At first I thought conscripting them was the better and pragmatic route, but it's hard to justify it.
One can't really comdemn Fiona for what she did, given the circumstances. And even if you could, her greatest flaw would be foolishness. She isn't a bad person, so punishment isn't really warranted.
In the end, I just felt like a dick.

Yup, I couldn't conscript the mages eiither. Lingering effect of having been a pro-mage guy in the DA 'verse, up until now. In DA:I I think I prefer choosing the templars... So far, anyway.Today I loaded my save file from 5 hours back to redo Hushed Whispers and choose the mage alliance.

Quick question. IIRC conscripting the mages is something you have to do to increase Cass' chances as Divine. So, if you don't conscript them (I like the idea of aid freely given or not at all) can you still have Cass as Divine?
I now have two pt on the move. One is my elf Deosil (introduced above) and I started another female mage for the New World Order (sounds awful) to romance Cullen. This is because the HoF (snicker) is now mage girlfriend of Alistair and once object of desire the warm caramel (mmmmmmm caramel) that is Cullen.
Another question - if you start a game under one world state and then start another game with a different world state, do all games revert to the most recent world state? ![]()

Today, Eglantine Trevelyan spent a lot of time wandering around in the Hinterlands and being completely mashed by random bears and assassins! Seriously, how can such a small area support so many bears and assassins? Eglantine is a fairly fragile thing and went through a lot of potions but, thankfully, Cassandra is not and our party emerged bloodied but alive back at the Redcliffe Farms with a few more rifts closed and Grand Forest Villa claimed for the Inquisition!
Back at Skyhold, Eglantine did the rounds. There was some more rather desperate flirting with Cullen, this time over a game of chess but I think he's finally getting the message. Then she ejected Cole from the Inquisition after getting freaked out when he started 'helping' the injured. Now she is left wondering 'Cole who?' (On a personal level, this was quite tough for me cos I really like Cole as a character but I knew that Eglantine would never keep him around). Another reason for getting rid of Cole was to annoy Solas. Solas really hates her now - he was very sneery about the whole 'Herald of Andraste' thing which she has really embraced and now she's accused him of abandoning the elves and being too obsessed with the Fade! Its great fun - I've never had a character provoke this kind of reaction from Solas before - I didn't even know it was possible! Finally, she had great fun teasing Cassandra about her choice of smutty reading material - fortunately Cass doesn't seem too offended which is just as well really - she'll be lucky to have any companions left by the end game!
So now its off to Crestwood to meet up with Diana Hawke's Warden chum....quite a lot of my Inqs seem to be in Crestwood at the moment - I must start moving some of them on!

No on the world states; they're hardwired into your PT at character creation.Another question - if you start a game under one world state and then start another game with a different world state, do all games revert to the most recent world state?

You can, but it's gonna be harder.
It's necessary to pay to attention to every little opportunity to raise Cassandra's points to make up for the -5 you gave her and the 10 points Leliana got from your mage alliance choice.

I've conscripted the mages once to see what happens. Not much difference.
I do prefer allying with the templars since I have fun fighting the envy demon.

The envy demon is definitely a better boss fight, but I like the mage mission concept, and lack of a countdown timer.I've conscripted the mages once to see what happens. Not much difference.

The one thing I like about the timer is I don't rush myself. I fight a few of the uglies and go back to the templars to fight more uglies. The longer I take to get the 3 templars by going back and forth to help the Templars in the hall, the more experience points I gain and I can collect everything that needs to be collected
The best part about siding with the mages, Dorian is available earlier in the game instead of waiting till after getting to Skyhold

Are these point allocations documented anywhere? How are we supposed to know what does what for whom if they aren't?
I allied with the mages my first play-through and Cassandra ended up as Divine. I supported her and did the mission as well, and also told scary Leliana that she (L) would be a horrible choice (sorry, but wannabe Divines should not murder in cold blood). This game I allied with the Templars and supported Cassandra again so she should hopefully be a shoo-in. Even Vivienne agreed with me. ![]()

I guess it's just kinda that having countdown timers in a game like this is a pet peeve of mine, heh; all that shiny loot on the ground and I can't stroll around leisurely and pick it upThe one thing I like about the timer is I don't rush myself. I just had that talk with Vivienne about the next Divine. Sounded like she thought my recommendation of Leliana was a bad idea, and that Cassandra would be a better candidate. Who asked her anyway? I found a thread in BSN. scuttlebutt. Information on choosing the new divine.
