After the talk about who they should approach, Pike went to the Hinterlands again and did some side quests.

- recruited Ritts

- dealth with the Mages and Templars

- killed demon who controlled the wolves

- marked places for watchtowers

then she went to Redcliffe.

DAI froze at the black loading screen at the end =(
I wanted to edit that part, but my video editing software kept disorting the format. =/

Alistair survived! Also, I remember that argument with my Aria. It was a punch to the gut, what Alistair said, considering how badly my Aria Hawke regretted annulling the Circle. But darned if she'd break down in front of Alistair.

The journey of Warden Commander Drako Amell, The Hero of Ferelden: (DA:O, DA:A, and Witch hunt)

The Chronicles of Tyros Hawke, Champion of Kirkwall:

Mother and Uncle Gamlen argued most of the night. Not unusual. This time it was specifically over their parents Will regarding the family estate. Mother can't accept that our grandparents disowned her for running off with father. Gamlen finally admits that he doesn't even have the Will anymore and that it's still locked up in the estates vaults. That ends the argument .. for the moment. Carver and I have a chat a bit later about it. He sees how distressed mother is over it and we hatch a small plan. Mother gave him her old key to the Estate. Assuming the locks haven't been changed in the last 30 years, we planned to sneak into the cellar in the morning...

...Goes well. Some slavers had set up shop in the old place, so killing them wasn't a problem. There were more of them  than I hoped, but fewer than I feared. We carved our way through until we found the vault. We collect the Will and head back for Gamlen's. Our dearest Uncle will have much to answer for when Mother reads what we have. I marvel at the size of the cellar. You could fit the entire Hanged Man Tavern down here and still have room left over. The estate itself must be enormous.

After revealing Gamlen's lies, mother... did not try to kill the old bastard. She seemed to take heart in the knowledge that her parents did not hate her as Gamlen had lead her to believe. And armed with the Will that left the entire Amell Estate to her, she had legal grounds to petition the Viscount to return what Gamlen threw away as it was not his to being with. That is going to take months, if it is at all even possible. The Expedition is still our best bet at getting out of this slum. I spoke with Mother and that... Uncle Gamlen before Carver and I headed off to the Hanged Man... Not sure I can forgive Gamlen, but I can try to move past it for Mother's sake.

...Takes a while for Varric to turn up, but I had a good show. Carver was trying to hit on one of the bar maids. She's shot him down every time before, but he keeps trying. When Varric finally shows, I leave Carver to his doomed efforts and discuss the expedition with my new partner. The basics of the expedition are taken care of for the most part, but the key things like an entrance into the Deep Roads is still up in the air. That seems kind of important for a Deep Roads expedition. Varric's heard of a Grey Warden in the city, but doesn't know exactly where he is. If anyone knows a good spot to enter those Darkspawn infested tunnels, it'll be him... Assuming we can find him.

It's about this time that I hear the inevitable. The sound of a full flagon being poured out... I turn and... yep... right on top of Carver's head. As she walks off he looks up and says "Shall I take that as a maybe?" I collect my beer soaked little brother before he gets into even more trouble and we head out to find us a Grey Warden...

...The Trail eventually leads us to Dark Town. The city under the city. It's where people too poor for Low Town end up... It's also crawling with every type of criminal low life you can think of looking to take advantage of these poor sods. The Grey Warden is supposedly acting as a healer of sorts for the refugees and orphans down here. We had to fight through two gangs just to find the Warden's hiding spot. Whatever he's running from, he definitely doesn't want to be found.

Warden Anders, excuse me, former Warden Anders... Never heard of a Warden leaving the order before. Not my business. We did manage to strike a deal for some maps he has of the area though. We watch his back in a secret meeting tonight with a friend of his at the Chantry and we get the maps as a payment. Seems fishy to me, but we need those maps. The more we have to dangle in front of Bartrand, the harder it'll be for him to turn us away again...

...The Meeting did not go well. Anders' friend had been made Tranquil. The Templars used him as bait to trap Anders. As if I didn't have enough trouble with the Templars already... What happened next shocked even me. This Anders is far more than a run away warden. He's a damned abomination. He insists that it's a spirit of justice and not a demon that's inside him. I'm no expert on the fade nor it's spirits, but I know a demon when I see one. I should inform the Templars about him, but then what becomes of the people who depend on him. I'm no healer.

I don't know what to do about Anders, but we have the maps. One step closer... Heading back to Gamlen's shack. Been a long night... I've asked Carver not to mention the nights particulars to mother. I'll have to keep an eye on Anders. I can't shake the feeling that something terrible is going to happen and he will be at the heart of it.... that's probably what that strange look Aveline gives me sometimes means... I'll have to ask her about that some time.

I ran into some problems once I made it through the south entrance of the Darkspawn fortress. There were a number of controlled giants that killed my Inquisitor numerous times, and it was good I had the Revive spell with Solas. I hadn't really ran much into problems until then, and will head onto Adamant after finishing the darkspawn quest. My inquisitor simply didn't want them to threaten the fortress while he was at Adamant. I've also had a few Level 3 schematics start to pop up.

The blank look on their faces was disturbing when Alaryn informed the Inner Council of her decision. It wasn't exactly the dullness of incomprehension. It was rather like the confused air about First Enchanter Fiona when they spoke of her invitation to Red Cliffe. As if they didn't know what they were about or what they had discussed weeks before. There was that fuzz of shadowy outlines around each of them. Less sharp in them than in Fiona. When had it appeared?

Just after they returned from Val Royeaux, Alaryn realised. It wasn't so clearly defined as it was now and it wasn't just the Inner Council who exhibited the odd cloudiness. It was around everyone. Was it the effect of this time dilation magic Dorian spoke of? She watched them covertly as they debated on the wisdom of approaching the Templars. Their manner was that of a waking dreamer grasping after the threads of a recent dream moments ago. Slight hesitations in their speech and furrowed brows that spoke of intense groping of recollection. That they did remember was clear, unlike Fiona who plainly could not recall her trip.

Why did it not affect her? Was it the Mark? If the impact of the time spell was spreading as Dorian had warned it would, they had to get the templars immediately. Only they could null and control the effects of magic.  It would have to be done quickly before the situation became worse.

"Then it is decided," she cut into their debate, drawing all eyes. "We will approach the Templars with the Orlesian nobility at Therinfall Redoubt in six days. Cass, pick out the troops that will accompany us. I'll pull supplies and meet you at the gates. We'll move out in two candlemarks."

It was after she left the room that she realised she had effectively issued orders to people who were, in a sense, in charge of the Inquisition. None looked upset however or asked questions. They had simply accepted it.

Created an elf in dragon age Origin to check if it still imported from the Gog version to the Keep. It was successful, so I also made a dwarf to celebrate. Doubt I'll finish either of them, but the Origin stories were fun.

Spoiler

Also checked in with Caron in DAI and did some questing in the Emerald Graves. Thinking about just going ahead with Adamant Fortress, so I made some armor for the group and packed some bees in their lunchboxes. The fort will be assaulted in another session when I'm not as sleepy.

Also checked in on Adahl. Thinking about switching Vivi out for Solas, since Adahl is more supportive of mage freedom than I thought. And besides, they are not that different, bald mages with questionable fashion sense who look pretty young for their age. Anyways, Adahl took down the rebel mages, thus inflicting a plague of Outlaws on the Hinterlands. Also managed to enter Redcliffe and is bothering the local populace before hitting the tavern to get drunk. And meet with the mage leader as well. But mostly to get drunk.

You know how, during Maya's run, I accidentally sold armor that had a Sigil of the Great Bear on it, because I didn't know it could be removed? And try as I might, I could not get a second one, no matter how many bears I killed?

Well, Belinda just got her third, and she just got to Skyhold! I guess the RNG is trying to apologize.  ;)

Belinda met the legendary Champion of Kirkwall. He seemed a bit worse for wear.

Spoiler

She spent some of her time on chores around Skyhold: selling stuff, crafting stuff, talking to everyone, exploring Skyhold, jumping on her new bed, that sort of thing.

Spoiler

The rest of her time was for training to be an Assassin. She had Josie hire some trainers. She met with Heir (Belinda wasn't sure if that was pronounced Her or Herr?), and then went to run some crazy errands. Both Deathroot and Assassin Weapons? The first required a trip to the Western Approach, the second a trip to Crestwood. Oh well, she liked the Western Approach and she had to go to Crestwood anyway to meet Hawke's warden friend, so.

(Towards the goal of seeing and doing things differently, I found this loot bag near the first camp in the WA that I have never seen before. I'd farmed this part of the Western Approach a good hundred times or so, yet managed to miss this!)

Spoiler

Belinda met a very friendly doggy and a very pretty dragon in the Western Approach. Or was it a friendly dragon and a pretty doggy? She couldn't remember. The Iron Bull was very excited about fighting the dragon.

Spoiler

WARNING: don't do what I did! Because I find the exclamation marks distracting in Skyhold, I talked to all three trainers and activated their quests. That makes the marks go away. BUT, it also unleashes the Alpha Quillback gangs in the Western Approach (for Artificer). If all you need from the Western Approach is some Deathroot, you don't want to be fighting these bad boys, trust me. Wait until after you got your Deathroot, then go talk to the rest.

So after finishing Andreia's story, I decided I was ready to play Trespasser with my very first Inquisitor, Andariel, who romanced Solas (don't worry, I already played Trespasser with a Solasmancer; Tanith was heart-broken but I think Andariel will be a little more on the PO'd side :P).

Anyhooo....I started out by syncing with the nug and taking stock of current weapons and armor. I finished her game before storage chests were a thing, so she doesn't have much in the way of inventory to choose from. So, normal difficulty for her + a few trials on. I crafted her some new armor and a new dagger but left everyone else as is because....lazy.

Also, not all of my potions and whatnot were upgraded, so I decided to go blood lotus hunting before doing anything else. Got to the Hinterlands Crossroads to buy about 3K gold worth of blood lotus and stopped for a quick chat with Corp. Vale. Only to discover, I hadn't completed In The Elements! Those poor refugees spent the entire game freezing to death!  :crying: So out of guilt (and also because she needed to locate a few missing mosaic tiles) off Andariel went to mark all the supply caches for Recruit Whittle (why is he still just a recruit even after Cory is dead??) and then officially recruit Vale as an agent. Better late than never, I guess.

I also have a couple of regions to mark (including the one that was bugged in the Dales) and a landmark in Emprise to find. Plus a few other things. So much for heading straight into Trespasser. I still don't think I will do either of the other 2 DLCs but who knows? There's a lot of loot in Descent, and good mats in JoH so.....ugh!

I finished the Adamant mission with a heavy heart, I really didn't want to let Loghain cover our escape, but I wan't ready to let Varric know I left Hawke in the fade. No doubt it was a tough mission with numerous pride demons, but I finished it and it was another black eye for Corypheus. I recruited the Wardens and they joined the Inquisition.

Do the multiple realities ever get mixed in your mind?

I was just thinking... I have one Hawke who loved Anders and went off to Weisshaupt. Then another Hawke who sacrificed herself in the Fade. A City Elf who stayed a Warden with romanced Alistair. A cousland who used him to get the throne. I have my first Quiz married retired happily with Cullen. A second redeeming prisoners with Blackwall while supporting Cassandra.

How does one pick a Cannon play through when all of the Characters did something I relished that made them dear to my heart? I want them all to exist.

Time for bed eh? :P

Do the multiple realities ever get mixed in your mind?

I'm afraid I have a one track mind.  :P  I didn't make too many paths for any of the DA protags. It's two for the female Warden, two for female Hawke and one each for F/M Inquisitor. All of them are human. So where I'm concerned, I'm easy.  :D

*****

They accomplished their objective; acquiring help from the Templars, but they had never envisioned the rot of red lyrium spreading within Templar ranks or that the Lord Seeker was a envy demon. Alaryn eyed the survivors with sympathy. Their beliefs and confidence in themselves were shattered with the betrayal of their leaders. Ser Barris was the only one whom they could depend on now. She looked at Cass when he came to up them; what would the Inquisition offer the Templars? The shadows behind Cass's eyes were less defined at the moment but her unspoken plea was clear to Alaryn.

"An alliance," said Alaryn. The offer bolstered the templars; they were still of worth. Barris understood the chance she was offering them and promised they would help to remove the Tewinter mages and sealed the Breach. Good news to Alaryn's ears and the party.

Their good mood dropped when they met a courier from Leliana on the way to Red Cliffe. The mages were all gone. They had left a few days ago for parts unknown, led by an agent from someone called Calpurnia. Alexius himself had apparently disappeared. No one knew where. The odd time eddies about the town was also gone. Whether this was connected to Alexius, they had no idea. What to do?

Sealed the Breach, decided Alaryn. They could not waste time chasing after the mages. The fuzzy shadows of the people around her had disappeared. Did Alexius die? If he did, did the time dilation spell died with him? Alaryn had no idea but she wasn't going to sit around wondering about it. It was a puzzle that could be dealt with later. The Breach was now the immediate problem. They headed back to Haven with the senior Templars and those troops ready to make the attempt to close the hole in the sky.

*

She had screamed. Two forces warred to consume her. As her body burned with unnatural fire within, she fought to impose her will on the burgeoning power in the tear. We should have waited. Tried to get the mages, I don't think I can do this. Even as that thought flashed through her mind, she felt a constriction in the flow of wild power; the templars were succeeding in their efforts. Encouraged, she gritted her teeth against the pain and exerted every ounce of her being, her will into closing the Breach. Something flared and surged against the combined forces, throwing everyone away with explosive force.

Did we fail?

*

The headache had subsided. Alaryn ached all over as she sat at a vantage point overlooking Haven. Campfires burned merrily, music and laughter rang through the night as people celebrated the closing of the Breach. If they sounded somewhat wild, that was to be expected. She rubbed her left hand absently as she stared down at the scene. She was thankful the fires that had raged through her body had dwindled to barely a throb in her hand. She would have gone mad if it had continued to burn.

A hand fell on her shoulder. She looked up to see Cass smiling down at her. The Seeker glanced down at the village. "They would all be impossible tomorrow."

Alaryn chuckled. "Lucky for us."

"I do not begrudge them," said Cass as she sat down next to her. "They deserve no less." She continued to observe the drunken revelry. "We have closed the Breach. The Inquisition have accomplished the impossible."

"That we did."

"Now all that remains is to create an agreement between the templars and the mages before they even think of fighting each other again. Not an easy task, I agree," said Cass when she heard the heavy sigh from Alaryn.

"I don't think it can be done without some form of change. The old practices cannot be sustained any longer."

"True but in order for those changes to stay, we need a new Divine."

"Provided she's even willing to condone changes." Alaryn rubbed her left hand. The movement drew Cass's eyes. "Does it still trouble you?"

"It no longer burns." Alaryn held up her hand. "Where does it come from? Who made it? How did I get it? So many questions." She lowered the hand. "We still have to find out who was responsible for the explosion at the Conclave."

"That will be..," began Cass.

They stiffened with shock when the clear tone of the alarm bell rang out.

Just finished the Arbor Wilds. Before doing that, I've complete all the areas besides the valley with the shards. Completed all the character side quests. So really all I have left to do is the main story final quest, the DLC, use the shards in the forbidden valley, and ultimately Trespasser.

Ack! Curse my completionist mentality! Andariel traveled all over the Wastes, the Graves, the Plains, Emprise du Lion, and back to Crestwood to complete her mosaic collection. Along the way, she killed all the dragons that had previously eluded her (Hivernal, Ravager, Northern Hunter, and Vinsomer). Back at Skyhold, Josephine shoved a desperate letter from Orzammer in her face: disaster in the Deep Roads! Please help! Sigh.
