Oh lordy! I've found the pyramid before, but never seen the people before! I must put that on Adaar's 'to do' list (Josie keeps it regularly updated for her).
In our most recent adventures, Adaar popped off to Therinfal Redoubt to recruit some templars. I’m not entirely sure why a fortress is called a redoubt? Is it because when your enemies see it, they say ‘wow, we should rethink this, boys’ and go home?? Probably not. Anyway, she worked her way through the redoubt, losing only one pompous nobleman (what a shame!) before confronting Lucius. Only, he doesn’t play fair. He plunged her into some bizarre alternate reality, where Leliana enjoys murdering people even more, and Cullen gets angry at an imaginary war table. Compared to Cadash, Adaar retained her composure wonderfully, and was much more receptive to helpful spirits.
She rounded off the whole train-wreck of a trip by killing the Envy demon. It was rather hilarious seeing Adaar give the templars a speech about how the templar order is still good and noble because these ones stood against the red lyrium. Barris was thoroughly inspired and rallied the templars. So Adaar suggested they quit their day job and come work for her. Cass and Viv disapproved a little, but other than that, we’re golden.
My new team returned to the Hinterlands, trying to track down bears so that the rogues can have some better armour. Apparently, when you’re looking for bears, they suddenly become hard to find. And when you do find them, they drop little loot. There are bandits aplenty though, so at least there’s something to do.
Eventually, I gave up on the bears, and Adaar took the team to drop something off at the Western Fortress. Naturally, it summons a demon, because why wouldn’t it.
Adaar took a peek through an Occularum and goes off to collect a handful of Shards. Collected one by jumping from one rickety wooden ledge to another. When she went to jump back, Cole was in the way, so she splatted into the ground far below. Just wait until the next time you need a barrier, matey. Whilst up on a cliff collecting one Shard, she sees five bears down below. FIVE. All within spitting distance of each other! Where were you blighters earlier? I thought they were territorial, but nope, the little buggers are practically frolicking down there. Do we dare take on five at once? Of course. Ah, I’d forgotten how much Cole loves shouting “you can’t hurt me!” whilst getting completely spanked by enemies. In the end, Cassandra finished off the bears, whilst the others took a dirt nap. At least we got some hides though!
