized she needed to grow up. Distanced herself a little bit from Sera (had been emulating her) and started thinking of Cass as a mentor. She'd been admiring Cass's strength and passion anyway, so it was a not big step to move her to mentor position. And Blackwall was so damn serious and idealistic and had been part of her wake up call, she fell for him. 

 

She conscripted the Mages, Aria Hawke was left behind in the fade, she chose not to exile the Wardens. She did NOT sacrifice the Chargers. She discovered that becoming a Tempest was amazing and powerful.  She wrote to her estranged mother, forgiving her. Took them all out for some Dragon Killing training. She helped Varric and Cass become friends with a romance novel. She adores Dorian, admires Cassandra, is very good friends with Sera and Varric. Jose and Cullen are okay. Cole and Solas are odd ducks she's willing to help. On the fence about Madame De Fer. Leaning towards dislike on Leliana.  When she went to the Winter Palace, she put her rusty "Game" skills into practice, ignored Leliana's insane suggestion to help assassinate the Empress, and blackmailed them all; Briala, Gaspard, and Briala, into working together. And when Blackwall turned out to be Thom Rainier? she found it within herself to free him and stay with him romantically. 

 

 

In this episode, Mara recognizes that she has been through some angsty things lately, and reaches out to her friends and companions to cheer up!

 

Drinks with Iron Bull:

Mara headed to the tavern, intending to connect with Sera to blow off some steam. But then The Iron Bull was at the bar, waving her over.

 

"Inquisitor, come have a drink!"

 

He poured her a mug as she sat down next to him. Who cared if it was the middle of the day? Inquisitor privilege.  He raised his mug in a toast, his mood bubbling.

 

"To killing a high Dragon like warriors of legend!"

 

Mara brought the mug closer, but then smelled something foul. She had to ask; "What exactly am I supposed to be drinking?"

 

He leaned in conspiratorially. "Marass-Lok."

 

Mara raised her brows at him, "And what does that mean?"

 

"It means drink!" And he laughed at his grand joke. Mara gazed at the contents of the mug, shrugged, and knocked it back.

 

Mara chokes, gets it down anyway, coughs and assumes she just lost her throat forever considering the searing burn.

 

The IRon Bull laughed at her reaction, "I know right? Put some chest on your chest." In response to her drink reaction. Then he went on, romantasizing the fight. "That little gurgle right before it spit fire? And that roar. What I wouldn't give to roar like that. The way the ground shook when it landed. The smell of the fires burning… taarsidath-an. Halsaam.  You know Qunari hold dragons to be sacred? Well, as much as we hold anything sacred."

 

"That thing you just said." Mara was curious about that phrase. "He shouted it during the dragon fight. What does it mean?"

 

"Taarsidath-an Halsaam?" And then he learned in close. Mara expected another lame secret joke.

 

 

Oh maker. Really? It was funny and disgusting all at the same time.

.

 

A little disbelieving, she asked, "You shouted that while it was breathing fire at us?"

 

"I know, right?" He let out a sound that was a mixture of a lustful groan and aggressive growl. Disturbingly, it reminded her a bit of that night she'd spent with him.

 

Thankfully, he moved on. "Dragons need to be destroyed. Taming the wild. Order out of chaos." He declared. Then he noticed her mug was empty, a fact she'd been trying to hide. "Have another drink!" He poured her another.

 

She braced herself, and threw that one back as well; this was not a drink to savor.

 

This one wasn't as bad going down. Still, she hadn't eaten anything before coming and she'd already downed a mug. She was definitely drunk or near there.

 

"To Dragons!" Iron Bull shouted in toast.

So, someone, may even have been Mara, got something gross on her outfit. She'd leave it at that. So, she went to change clothes. Despite her wobbling at least a little bit, she managed it, and returned to the Tavern. Iron Bull was taking a nap; he'd drank even more than her. Mara was determined, perhaps drunkenly so, to spend some time with Sera. Being drunk would probably just make it more fun.

 

When she arrived, Sera seemed to have the same idea.

 

 

She tilted her head at Mara to indicate she should follow. And they walked out of Sera's room up to the railing that kept drunks from falling over. Most of the time.

 

"You have a problem. A full tavern,  they're all up their own arses about the Inquisition. I can't have fun with everybody whinging. And they'll fall on their swords before Crispiness can push them. I'm thinking pranks. Set a few up. Knock a few down. You in or not?" Sera laid it all out.

 

Mara grinned. She knew Sera wouldn't let her down. "I'm in. Lead the way."

 

Sera seemed surprised. "What, really?"

 

"Really." Mara may have almost slurred. Maybe. Who cared. 

 

Sera giggled. "I knew you were different! Let's go."

 

Mara was drunk so didn't have anything to suggest to Sera for pranks. So left all the great ideas to her. They tucked paper under "Mr. Clean" Cullen's desk. Hung a bucket of slop on Josephine's door.

 

Hmmm. Was this okay? But after it was all done, Sera dragged her over to the tower before she could much think about it longer.. Lelianas birds ruffled feathers at their presence.

 

Sera didn't seem to know what to do with the spymaster, Leliana.  So she was talking aloud, and Solas ended up hearing them. "Who's up there?"

 

Mara felt caught, and looked at Sera, wide eyed. "Run!" And they both bolted for the door out, Sera giggling all the while. They didn't stop running till they got back to the tavern. People had moved on at this point. Mara was sobering up a bit, but still felt pretty mellow and amused.

 

Sera sat down next to her and began to talk. "That was fun. An Inquisitor of the people, still remembering you're one of them. If all they got was the 'Harold' stuff? The serious bit, it starts to sound pretty scary. That works, but not for long."

 

Mara sighed, relaxed. "I'd throw pies if it kept the people's morale up." Hmm. And she meant it too.

 

"Anyway," Sera stood to leave. "Fun time, Inquisitor."

 

Suddenly, the tavern door burst open with a boom that startled Mara, so she stood. Josephine stamped in, glaring. "You!" Mara's eyes widened. Yeah, the slop bucket had been too much.

 

"Oh, frig." Sera said with a grin. Turned to Mara."You did it!" And Sera ran away giggling.

 

Mara was not so relaxed as Josephine gave her an earful about her noble heritage and how she knew better. Mara took it silently, really agreeing about the slop bucket, then left. She felt tired and thirsty and it was time for bed.

 

 

Let's get out of Skyhold, Cole

Mara woke the next morning feeling peckish. And yes, hung over. She wanted something different than the kitchens had been providing. Grabbing a slice of toast, she headed up to visit Cole. She'd been wanting to check in on him anyway.

 

She found him in his usual spot, listening in on the tavern patrons below. "How would you like to get out of here, maybe do something fun?" Mara said playfully.

 

Cole seemed confused at the suggestion. "I don't know. I've never tried."

 

She'd drag him out if she had to. "Come on!"  They went to go grab horses for the both of them, and she waved Thom off from joining her.  She took Cole to that restaurant she'd been passing by every time she ran an errand in Val Royeaux. Maybe he didn't eat, but she certainly did!

 

She walked up to the Orlesian Head Waiter at the restaurant. He recognized her immediately. " Inquisitor, thank you for honoring us with your presence! Will you be dining alone, your worship, or will others be arriving later?"

 

Since Mara could see Cole to her left and it was obvious that this gentleman did not see Cole.... Mara was easily amused.

 

 

The Orlesian man ignored the oddness of her choice in words and tone. Very professional. "Very good. Right this way." He Invited her to sit at a long table. Before the man left, Cole stopped the man and gave him advice about bedroom games with his wife. Mara was bemused and continued to be so as he went about the room giving spirit advice to many of the patrons of the establishment. He finally returned.

 

"So many little hurts, even here, away from blood in battle." Mara thought he looked cute, fiddling with his hands, like a little boy expecting chastising. "I wouldn't have heard them before. Now I can, thanks to you."

 

Mara felt a mixture of relief and happiness. She's been waiting for the other shoe to drop ever since her choice to help Cole become more spirit like. It was really good to get feedback that he was happy.

 

"So you help them with A few whispered words?" She asked, having to crane her head up to look up at Cole. He had not sat down, after all. A spirit thing. No one seemed to notice that she was  talking to 'herself'. Maybe the same thing that made Cole disappear from people's minds was kind of applying to their conversation as well.

 

"The right words. Plus what I am, a little of me making the happiness stronger, so the pain fades. I don't steal the pain." Cole rushed to assure her. "The nightmare demon at Adamant did that, and made them less, so it could grow. I help them heal. They never need to know I was here. You've made me better."

 

"Do whatever you need to, Cole." She trusted his judgement regarding the hurts around him.

 

"There was someone. Before. He was my friend, but he didn't know what I was. When he found out, he changed. I lost him." Cole paused, and really kind of seemed to gaze right through her. "You found out, but you didn't change, didn't make me change. You let me be this, be more.  Thank you for helping me find this again. For believing me. You don't know what it means."

 

Mara was quite touched. "I have an inkling… And you're welcome."

 

He poofed away to help various people but she could hear him as if he were still beside her.

 

 

Mara smiled, and ordered a heaping plate of fancy food, enjoying the morning atmosphere, the music...and the shaded location. hehe

 

Chess with the Commander

Mara felt much better after the food and the ride back. Cole had been quiet, as was his usual nature, on their way back. Mara felt good regardless. Everything was perfect... well, except for that whole end of the world and war business. Sigh. No matter.

 

She didn't feel like getting back to work when she arrived at Skyhold. Grabbed a quick kiss from Thom, before heading over to the garden.

 

Where she found Dorian and Cullen playing a Chess game. They threw challenges at each other.

 

 

Watching them, Mara had a bit of time to think. She loved Skyhold. Or at least, she loved the people in it. She'd found happiness, purpose, love...all here. What would happen when all of this finally came to an end? 

 

Cullen broke her thoughts with a question, "Unless you would care for a game?" He did it with an expression of challenge on his face. Mara smiled.

 

"Prepare the board, Commander."

 

AS Mara sat down, Cullen began to speak. "As a child, I played this with my sister. She would get the stuck up grin whenever she won… Which was all the time. "  He smiled at the memory. "My brother and I practiced together for weeks! The look on her face the day I finally won…" his smilemile faded and he leaned back in his chair, ruminating over the board.."Between serving with the Templars in Kirkwall and now the Inquisition, I haven't seen them in years. I wonder if she still plays."

Mara was curious. She realized this was really the first time she'd talked to the man outside for the War Council Room and actual battle since they'd come to Skyhold. "You have siblings?"

He leaned forward again. "Two sisters and a brother."

"Where are they now?" Mara asked, making her first move on the board.

"They moved to South Reach after the last Blight. I do not write them as often as I should. Ah-" he finally noticed she'd made a move. "It's my turn."

"All right. Let's see what you've got." Mara said. She'd impress him with her skills at chess. Or die trying. Aunt Lucille would make her spend hours with her playing chess. Well...maybe not make. Aunt Lucille was an amazing woman. Maybe it was Cullen mentioning his family. But suddenly Mara was homesick. Funny; she'd just been thinking how much she'd loved Skyhold. Guess she could feel both.

They focused on the game for a solid hour, sharing light jokes and family tidbits as they did so.

"This may be the longest we've gone without discussing the Inquisition or related matters. " Cullen remarked eventually. "To be honest, I appreciate the distraction."

Mara was amused. Distraction is all she'd wanted the last few days. "You can't be serious all the time. Well, maybe you can." Cullen smiled at that.

They again focused on the board. And finally, check mate.

"I believe this one is  yours." Cullen said as He leaned back, taking in the board. "Well played."

Mara was triumphant. One more thing to thank Aunt Lucille about.

"We shall try to play again sometime." Mara smiled. It was nice to have gotten to know the man a bit more.

Ah. That was good fun. Next time I play DAI, I shall really have to think about the order of things so these conversations/events don't go in weird places narratively.

 

Next episode? Mara meet's Kieran. She also wants to get ready to go to the Arbor Wilds but EVERYBODY HAS A PROBLEM she has to deal with first. She needs their minds clear for battle.

I chuckled at the bolded part. My first PT, I was agnostic female human mage. But the post Haven singing got her and I both thinking we were the "chosen one". We waffled back and forth when Giselle and Cass asked. We were pretty much in that mind set when we went to Adamant. Then we got our memories back and we were like "TEAR EYE OPTION" So it wasn't Andraste? man, we felt like idiots and super disappointed. Then we just let everyone think she was, that the lie was good for people to believe in.

 

But Mara was adamantly, NO WE ARE NOT the chosen one. You folks are ridiculous. And a thumbs up "HA WE WERE RIGHT" when she got our memories back. And then violently denied giving the people "the words of Andraste" when Jose asked, and then that woman said the people would just make it up anyway! RAWR

Saturday rather than today, but on my Trial of the Lovers run, Cassandra went off on a bender over Jaelle Lavellan's out-of-control ego. The root of her dissatisfaction? Jaelle said that Varric had earned her trust.

In the Crossroads, in the lane between the two crop fields.

That confused PT is my canon PT. Some parts I went back to a previous save and replayed, the rest I just retconned with headcanon. She was always sarcastic and a prankster, romancing Sera was a total no-brainer. When she said all that about being the Herald, she was just pranking. I mean, she was a reluctant Trevelyan mage with an attitude problem and a wannabe vallaslin, whoda thunk anyone would take her seriously?

Andreia found all the dwarfy trinkets in the Hissing Wastes, all the dwarfy notes about the tombs (without using the guide to find the last one I inevitably have to search for because I missed it the first time), all the pieces of the final mosaic; picked enough bushels of Vandal Aria to finally upgrade all of her potions/tonics/grenades; killed another dragon only to be rewarded with 2 armors she can't wear ; bought a new schematic (yay for the perk finally working); and seemingly exhausted the banter between her trio of companions: Rainwall, Dorian, and Cole. Also, found more sand.

 

Next up: the Temple of Dumat, then Arbor Wilds.

I'm not entirely sure who you were talking to? Is Cass considered an ice queen? But if you were talking to me and of Cass, then I do intend to romance her.

• I intend to romance Dorian with a Templar Trevelyan. I like the idea of his following Dorian to Tevinter with Templar skills most mages there can't handle, even if he has to drop his shield and go one handed. The only man I'll go warrior for.
• I intend to romance Jose with a Female Dwarven Rogue I make as adorable as possible. Disney Princess Dwarf fighting a duel for love? Totes cute.
• Intend to romance Cass with an Elven Mage. Balance the power duo, and echo some Ameridan awesome.
• Intend to romance Sera with a Qunari Mage but I don't expect it to go smoothly because she'll see Solas as a mentor.
• Will never ride the Bull past a one night stand.
• Already romanced Cullen, Solas, and Blackwall to pretty much completion.
• And plan to date Scout Harding with someone, I don't know yet, because I just decided a day ago that I would after I finished JoH for the first time. I'll roll my favorite race (Human is feeling a bit stuffy right now) as female maybe; toss up between Mage or Rogue. 

I did Cass as a elven Mage.... It was greatly satisfying for her to have fallen for yet another Mage... But he's a Aposate this time, so yolo.

I understand though. For my second playthrough, I was going to romance Dorian because his character appealed to me. But when Cassandra sounded so disappointed when I said it was Dorian and I... I reloaded my last save and romanced Cassandra again :'(

I actually was starting my Josie romanced on him and it's kind of sad to see Cass all alone...

2 things: they show up on the walls at Skyhold (2 upper level, 3 lower level) and if you talk with the dwarf Gatsi after you complete each one, you get a codex entry on what it's about.

Belinda was a hunter before she was a merc, and hunting bears was something she did for sport. So naturally, in the Hafter Woods, she was going to chase after any bear that came in sight. Sometimes she got more than she bargained for, though.

Belinda was chasing one bear in the far middle distance, who sprouted a twin, when the third crossed her path, and the two red arrows (in the HUD compass) behind her were a pair of Outlaw Lurkers that had ambushed Viv and Solas.

But Belinda wasn't the only one with bear problems.

Belinda had to wonder about the newborn Inquisition. Some of the stuff she saw out in the Hinterlands suggested that her forces could use a little more training, if not common sense.

I always assumed half of Danarious's obsession was the lyrium skin achievement and the other half the sexual fetish component.

Meet Pike "Trickfoot" Cadash. She's modeled after Pike Trickfoot from Critical Role. Pike in CR is actually a Gnome Cleric, but because there are no Gnomes in DA, I made her a dwarven warrior, soon-to-be Templar.

In CR she and Scanlan, another Gnome are quasi-together (or something, atleast Scanlan keeps hitting on her) but there's no Scanlan in DAI. The closest to his character would be Zither.

 

So I'm now torn between romancing:

• Josie - loved her romance
• Sera - haven't done this one yet
• Harding - I know it's just flirts, but idc

I somehow don't want to romance Blackwall with Pike. I can't even explain it, it just feels like they don't suit each other.  And I don't want to romance Bull.
