Once again, raced nugs on my Halla.

I haven’t been especially invested in the Iron Bull romance so far. Not that it’s bad, but it doesn't help that any allusions to BDSM are going straight over my head. I have no idea what I’m picking. That said, the scene with the necklace of the kadan? Marvellous! I was laughing my head off at that dirty child, Cullen, the fact that Josephine was mesmerised the whole time, and Cassandra, you have no tact at all. Bull also made a very cute face when Cadash showed him the necklace.

 

Rooftop cookies!! Cadash has befriended Sera enough to earn the rooftop cookie scene, I am so pleased today! Since the cookies tasted bad, they just threw them at people instead. I think Sera got 10 points for clonking someone on the head. Hopefully not Josephine, she's still annoyed about the whole bucket-on-the-door prank.

 

The heartwarming scene was somewhat dampened by Sera's reaction to the Arbor Wilds adventure. Not that Cadash enjoyed it either. Dwarves were never meant to have weird elven voices in their heads. Andrastian dwarves even less so. I mean, these voices are either random gods… or dead mages… or spirits… and none of that sounds like a good thing to Cadash. However, it was her or Morrigan. She asked Vivienne if she wanted the Well, but alas, no. Vivienne did say that Cadash was the only one she would trust with this power. Aww, you’re making me blush, Madame. Since Cadash doesn’t trust myterious apostates with secret agendas, it’s Well-drinking time.

I have to wonder though, that water’s been there for a long time now. That can’t taste good.

 

As for Calpernia, I totally called it on the ‘she may become an ally’ thing. Well, not an ally. But she’s off to screw with magisters and slavers in Tevinter, so it’s all good. If it wasn’t for siding with a guy who wants to screw over the world, she’d probably share common goals with Dorian and Fenris. Why she thought Coryfish would help her, I will never know. Then again, she’s not the only one guilty of that. *pointed look at a nearby wolf*

I’m a sucker for the whole ‘villain has decided they now want to help you stick it to the bigger villain’ thing. She could be my new Loghain. I do hope she didn’t die off-screen.

Slew the Sandy Howler. She fell in a single cycle of Fire Flask - Lightning Flask - Thousand Cuts o.O

 

Might be a factor that I doused her in bees first and Mark of Death, To the Death... but aside from the bees, I did this to all dragons. I never killed a dragon this fast.

Regretfully, I must announce slaughtering an entire family of bears last night in the Emerald Graves. I might have felt bad about it if the bear cubs hadn't been as big as regular bears, but since they were, I figured they'd actually had a fighting chance and the odds were pretty even (plus, mama bear was nomming on people, and I guess my Inquisitor really couldn't have that keep happening).

I FINALLY KILLED THE ENVY DEMON ON NIGHTMARE!!!

It wasn't easy and my party consisted of Vivienne, Bull, Varric at level 9.

 

1st Attempt - Died within seconds (so I class this as a 'just testing' attempt)

2nd Attempt - More of a fight but still died without making a huge impact on Envy's health.

3rd Attempt - Finally got Envy's health down to reveal his second form but then died.

4th Attempt - Similar to second attempt and I was very angry  so I took a break.

 

5th Attempt - I tried later on in the day and somehow I managed to kill it. When I got the demon's health to less than a half (second form), it began to focus solely on Cole which allowed Vivienne and Varric to use ranged attacks. Cole didn't become unconscious so the demon's health steadily decreased whilst being distracted.

 

This is the first proper boss that I've defeated on Nightmare. So I am very happy but it probably also means any future bosses are going to be just as a challenge (it should ease up when I lv up and unlock specialisations)

@MrGDL87: I actually went that far in Champions of the Just to see a bit of the templar side, and I did the Envy fight on Nightmare - boy was it painful, so gratz on that!

I loved that series of lines:

I really hated the Hissing Wastes on my first two playthroughs, but now I find its size and emptiness is a perfect opportunity to ride around on my magnificent nuggalope.

 

Exhalted Plains is definitely at the bottom of my list, due to its bleakness. And possibly the Fallow Mire because...eww. The Avvar kind of make up for that though. They're weird. I like 'em.

This. Worth every one of those ten thousand gold. Can't wait to get to the Wastes this time around.

 

Aw man, I love the Hissing Wastes.  They're just so gorgeous.

 

Also Cole has a great comment about what the stars actually are, and everyone with you is like "Dude WTF you talking about".

I found out that if you use fade cloak, if playing as a knight enchanter, during the screeching of the dragon, it will not stun you letting you continue to damage the dragon. I'm sure folks already knew this. I'm not sure why I didn't post this however long ago

I didn't know that. Thanks Mike. I was only using fade cloak to get around to the other side of a dragon, and the weak leg I'd been hacking on for awhile.

Envy is by far the most difficult boss in the game. By miles

I started a new game. After I finished the last one, even though there may have been more to do, after 154 hours with Daenerys Treveylan, I was done. I saved the game and began a new one with Cersei Treveylan - my first mage. I also changed my world a bit

 

* Loghain survived

* my warden survived and was taken by Leiliana

* Alistair became a drunk

* Anora rules Ferelden

* Bhelan rules Orzamar

* I left DA2 the same except made sure that "sarcastic Hawke" was in place.

 

So.... how to play a mage? I have no clue. It looks like this will be another casual play through. Party make up? Suggestions?

Barrier and energy barrage are your best friends. They love to be taken advantage of and they never complain. Static cage is great fun for corralling those pesky melee baddies and beasties, and there's one ability in the cold tree that regenerates mana faster if you're not being hit. Still Focus? Also Winter's Grasp. Immolate is good for those damn despair demons.

EDIT: As for party make-up, I dunno, my own preference has always been two warriors, rogue, mage... But I really want to try a four-mage group sometime. I think Inky, Solas, Viv, and Dorian could have a blast... Well, at later levels when they aren't so squishy.

When I played the templar route Ser Barris died. I am thinking that I didn't make the senior templar quest with enough time to spare or something. I like him too.

Let's see, getting knocked up side of the head in the Emerald Graves by three Trolls, Red Templars and just for good measure a few brontos.  What the heck are those brontos doing outside of Orzammar anyway? Oh yes, and all at the same time!  With a dragon on my backside as well!  It really was an experience let me tell you!  Dang it Cassandra, we're trying to sneak past the Trolls to get to the bloody dragon!

I put together fan videos from the clips I recorded from my finished playthrough.  Yeah, I love this game and its characters .  I haven't felt the urge to make fan videos before- this game just has that effect it seems.

I'm just about to get to that area of the Plains. I'm playing a non-elf rogue and I'm considering not desecrating the tomb this time. Something is wrong with the the world when a rogue can't steal. Only trouble is, there's a mosaic tile in that tomb somewhere. OCD versus being nice to elfy elves. Damn.

One day...three Dragons in the Emprise du Lion

Dorian was FAR less than happy.

After bathing in the blood of the beasts and tearing their still beating hearts out with my teeth AND making frittata out of their eggs we marched to the arbor wilds where we kicked Corypheus's butt, turned his general against him, discovered some STILL LIVING ancient elves, had Morrigan drink from a pool of memory storing water only to find out SHE IS THE FREAKING DAUGHTER OF AN ELVEN GODDESS AND THAT HER SON HAS THE SOUL OF A GOD IN HIM.
