Belinda, In Your Heart Shall Burn, Part 1

(I got a lot of pictures to share, so I'll keep the words to a minimum.)

Belinda took her time preparing to close the Breach. She talked to everyone to make sure they were okay with conscripting the mages.

Spoiler

Then closing the Breach itself was a piece of cake. There was much rejoicing in Haven afterwards.

Spoiler

(In the name of making different decisions than I normally do, I took a tour of Haven before starting the first battle at the first trebuchet, and to my very great surprise, there is some banter I never paid attention to before. Paraphrased from memory, I forgot to record video:)

EDIT: Corrected

Solas: This bodes poorly!

Dorian: Never a dull moment for southerners, is there?

Iron Bull: So ... celebratory drinks are on hold.

(And some NPC one-liners that I had never heard befoe. You can get a comment from every one of the the NPCs that you can rescue later. Seggrit's comment is hilarious!)

Spoiler

Finally, check out these nasty Venatori! Wasting all that blood magic on levitation spells. It's a wonder Samson puts up with it.

^ The last image is really goofy.

****

That night by the campfire near the Stormcoast, Alaryn sat a little way off. The pressure from the past weeks was getting harder to bear. Whether to seek help from the mages or the templars wasn't really her decision to make, she felt but the others kept looking at her. Were they expecting her to speak of a divine message from Andraste pointing the way? Cass and Blackwall seemed to think so though they didn't say it. Solas and Varric were non-committal but they were clearly expecting her to decide. Josie, Cullen and Leliana all had different horses to pitch. None of them was putting a foot down and telling everyone where they wanted to go. She wanted to yell at them all to stop looking in her direction.

She sighed. Pulling out the whetstone from her pouch, she began to sharpen her dagger. It was much easier managing the Trevelyan estates. Nothing was ever murky about the day to day running of staff and the troop garrisons. What she decided affected people she knew. Now she was asked to make decisions affecting everybody and the world. Why did it happen? Why her?

I'm pretty sure that's an elf, not a Qunari. Stylized hair, not horns. Some folks think it's an image of Mythal, but not sure why an Orlesian would have that in their house.

Yeah, true. Hmm, maybe they bought it from somewhere for it being a curiosity/looking pretty?

I mean there is a letter in Trespasser from a guy who bought "an elven mirror".

Early this morning I started my last PS3 game of DA:I -well at least for awhile-with a redheaded and hornless female Qunari  rogue and  I have arrived at Haven.

I'm not a fan of Qunaris so,maybe this game will get cancelled before I reach Skyhold. I wasn't even sure if a rogue or mage would be a better choice..

I do want to play other games then DA:O or DA:I maybe  a game of "The Last Of Us" or "Lost Odyssey"  is in order.

All you do in that quest is collect some books. Nothing to do with restoring the Circles. For me, I always do it because the idea of trash mobs and so-called freedom fighters destroying libraries and books makes my blood boil.

Ooooo... I was wondering where that quest went to...but to get it, you literally have to pick the dialogue, " I want to help restore the circles." And my Mara was like, "NO I DON'T." hahaha Yeah, Viv didn't get those points my last play through.

But I would save a library, so that's an odd dialogue choice.

Not if you don't talk to him in Redcliffe :)

Then he Greatly Approves of having them disbanded.

Also: PIKE! Stop flirting with Sera! You're supposed to romance Blackwall!  :pinched:

The journey of Warden Commander Drako Amell, The Hero of Ferelden: (DA:O, DA:A, and Witch hunt)

The Chronicles of Tyros Hawke, Champion of Kirkwall:

Over the course of the last year, Carver and I have done several jobs for the Red Irons. Made a bit of a name for ourselves among some of Kirkwall's less reputable citizens. It's not the life I wanted for Carver. He wants to prove himself, but the longer we stayed with the company the more likely it was he would end up either dead or in prison. I was relieved when we finally worked off our debt to the Irons. We were forced to resort to doing odd jobs for them from time to time though for the coin to make ends meet. We were barely getting by week to week. Sometimes even day to day was questionable. One bit of hope came when we heard about a Deep Roads expedition forming by one of the Merchant guild members. We're meeting him in the morning... well... more like lurking outside the guild until he shows up and then trying to sell him on taking us along. Same difference...

...The "meeting" went poorly. This Bartrand is every bit as asinine as his reputation. I tried being charming, but Carvers aggressiveness exposed out desperation. We still made a good case, couldn't figure out why he wouldn't at least entertain the idea... a moment of contemplation that a cut-purse took advantage of. Barely had anything in there to begin with. Carver and I took after him, but he didn't get very far. When we rounded the corner he was pinned to the wall by an arrow. The archer was a stubby dwarf with a rather unique crossbow. Never seen anything like it before. A work of art. The dwarf retrieved my coin purse and introduced himself. This Varric, brother to Bartrand if you can believe it, was a charmer to be sure. A city dwarf through and through. He revealed that the reason the expedition hadn't set out yet was because Bartrand couldn't fund this little field trip on his own. So the smooth talking younger brother tried pressing us for fifty sovereigns. If we had that we wouldn't need this blighted expedition. The offer he made was one we couldn't pass up though.

With Varrics contacts we should be able to pick up plenty of odd, if illegal, jobs around the city. Carver remarked that Aveline might have some bounties we could go after. She joined the City Guard not long after we settled in. She's done quite well actually. One of the best guards in the city by all accounts. She's climbing the ranks rather quickly. If there is any legitimate work to be had, she will know about it...

...Met with Aveline. She discovered an ambush being planned and asked for us to back her up. Not sure what the bandits were expecting, but it clearly wasn't us. They were hardly a match. Upon returning to the keep, the Guard Captain was less than pleased with our efforts. So that was 4 hours wasted... or so it seemed. We learned that a lone guard was supposed to be traveling that route... with a satchel. Because of our fight, the scheduled drop of that satchel was changed and handed off to another guardsman. Suspicious satchels, only one guard for a patrol, and the Captains reaction... It was too much for Aveline. We set out to follow Guardsman Donnic on his patrol and see if he too would be met by an ambush...

...It was dark by the time we caught up with Donnic. We were almost too late. He was being attacked by the time we got to him. We quickly dispatch the bandits and tend to the Guardsman. While Aveline gives him a healing potice, I check to see why these highway men are so eager for this satchel. Their eagerness is not without cause. Various official documents, patrol routes, and information on city accounts were packed inside. Useless to a guardsman, but highly valued by those who skirt the law. We begin a straight march up to the Keep and to the Viscounts office to expose this conspiracy. I admit the sight of that man being dragged off by his own guards brought a smile to my face. An even bigger smile came when Aveline was named as his replacement. She seemed shocked, but to me she was the obvious choice. This city got a lot safer today...

... Time to head back to Uncle Gamlen's house. We've been out all night. Mother will be worried. I made a several silvers off some of the gear I picked off the bandits. They weren't going to be needing them anymore. It's not much, but it's enough for us to eat tonight and have a few left over... assuming Gamlen doesn't find it. The money will disappear into the local brothel in a heart beat if he finds it.

I complain about Uncle Gamlen, but he did take us in when we needed him most. Despite that, I just can't trust him. What little money we have, we have because I've hidden it from him. IF we can buy our way into this expedition, will could be set for life with the relics we find down there... Got a lot of work to find and do before that happens though. I'll meet with Varric tomorrow in the Hanged Man to discuss things further.

Not 100% true. There are a small number that have an impact on save files, so you have to be careful about when you add them, and more importantly, disable them.

I discovered this with the Crossroads Crafting Supply mod:

n.b. Some of the store information gets baked into your save file, such as the quantities remaining, etc. So if you merge a new store mod in the middle of a playthrough it can cause items in the store to disappear or the amounts to change.

Ah :o so is that only for mods that affect stores? Cause I doubt I'll ever use those. For now I'm only interested in looking pretty.

Belinda, In Your Heart Shall Burn, Part 2

I have a lot of pictures again, so I'll keep the words brief. Belinda cleared the two trebuchet's easily and evacuated all the Haven villagers easily, but the suicide mission to fire the last trebuchet didn't go so well. A monstrous Red Templar, then a dragon, then the Elder One himself, almost put an end to our hero.

But as luck would have it (Mother Giselle would say faith), Belinda survived the rout of Haven. Solas had an Ace up his sleeve and before she knew it, Skyhold was the Inquisition's new headquarters. Oh, and they elected her Inquisitor too, go figure. She's just a Vashoth merc that fell into a little luck! But, she promised that a Qunari would be an example for them all.

To the trebuchets!

The Chargers were a motley crew but they fought well. Alaryn was less certain about their leader Iron Bull. He had been very candid about himself and his mission but he could be playing a deeper game by being so upfront. Still, better to keep an enemy near where you could watch him. Not a job for her but Leliana ought to be up to it.

They picked up a band of irresolute rogues after she killed their leader for ordering the murder of Inquisition soldiers. Their defense that no one had been able to stand up to their leader was prattle. If they believed the orders were wrong, they could have presented a united resistance. They didn't and chose to reap and enjoy ill gotten gains. Not a group she had much faith in.

On the way back to Haven, she made her decision. Everyone expected her to dictate what they ought to do. Very well, she'd do it. Given their current strength, they had no chance against the Tewinter magisters. They need a strong counter against the magics the magisters would throw at them. Enlisting the aid of the templars was the first step. If the Lord Seeker remained obdurate, they would have to try to appeal to the lower ranks. If they could convince the necessary numbers to support them, they could deal with the magisters and free the mages.
